Debugging EnterPrise Service in Process Instances

Hi BPM Experts.
I'm trying to debug EnterPrise Service on BPM(Process Composer).
but, NDWS's debug view is only possible to see Process Context values.
I want to check value of service interface of EnterPrise Services, before and after.
Please tell me how to do it.
Best Regards,
Yuki

Hi Arafat.
thank you for your answer.
i did attempt to edit process context (XSD).
but i couldn't import process context (XSD) to ESR as Data Type.
do i have to use other XSD editter??
error message is below.
"Schema to be handled does not contain a definition of type processcontext"
xsd is below ( BPM tutorial's xsd file)

  • Description of enterprise service message types

    Hello people,
    I'd like to know where to find the description of the parameters of enterpise service operations. For example the operation "Create Invoice" (Process Component: SRM) needs a lot of input parameters. I took a look into the Integration Builder from the ESR, but there was no description for the different message types.
    The problem is: For example I wonder what is the difference between seller party and vendor party or what BillToID means. Without the knowledge of the meaning of the parameters I can't do an invocation.
    If anybody could tell me where to find these information, this would help me very much.
    BTW: Does anybody know a Test-SRM-Server that has an Invoice-ES that I could invoke?
    Thanks a lot,
    Michael

    Hello Michael,
    have you checked out the ES Workplace yet?
    <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/esworkplace">https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/esworkplace</a>
    You get the complete message structure with all parameters for "Create Invoice" and all other enterprise services from there.
    Navigation path is <i>Enterprise Services by Process Components -> Customer Invoice Processing</i> (under SRM) -> Enterprise Service Operation <i>Create Invoice -> detailed field description</i>.
    For an SRM testing system, please check
    <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/explore-es">https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/explore-es</a><i>-> Test-Drive</i> (on top of page) <i>-> HU5</i> .
    For a test user, click on <i>apply for free access now</i> in the same line.
    Hope this helps.

  • Abap Class for Enterprise Service

    Hi guys.
    I've published as webservice in SAP ECC as enterprise service get it in Enterprise Service Workplace.
    I have two questions:
    1- How can I know the abap class associated to this enterprise service.
    2- Could I extend the functionality of this enterprise service? For instance I'd like to response with one more field. Is that possible or I have to create a new one?
    Thaks a lot.
    Regards.

  • How can i easy to publish multiple enterprise services

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to use an enterprise service at multiple clients.
    Now, When create a new enterprise service, I create end point and publish service all the time.
    If we'd like to use multiple enterprise services at multiple clients,
    Do I have to create end point & publish services to each of multiple enterprise services?
    (For instance, 3 clients * 10 enterprise services = 30 creates and publishes ??)
    Could you tell me an easy way to it.
    Thanks
    Masahiro

    We can achieve multiple enterprise services publishing by configuring Service registry between client server and esr.

    Hi Matt
    Till you get exact answer, try indirect approach. I did view page source and could not find the details in the source code. Then I clicked on image to show in new browser and thats when I got this link: You can dig into this imageRenderer.jsp file that can be found in one of the WAR files shown below. Look into EARs also that my have WARs with this jsp. Mostly there should be some sort of Servlet also to display the audit trail. I just checked from bpm/workspace Process Tracking Tab. I did not looked from EM Console tracking tabs though.
    beaHome\Oracle_SOA1\soa\applications\OracleBPMWorkspace.ear has a OracleBPMWorkspace.war file. See if this direction helps

  • How to map business process and enterprise service?

    Recently, I read some documents about ESA. I'm confusing about the relationship between business process and enterprise service. In other word, how to map the business process to enterprise service after the business process is analyzed? Is there any methodology/rule to define business process and wrap them into service in ESA?

