Defining port for a proxy at runtime.

HELLO FRIENDS...
Is there anyway we can define the port for a proxy at runtime ?
THANK
PranaV.

Interesting scenario.
Never tried it, but my thought is that even if you can achieve this dynamically, it will not be a very performant solution. Also what is the requirement which makes you take this route to dynamic lov region?

    Hi Milan,
    this kind of error occurs when there is no service and end point description in the WSDL of provider who's service you are trying to consume using Consumer Proxy.
    Just open the provider's WSDL URL that you have given while creating Logical port for the consumer proxy   and check if service and end point exists there.

  • Dynamic Host and Port for Web Proxy

    hi,
    When I create a web proxy in JDev I supply the hostname and the port for the web service. The code is then compiled and then deployed. However I want the host and port to be dynamic (kept in a varaible) so when I move my deployment from Development to Test server I just need to change a value in a database or text file. I don't want to re-compile and deploy the code when I move servers. Is there any way to do this??
    Thanks

    Hi,
    not so in the WSDL file that is created. If from the client side access, then WS poxy classes allow you to do this

  • Changing port for OAM proxy

    Hi all
    I need to change the port for the OAM proxy which is 5575 because this port is already in use for a different application , how can I do that ?
    Is this change going to break the access gate for OIM , I have OIM OAM integration scenario
    Thanks

    If i understand you right then .....i guess what you need is to have console on a differnt port than the http listen port ....for this you can use Administartion port.....in your console go to the domain tab and in that Enable Administaration port and then you can use this port for the administrative traffic.....so the new url for consle will be t3s://ipaddress:adminport/console..please test this in a test enviornment first......
    The other thing you were telling about is to change the context root for the console application ...you can do this in the same domain tab under configuration ...in the advanced tab you would see Console Context Path...just modify (sayfor eg: MyConsole) this and then you can use that value to bring up your console...http:ipaddress:port/MyConsole.....
    Both the above changes needs a restart of admin server......
    try in a test enviornment first.....
    Hope this answers your question .....

  • How to Assign Logical port for a standar Consumer proxy

    Hello,
    I'm working with a SAP application creating a WS Connector that ask me for the following data:
    - Class name:
    - Logical Port name:
    As far as I have read SAP delivers for this application an example implementation for the following web service: ProductionBillOfMaterialVariantBasicDataByMaterialAndPlantQueryResponse_In with the /BCV/CL_SIN_WS_BOM class.
    And the help also says that We can find the example implementation delivered by SAP for the Web service ProductionBillOfMaterialVariantBasicDataByMaterialAndPlantQueryResponse_In in the package /BCV/SIN_PRX, under Service Consumer /BCV/CO_PRODUCTION_BILL_OF_MAT
    In se80 transaction under /BCV/SIN_PRX package I can find /BCV/CO_PRODUCTION_BILL_OF_MATERIAL consumer proxy.
    As far as I know, I just need to assign a Logical port to this proxy.
    So, I go to soamanager transaction under "Service-Administration" --> "Single Service Configuration" and find this Consumer proxy. Then, under Configuration tab I select "Create logical port" option but I need to fill an URL for WSDL access.
    Where can I find this URL? I think that I need to provide de WSDL URL (end point) of the ProductionBillOfMaterialVariantBasicDataByMaterialAndPlantQueryResponse_In Web Service but I can't find it on the soa manager. Or maybe I need to implement a WS by my own WB using the /BCV/CL_SIN_WS_BOM class?
    I appreciate if someone could help me with these SOA concepts.
    Thanks in advance,
    Abigail.

    Hi Abigal,
    In  SOAMANAGER , u can configure the logical port in 3 ways first it by WSDL and second by manually and third by PI.
    1. WSDL based :   URL will automatically determined using WSDL file.
    2. MANUAlly :   in this , we have to provide the URL .
    Thanks

  • Change/Configure Host and Port for the Web Service Proxy with Server

    Hi,
    Is there a way to configure Host and Port in generated proxy for Web service depending upon server. (ADF 11g)
    Scenario:
    We are consuming Credit Card web service from a service provider and have different Host and Port details for development, QA and Prod.
    So we created proxy classes using wsdl for development and things work fine, but when deploying code to QA or Prod we need to change the Host
    and Port details.
    Is their a way we could user variable's for Host and Port which looks to some configuration file to evaluate their values
    based on server.
    I am a bit new to this web service .. will appreciate if someone could provide an example.
    Thanks.

