Deadlock issue in client communication WL5.1sp8

Howdy
I seem to have a reoccurring deadlocking in
weblogic.rjvm.ServerURL.findOrCreateRJVM.
It is happening using either t3 or http communication. We are using resin
as a JSP/Servlet engine, but all these lockups are occurring in the weblogic
classes. We are using WL5.1sp8 and I thought there was supposed to be a fix
in sp8 for this issue with the weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactoryDelegate
being changed out.
I'm including a thread dump below.
Has anyone seen this issue before or know of a fix?
Thanks
-=Brian

I'm facing the same problem. SIGSEGV when trying to connect after a system panic on weblogic server. The client crashes on SIGSEGV.
I would like to know how you have managed to resolve this SIGSEGV.
Thanks.

  • WL5.1sp8-NSAPI-IE-Status bar shows page is loading for minutes

I'm using WL5.1sp8, NES4.1sp6 on a Solaris 7 to deliver JSP pages over
    https.
I notice that the status bar on the bottom line of IE5 (windows NT)
indicates that the page is still loading for minutes, even though the
page appears to be complete. What could be happening to cause this?
This may be the symptom/cause of other problems I'm experiencing, such
as occosionally I will get a "The page cannot be displayed". I have
attempted to track that down, but when this happens, nothing is written
to NES's access log, thus maybe the request did not even get to the
    server.
    Thanks,
    Jon

  • TS1398 I'm on a public network that doesn't allow client-to-client communication.

I'm trying to make my Mom's iPad work with the Epson Stylus NX430 ("Small in One") printer I just bought from Apple, with the iPad 2. She's in a retirement community with free WiFi, but the service provider prevents client-to-client communication. So, I can get the printer registered to have internet access, but the iPad doesn't see it.
If I connect a router to the public service, and get the iPad to connect to the router, that may work. Or, I can get a router with a USB connection for the printer, one that acts as a print server.
Does anyone have experience with these configurations? Will an Apple router do this, connecting to the public WiFi,
If I do this, it creates another problem: my Mom will have to select the local network when in her room and wanting to print. Because the public router names are all the same, I don't think I can get the iPad to forget the local public access point (in favor of her router), and still have it remember the other public ones, though I'll have to try it. My Mom isn't going to take to this technical issue. She's doing fine with the iPad for mail, solitare, etc., but at 87 the technical stuff will cause her trouble.
    Dick

Some printers support ad hoc printing. That is the printer can be configured to communicate with an iPad without the need for a router.  Perhaps such a printer would be of help.
Some of the Internet comments on the Epson Stylus NX430 indicate it doesn't support ad hoc printing.   You could check in the user setup manual.
How do you switch between networks on the iPad?  I'd assume a printer  on a router would be the same.  Perhaps you could configure your router to be a relay for http traffic and route the print traffic to your iPad. That's what a router is far anyway.  Whether you configure a consumer grade router like this is another story.
Can you return the printer & get one that supports ad hoc printing? Might be safer in the long run.  Printing is one of the big hassles for my parents.  It's usually the ink has run out on the printer.  You may still have to switch networks to print.

  • Deadlock issue in Oracle 10g Partitioned Tables

    Hi ALL,
I am facing an issue of Deadlock while inserting data into a partitioned table.
I get an error "ORA-00600: Deadlock detected". when i see the trace files, following lines are appearing in them:
"Single resource deadlock: blocking enqueue which blocks itself".
Here is the detail of my test case:
    1. I have a list-partitioned table, with partitioning defined on some business codes.
    2. I have a query that merges data into partitioned table (actually compares unique keys between temporary table and partitioned table and then issue an insert if keys not matched, no update part).
    3. The temporary table contains transactional data against many business codes.
    3. when calling the above query from multiple (PL/SQL) sessions, i observe that when we merge data in same partition (from different sessions) than deadlock issue occurs, otherwise it is OK.
    4. Note that all sessions are executed at same time. Also note that Commit is called after each session is completed. Each session contains 2-3 more queries after the mentioned merge statement.
Is there an issue with oracle merge/insert on same partition (from different sessions)? What is the locking mechanism for this particular case (partitioned tables)?
My oracle version is Oracle 10g (10.2.0.4). Kindly advice.
    Thanks,
    QQ.