    Hi Sherry,
    I like to add some of my thoughts about that discussion. From my point of view ESA is much more than just another BPM or Enterprise BPM. ESA is adresses six key areas and I think all of them are really needed:
    - <b>People Productivity</b> as the word itself describes...it's about portals and productivity.
    - <b>Embedded Analytics</b> has to integrate transactional and analytical content.
    - <b>Service Composition</b> is used for model-driven service composition and services orchestration.
    - <b>Service Enablement</b> is about a Enterprise Services Repository filled with business meaningful Enterprise Services and service patterns for enabled objects. Excactly this is where SAP has years of experiences.
    - <b>Business Process Platform</b> is about service enablement of all application platform objects and engines. This is the place where "BPM" for core business processes resits.
    - <b>Life-Cycle Management</b> has to cover the deployment, configuration, operation and change management for ESA based processes.
    Therefore the term "BPM" is located in serveral layers of an ESA approach. On the level of <u>Business Process Platform</u> BPM is providing the choreography for core business preocesses.
    At <u>Service Enablement</u> BPM needs to compose out of granular services (I would say "atomic" services)
    buiness meaningful services (here we have "molecular" services).
    The third level where BPM could be used is <u>Service Composition</u> because exactly this is the place
    where serveral Enterprise Services could be combined to a process representation.
    To come back to the discussion:
    1. The question should be how to indentify business meaningful services which could represent single process steps. ATP check, Credit card check, ... could be examples. In theory this service could be out-tasked, defined more flexible etc. This means that processes needs to be evaluated for Enterprise Service candidates. Afterwards you can check against SAP's Enterprise Services Repository for already existing Enterprise Services. The evalution for enterprise services candidates will be supported by the metodology mentioned by Kaj and David.
    2. I think domains in this context should be motivated by business and/or functional areas. Depending on the granularity. For example Order Fulfilment Services, Master Data Services, Search Services... These kind of serices can be combined again to services such as "Search of Master Data" (Search Service + Read Master Data Service) etc. or can be used to generate UI to be used in a ESA application.
    Your thoughts?

  • Call Enterprise service in BPM Process

    Hi,
    I define a BPM process for PO creation
    In the first Lane : Purchase requestor
    In the second Lane: Approve Process
    In the third Lane: Create PO(Enterprise Service)
    Here in the first lane iam giving the below attributes
    Requestor Name
    Requestor Country
    Product ID
    Product Descrption
    This will be send to second lane i.e Approver Process
    Once he approved it should create a PO in Hu2 if he reject it should goto first stage
    I consumed Enterprise Service from HU2 and i published in service registry
    Now i created automated activity and imported PO create service in BPM flow seccussfully.
    Now my problem is to write code in webdynpro.
    How to write code for below process?
    In the second lane i.e Approver Process i should write a code that if it approve goto third process i.e call webservice which which creates a PO .If it rejects goto first process??How to write this code?Plz can u help Iam new to coding moreover to webdynpro...
    Regards

    Hi Shwetha,
    The following part of the documentation explains how to prepare your Web Dynpro DC so that it can be used in SAP NetWeaver BPM:
    https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/48/cae1791e774da5e10000000a421937/frameset.htm
    The important thing to know is that SAP NetWeaver BPM is waiting for a complete event to be triggered in your application. Once this is received the process flow continues.
    So in your case you would simply create two Web Dynpro user interfaces. The first one for entering the data and the second one for reviewing / approving / rejecting the data.
    In the first case you would have some sort of "submit" button, which triggers the before mentioned 'complete' event. SAP NetWeaver BPM will then take the data that is visible in the Web Dynpro context of the interface controller and continue the processing.
    The second case basically works the same with one little difference: Here you would have two buttons -  one for the approval and one for rejection. Both will trigger the 'complete' event, but should set a field in the Web Dynpro context (e.g. "isApproved") differently. While the "approve" button should set it to "true" the "reject" button would set it to "false".
    So once this step is also completed you could make use of gateways and conditions (https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/47/635cb242bf6831e10000000a421937/frameset.htm) in your proces model to determine if the data should be passed to the service for PO creaton or if it should handle a different situation in case of a rejection.
    If you're new to SAP NetWeaver BPM it might help having a look at the documentation first and also browse through some sample models as they are provided here:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-bpm?rid=/webcontent/uuid/006a16ad-a3ad-2b10-4e9a-af2ee5820848 [original link is broken]
    Hope that helps,
    Martin

  • Initiating BPM Process Instances from External Web Service Call

    I'm attempting to update the HelloWorld example so that I can create an instance of the process from an External Web Services Call rather than via the Workspace. Our current SOA Architecture is configured so that all BPM instances are managed through a .NET SmartClient via the Service Bus and the use of PAPI W/S and so I'm wishing to recreate this capability in the new BPM.
    I understand the replacement for PAPI W/S is Human Workflow so I've therefore updated and republished the HelloWorld Example with an Exposed 'TaskService' Service for the Human Task within the BPM Process.
    I've then attempted to reference the TaskService through our existing BPM, and have been able to import a number of generic WSDL's as follows:
    Task Service
    http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskService/TaskServicePort?WSDL
    Task Metadata Service
    http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskMetadataService/TaskMetadataServicePort?WSDL
    Task Query Service
    http://vmaquatestapp2:7001/integration/services/TaskQueryService/TaskQueryService?WSDL
    When I examine the available operations for these generic services, there are quite a lot, each of which have a fairly complex schema. I believe I should be using the TaskService: InitiateTask Operation to create an instance of my BPM Process but my questions are:
    - Is the above the correct method of interacting with BPM Instances from an external system such as the Service Bus?
    - Does anyone have any examples of a basic XML payload that would initiate a process instance?