    Are you using Web Service Proxy or Web Service Data Control?
    If you are using Web Service Proxy. Right click on your Proxy --> Properties --> Port Endpoints. Here you can change the IP & Port details for each port.

  • Printer is asking for a proxy port,how do i find that number

    my printer is asking for a proxy port number ,how do I find that number?

    Hey tomdenise,
    If your network is not on a proxy, you do not need to enter a proxy. Here are the steps you need to go through to resolve this issue.
    1. Find your printer's IP address by printing a network configuration page.
    2. Type you IP address into the address bar of your web browser.
    3. Click on the network tab at the top of the page.
    4. Look at the left hand side and click IPv4 under wireless.
    5. Change the IP settings to Manual.
    6. Enter the printer's IP address, your subnet mask, and your routers IP address or default gateway in the spaces.
    7. Set the Prefered DNS to 8.8.8.8.
    8. Set the Alternate DNS to 8.8.4.4.
    9. Click apply.(You may need to refresh the page if it says processing for longer than a min and click apply again.)
    10. Now try to enable Web Services.
    Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
    If I have resolved your issue, feel free to provide Kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided.

  • What port for osx server web services proxy server?

    I was just wondering, my server has a proxy server working on 10.1.0.xxx what should i put in the client mac network settings so it can use the proxy server should i point it at 10.1.0.xxx or the domain name and what port is the usual for the proxy server?

    There is no set standard for the port number. It's whatever you configured.
    As for hostname vs. IP address - it doesn't really matter. If the client can resolve the hostname correctly then you can use that.
    Personally, though, I'd always use a hostname such as 'proxy.mydomain.com' so that I could easily move the proxy service to a different machine if needed just by changing the DNS entry (not something that is easy to do if you have many machines all connecting via IP address).

  • How to use an authenticated user for a proxy call

    Dear all,
    I am currently working on a JEE application where the user needs to authenticate (for this I have configured the web.xml).
    Now inside this application I need to do a proxy call to a PI webservice.
    I would like to use the user credentials of the already logged in user in order to call the proxy.
    What I don't want to do is to use a service user for the proxy call.
    The code I am trying to call looks something like this:
         private IntegratedConfigurationIn getPort() throws Exception{
              IntegratedConfigurationIn port = null;
              try {
                   IntegratedConfigurationInService service = null;
                   service = new IntegratedConfigurationInService();
                   port = (IntegratedConfigurationIn) service.getIntegratedConfigurationIn_Port();
                  BindingProvider bp = (BindingProvider)port;
                  bp.getRequestContext().put(BindingProvider.USERNAME_PROPERTY, user);
                  bp.getRequestContext().put(BindingProvider.PASSWORD_PROPERTY, password);
                  if (url.length() != 0)
                       bp.getRequestContext().put(BindingProvider.ENDPOINT_ADDRESS_PROPERTY, url);
              catch (Exception ex){
                   ex.printStackTrace();
              return port;
    The examples I found to retrieve the userdata pointed to codes similar to this one:
    public HttpServletRequest getHttpRequest() throws Exception {
              // Get runtime context
              Properties props = new Properties();
              props.put("domain", "true");
              Context initialContext = new InitialContext(props);
              ApplicationWebServiceContext wsContext = (ApplicationWebServiceContext) initialContext
                        .lookup(" /wsContext/ApplicationWebServiceContext");
              HttpServletRequest req = wsContext.getHttpServletRequest();
              return req;
    com.sap.security.api.IUser sapUser = com.sap.security.api.UMFactory.getAuthenticator().getLoggedInUser(getHttpRequest(), null);
              IUser ep5User = com.sapportals.wcm.util.usermanagement.WPUMFactory.getUserFactory().getEP5User(sapUser);
    Now I don't know how to bring it togehter and how to use an authenticated user for the BindingProvider.
    I would appreciate any hints or ideas.

    Peter,
    from the first screenshot, what I understood is that, you are calling an inbound PI web service that is intended to create an integrated configuration object (this is used for whole lot of other reason completely) but not actually calling a development web service.
    For this, you would have to generate your client classes from the WSDL provided by the PI developer for that particular service. Once you get those client classes generated, you could used the method provided in the other screenshot to extract the user and password and call the intended web service.
