Debug stacktrace for Oracle Hotspot 1.6 at hs_err

Hi, there is a crash generated by a bad behavior of one application that uses lucene.
OS: RHEL 5.8 64bits
I see the hs_err generated by OpenJDK 1.6 update 22, prints the current stack trace (see hs_err_27798-openjdk.txt) in the java frames section as seen far below.
However Oracle JDK 1.6 update 32 doesn't print those java frames (see hs_err_26458-hotspot.txt), which would be very helpful to troubleshoot these issues.
http://www.java.net/sites/default/files/hs_err_26458-hotspot_0.txt
http://www.java.net/sites/default/files/hs_err_27798-openjdk_0.txt
Do you known if there is a special flag to generate those java frames in Oracle Hostspot hs_err ?

In plain English (as I understand this): Oracle posted drivers that we won't be able to use until 8.1.6 comes out. The readme does indeed say, "JDBC OCI Driver 8.1.6: Client-side JDBC for use on a machine where OCI 8.1.6 is installed." Plus, the FAQ states, "There is no 8.1.6SDK JDBC-OCI driver - this will be available with 8.1.6"
That FAQ was just updated (it is the top item on today's Technet front page).
But the FAQ is erroneous: the driver exists and is available: from an item on the technet front page (from Jan 17th).
We don't have Oracle 8.1.6 here and it doesn't appear to be available yet.
I imagine that this driver was made available for the beta testers out there needing it and also for the rest of us to be able to check ahead if we can still compile.
I do wish they would plainly say as much on that download page (or in the readme). It would have saved some trouble chasing down why this doesn't run.

  • Debug mode for Oracle JSP compiler?

I deploy a web application in an EAR file to Oracle 9iAS 9.0.3 through Oracle Enterprise Manager. Now during the deployment of the EAR file I get an error:
    404 Not Found
    OracleJSP: java.io.FileNotFoundException:
Set the init-param debug_mode to "true" to see the complete exception message.
But I already added this parameter manually to the "oracle.jsp.runtimev2.JspServlet" in "global-web-application.xml" (as suggested by http://otn.oracle.com/tech/java/oc4j/doc_library/902/jsp/getstart.htm#1005625). Also, when I check out the "JSP Container Attributes" in the "Administration" settings of my OC4J, "Debug Mode:" is set to "Yes" as well.
So how do I need to configure my OC4J to print the full JSP compilation error message?

Please try Oracle9iAS Release 2 Containers for J2EE - Logging and Debugging at http://otn.oracle.com/tech/java/oc4j/htdocs/oc4j-logging-debugging-technote.html.
    Hope that helps.

    Hi,
There is no record option with 11gR2.
There is no need to use '-record' flag to record/save the response file. At Summary page of installation, 11gR2 installer provides option to save the response file. We can perfom the silent installation using this saved response file
    Unix:
    ./runInstaller -silent -responseFile <saved_response-file>
    Windows:
    c:\software\11.2.0.1\database\setup.exe -responseFile <saved_response-file>

  • Oracle 10g AS  pacth for Oracle Apps 11i

    Hi everyone,
I have installed Oracle 10g AS (10.1.2.0.2) for Oracle Business Intelligence on Sun Solaris 10 (64 bit) and integrated it with Oracle Apps 11i (11.5.10.2).
Everything seems fine but i am facing problems like
    1) Toolbars not appearing correctly sometimes like it is disabled and enables by itself.
2)sometimes clients come accross "Connection with Server lost..." error while taking export (very few).
    3) Its giving the error (mentioned at the end) only on one client machine while taking export to Excel.
I have tried installing Oracle 10g AS patch set 2 10.1.2.2 for Solaris but the problem persisits. Is patch set 2 compatible or certified with Oracle Apps 11i? if not then is there any other work around or do i have to wait for some new patch.
    Thanx for your inputs.

    Hi
The last I heard is that 10.1.2.2 is not yet certified for use against E-Business Suite unless your operating system is Linux. Please take a look at this posting on Steven Chan's blog: http://blogs.oracle.com/schan/2007/04/23
The issues you are encountering, particularly the one with the toolbars disappearing, were fixed in patch 5345528 as described on my blog here: http://learndiscoverer.blogspot.com/2006/08/more-to-toolbar-icons-graying-out.html
I would advise you to go for this patch first until Oracle certify 10.1.2.2. for Sun.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • Using DEBUG Mode in Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler to Log SQL

    Hello,
I am looking for the possibilty to enable the logging of SQL in Data Modeler.
Jeff Smith wrote an article how to do this for SQL Developer, for Data Modeler there are other configuration files. Does anyone have an idea?
    Best regards,
    Joop

    Hello Philip,
the URL to the article of Jeff is: http://www.thatjeffsmith.com/archive/2012/10/using-debug-mode-in-oracle-sql-developer-to-log-sql/
in the install directory of Data Modeler 3.3.0.734 exists a file datamodeler\datamodeler\bin\datamodeler.conf. This analogue the situation for sql Developer.
However in this file there is no reference to a (non)debug file.
In ide/bin directory there is a ide-logging-debug.conf and ide-logging.conf file. But they are not referenced. Should one of them be included?

  • Differences between TOAD for Oracle and Oracle SQL Developer?