    I created an process with a message start event and can call it from an external web service call. I can also pass input arguments and map those to process data objects. However I can not find how to return data as response to the external web service call as e.g. the process instance id.
    Is it possible to this?

  • How to change the attribute of process instance by PAPI web service

    Is it possible to change the value of the attribute of one process instance by PAPI web servcie?
    thanks!

    That information is stored in the table PPROCINSTANCE in the engine database in the column instancedata, it is a blob.

  • OIM 10g : SQL Script to Delete or Cancel process instance tasks for user resources

    Hello,
    I have users with a resource with a process instance that have a large number (1000) of task instance related to reconciliations (Reconciliation Update Received).
    And when trying to revoke this resource, OIM take a long time to perfom this job, it is due to the fact that all this taks are canceled one by one...
    My question is : I want to perform manualy using a script this cancel of all this tasks, or maybe better, delete all this tasks when there'are too many, can someone provide me this sql scripts.
    Thanks in advance.

    I'm running this script into an adapter with the following code :
    public boolean clearTaskInstances(String user_key, String process_name, String task_name) throws OIMException {
      $logger.debug("Utils.clearTaskInstances() : Inside deleting task instances debug 1");
      tcDataProvider provider = getOIMConnection().getDataBase();
      $logger.debug("Utils.clearTaskInstances() : Inside deleting task instances debug 2");
    String query = "DELETE FROM OSI WHERE OSI.MIL_KEY=" +
      "(SELECT MIL.MIL_KEY FROM MIL WHERE MIL.TOS_KEY=" +
      "(SELECT TOS_KEY FROM TOS LEFT JOIN PKG ON PKG.PKG_KEY=TOS.PKG_KEY WHERE PKG.PKG_NAME=" +
      "'" + process_name + "') AND MIL.MIL_NAME='" + task_name + "'" +
      "AND OSI.ORC_KEY IN (SELECT ORC.ORC_KEY FROM ORC WHERE ORC.USR_KEY='" + user_key +"'))";
      $logger.debug("Utils/clearTaskInstance : Delete Query = " + query);
      PreparedStatementUtil preparedStatement = new PreparedStatementUtil();
       preparedStatement.setStatement(provider, query);
       try {
       preparedStatement.executeUpdate();
      $logger.debug("Utils/clearTaskInstance : Delete Query executed");
      return true;
      } catch (Exception e) {
      $logger.error("Utils/clearTaskInstance : Error while executing Delete Query : " + e);
      return false;
    , but this generate 18M of SQL error logs !!
    The same SQL request in SQL Dev works fine, the same code with OIM 11gR2 works fine too, the problem seems to be only with OIM 9.1.
    The first lines in the logs are :

  • SAP XI versus Sonic's Enterprise Service Bus

    Hi,
    Question 1:
    In David Chappell's book 'Enterprise Service Bus', the Sonic ESB is described. He says that the ESB is more than a hub-and-spoke integration broker: ESB is a MOM and above that several 'generic' services, which handle the traffic and routing on the bus, for instance:
    - Transformation service
    - Content based routing service
    - Orchestration service
    - Splitter service
    - Etc.
    Is this concept adopted in ESA? If so how is this functionality implemented?
    Question 2a: does XI uses xCBL as a XML-dialect?
    Question 2b: does XI make use of the canonical-XML concept (by using xCBL) ?
    Thanks in advance!
    Greetings Theo

    As answer on question 1:
    No I never found any documentation from SAP that described a ESB solution. So al the knowledge must come from other vendors in your case from Sonic.
    But there is hope you can use XI in a ESB way. You must only (add) configure the ESB parts. This is done by adding a service repository for example the UDDI server in combination with some BPML engine.
    By adding it al together you can execute your business processes over multiple system platforms using SOAP in a synchronic way.
    This is the basic concept of a ESB.
    The answer to question 2.
    I don’t know if XI has build in support, but a know that there are free tools that can handle Canonical XML. So you can make a service your self to handle the Canonical XML documents.

