Deep Structures in Adobe Forms

Are deep structures allowed within Adobe Forms?
I keep getting the error "Exception condition "TYPE_NOT_FOUND" raised" when I try to enter the form layout. In the context view, the deep structure is visible; however, the DATA segment of the nested table does not reveal the contents of that table. I have verified that all elements of the deep structure have been activated down to the domain level.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have never faced a depth limitation in Adobe forms. I have developed forms with 5-6 levels of data hierarchy, using tables of tables of tables and have not noticed any problem (except the performance:))).
I recommend to check the DDIC types used in the form. Something could have been deleted, altered or something.
I have also faced a problem when some fields could not have been used in form even if it was a proper standard SAP data type. Here I can recommend using your own type and map the standard fields which cause problems into your fields and next to the form.
You can debug your problem deactivating the nodes of the DDIC structures you use. Right-click in context on a element you want to deactivate. You can find the field which causes the problem this way.

I am converting smartform into adobe forms. While converting the program code in the code initialization of the smart forms also get transformed to adobe forms the problem is my internal table is of type deep structure while passing it through the tables parameter i am getting error in adobe forms .But while passing the internal table through import parameter its not giving error.The same code works fine with smartforms. I dont know why its not taking the structure of internal table in adobe forms properly .It happens only for deep strucure formal normal tables it works fine in table parameters .If any one has come across this scenario please share your ideas.

If I were you, I would never do this through any program. The only secure, reliable way is to rewrite everything by your own hands. Even if we could argue, your way works as well (and could be faster at the beginning), at the firt moment you will be asked to perform any tiny change in this "imported" thing, you will cry your eyes out (and understand why it is the only useful way to rewrite everything manually).

Can i use deep structures in Interactive form interface?

I am trying to assign a standard_SAP_deep_structure to DATA SOURCE (dataSource) of Adobe Interactive Form UI Element of my_view. System is activating fine. But, when i open the Form and its assoiated interface in SFP transaction (or dbl clicking from webdynpro), i did not see all tree branches components of that standard_SAP_deep_structure, i saw only first branch with out any subbranches!
In SE11, the standard_SAP_deep_structure looks like below,

How to create a Webservice for Adobe Form(I need Coding)?

Hi,
I need coding for Webservice inorder to define the context structure for Adobe Form.
In AdobeForm:
1) I create a dataconnection and while creating it i need to give WSDL Url.
2) I have created it.
3) But iam not getting the Context structure in the Dataview.
For this wht coding i need to write in WSDL File?
Any Help is Highly aprreciated with Points.

If you are facing an issue with what is displayed in the data view for the WSDL data connection (i.e you are missing nodes) you could try to use Designer 8.0 instead since it cotains bug fixes in that area.

Migration 7.31. to 7.40 Adobe forms.

Dear experts.
After migration from nw 7.31 to 7.40 some adobe forms with java-script code ( used to fill a table and calculate values in columns ) add lines at end of the table with ZERO value in calculated columns.
Is it a known migration problem? Before de migration this form is created fine but it is possible that code is a bit robust or ... other documented issue.
Do you have any idea?

I am currently working with David in this problem. Just wanted to add some more data.
We launch the Adobe Form in our WebDynpro, we have an InteractiveForm component and in the templateSource field we are using our Adobe Form. This Adobe Form is producing empty lines in some tables with zero as value, as stated by David.
This morning we tried to launch the function module generated automatically for our Adobe Form (/1BCDWB/SMXXXXXXX) I noticed that in the function module we can inform the "1BCDWB/DOCPARAMS" structure, this structure appears in every interface but it doesn't appear on the Adobe Form or in the WebDynpro related context (generated automatically for the Adobe Form).
If we launch the Adobe Form this way AND we only inform the "DYNAMIC" field of the structure the Adobe Form works just fine, if instead we inform "DYNAMIC, UPDATE_INTERACTION_CODE and FILLABLE" fields we get the same errors as when we launch the Adobe Form in our WebDynpro.
Hence:
- By default this structure seems to inform all three fields for the Adobe Form, triggering the error.
- If somehow we can set the values of this structure in our WebDynpro we will probably solve our problem.
We have checked many posts of people which seem to launch the Adobe Form in their WebDynpro directly by calling its related function module (/1BCDWB/SMXXXXXXX), but we are not making this, we just map the data to the WebDynpro's context and the Adobe Form is called automatically.
Is there any way to set the values of structure "1BCDWB/DOCPARAMS" from the WebDynpro? Or maybe set its values by default to only the Dynamic field informed.
We are looking to solve this, if we find the solution we will post it here.

