Debugging air 2.6

Hey Guys,
It seems all the new features in 2.6 don't seem to run in the flash ide. When I put them on my iphone they run fine, but how do i trace and debug then.
Is there a way to do that?
Does anyone know of any good posts or examples on how to use the new cameraUI and the cameraRoll?
thanks,

This is what i get when trying to run it from inside of flash ide. Does this happen to you guys as well?
VerifyError: Error #1014: Class flash.media::CameraUI could not be found.

  • Flash Builder 4.7 won't debug air app on Android devices  anymore

    Hi there,
    A strange thing happened today to my Flash Builer 4.7 installation on OS 10.8.5 : it suddenly refused installing and debugging AIR apps.
    At -the famous- 57% of compilation completion I can see the "installing app on device" message, but nothing happens then, and the one minute connection to app timeout is finally triggered.
    I had a look at other threads dealing with this problem here http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1154269 and here http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/02/12/new-android-4-2-2-feature-usb-debug-whitelist-prev ents-adb-savvy-thieves-from-stealing-your-data-in-some-situations/ and I downloaded the latets Android SDK and replaced a bunch of files into the /Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6/sdks/4.6.0/lib/android/bin folder but nothing worked.
    The fun side of the issue is that yesterday it worked, and this morning it did not worked anymore, but I swear I did not ugraded Android on my phone nor I upgraded AIR SDK in FLash Builder or OS X. The Android phone is the same as usual, a Nexus 4 with Android 4.3, that I upgraded 1 month ago.
    I can't debug my Android app anymore, this drives me crazy, and I spent the day trying to find a solution.
    Do you guys had a similar problem ?

    My mistake...
    There was a typo into the XML application descriptor, that prevented the app to install properly on the device.
    Precisely, it wasn't a typo but raher a malformed <intent-filter> node. I launched adb tool from the console with adb install MyApp.apk command, and I saw this : Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_MANIFEST_MALFORMED] in the terminal. From here it was easy to find the culprit.
    What would be cool is to have this feature inside the Flash Builder's Console panel.

  • Can't debug AIR app. No error, app just won't come up

    Hi, my problem is described in title: when I try to debug AIR application it, flex says "[SWF] MyAppName.swf xxxxxxxx bytes after decompression", no errors are shown but the application won't come up. Where's the problem? Thanks

    Well, when I set <visible> tag to true in -app.xml file it returns me this error:
    Process terminated unexpectedly.
    invalid application descriptor: Illegal value "<visible xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.6">true</visible>
    <visible xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/2.6">false</visible>" for application/initialWindow/visible.
    Launch command details:  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\sdks\4.5.1\bin\adl.exe" -runtime "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\sdks\4.5.1\runtimes\air\win" C:\Users\Administrator\Dropbox\Apps\MFTagger\bin-debug\MFTagger-app.xml C:\Users\Administrator\Dropbox\Apps\MFTagger\bin-debug
    Last time I tried it, it didn't connect but before it did so I guess the problem isn't here

    If I create new project... then everything works fine... Export Release Build work very well,
    but if I try to Export Release Build for my large project... then this error comes up.
    I look at my code and no find any errors...
    Build for android works as well, the error comes up when I try to build for iOS.

  • Adl quits unexpectedly - while debugging AIR app in Flash Builder 4.5

    the crash scenario:
         - i'm debugging an AIR app, things are running fine
         - my app is a media rotator and i've set it up to load in images, videos, sounds, and swfs (all good no problems there)
         - the original was built for AIR 2.6 and used the old halo components
          - however, now that i've done the conversions, targeted all spark and mx, and also setup my new AIR 3 SDK (following these instructions http://jeffwinder.blogspot.com/2011/09/installing-adobe-air-3-sdk-in-flash.html)
           when I go from loading a BitmapImage to loading a VideoDisplay element, the adl debugger simply crashes w/ 'adl quit unexpectedly' msg and a massive crash report.
         - it never did this in AIR 2.6 and Flex 4.0 SDK
         - i can load videos in sequence no problem, but the error only occurs when going from bitmap to video.
    Any ideas? It's frustrating because after the crash there's not even an error message in the Console.
    Also, is this really the best practice Adobe approved way of targeting AIR 3?