Could you print the deadlock tree so we can see the type and mode of the locking. (Please use the 'code' tags - see FAQ at top right of screen - to showthe output in fixed font). can you list any SQL operated by this session that gets reported in the trace file.
Does the table reference itself in a foreign key.
Is this table involved in any referential integrity constraints.
Do you have a global primary key index, or a local primary key index ?
Are there any triggers on the table - if so do they contain autonomous transactions.
At present the only though that springs to mind is that the merge command has to lock the target table to do the insert/update, but it also has to lock any child table. The mode of the child lock depends on whether it has a suitable index or not, and whether the child table IS also the parent table. If you have two merges to the same partition one partition may get its locks, and the other partition may be in a state where it can't get one of the locks because it's wait for the other. (This shouldn't be a self-deadlock, though, but the scenario might be heading in the right direction for a self-deadlock).

  • SSIS Execute SQL Task using sp_rename giving deadlock issues

    All,
We have a job that has 2 steps and both of those steps call an SSIS package
1st package - Loads the data from a SQL server source, to a SQL Server destination tables, say, "TblHistory" is one of them
2nd package - It does a re-name from the History table to the Main table, so below, is how the code looks like in the execute SQL Task:
    BEGIN TRANSACTION
    EXECUTE sp_rename 'dbo.Tbl', 'TblOld'
    EXECUTE sp_rename N'dbo.TblOld.PK_TblId', N'PK_TblIdOld', N'INDEX'
    EXECUTE sp_rename 'dbo.TblHistory', 'Tbl'
    EXECUTE sp_rename N'dbo.Tbl.PK_TblHistoryId', N'PK_TblId', N'INDEX'
    EXECUTE sp_rename 'dbo.TblOld', 'TblHistory'
    EXECUTE sp_rename N'dbo.TblHistory.PK_TblIdOld', N'PK_TblHistoryId', N'INDEX'
    COMMIT TRANSACTION
In package 1 there are multiple history tables that are being loaded and most of them get renamed in the 2nd package. There is a separate SQL task for each of the history tables. The problem that I am running in to are the deadlock issues. When the 2nd package
    runs, it throws this error:
"SQL - Table Rename & Swap for "Tbl" Execute SQL Task     Description: Executing the query "BEGIN TRANSACTION     EXECUTE sp_rename Tbl..." failed with the following error: "Transaction
(Process ID 60) was deadlocked on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim."
It's giving me a deadlock issue on the other tasks as well. So, when the job ran today, I am noticing 4 deadlock errors on the 4 different execute SQL tasks in the 2nd package (i.e. the job fails at 2nd step)
Has anyone faced this scenario before?

Why renaming tables? The data do not change. So just load the data to an interim table and push it to the target or may be you do not need it at all - just load the right table.
I admit I fail to capture the overall picture of what you are trying to solve or deliver. But renaming tables is something not usual.

This is what I told at the online chat..
Richardo: if some people can get to both URLs and others can only get to the new one that could be that the old one is being done away with or if not that then it would have to be the setting for those computers that are not getting to the old one.
Me: Like what kind of settings?
Me: I have, as you may know, A Static Public IP (IP, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and DNS Servers) as assigned by Verizon.
Richardo: that would be the settings within the browser.
Me: like cache, or proxy server for example... ?

  • Deadlock issue in Partitioned Tables

    Hi ALL,
I am facing an issue of Deadlock while inserting data into a partitioned table.
    Thanks,
    QQ.

Oracle MERGE statements are slow as they must validate every record before insert.
If you use array processing with BULK COLLECT and FORALL with the SAVE EXCEPTIONS clause you can avoid most of the overhead. Just collect your rows in an array, issue a FORALL INSERT SAVE EXCEPTIONS and let Oracle handle whatever happens.
When Oracle is done, and it will be hundreds of times faster than what you are doing now, you can either process or ignore the records in the exceptions array.
Another solution, more efficient if you can do it, is to just to an INSERT INTO SELECT FROM using an exceptions table created with DBMS_ERRLOG.

  • Issue installing Client 9.2.0.1

Oracle rookie here having an issue installing Client 9.2.0.1....
I've installed the client software on a few machines without any issue. Now, I am installing it on the passive node of a cluster (cluster is running SQL Server 2000) and there is a problem. The install was successful once, until I noticed it installed under D:\oracle\ora92. I needed to install it on C, because that's where I installed it on the active node. However, when I run the installer (C:\9.2.0.1 Client\autorun\autorun.exe), it does not allow me to change the path or the name. If I change the Path to be be C:\oracle\ora92, the name (OraName92, in this case) goes away. If I retype OraName92 in the name box, the path goes back to D:\oracle\ora92.
I tried altering some ini files and that didn't work. I searched the registry and there are tons of references to the old install paths, but even changing some registry settings (specifically, HKLM\Software\Oracle\ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_HOME_NAME) did not work. I didn't touch any other keys, but I did back up the registry.
Anyone have any thoughts on how I can get this installed on C? Thanks...
    Peter