Simple Transformation from Adobe Form XML document to Dictionary structures

I have an XML document that I am receiving via email (the XML document is generated from an Adobe Interactive form). I would like to write a simple transformation that will map that XML document to a structure and internal table in my ABAP program. I am new to Simple Transformations and I am having trouble working out how to write a simple transformation for this type of XML document. I would prefer to write a custom transformation rather than using the identity transformation (ID). I would appreciate any help you can provide.
Please refer to the below for an example of the XML file.
This maps directly to 2 dictionary structures that exist within our system containing all of the same components. PIM_REQUEST_HDR has a corresponding SAP dictionary structure Y_REQUEST_HDR and PIM_REQUEST_ITEMS has a corresponding SAP dictionary structure Y_REQUEST_ITEMS.
Can anyone help with some instructions or examples of how to create the simple transformation?

Fillable PDF Form messes up layout and structure in Adobe Readers 7 or 8

Hi Team,
I have designed a Fillable PDF Form in Live Cycle Designer 8.2.1, the form works perfectly well in Adobe Reader versions 9.0 or greater,
but messes up layout and structure in Adobe Readers 7 or 8 or older versions.., more over users are having problems, saving data.
I have Acrobat Professional with Adobe Reader Extensions, but still having issues, could any one please help,

Page break,sub total and grand total in adobe forms

In adobe forms, i am displaying purchase order details in table format. internal table contains 150 records but it displaying
only 50 records in single page. how i have to call a new page,how i have to create a page preak and i want to display only
5 records for a page with carry forward,page total and total net value.

For the table content to flow onto the next pages please make sure that the outermost subform is NOT with the content property "Positioned".
For having only 5 records per page, you can design a deep structure with fields:
Table 1 (The table which will hold 5 records per page)
Page total
total net value
Have the table type of it defined in the form.
Put the logic for filling the table in such a way that each row of this nested table has 5 records and pagetotal and total net value.
then put it inside a subform and check the checkbox for "rpeat subformt for each data item".
Another way is to use Conditional breaks in Pagination tab.

Creation of UI elements on click of a button in ADOBE form

Hello Experts,
I have a requirement which is ,
on the ADOBE form after pressing some action Button i need to create a row of UI elements like Textbox label and Radio button with the values coming from Backend WDA application.
Number of rows created are equivalent to number of times button is clicked.
Also in some cases i have to preload the rows with the existing data.
Please let me know if this requirement can be accomplished in ADOBE form.
Any inputs ,Suggestion and help will be very helpful.

I resolved this by creating elemnts in WD context on click of a button in ADOBE form,And in form i used the WD context structure as a table with required cell editors.
PDF form should be of type dynamic in this case.

Read table data from Adobe Form in WD method

When I test the application,this method returns SY-SUBRC is 0 but internal table is "always empty".
I have also individual attributes in the context which are read correctly.Only get_static_attribute_table doesn't read the table content.Please could any one help me where would be the problem.

If you are trying to add data to a standard SAP table then you should use a FM or BAPI for that but if the table is not standard then you can use following steps but it would be better to do it using FM or BAPI.
Do the following(without FM/BAPI):
1. Crate a context in your view mapped to the fields of the database table.
2. Now use this context as the data source for the form.
3. Map the fields of the form with the attributes of the context.
4. Now create a button on the form or on your view which has a action event handler method.
5. In the method use code wizard to read the context attached to adobe form. By default it will create a structure containing data, which will be sufficient for adding one record at a time.
6. Now use this structure to add data to table using SQL queries.
Do the following for FM/BAPI integration:
1. Create a FM/BAPI which has the functionality to add data to your SAP table.
2. Now use service call to add the FM/BAPI fields as a context to your web dynpro component's context.
3. Now map it with the view where the adobe form is created.
4. Follow steps 2nd, 3rd and 4th as above.
5. Now in your Action method use code wizard to call the method created by service call to FM/BAPI.
This will work as required.

How to use SAP Business Workflow along with Interactive Adobe Form

I am working on SAP Business Workflow since last couple of years.
Now i have got a new Project where client wants to use SAP Business Workflow along with Interactive Adobe Form.
I am new to Interactive Adobe Form and Portal thing and i really dont know from where to start.
We have one central system and 2 local systems. when we do create a Material document using adobe form workflow should trigger and notification should go to group of users who can approve or reject it, once they approve it document gets created in central system and replicated to 2 local system through ALE.
In the Local system they do extend the document to different plants, again workflow triggers and notification will go to Managers inbox for the approval.
Once the final approval done data should go and store in SAP.
Now here i have couple of Questions.
1. In SAP R3 Business workflow when i execute the workitem from the inbox i do get the application screen ( i.e. MM01 MRP View ) , what is going to happen if the same case i have with Adobe form?? is it possible or do we have to design a adobe form and we will have to map the fields with backend application??
2. Do i have to maintained 3 separate Org Structure for 3 different system or using UWL i can manage the show
3. Untill final submit is not done, where the application data is going to be, is there any kind of buffer that we will have to keep it or its there with XML file??