Does someone know the advantages and disadvantages of using TOAD for Oracle and Oracle SQL Developer?
I work making reports with TOAD, but in a few days I will have to use the SQL Developer (because it´s free) unless I justify the necessity of using TOAD.
Could some that used both compare them?
    Thanks,
    Facundo.

    Hello Facundo,
since we are rolling out new client PCs we switch from Toad to SQL Developer. Therefore I'm doing some training for the "normal" users and our developers.
Most users simply want to have access to the data in tables and views. For those there are 2 main issues:
    - Filters get lost when exiting table while sorting is still applied. Since there is no way to apply filtering before entering the data tab this can become a great performance issue because sorting is applied to many many rows. For views it is sometimes impossible to open the data tab.
    - Exporting date values to Excel needs some know how if you want to sort by this column in Excel, because the date is formatted as "Standard" meaning that the sorting is done as for a text column: 01.01.2009 is less than 02.01.2008. Here you have to use a workaround column with a formula (=1*<datecolumn>)
The greatest Pro is the easy sharing of connections and reports by XML files.
Our developers like the easy debugging in SQL Developer. Though they miss the feature that the source is compiled for debug automatically as in Toad. For this we have distributed a script that compiles any PL/SQL object for debugging.
There are only some Toads installed for DBAs and for users that need access to tables protected by policies that require authentification by OS user since this information is not passed under every circumstance.
    Regards
    Marcus

  • OCCI for Oracle 9i and MS Visual Studio 2005

    Hello.
Where do I get OCCI *.lib and *.dll files for Oracle 9i and MS Visual Studio 2005 (VC 8)?
    Roman Perepelitsa.

I was able to use MS Visual Studio 2005 and OCCi classes. There is a catch though, I was not able to use the debug library dll as it will crash. So I was not able to debug any code using the VS debugger, instead, I use the old and lengthy process: insert printf statements.

We have observed some problems for XA in oracle 817 client. You should use 901 client and 901 jDriver
to talk to 817 database as a solution.

Has the jDriver that comes with wlserver 6.1 SP3 fixed this problem ?

  • XA  jDriver for Oracle problem : Getting native code exception

    Hi,
I'm getting a native code exception which causes the Weblogic server to crash when
using XA drivers for transaction with two oracle databases. My application uses RMI
    and threads.
I'm using BEA's jDriver for Oracle running under Weblogic server 6.1 sp1 talking
to Oracle 8.1.6. The OS is Solaris 2.8.
In middle of the program execution it's giving this problem. I'm using jdk131 in
    solaris platform.
Any idea what's going on here ?
    Thanks,
    Nagoor Haja

    Hi,
I'm getting a native code exception which causes the Weblogic server

I'm using BEA's jDriver for Oracle running under Weblogic server 6.1sp1

In middle of the program execution it's giving this problem. I'm

Any idea what's going on here ?

  • How to debug BPEL in Oracle 10G / Oracle 11G

    Hi All,
How can we debug BPEL in Oracle 10G / Oracle 11G .
We are working on RosettaNet conversion in BPEL. We would like to debug BPEL
    Appreciate your help.
    Regards
    Vijay

    Hi
I need to debug BPEL code in same manner how we debug Java Code ( Line by Line ) .
We are working with Java CAPS and Glassfish ESB for last 5 yrs. In NetBeans we debug BPEL in the same manner how debug Plain Java CODE.
Have a look at below link

I am looking for same sort of options to debug BPEL using Jdeveloper.

  • Problem installing weblogic jdriver for oracle

    Hi ,
    I have installed WLS510 and Oracle8i Personal Edition on windows98. I have
put the c:\weblogic\bin\oci815_8 directory in the system path and
    c:\oracle\ora81\jdbc\lib\classes102.zip in the CLASSPATH
Now when I try to test the connection using the following command:
    $ java utils.t3dbping URL user password DB driver_class driver_URL
    I get error :
Connecting to WebLogic with the WebLogic JDBC Driver
Can't connect with the WebLogic JDBC driver:
    System.loadLibrary threw java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError
with the message 'no weblogicoci36 in java.library.path'.
    Server StackTrace:
    <not available>]
Could anyone please tell me what java.library.path is and where should I
    find
    weblogicoci36.
    Thanks
    Vishwajeet Lohakarey

java.library.path is Java System variable for seting directories where will java look out for native library modules (DLLs on NT). It is normally unset because DLLs are serached by standard NT algorithm (PATH variable, System dir) too.
weblogicoci36 is native module name of WL JDBC driver for Oracle that Java&NT couldn't find. Coresponding DLL file is in your c:\weblogic\bin\oci815_8 directory.
Problem could be in that if WL is started as NT Service,
    a) PATH variable must be set for System not for User and
    b) this setting don't take effect until NT restart.

    Hi All,
    OWB configuration is as follows.
    Oracle Warehouse Builder 9.0.2.56.0
    Oracle Warehouse Builder Repository 9.0.2.0
    Windows NT.
My question is there any DEBUG option for Mapping available in OWB ?
I seen this kind of option in other ETL e.g. Informatica Power Mart.
If this option is not available how can pne debug in a mapping to check intemediate results?

The version you are using does not have a point-by-point debugger functionality.

    Igor
