Delete Allowed generation for tables

At my group level I have set a value for the "Delete Allowed EL expression". In table layout though, it uses this value to set the rendered property of the checkbox rather than the column, meaning the users still see a column called "Delete ?" with just nothing in it. I've created a custom template and moved the rendered attribute from the selectBooleanCheckbox up to the column.
Of course I may be doing something wrong here or this might cause problems elsewhere but in case neither of those hold true I thought I would mention it as a possible future enhancement ?

That's fine, the reason we only hide the checkbox is that it allows for row-specific delete rules. You can conditonally render the delete checkbox based on some attribute values of the row.

Eg:

you have to delete the row by a sql statement.
Open a new query and run a script like this:
use <Your SID DB> -- e.g. use PRD
setuser 'your sid in lowercase' --- e.g. setuser 'prd'
delete from USR02 where MANDT = '300' and BNAME = 'sap*'
go
Run a complete backup before deleting data manually.

Hi Bharat,
First thing is you need to have the access key to change any standard dictionary object/standard programs/ standard transactions.You may get this from your basis person after getting approval from your respective manager.But changing or modifying the standard object is not recommended, but if there is no alternate to meet the business requirement then we have to follow this way only.
Next, you need to check whether this table's primary key is being used in any other table as foreing key or not. If there is, then you must remove this relation and then you can delete the unncessary primary key field from that table.Finally you can add the two new fields and set them as primary key, save, check for any errors and activate.

Hi Tim,
Syntax of DELETE statement does not allow for multiple tables to be specified in this way. Infact, none of the DMLs allow you to specify table names like this.
Technically, there are other ways of deleting from multiple tables with one statement.
1. "Use a trigger":
What was probably meant by this is that you have a driving-table on which you create a on-delete trigger. In this trigger, you write the logic for deleting from other tables that you want to delete from.
This does mean a one-time effort of writing the trigger. But the actual DML operation of deleting from all the tables would be simply triggered by a delete on driving-table.
2. Dynamic SQL:
Write a PL/SQL code to open a cursor with table-names from which you want the data to be deleted from. In the cursor-for loop, write a dynamic SQL using the table-name to delete from that table.
3. Using Foreign-Key constraint with Cascade-Delete:
This I feel is a more 'cleaner' way of doing this.
Having to delete data from multiple tables means that there is some kind of parent-child relationship between your tables. These relationships can be implemented in database using foreign-key constraints. While creating foreign-key constraint give the 'on delete cascade' clause to ensure that whenever data is deleted from parent-table, its dependent data is deleted from child-table.
Using foreign-key constraint you can create a heirarchy of parent-child relationships and still your DELETE would be simple as you would only have to delete from parent-table.
IMPORTANT: Implementing foreign-key constraints would also impact other DML operations that you should keep in mind.

I have a deep structure. In which i am using other structures like kna1, knb1, knvv.
Now in KNVV is again a deep structure in which i have a table type.
Now a draged and droped this table type to my layout so i got a table.
I Need to have two buttons ADD and Delete, To add and delete a row in table repectvily.
I saw other threads also but get not do it.
My table type attribute's name in KNVV structure is VLACT.
I write following code on click action of ADD button
data.#subform[0].Button1::click: - (FormCalc, client) -
VLACT.row.instanceManager.addInstance(1);
xfa.form.recalculate(1);
but it shows error msg
accessor "VLACT.row.instanceManager.addInstance(1);"
is unknown.
Also i am not able to see tabel itself wich i draged and droped. Only two buttons are there.

This is the code i am using to add new row.
Also all the settings in form are correct like "Repeat row for each data item" etc.
I want to have at most 7 rows.

But i can not see the newly added row

Is there any Function Module to delete the Responsibility for buyer

Hi,
I am able to insert a responsibility for a buyer using the FM, BBP_UPDATE_ATTRIBUTES. Can any one can tell me is there any FM to delete the responsibity for buyer. The BBP_UPDATE_ATTRIBUTES is not working for deletion and It is taking lot of time when i am trying to delete rsponsibility by using the transactio code PPOSA_BBP .
I found one badi, HRBAS00INFTY but there are no exporting or changing parameters in that badi to write some logic to delete.
The FM ,RH_BASE_UPDATE_DB_DIALOG is getting executed and updating the data base tables after the above badi got executed. can i use this FM ,RH_BASE_UPDATE_DB_DIALOG directly to delete the responsibility?I think it is not recomended.

Hi. You can use transaction PP01 instead of PPOMA_BBP.
You might have to make some settings in table T777I to allow the responsibility to be maintained from PP01, but it it a lot faster than PPOMA_BBP, and you could use an ECATT or call transaction on PP01.
You can also delete all the infotype using PP01, basically delete all the responsibility in 1 go if that is any use? Try all this in a test system first toget used to it though.

How could I insert the deleted row into another table within a trigger? The destination table has the same columns as the source table. Since the statements are in the trigger, it is not allowed to query the source table named 'test'. Thanks! The trigger is as follows, uncompleted:

I'm not sure what's wrong there.
I read the oracle docs about ANALYZE and ALL_TAB_COLUMNS, and did the following:
ANALYZE TABLE my_tab VALIDATE STRUCTURE; //went ok.
SELECT column_name
FROM all_tab_columns
WHERE table_name = 'my_tab'; //but no rows selected?

Deletion of Generation Variant

Hi all,
I want to delete physicaly a generation variant from the table ESTLP but I don't find any program/function module that enable this possibility.
I deleted my Generation Variant in CG02 transaction. It put the Deletion Flag indicator to "X" in the table ESTLP but I can't create a new Generation Variant with the same name ...
Does any one know how to delete it physically (without an edit in SE16N) ?

Hi Antoine,
Generation Varient is a Master Data and as per general standard of SAP, there is no procedure to delete the Master Data indeed we can set flag of deletion indicator for that master data so that it will not get used.
Thus, Gen Varient can not be deleted physically unless and until you adopt a crude methold with the help of ABAP consultant to remove the entry direclty from table, which is not at all advisable by SAP.

If you want to delete the rows in the table control and simultaneously delete it from the database table, then you can implement a 'DELETE' functionality specific to your table control. Have a MARK field (you will find that in the screen attributes of the table control -> give a name for the MARK field, you will find an additional MARK column at the beginning of your table control). You can check whatever rows you want to delete from the table control, call the delete module.