Welcome to ADOBE Forms related Workflow Development. Well, here are my answers.
1) You can go for either go for ISR based development or WD development with Adobe form. In both the cases you can achieve your requirement. Yes, you will have to design the Adobe form and bind the fields to backend.
2) Am not clear or your System landscape to advice you in these regards.
3) Until final Submit/Approval is done, the data can be stored in WORKFLOW CONTAINERS or XML FORM(If you go for ISR based Development).

How to have multi select dropdowns for web request and adobe forms

Hi All,
I am working on interactive forms for CRM 7.0 using web request and ZCI layout.
When I say web request we define the fields required for the form in CRM that becomes the context for WDA and passed onto Adobe form.
This web request is a flat structure which mean if I have a node and attributes with in that you cant have multiple values to wards this node as in WDA.
Now My query:
I have a field called "xyz" since web request is a flat structure i just defined it as a string.
In WDA I made it a enumrated field and added key value pairs to it.
In Adobe form I binded this field to a WD native enum dropdown list every thing is fine untill here.
Now in the form I need this as a multiple select, so i changed the dropdown field to list box it works.
The form has to be submitted as a draft version when did so, it will not execute any APIs but saves the data to the web request.
When the same form is opened for the next time, with the data in web request it should reopen this field with the multiple seleced values high lighted.
since the field xyz is a single filed of string, how can i maintain multiple values in that...?
if there is a form status auto save function in Adobe form this might solve a bit but not sure when the form is opened 2nd time from web reqest view does it consider it as a new one or open the same form...?
I have such dropdown fields and problems including ones with depenedt values on one another.
I tried my best to explain the problem, if somebody can help me with this its much appriciated.
Note: Since this is dependent on CRM web request I am posting the same query in that block also apologies if this mean a duplicacy.

Access a variable in the Adobe form for Java Scripting

I am unable to know how to access the variable in a Adobe form.
The variable is field of an internal table. My adobe form structure is as follows
MAIN_PAGE->FORMSET->FirstFORM->EXT.
in the EXT subform the variable(cust) exists.
The cust is in turn an internal table.

I think we cannot hide a page. as in, page is the main container. In a container, we can hide any field using some scripting. Even though if we hide the field, it is present on page but not visible.

How to transfer Internal table to a Adobe form? ....urgent...

I need to put the data in individual fields in the adobe form.
I'm working on Adobe Interactive form developed in WDP ABAP.( I have successfully config the ADS in my server.)
Action:
1. There are 1 table in the Adobe Interactive form((Adobeform)created by the 'sfp' t-code.
a) create a interface with a structure(A_STRU).
b) create a form with the interface.
c) In the layout of the form, drag a table to the form.
d) Binding the table to the A_STRU.
e) Binding the fields of the table to the fields of the structure.
2. Create a view -
first_view in the WDP ABAP.
3. In the first_view, there is a Interactiveform ( named "adobe_form" ) to be binding the Adobe Interactive form (Adobeform).
4. Type the code in the wddoinit of the first_view for bindding the internal table to context of the adobe interface.

I am working on the CRM business partner creation by using Interactive adobe form with following steps:
1) Uploaded the offline Interactive adobe form to online interactive adobe form via WebDynpro ABAP;
2) Capture XML data into corresponding BAPI structures;
3) Save all the changes to database via BAPI.
The adobe form contains customer information as well as several table views which are bind with the context created in WebDynpro: Node NEW_BP_NODE cardinality 1:1 with single attributes and table type attributes (1:n): COLOUR_COMP, MEN_COMP etc.
While converting the xml format data to SAP context format, It is fine to use following routine to find the single attribute and map to the BAPI structure to do the database update.
NODE = DOCUMENT->FIND_FROM_NAME( NAME = 'XYZu2019).
XYZ = NODE->GET_VALUE( ).
Question: how to convert the xml table data to SAP context format in WebDynpro ABAP?

Hi,
Just follow these steps:
1. Create interactive form UI element in your view.
2. Now provide Datasource and PDFSOURCE to it in form properties.
3. Now give a template name prefix with 'Z' or 'Y'.
4. Double click on it. It will prompt for interface name.
5. Provide interface name prefixed with 'Z' or 'Y'.
6. Click on Context button in the Pop up window and provide the node you have selected as DATASOURCE.
7. Click ok and it will open the form designer.
8. In this way you can create a XML Schema based Form.
9. Activate the interface and design the form providing layout type and other details.
