Deactivation . Crash hard drive. New computer. Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5.7

I have both desktop and laptop. Photoshop cs6 and Lightroom 5.7 installed on both. My desktop hard drive crashed and I can't deactivate both Photoshop cs6 and Lightroom 5.7 on the desktop. I believe I have 2 activations on both Photoshop and Lightroom. I need to deactivate both Photoshop and Lightroom to reinstall on new Desktop. I do not want to deactivate on the laptop. Remember the old desktop hard drive crash before deactivating. Help.

If you have a subscription there should be no problem.  You should be able to install on two machines. If you try to activate a third machine I believe the activation server will deactivate all your activations.  Then activate the current machine. You can then re-activate one of you other machines.
If you have a perpetual licence and have two activation you will need Adobe Customer Support to assist you.

  • Using Mac Mini with Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom

    Hi
I use Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 4 mainly as I am a photographer. It involves both programmes live and some huge PSD files kicking around. I would be interested in hearing from any one who does similar on a high end mac mini. I am thinking of getting the high end new i7 with 16g and an SSD.
    Any good ?

While it will not deliver 'blazing fast' performance, it has tested OK with Photoshop CS6 MGE recently and it has faired decently well in some benchmark reports. Since the OP insisted Mac Mini, I think he can go for it. Also, since his work demands more 'Photo-specific' editing, I guess he should be good. Not much 3D I assume!

And I haven't heard of a 'reported failure' per se yet.

  • Need assistance to update Photoshop cs6 and Lightroom to version 2014. Please help!

Need assistance to update Photoshop cs6 and Lightroom  to version 2014.
I have a Mac. I am not a member in Creative Cloud, invested big and bought CS6 and LR in the beginning of last year.
    Please help!

These are not updates (just as CS6 was not an update to CS5), but upGRADES. They are available to CC (Creative Cloud) subscribers. While in the past you might have been able to pay for an upgrade (e.g. CS5 to CS6) you now have to subscribe. Once you are a subscriber you can upgrade to each new version as it comes along.
As well as the full CC subscription there is a $10/mo plan with only Photoshop and Lightroom. Creative Cloud Photography plan | Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Update of Camera Raw 7.2 for Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 4.2 - now Bad color

Did the auto update of Camera Raw 7.2 to Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 4.2 now the color is green and flat in all images after I save them. I do use a Nikon Camera profile and lens correction. Everything was working fine until the 7.2 update. Now the only way to save correctly is to Save for Web. Where do I match the color/profiles?
    Mig

Color Settings are :     RGB     sRGB IEC61966-2.1
                                       CMYK     U.S.Web Cooated (SWOP) v2
Color Management:     All say preserve embedded profile
I had marked the Profile mismatch boxes to see if I got an error message, but I never did, so I cleared them again.
    Conversion Options:     Engine     Adobe
                                                Intent     Relative Colorimetric
Advanced Control     Only one checked iis Blend Text Colors using Gamma at 1.45
As far as what settings do I open images with.  File > Open and find the file. During the edit process everything looks perfect - only after I save is the file trashed.
Under Preferences: File Handling > File Compatibilty > checked are Prefer Adobe Camera Raw for Supportred files
Everything has been fine for months with PS CS6 & Lightroom 4.2 & Colorchecker software profiles, until the Raw Camera update. And I can still save perfect images as long as I save they with the File > Save for Web.

  • Reinstalling photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 4

    Hi,
Here is my situation- I use/own CS6 and lightroom 4.
I have installation cd's (I'm a long time user so they are upgrades from previous versions) however, I am on an extended vacation with my laptop which is my second system.
My laptop crashed so I had to rebuild it and I don't have my CD's. Where can I download CS6 and Lightroom 4 so I can activate it.
I have an adobe account so I have proof of purchase and have documented serial keys.Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.
I may suffer severe withdraw if I can't process my photos before I get home.

if you follow all 7 steps, you can dl trials here:  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html and http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-lightroom-4-is-out.html
and activate with your serial numbers.
if you have a dl problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  typically, a failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem.

  • Running iTunes from external hard drive, new computer, where to start?

I've seen several threads relating to this, but I'm a bit confused. For some time we have been running iTunes from an external hard drive with no issues. We now have a new laptop with windows 8, and I'm not sure where to start to set up iTunes (we replaced the computer with a laptop). Do I need to do a new install of iTunes on the laptop? Do I install it to the hard drive (C) or to the external drive (G)? My biggest source of concern is losing the library. I also want to be sure that we can continue to run iTunes from the external drive, I don't want it taking up space on the laptop hard drive.

With more & more people looking towards external drives as a storage solution, it's important to warn them, that although using one within iTunes is a great idea, it comes with its issues & can be a step towards a disastrous sequence. In such a scenario, each time iTunes is launched it'll look for the library that resides on the external drive, & if that drive's not connected, iTunes will open with an empty library. You know what's comming next, rite ? An empty iDevice. This happens because 'by default' iTunes is set to Auto-Sync & if you're using an external drive, the potential for a messy problem goes way up.  So in short, remember these points. when using an external drive(library).
. Always connect your external drive prior to lauching iTunes.
. Always ensure iTunes sees your external library prior to connecting your iDevice.
. Disable the 'Auto-Sync' feature from within iTunes prior to connecting your iDevice.
. Always wait to connect your iDevice until thee aforementioned points are confirmed.
As stated earlier, using an external drive with iTunes isn't a problem in & by itself. But if the external drive's disconnected & the 'Auto-Sync' feature's left at its default setting(enabled), a family member could loose all their data simply by connecting their iDevice to the PC/Mac. Or be in for a time consuming lesson.
PS: At the very least one should research the topic themselves. http://ipod.about.com/od/advanceditunesuse/a/Itunes-External-Hard-Drive.htm