Just for giggles, I tried altering the following registry key:
    HKLM\Software\Oracle\ALL_HOMES\ID0\Path
The value used to be D:\oracle\ora92, and I changed it to C:\oracle\ora92. When I start the installer program, it picks it up as the value for OraHome92. I have nothing to lose by trying this, but my only question would be, will the installer overwrite the existing keys in the registry? I'm hoping that's what it will do, because I don't want any stray references to D:\oracle\ora92 lying around.
If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know. Thanks for all your help!

  • SCCM Internet Based Client Communication

We have one primary server (which includes all the general roles) and two remote distribution points. Question is, after I configure the MP for internet clients (HTTP and HTTPS), setup the necessary PKI infrastructure, publish the site server FQDN to public
DNS servers, and install the internet client, how does it communicate back to the internal server? We don't have a DMZ and our primary site server is completely internal. If I add our external IP to public DNS the internet client can resolve this and our firewall
is open to HTTPS traffic. Once the client reaches the front facing IP how does it than contact a strictly internal management point and distribution point?

HTTPS client communication and IBCM don't change anything about how ConfigMgr works really. The traffic must still flow from the client to the client facing sites roles. Thus, you need to facilitate this flow of traffic no different than hosting a
web site that both internal users and users on the Internet access -- in fact, it is exactly the same from a network perspective.

  • Internet Based Client Communication can not be established

    Hi,
I have one Primary Site Server and a Database Server. It was only using HTTP connection before. By reading several articles I created PKI environment and made SCCM communicate with a test client via https. I dont have DMZ, so I want to use the existing site
server for both internal and internet clients communication.
To test https communication, I installed MS Project while Client Configuration Manager General properties showed Client Certificate=PKI and Connection Type=Intranet. So obviously it can communicate via https on intranet.
To test HTTPS Communication on Internet side, I entered a public DNS manually on the client computer and deleted DNS records for that PC from DNS. I also editted hosts file on the client by entering sccm.mydomain.com with public ip address. I set firewall to
allow 443 on that public ip address.
I checked and the Client Configuration Manager General properties shows Certificate=PKI and Connection Type=Internet.
First I entered the address https://sccm.mydomain.com from the test client I see a IIS8 Web page. Then, I tried to get a report which shows installed programs on a computer and report result was not reflecting the latest changes I made. So I am not sure whether
https on internet is working or not.
I noticed  that  Client Configuration Manager Properties Network Tab, Internet Based Management Point (FQDN) is blank. I guess there should be sccm server internet address(sccm.mydomain.com). I installed client manually with the command below meaning
I already entered the internet address for SCCM but IBMP FQDN is blank.
    ccmsetup.exe /usepkicert smsmp="sccm2012.mydomain.local" ccmhostname="sccm.mydomain.com" smssitecode="XYZ"
    Please advise.
    1. How can I test if https working on Internet Side?
    2. Is it normal to have Internet Based Management Point (FQDN) as blank?
    3. Is there anything wrong with the design I am trying to implement above?
    Thanks a lot

Here's a guide I made (MP/DP in a DMZ) but it should work for your scenario.
    http://www.systemcenterdudes.com/?p=193
Make sure that your certificate requirement are ok and that your server FQDN is publicly published and available.
You must have an internet FQDN in your client properties. You can enter it manually, use a script or by using the ccmhostnameproperties in your client installation. (as you did)
To test, I usually connect directly on the internet bypassing the corporate network. It's the best test you can made.
Your scenario and troubleshooting steps are fine, you're probably just missing a minor thing.

  • Client communication port for workgroup servers

We have SCCM 2012 R2 Single Primary Site in intranet. We have PKI with ADCS 2012. We are in process of mirating to HTTPS communication using certificates. We have few servers in workgroup and we plan to manage those servers with configuration manager by
manually installing client and specifying smsmp=sccm fqdn. for lookup management point.
Can we change client communication port for these servers?
For successful client communication do we need to open any ports except 443 in firewall?
What all ports needed to be open in this scenario?

