Deactivating the Validation steps in a particular Validation rule

Can any one suggest the way to Deactivate the Validation Steps in a particular Validation rule relating to T.code:OB28

Hi,
Good morning and greetings,
In OB28 in the respective line item, change the activation level from 1 to 0 and that would mean it is inactive...for the entire validation only...you can delete a particular validation step that you dont require inside the validation rule and re-insert it again when you need the same.

Error while Loading the validator-rules.xml in Struts 1.2

Hello Guys,
I am trying to use the Struts 1.2.4 on Jdk1.3 inside WSAD5.1 and i get the following error when loading the application. It breaks on the fist line inside validator-rules.xml witht hte following error. My first line in the validator-rules.xml is

I do have the commons-validator inside the Lib folder. I also tried it out by removing the above reference to dtd in the validator-rules.
Can any one help me with some suggestions on something i am missing.

Passing values to the Validation Rule error message

I have the following inquiry :
I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3
I am working on ADF and JSF environment
I have entity object called "Invoices"
and I have the following business rule
" Total purchases from any supplier should not exceed 5000 $ per month "
I am using a validation query to check for the purchases from
specific supplier and validate the Amount.
and I want the message for this validation rule to be :
" Total purchases for this supplier is X , you cannot purchase more than 5000 $ "
where X is variable depending on the supplier ?
I used to do this in Oracle Forms and PL-SQL
I want to generate messages like :
Total purchases for this supplier is 6500 , you cannot purchase more than 5000 $
Total purchases for this supplier is 5250 , you cannot purchase more than 5000 $
???

Unable to create the validation at Call up point 3

Dear Friends,
I am trying to create the validation rule for call up point 3..
while doing the prerequisite is system is not througing any error message, But while doing Check step I am getting the message like " Formula composed upto first systax error"
This is the full length message i am getting the error..
The formula was composed up to the first syntax error.
Message no. GB 506
Diagnosis
You tried to exit insert mode, which is only possible if the formula has no syntax errors from beginning to end. If it is not, a new insertion session is opened ahead of the first syntax error. You can then correct the syntax error at the new position through making new entries or by deleting the formula symbols that follow.
You can then try exiting the insertion session again.
Validation is
BKPF-TCODE = 'MIRO' and BKPF-BUKRS = '2005'
check
BSEG-BVTYP not equal to null
in this point i am getting the above mentioned message

Callup point 3 will not be allowed in this validation because in CHECK you are just calling the BSEG (line item) so just select callup point 2 will be accurate one and it will be successful....
Callup point 3 is used when you want system to perform check for both BSEG and BKPF table fields....
To conclude use callup point 2 in this validation .

Order of the validation error for mandatory properties

Hi,
I have created mandatory Properties in KM Configuration.I have configured in such a way that the properties are shown while uploading a file.Now when I upload a file without filling the properties it shows the validation error for the properties but it is not shown in the order of the properties mentioned in the property Groups.
Everytime the error is shown in a random order.
Please advise me whether I am missing something in the configuration.

is it possible, that someone inserted data with a different GC as parameter than your actual group currency is?
otherwise: I had the same problem, but I actually don't know the reason. I changed the validation rule:
before i had: VAL_YTD( write-offs cap. assets BS ) = VAL_YTD( write-offs PL)
now i have: ABS( VAL_YTD( write-offs cap. assets BS ) ) = ABS( VAL_YTD( write-offs PL) )
ABS = absolute value (no sign, only values).
You could also do it like that: ABS( VAL_YTD( write-offs cap. assets BS ) ) - ABS( VAL_YTD( write-offs PL) ) = 0
PS: To have the amount 0 in a validation rule is a restricted perspective. Never forget that!
Not only for the validation - it is always absolutely important to make sure which perspective you have choosen. Check the parameters, check the rules, the selections etc.

Validation Rule for the coding mask and project profile

Hi,
I have two project profile and two coding masks. I want one project profile to be only used by defined coding mask for that profile.
So i have maintained a validation rule as follow -
Prerequisite - Project Def. :1-3: = 'A5M'
Check - Project Profile = 'ABC'
And if the above check is failed then give me an error message.
Now i am trying to add the project profile other than 'ABC' for the coding mask starting with 'A5M', but still the system is not giving me an error message configured and allowing me to save the project.
Is there any other thing which is tobe activated other than assigning the validation rule in project profile and clicking the Autom. validation check box in OPSA.
Request to confirm share the views.

Try the following, this must work.
Prerequisite
PROJ-PROFL = "ABC"
Check
PROJ-PSPID: 1-3: = "A5M"
Message
Project profile & Coding mask wronly assigned
Repeat the same for other project profiles also.
Enter this validation in your project profile. Check in "Auto Validation"
In transactinal data,
Enter project def and select the wrong profile. when you save the project system will show you the error message.

How to use the Validate step for Approve step

Hi Experts,
I have modeled a workflow with the steps start,process, validate, approve, process and stop.
Process is set to owner and approve is set to some other user user1.
My requirement is as follows :
1) Approve the records by approver and then it should send it to the next step for further processing
1.1) if the approver did not approve the record it should send a error message until the record is approved. So it should not send it to the next step when record is not approved
I am using a field called item status for approving and disapproving the records. My validation is based on this field only... Validation working fine when i tested it manually.
But my issue is when am using this validate step in workflow design validation is getting triggered for all the users.as per my requirement only approver should get the error message.But in my scenario owner is getting the error message and approver is not getting any message.
How can i use the validate step only for particular step say approve in workflow.
Can anyone please help me out how should use validate step only for approve step...