  • Launch Failed !ApolloLaunchDelegate.fileDoesNotExist! in Flash Builder when debugging AIR apps

    Hi Everyone,
    I've been using flash/flex builder for years, but have never tried to create an AIR application before.  I tried to create a 'hello' world app before porting some of my stuff over by following the instructions here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AIR/1.5/devappsflex/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118676a28bd-8000. html
    but when I try to debug the code I get the a 'Launch Failed' dialog with the unhelpful comment '!ApolloLaunchDelegate.fileDoesNotExist!'.
    I'm running win7x64, SDK 4.1
    I've tried all sorts of different AIR files, including the default when you just create an empty project, and converting copies of some of my existing flex projects to desktop, but they all give the same message.
    Google doesn't help.  Any ideas would be gratefully recieved.
    kenneth
    EDIT: just tried the same thing on my same version of flash builder on my laptop and it works... The laptop runs Vistax64.  The only other different is that when I selected SDK 4.1 in the new project dialog it said it needed AIR 2.0, whereas on this machine is said it needed AIR 1.5

    Hi Anirudh,
    Thank you for your reply.
    My flash builder says that it is version 4.0 (build 272416).  When I checked for updates it said my program was up to date.
    There is a copy of the *-app.xml and .swf in the bin-debug folder
    There are no errors reported in the 'problems' view.
    kenneth
    EDIT: just checked the version on my laptop, says version 4.0.1 (build 277662)
    EDIT: I manually upgraded to version 4.0.1 and this fixed the problem.

  • Debug Air iOS app on device with Flash CS6?

    Hi,
    Is it possible to debug an Air iOS app on device to get all the trace() messages?
    I'm using Flash CS6 with the AIR SDK 16.
    Thanks

    Go to publish settings:
    - Select Quick publishing for device debugging and select your LAN/WIFI adapter IP from the list
    - Install IPA to your device
    - In Flash CS6 go to Debug panel -> Begin Remote Debug Session > ActionScript 3.0
    You will see:
    Waiting for Player to connect...
    in the output panel
    Now launch your application on your device. Be sure that you in the same WiFi network with your desktop. If Flash CS6 can't connect to the device and still waiting for it - try to disable firewall.

  • Can't Run or Debug Air, new install FB4.5

    I just installed CS5.5 with FB4.5.  This machine (Win7) also has Flex3 installed.  I tried importing a project from FB4.1 and it failed to run or debug.  When I request a debug, the console reports "[SWF] LTAWWall.swf - 8,746,129 bytes after decompression", but nothing else.  I can see that adl.exe shows up in the Windows Task Manager process list, but the app window never displays and no traces show up on the console.  No errors are thrown.  When run is requested, adl.exe launches silently and no window is opened.  Adl.exe stays in the process list until manually ended.
    Then I unisntalled and reinstalled FB4.5.  Then I wrote the following:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <s:WindowedApplication xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
                           xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
                           xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx">
        <s:TextArea text="Hello World" verticalCenter="0" horizontalCenter="0" />
    </s:WindowedApplication>
    Trying to run or debug this from FB results in the same behavior as before.  No window, no error messages.  Then I did an export build, ran the .air install file and it ran correctly.
    Any advice on how to get this working would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for this pointer. The culprit, at least for me, seems to be the flashfirebug extension.  It is creating a entry in mm.cfg
    "PreloadSWF=C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\4x152blf.default\exte nsions\[email protected]\chrome\content\flashfirebug\flashfirebug.swf"
    By removing this I was able to get FB4.5.1 working (finally).  I uninstalled flashFireBug. In theory, you can customize the mm.cfg file that it creates (http://www.o-minds.com/products/flashfirebug#settings), but I don't have time to mess with that right now.  It may simply be incompatible.

  • Still Can't Debug AIR 1.5 Applications

    Is there even an official support channel? I've been out of
    commission since Monday with this, and can't find a viable solution
    to my problem. AIR applications simply REFUSE to debug.
    A brand new Air 1.5 application debugs consistently on the
    first launch, but then fails on subsequent launches. The debugger
    process starts, but the swf never gets loaded and it just hangs
    there forever. I'm so screwed at this point.

    Thinking maybe it is something regarding my system
    configuration I installed a clean OS on my box. Same problem, no
    debug. Can run ADL from the command line, and launch the
    applications with ADL from FB3, but can't debug (console output,
    break points) in FB3.

  • Debugging air 1.5 in flex linux alpha 4

    OK, so you are trying to debug the AIR app in Flex Builder
    Linux Alpha 4.
    * First, you need to copy the runtimes/air/linux folder from
    the original SDK that comes with the builder into the latest SDK.
    * Second, copy contents of the same folder from the AIR SDK
    * Third, rename adl into adl_lin in the Air SDK bin folder
    and copy it to the bin folder in the latest sdk. Do the same with
    adt.
    You should now be able to debug the applications written for
    1.5 in Flex Linux! Don't forget to set application's xmlns
    attribute in the descriptor file to
    http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/1.5
    SDK links here -

  • Debugging AIR Startup Failure

    I have an extremely simple Air 2.6/Flex 4.5 application.   I'm compiling the SWF with an external toolset (Maven flexmojos).   I can launch the application fine using adl but it doesn't work as expected.  I see my window pop-up, but I don't see any children of my root application show up.
    Here is my app:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <s:WindowedApplication xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
                           xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
                           preinitialize="windowedapplication1_preinitializeHandler(event)"
                           backgroundColor="yellow">
        <s:layout>
            <s:VerticalLayout />
        </s:layout>
        <s:Panel title="Panel" height="200" width="100" />
    </s:WindowedApplication>
    I'm sure there is something wrong with the SWF, but Air doesn't give me ANY errors in the console or otherwise.  Is there any way to debug this?

