Decimal Conversion

Hi
I have a requirement.
If I get a double number as 0.721, i should be able to convert it to 0.73
Any quick solutions for the same ? I have some round about solutions in mind.
Thanks

My requirement is - If i have a value such as 0.821 it should display 0.83
I tried the NumberFormat and DecimalFormat API's. However I am still not getting what I wanted.
NumberFormat formatter = new DecimalFormat("000000");
//String s = formatter.format(0.821);
formatter = new DecimalFormat("#.##");
String s = formatter.format(0.821);
I am getting 0.82

  • Decimal conversion in abap

    hi,
i have been trying to do this.
'Let the user populate field with a value with 2 decimals but make always the conversion for the record
If a currency is managed with 3 decimals, apply rule of around with the top or with the lower. For example, 11.555 become 11.56 and 11.554 become 11.55.
If a currency is managed without decimal, apply the same rule. For example 11.49 become 11 and 11.50 become 12.
This conversion rules are use for the display and the record function of ZVA02N and ZVA02
Other currencies must work as today. For user, the modification have to be invisible when he use standard currencies with 2 decimals.
the problem is i am unable to do so.
can someone help me on this.

  • Decimal conversion of Sales Tax in 'SPARE PARTS SALE INVOICE' ( smart form)

    Hello,
I am displaying a the value of the Sales Taxc in 'SPARE PARTS SALE INVOICE'. (in Smart Form)
The field(which holds the Sales Tax value is 'KWERT' -LBBIL_INVOICE-IT_KOND ), with datatype 'CURR', reference table 'KOMK' and reference field 'WAERK'.
In my smart form,i have declared a variable 'SALES_VALUE' of datatype 'KWERT' and reference field 'IT_PRICE-WAERK' (LBBIL_INVOICE-IT_PRICE), where 'WAERK' is the SD document currency.
Now when i display the field 'SALES_VALUE' i get 735.00 , whereas the original value in the field is 73.5
how to correct this and where am i wrong ?
Thankyou for yur time and really appreciate the help.
    Shehryar

You are using currency fields that reference a currency code. Most currencies in SAP have two decimal places. Dividing by 100 will work in most cases. Ideally you should get the CURRDEC value in table TCURX for the currency you are working with... then divide by 10 that number of times.
    example-
USD, 2 decimals, divide by 10 twice.
There is a function module that will do this for you. Can't think of the name...???

  • CHARACTER TO DECIMAL Conversion

    hi all ,
i get data from a flat file for one column i am getting
    65900
    650
    754399
    for eg : 65900
i should insert into table as 659.00
    for : 754399
i should insert into table as 7543.99
The last two digits should be separated i cant change the datatype ..it is now character .i want to load decimal data
if i get 65 only i hav to load 65.00
    THANKS IN ADVANCE..

You aren't going to load information as 659.00 into the database - that's a format issue. You just load it as 659.
Here's a quick example of how you can do it using CASE:
    with t as (
select 65900 num1 from dual UNION ALL
select 650 num1 from dual UNION ALL
    select 754399 num1 from dual
    select case
             when num1 < 1000 then to_number(num1)
             when num1 < 10000 then to_number(num1/10)
             else to_number(num1/100)
           end actual_num
    from t;
    ACTUAL_NUM
    659
    650
    7543.99
3 rows selectedYou will have to modify the case statement to reflect the exact logic you want - I was just taking a guess there.

  • Decimal conversion error (Data Integrator 11.7.000)

Did someone encoutered this error? Any solution?
    1004     3488     RUN-050802     06/01/2009 10:43:23     Cannot convert data <-.91> into type <DECIMAL>. Context: Column <Project Column AIColumn7>.
It happens when I try to perform a multiplication of a number with -0.91
    Thanks

this seems to be happening for a specific optimization plan
tried with 11.7.3.0 and oracle 9i, since the query is not getting pushed down so most likely not a issue with database
I am trying to reproduce this using 2 source table and multiplying 2 columns in mapping by selecting a int column from one table and decimal (6,2) column from other table and output is also decimal (6,2)
is there anything else in the mapping expression for the other column, which might be creating multiple nodes for optimizer
can you give some more information about the DF, like outer join, where condition
since you mentioned both the source are oracle, why is the expression not getting pushed down ?

  • Convert varchar to decimal - arithmetic overflow

I'm using SQL Server 2014 and I'm trying to convert data from a staging table over to a production table. I seem to be getting an Arithmetic overflow error converting varchar to numeric on the decimal conversion. I'm sure I've overlooked something with the
    syntax of the CONVERT.
    This is the staging table:
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[staging_table](
    [TimeIndex] [varchar](100) NULL,
    [Cluster] [varchar](100) NULL,
    [AvgMem] [varchar](100) NULL,
    [AvgCPU] [varchar](100) NULL,
    [TotalMemory] [varchar](100) NULL,
    [TotalCPU] [varchar](100) NULL,
    [Datacenter] [varchar](100) NULL,
    [vCenter] [varchar](100) NULL
    ) ON [PRIMARY]
This is the prod table I'm moving it to:
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Clusters](
    [ClusterID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
    [ClusterName] [varchar](25) NULL,
    [DatacenterName] [varchar](25) NULL,
    [TimeIndex] [datetime] NULL,
    [AvgCPU] [decimal](5, 2) NULL,
    [AvgMem] [decimal](5, 2) NULL,
    [TotalCPU] [decimal](8, 2) NULL,
    [TotalMem] [decimal](8, 2) NULL,
    [vCenterID] [int] NULL,
    CONSTRAINT [PK_Clusters_1] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED
    [ClusterID] ASC
    )WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY]
    ) ON [PRIMARY]
and here's an example INSERT INTO statement throwing the error:
    INSERT INTO [dbo].[Clusters] (ClusterName,DatacenterName,TimeIndex,AvgCPU,AvgMem,TotalCPU,TotalMem,vCenterID)
    SELECT SUBSTRING(Cluster,1,25) AS ClusterName,
    SUBSTRING(Datacenter,1,25) AS DatacenterName,
    CONVERT(datetime,TimeIndex,103) AS TimeIndex,
    CONVERT(decimal(5,2),AvgCPU) AS AvgCPU,
    CONVERT(decimal(5,2),AvgMem) AS AvgMem,
    CONVERT(decimal(8,2),TotalCPU) AS TotalCPU,
    CONVERT(decimal(8,2),TotalMemory) AS TotalMem,
    '3' FROM [dbo].[staging_table]
Sample data is 0.00 to 100.00 in fields AvgCPU and AvgMem, and TotalCPU and TotalMem usually goes up to about 7 digits with no decimal (eg. 7543253) but could be 8 and although I've never seen a decimal I wouldn't rule it out so decided to account for it.
I assume it's something I've overlooked with the syntax but any ideas would help.
    Thanks
    Adam