My design is as follows :
start->process->validate->approve->stop.
Owner is assigned to process step and approver is assigned to approve step.
Now my problem is owner is also getting this error message along with the approver. AS per the design both process, approve users are getting the error message.
As per my requirement only approver should get this prompt but not the owner.
How can i restrict only for specifc user to get this message.
Can anybody please advice how can restrict the owner to not get this error message...

Calling FI Validation Rules in BPM server through call transaction

I m trying to call FI validation rules through call transaction (for FBV0) in BPM server but in the messages table of call transaction it does not gives us the validation rules error messages while when i run manually the transaction in R/3 system i get the validation error messages. So please tell how i can get these validation error messages when called through BPM server.

You are using jtab within the form.. i dont think you can use it directly inside ur FORM sub1 without declaring it or without passing it. and it will give you the syntax error.

STOP POSTING TO PROFIT CENTER BY VALIDATION RULE

Dear all gurus, I am being asked by my user how to stop posting into a profit center.After searching the forum, i found an answer :"For blocking the posting to profit center, use validation rule with a check that (Profit Center=12345)->FALSE"
I do not know how it works. Can any gurus please share with me step by step in details?
Please help i am really need this solution as soon as possible and many thanks in advance for the help rendered.

You need to create the validation in GGB0
You will have pre-requisite, check and message.
Then assign the validation rule in OB28.

Validation Rules, No data to validate

I'm trying to setup the Business Rule "Validation Rules" in SAP BPC NW 7.0 but I'm getting a message that says NO DATA TO VALIDATE, I have done the configuration steps such:
1. Add to the Entity Dim the correct OWNER.
2.In BPC WEB ADMIN I changed the WorkStatusValidate to "YES".
3. I changed the Work Status Setting at application level, ith the next parameters:
     ENTIDAD---> owner
     TIEMPO---> yes
     CATEGORIA--->yes,   and the other dimensions as NO
4. I Changed The Work Status Setting at appset level too.
I have edited the Validation Rules as follows:
VALIDATIONACCOUNT        REMARK          VALIDATIONOPERANT             VALIDATIONTOLERANCE
      REGLA1                          ACTIVO                          =                                                   0.01
When I click on Save without validate, there are no problems, but it is happenning When I Click on Validate Validation Rules Rule Table. Have you ever seen this error before?

Validation rule import

Hi everyone.
I am pretty new to FDM and would like to import the validation rule excel file using import xls in FDM. Please let me know the steps to perform this. There are lots of rules inside, so cannot rely on manual thing. Please help me in this regard. Thanks in advance.

Thank a ton for your reply. Can you brief with me the steps. I took a export of one of validation rule, created a new validation group, and modified the validation group name in the excel export, location is still same. When I Import xls , it says import successful. But I didnt see any rule inside the new validation group I created. Correct me If I am doing wrong or missing anything. Thank you.

What should be the proper steps to un-installed CS6 creative suite from an old computer and re-installed onto new computer ?

I would like to un-install and re-install CS6 Creative Suite onto a new computer.
What are the proper steps required; in particular for the license code ?
I worry if I don't do it properly I may not be able to re-activate on my new computer.

You do not need to uninstall though you can if you prefer to. Your license allows you to have two activated installations, so if having a backup installation available is something you could use, you might want to keep the original installation intact.
If you do not want the old installation in working order then the minimum you need to do is deactivate it by opening one of the programs and choosing Help -> Deactivate. This will deactivate the entire suite for that machine. You could leave it this way as the use of the applications is disabled at this point, except if you wish to you can reactivate it. If you wish to uninstall you should be sure that you perform the deactivation first.
As far as getting the software on the new machine goes, you install it the same way you did originally, using the serial number to activate it.

Validation rule cost element via Idoc

Hi all,
i am sitting on the following Problem:
we are creating master data via an external tool, called MDM. It is an Access based tool as far as i know.
These data's are send via Idoc into our SAP R/3 system. It works fine.
The only issue we have:
If you create cost elements, you have normally a validation with gives you a warning that e.g. this cost element already exist. Via our Idoc its just overwriting this already existing cost elements, also the history, all data's are nearly lost.
Do we have to customize special validation rules? Is it because of Idoc? why is the existing validation not be activated via Idoc?
I hope i have written down enough information, so that somebody can help me. Thanks

The validation rule check only the first item from accounting document. So, all postings on account 1103010008 are blocked.

I need to check the second item from accouting document.
Do you have any suggestion to solve my problem?

ADF: showing error message on a validation rule programatically

i m using ADF. i ve a form that contains input text that is binded to a managed bean property.
that input text value is inserted into an entity attribute.the attribute in the entity has a validation rule.
i submit the form and in my managed bean i call
am.getDBTransaction().commit();
i want when i submit the form and the when the commit is called and throws exception regarding the validation rule,i want to show an error note window same style like this http://oi50.tinypic.com/15fhnpt.jpg

am.getDBTransaction().commit();A strict NO NO for doing this. You add the commit action to the binding and call the execute the commit operation binding programatically.
i m using ADF.ADF is vast. Be specific on the technologies you use (ADF BC and ADF Faces?)