    Hi,
    This code is a Hard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure.
    Tester which is built-in the Bios does not always detect all the problems.
    Please test the hard drive by using the instruction from the link below:

  • Compiler options to include cert with debug AIR

    Hi,
    I asked this in the media server forum also, but it occurred to me it may be more specific to here: I'm building an AIR app against protected streams with the app recognised by the cert I use to compile.
    This works great, but for debug, the certs aren't included, so I can't see the streams in debug mode.
    Does anyone know any compiler options I can use to force the debugger compile to be authenticated in the same way?
    Thanks,
    G

    I'm having trouble understanding what change in Sun compilers or in Solaris could have resulted in the change in behavior you report.
    For template code, Sun compilers have always used the automatic inclusion model described in the C++ Users Guide section 5.2, "Template Definitions".
    Specifically, if you include a header foo.h that declares one or more templates, the compiler will automatically include foo.cpp (or foo.cc, foo.C, etc) if it needs a definition of one of those templates. That is, it assumes that template definitions missing from foo.h will be in foo.cpp.
    Does that answer your question?

  • XCode 5.1 updated and now I can't debug AIR apps on iOS Simulator anymore

    Today XCode updated itself to version 5.1, with new iOS 7.1 platform support. It updated itself without asking permission, and now I can't run my AIR apps on the iOS simulator anymore. All my apps fail with the following error:

    I use AIR SDK 4.0.1628 (the latest version according to the SDK download page today), and it doesn't make a difference if I choose another simulator version (7.0 and 6.1 fail the same way).
    I'm developing in Flash Builder 4.7, on OS X 10.9.2
    Any ideas of how to fix this? Will using the AIR 13 beta help?
    Thanks, Frank

    Thanks for the steer Jason that worked,
    So that would be Apache Flex 4.12 using Flex installer 2.7 will bring the same benefits of AIR SDK for Flex 13...... I basically have to use an installer from a third party to make the commercial product I pay for work to solve the precise problem its sold as solving.
    It's like buying a *******' drill you have to put together yourself.
    I'm gonna get this build finished, then sneak into Flash Builders room while it's having a sleep after a big dinner and smother it with a pillow. It's the kindest thing to do. Ha!
    @DavidDragon,
    Follow these steps:
    http://flex.apache.org/doc-getstarted.html
    However just make sure you use the latest version [4.12.0]

  • Impossible to debug AIR Application on Mac OS X Maverick. After several seconds AIR App freezes and Mac OS console displays : adl caught causing excessive wakeups. Can you help on that issue ?

    After launching my app in debug mode, app starts correctly, and after few seconds, apps completely freezes, there is no possibility to pause it, and Mac OS console gives such message :
    06/08/2014 17:27:58,000 kernel[0]: process adl[2941] caught causing excessive wakeups. Observed wakeups rate (per sec): 1278; Maximum permitted wakeups rate (per sec): 150; Observation period: 300 seconds; Task lifetime number of wakeups: 45028
    Note that on another mac, i don't have that issue, with the same application.

    After a lot of searches, at least i have an indication. When i set -debug=false, i don't have the issue anymore. But of course, i can't debug my file, so it is not of a great help, but maybe this will lead to an idea to you all..
    Note that Apple support was indicating me that by creating a new user account on my Mac i could have solved it. I tried, and it seems to work for few hours. But after the problem came back again with my new account.
    Of course still looking for a solution , it is very very annoying.

  • How do debug AIR for iOS

    Hello,
    I've bought Flash Professional CS6 almost an year ago and I'm trying to debug an app that crashes in iOS devices.
    What is the best way to do this?
    I would use Adobe Scout but it doesn't exist anymore as a trial since Adobe introduced Creative Cloud.
    Please help me?
    Thanks

    Are you using the option for "Quick publishing for device testing" upon export to test your app? Then it will stay connected to Flash as you use it on your device and give you relevant debugging information.
    What is going on in your app around the time it crashes? Are you using any device capabilities (camera, etc), accessing the filesystem, using the net, etc?
    What OS are you on? You can test your apps in simulator with instruments running if you're on Mac OSX which can show you a complex but deep heap shot but you should know some obj-c to make good use of it because it names the libraries in use.