    Hi,
You configure the Communications port for the MP in the site so they must use the same ports, you can configure alternate ports so if it cannot communicate on port 443 it tries the next port.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712276.aspx
443 is sufficient, the client will also try to communicate on port 10123 for Client Notification,
    http://www.google.se/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCsQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fblogs.technet.com%2Fb%2Fconfigmgrteam%2Farchive%2F2012%2F09%2F27%2Ffast-channel-for-system-management.aspx&ei=1dAhU7qqOIL8ygPb1IHQAQ&usg=AFQjCNF4_G2sZBMbDDtJa95LBx7EYYBrRw
But it should fallback to 443 if not available as well.

  • Intranet https client communication certificate requirement

    Dear All,
I need your suggestion and feedback on SCCM client management using https (Intranet).
My client want to use https(443) intranet client’s communication instead of http(80)
Site system has MP, DP, SUP roles to manage two untrusted domain  clients and few workgroup clients.
As per MS, there are three certificates needed to manage https environment.
    Web server certificate
    DP certificate
    Client certificate.
For trusted domain, I will use auto enrollment of client certificate using group policy to deploy the certificates.
    Here is my questions,
For Untrusted domain/work group client communication, do I need create individual certificate based on the hostname and deploy manually on the clients
    Or
Do we have any other alternate method for certificate deployment?
    Regards,
    Kannan
    cheers, kannan.cs

There are ways of scripting the installation and/or using web policy or web page enrollment but that doesn't the requirements and will still almost always lead to some manual intervention. That's the whole of AD -- centralized identity and authentication
and choosing not to join these systems to AD (for whatever reason) means you have chosen not to have have this centralized identity which means it will require some manual intervention (unless you have another management system in place already).

  • I'm often having issues with clients not seeing or being able to open attachments, font formatting changes (on the pc end) and the inability to use HTML signatures to promote our company brand.

I'm often having issues with clients not seeing or being able to open attachments, font formatting changes (on the pc end) and the inability to use HTML signatures to promote our company brand.

I imagine your clients must be using Outlook, which is seriously broken when it comes to e-mail standards, especially HTML e-mail. You can work around the issues with Outlook by only sending plain-text e-mails and making sure that, in the Edit -> Attachments menu, the last two options are checked. Unfortunately, that means that HTML signatures are out.
If you need something with a fancy layout, either attach a PDF file to the e-mail or include a link to a website in the e-mail.

  • Deadlock issues with one thread?

I've been trying to nail down a deadlock issue for quite a while now and I'm just at a loss. My application basically has one main thread of execution which does get(), put(), and delete() on a database, and another background thread that goes through the database periodically (e.g. every 5 minutes) and prunes the db. The pruning thread works by using a cursor to iterate over the db and evaluates each record and, if it's expired, deletes it, stopping when it reaches the end of the DB or when it's deleted 100,000 records. I had been getting DeadlockExceptions and figured it was a conflict between the main thread and the pruning thread competing for locks on the same objects, so I modified my code so that when the pruning thread wakes up and starts pruning, it makes the main thread wait(), so theoretically the two threads should never be doing db operations at the same time. However, this doesn't seem to have resolved the issue, as I still get DeadlockExceptions. I've raised the lock timeout to 1000 ms and set it to retry up to 20x to no avail. I've even tried it with the pruning threads completely disabled and I still got it, so it seems the deadlock is occurring even within the single thread. Any ideas? I'm not using transactions, if that matters.
Also, on this page - http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/gsg_txn/JAVA/lockingsubsystem.html#deadlockresolve - there's reference to "EnvironmentConfig.setLockDetectMode()". I'm using JE 3.2.23 and there doesn't appear to be any such function. Is this out-of-date documentation or am I using and old version?

The first step is to take a look at the information in the DeadlockException -- it will tell you which threads are conflicting. Please post the stack traces and I'll be happy to help interpret them.
Also please take a look at this FAQ:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/berkeley-db/faq/je_faq.html#23
If you set je.txn.deadlockStackTrace and je.txn.dumpLocks as described, you'll get more information when the deadlock occurs.
    Also, on this page -
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/gsg_txn/JAVA/lockingsubsystem.html#deadlockresolve
    - there's reference to "EnvironmentConfig.setLockDetectMode()". I'm using JE 3.2.23 and
there doesn't appear to be any such function. Is this out-of-date documentation or am I
using and old version? The link above is for documentation in Berkeley DB the C Edition, not Berkeley DB Java Edition (JE) -- you're reading the doc for the wrong product. The JE doc is here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/je/TransactionGettingStarted/jelock.html
There is no lock detect mode in JE, it always uses a timeout of the oldest locker.