The problem is your precision and scale you are assigning to your decimals.
decimal(5,2) = this is a total of 5 digits, 3 digits for the whole number and 2 for the fractional.
decimal(8,2) = this is a total of 8 digits, 6 digits for the whole number and 2 for the fractional.
So converting a varchar of 7 or 8 digits for TotalCPU or TotalMem will give you an error because your definition will actually only allow for 6 digits of storage. You could test this by doing decimal(8,0) or decimal(10,2) both which will allow for up to
    8 whole numbers.
If you are worried about space Sql Server will allocate a set number of bytes for ranges based on the precision (first number in the parenthesis). See this page which explains in detail how much space each range takes up and also further details on
    decimal and numerics.

The above error are also present in the other Process log files.
But when i saw the installation logs of the Source system the same errors are also there(but it was still Sucessfull Standard installation).
there is one difference as well I am SQL SP3 (8.00.780) but existing Production server is SQL SP3(8.00.929).
My installation is stoppoing here with error While executing Script.
I've done Homogenous copy on WiN-ORACLE many times but on WIN-SQL i am doing very first time.
While installation database phase it asked me for EXPORT CD twice first time for standard(which usually we got with SAP Software) and Second time for Migration EXPORT. that is different from ECC5.0 i think.
    Any suggestions?

  • How do I replace the Hard drive in my iMac?

I have a GREEN iMac (333 Mhz, 128 MB RAM, and a tray loading CD-ROM in front) and the original OS is OS 9.1 and I upgraded to OS X 10.3.5. When I installed Panther, it took up just about all of my HDD. I have a Western Digital 10 GB HDD and I want to Install it and then re-install Panther but I can not figure out how to get to the HDD to remove it. I have see posts for the RED and GREY iMacs, but they did not look like mine so I am not sure they would be revelent, or are they? I am a NEWLY converted MAC person from IBM PC's. HELP!!
    Worf
iMac G3 333 mhz (Green)   Mac OS 9.1.x   CD-ROM Tray Loader

The firmware upgrade can only be done while booted from a writeable drive (CD-ROM is not good enough) running Mac OS 9.1 to 9.2.2.
Once the firmware update is in, it should accept up to the two SO-DIMMs I described above.
Hard drives up to just under 128 GB (which sometimes reads like 137 GB because of binary-to-decimal conversion) should be supported. There are size limits, and an older drive may throw off too much heat to be reliable and long-lived in that enclosure.
This article indicates that tray-load iMacs are on the list of "OSX must be installed on a partition completely within the first 8 GB of the drive":

  • Shared variable engine modbus - Getting a stepper motor to work

    Hello,
I am new to Labview. I need to trigger the stepper motor to start by allowing current to run through the motor. This can be done by turning bit3 on the16 bit register 007Dh. The register address has been attached below as 007Dh.png so please view that before you go any further to have a better sense of what i'm trying to accomplish. Please also note that the decimal conversion of 007Dh is 125.
So my question is, how do you turn on bit3 of that 16 bit address? How would you translate the holding registers from the manual
into a 5-6 digit data item that labview can understand?
(Please refer to this page for the types of data items: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371618J-01/lvmve/dsc_modbus_using/)

    007Dh.png ‏17 KB

    Hello Frank,
Thank you for the help with the modbus slave simulator, everything worked just fine. However I still can't get the real device to work with labview. I am wonding if you can answer a question for me as I am not sure I can do what I want with the equipment I have.
What I need to do is turn a stepping motor on and off using Labview as well as get Labview to record the speed and position of the stepping motor over time. I have an AED-AD stepping motor driver made by Oriental Motors. I have attached the user manual in case you need to see it. I am conecting the motor driver device to a computer using an RS485 converter, which oriental motors suggested I use for the purpose of using Labview to collect data.
My question is, will this setup work for what I need to do, or do I need some kind of data aquisition device as well?
After I solve this, I will be adding three more motors to the Labview program monitoring the same thing as well as some pressure sensors.
I have just finished my second year in the engineering program and have been hired as a research assistant to solve this problem so I am completely new to Labview. If there is anything else you can suggest to read or someone I can talk to to get more information about this type of control systems I would be very greatful. So far, I have been reading as much stuff as I can find about Labview on the internet but I have not come across anything that helps me figure out if my setup is appropriate for collecting data in Labview.
Thank you again for your help and advice! I hope you are having a great weekend!
    Kind Regards,
    Meesh