  • Process instances do not show in BPEL Console

    Hi all,
    I have a BPEL, which reads a files from a particular folder if any, Process records in that file and then stores it in database.
    I am facing a problem, my records gets processed, this BPEL works fine, as i can see the output in database, however associated instances are not shown in the BPEL Console. But if i restart the process (i.e. Switch OFF the process and Again Switch ON) it shows me all the previous instances and also the current instances. But sometime again this problem occurs.
    Has anyone faced the same issue? Please let me know in case anyone has solution.
    Thanks in advance.

    [http://download.oracle.com/technology/tech/soa/soa_best_practices_1013x_drop3.pdf|http://download.oracle.com/technology/tech/soa/soa_best_practices_1013x_drop3.pdf] I found below in SOA best practices guide:
    Why Does the Instance of an Invoked Process Not Display in Oracle BPEL Control?
    If the process invoked is asynchronous, the message headers and payload are stored in
    the invoke_message table. The invocation message is then processed by a
    background thread to create an asynchronous BPEL process instance. If an error is
    encountered while processing the invocation message, the transaction is rolled back
    and the invoke message remains in its unhandled state in the invoke_message table.
    See "How Does an Invoke Message and Activity Display in the Manual Recovery
    Page?" on page 1-18 for more details on this scenario.
    If the process invoked is synchronous, the cause for the missing instance is likely a
    transaction rollback. The reasons for a transaction rollback are as follows:
    ■ Third party manipulation of the JTA transaction. As described in "How Do I Force
    a Rollback in a BPEL Flow?" on page 1-5, a failed database adapter invocation can
    cause the TopLink layer to mark the JTA transaction for rollback. Because Oracle
    BPEL Server relies on the JTA transaction for persistence (not just as a signaling
    mechanism between transaction-aware modules), any changes to the status of the
    transaction impact Oracle BPEL Server’s ability to dehydrate the instance.
    ■ Transaction timeout. The synchronous process may be invoking one or more
    backend synchronous services; the total time of all the backend calls may exceed
    the timeout value for the transaction. See "How Do I Modify Transaction Timeout
    Settings for Oracle BPEL Server?" on page 1-9 for details on how to increase the
    transaction timeout value.
    ■ Failure to dehydrate the synchronous instance to the database. If the
    completionPersistPolicy is set to on, the instance attempts to save itself
    before returning to the caller. Typically, errors are encountered during this step if
    the database connection has been severed or the tablespace is full. Some customers
    Transactions
    Oracle BPEL Process Manager 1-9
    have encountered problems with saving the audit trail of the instance. For
    example, there are problems with JDBC batching in 10.1.3.1.0 that the audit trail
    persistence code uses. When a synchronous invocation does not result in an
    instance visible from Oracle BPEL Control (assuming that
    completionPersistPolicy is set to a value of on, deferred, or faulted),
    use the following steps to find the underlying error:
    – Enable all loggers to debug mode.
    – Resubmit the invocation message.
    – Check the Oracle Process Manager and Notification Server (OPMN) or
    command-line log for the underlying exception stack trace.

For example, I have entered an instance of a process for 'John Smith' with a date of '4/1/2010' and I want to see if there is another instance in the same process with these same data values to evaluate as a potential duplicate. I believe we can write a java service to invoke the API to do this, but I am wondering if there is a better way within the process design to do this (XPath extension functions or soemthing?). It seems like this would be a common need.

    I am really looking for an approach to looking for duplicate instances within my process flow, not from EM. So, if the user starts a new instance of a process, I can check for another instance that appears to be a duplicate and direct the flow to a human activity to review the potential duplicate and make a decision as to whether to continue processing the new instance or reject it. My guess is that we need to us a service task to invoke java code which uses the API to investigate other instances with the same values. But, I was hoping for a simpler solution....I have to think that this is not too uncommon.

    $logger.debug("provisionUnipassResource - Getting userObiKey : " + userObiKey);
    //Getting objectKey of userObjectInstanceKey
    String ObjectKey = "";
    String ProcessInstanceKey = "";

    for (int i1 = 0; i1 < resultSetObjects.getRowCount(); i1++) {
    resultSetObjects.goToRow(i1);
    ObjectKey = resultSetObjects.getStringValue("Object Instance.Key");
    ProcessInstanceKey = resultSetObjects.getStringValue("Process Instance.Key");
    if (Long.valueOf(ObjectKey).equals(userObiKey))
    $logger.debug("provisionUnipassResource - ProcessInstanceKey found with value [" + ProcessInstanceKey + "] for ObjectKey [" + ObjectKey + "]");