  • Cloning external hard drive new computer

    Hi,
My HD on my old iBookG4 recently went kuput. Luckily I have been cloning fairly regularly to an external hard drive using Carbon Copy Cloner. I just purchased a new iBookG4 from a friend, and would like to clone the old hard drive (on the external) to the new (on the new computer). So, using the new computer, I went online and downloaded CCC, I plugged the external drive into the computer, and I attempted to do just that. The trouble is that when I open CCC, it doesn't give me that option. Under "Source Disk" it lists both the external HD and the computer's HD as options, but under the "Target Disk" it only lists the external HD as an option. This obviously doesn't help me since I need to clone to the new computer's HD. Anyone know what I can do?
P.S. - there is nothing on the new HD that I need to keep, so I don't mind overwriting the whole thing.
P.P.S. - What will CCC do if the new computer doesn't have all the software that the old HD had? I have yet to purchase Microsoft Office and install it on the new HD, but some of the files on the external HD are Office files. Will it just skip over those files during the clone (assuming I can get it to clone at all)? Can I selectively copy those files later once I have installed Office on the new HD?

You could start from the OS on the external if that device is a FireWire400
enclosure with Oxford-type chipset; and if there is a copy of CCC on there,
run it from there. To erase (secure-erase, or overwrite destination drive with
zeros, and then reformat the computer's internal hard disk drive, you can
    use Disk Utility.
There are several options, including using the booted OS X Installer's version
of Disk Utility and have it do the tasks to repair disk, erase, reformat, etc; and
depending on what you have in the way of a clone, Disk Utility can restore a
system from another volume without use of a clone utility.
If your clone can boot the computer, then it is a good volume; but if the drive
enclosure does not allow that to occur, you have to be sure the clone is good
and you can prepare the computer's drive is ready to have the clone on it.
    There are a few questions that come up, and I have danced around them;
as they would determine how you could proceed, depending on the situation.
Bombich's Carbon Copy Cloner web site has some good info for basic use
and if the clone was pre-tested to work in the same model of computer, it
should work once it is cloned back into the computer's internal hard drive.
Is the size of newer computer's hard disk drive adequate for the size of the
older computer's clone? Since you can't have two systems on the same
hard disk drive (OS X, etc) and that internal drive already has a system on
it, that would have to be erased. To use the Secure Erase option in Disk
Utility would be the better way to handle that since the feature will also wipe
the data by overwriting one-pass (or more, if chosen, takes a lot more time)
and that also defragments the drive at a basic low-level. A good thing.
PS: Your second PS/PSS should not matter so much, if you clone in all the
content of the first clone, back into this computer, and if that works OK, then
you can install an Office app and you may be able to open them with the
newer version of Office, or convert them, etc if necessary to the new version
once you have it and launch the documents via the newer app. If you don't
want them on the new re-clone into this newer computer, it may be harder
to selectively not import only a handful of documents. That's your call.
Anyway, what else can you say?
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Library Saved on External Hard Drive - New Computer

I downloaded iTunes 9 on my new computer. All of my old itunes folders are saved on an external hard drive. How do I get itunes to pick up my itunes library from the hard drive?

Tried Holding shift while opening itunes, but that didn't do anything. Can't
    Try again.
Doulble click the icon to launch iTunes then immediately press and hold Shift.
Would it work to just drag my iTunes Music folder to itunes and let it import everything from there?
Only if you want it all copied to your internal drive.
Much easier just to select *Choose library*.

  • I purchased Photoshop cs6 and lightroom for windows but now I have a Mac

Does anyone have a 1 -800 number for Adobe? I purchased the teacher/student edition of Adobe photoshop cs6 extended and adobe Lightroom 4 but I didn't really even get to learn how to use them because my computer was old and crashed. Since then I purchased a Mac and I was wondering if I could get a copy of these without purchasing them again. They were very expensive. If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

the problem is more noticable in the blacks (darker side of the histogram)
i am duel monitor from my MBP to a Dell U2410f and use colour munki to calibrate
    thanks

No, no bad monitor profile. It's OSX. Mountain Lion couldn't handle correctly LUT profiles and now Mavericks can't handle Matrix based also. Darker shadows are all clipped in the Develop module while Library shows decent ones. Photoshop is the only one Adobe software that now reproduces shadows correctly under MAC.
Under Windows no problems at all: Develop Module, Library Module, ACR, Photoshop show the exact same open and not clipped shadows with both LUT and Matrix profiles.

  • Moving CS6 and Lightroom 4 to new computer

Is there a way to install upgrade versions of Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 4 onto a newly purchased computer without having to reinstall all previous versions. I have been upgrading Photoshop since CS3 and Lightroom since Lightroom 2. What a pain if I have to reinstall all of that.

    PGC001 wrote:

That's how I do it every time. The upgrades include the full code so they'll install the full software.
Launch the PS CS6 and LR4 upgrade installers, enter your upgrade serial number.
When the installer cannot find a qualifying earlier version on your hard drive it will ask for the serial number from an earlier version.
Enter your earlier version serial even if it's an upgrade serial number - for PS CS6 that'll be CS3 or CS4 or CS5. For LR it'll be any earlier version serial number.
    The installation will then complete.
