Deleting an account without loosing device contents

I currently own an iphone 5  and an ipad mini
and due to a family disagreement I have had with my sister she has told me to get my own iTunes account as she no longer wants me using hers anymore.
I  have created an account and logged into it on my I phone and my ipad and now I have updates to do its asking me for her user password for her account even tho I have put my apple id into the devices and logged into iTunes on them and have also logged into icloud it still wants her password.
Does anyone know why this is still happening seeing as she tells me that she has been into iTunes and deleted the devices out of her account.
when I look on both devices in the settings it shows my apple account as being connected to both iTunes for the apps store and I cloud services but still requests her password am at a lose as to what to do without wiping the entire phone contents and starting new

Those applications have her Apple ID stored inside them. They need to be deleted and redownloaded.

  • Can I delete an account without loosing all the emails?

I now haw 2 accounts in MacMail, each with their own handfull of mail. One account is for a now obsolete email address.
I'd like to delete it, leaving me with only the current and active email account / address. However, I can't loose all of the emails that at associated with the obsolete account.
Any way to delete the account without deleteing all of the messages associated with it?
    Thanks,
    Chris

First of all, quit Mail and make a backup copy of the ~/Library/Mail folder, just in case something goes wrong while trying to solve the problem. You can do this in the Finder by dragging the folder to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down, for example. This is where all your mail is stored.
If you create custom “On My Mac” mailboxes in Mail and move there the messages currently stored in the account’s mailboxes, you won’t lose them as a result of deleting the account. How to do that is explained in the following Mail Help articles:
    Creating a mailbox
    Organizing your email
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder.

  • I have two apple accounts on one computer. How do i delete one account without deleting the other?

    I have two questions!!
I need to know how to delete one account without deleting the other account on the computer?
I am deleting the account because i have a new laptop that now has the my account... will deleting the account on one computer affect the account on the other laptop?

What do you mean by deleting the account? One can't delete an Apple ID/iTunes account. One just stops using it.
Since yo can only have five computer authorized for one iTunes account you might want to deauthorize the computer for that account

  • I changed my Apple ID that using an invalid email address to a new one and I am trying to update iCloud account on iPhone5 with iOS 7.1.2, and I am not able to delete iCloud account without the old password.

I changed my Apple ID that using an invalid email address and I am trying to update iCloud account with my new Apple ID on iPhone 5 with iOS 7.1.2. I am not able to delete iCloud account without the old password. Is there a way to update the Apple ID of my iCloud account?

Many people are having probalems with this right now.  The only solution I've seen that seems to consistently work is the one posted by Brackers28 here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23020591#23020591.  This only works if you still have access to your old email account.  If you don't, you'll have to have Apple help you reset the password for your old account so you can turn off Find My iPhone and sign into your account with your correct ID.

  • HT4623 how in the world do I have my children 1 ipod & 1 with iphone be on my itunes (My iphone) so 3 devices account without our devices getting each others texts etc. etc.???

How can i use 2 iphones & 1 ipod on my itunes account without all the devices getting all the texts bewteen all three devices? It also looks like I've lost about 82 songs that have been purchased as they aren't showing in purchased?? Not happy Thanks

When you say "use the same purchasing apple ID for both to share books/music apps"- will this allow him to see what apps I download on his ipod (don't want)? will this allow me to continue to see what apps/games he gets on his ipod, on my phone (do want)? and do I set those changes on both devices?
    To do this:
iPhone: Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads:
         Music: ON
         Apps: ON
         Books: ON
iPod: Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads:
now you decide what he gets automatically.
He doesn't use game center, imessage, facetime or anything else (mainly just games, music and picture taking)- so does he really need his own apple id and email address? also- if he wants to start getting text messages, would i still have access to all of them if he has his own apple id? would i have access to them if he stays on my apple id?
Then he doesn't need an Apple ID.
    Switch in
    Settings > Messages >
         iMessage: OFF
Send & Receive > Apple ID: > sign out
Settings > FaceTime > FaceTime: OFF

  • Delete iCloud account without losing contacts on phone?

I have been using a long defunct email address as my apple id and would like to update to a new email address.  No data was ever synced to icloud - the only button on in the iphone account settings has been the "Find my iphone" button.  Can I safely delete this icloud account without losing the contacts, messages, etc on my phone? When I click delete, the message "deleting this account will remove its data from your iphone" appears.

Yes. After you pushed the button "Delete Account" you will be also asked, if you want to keep the data on your phone.

  • Delete email account without hard reset?

I recently updated my Samsung Galaxy S3 to Android 4.1.1.  Shortly thereafter (and perhaps coincidentally), I could not connect to one of my email accounts (my Yahoo account, if it matters). Other email accounts are still functioning normally, so the problem is limited to this one account.  I would like to delete the account and start over, but I receive a message that the this email account is used by other apps, and the only way to remove it is by performing a hard reset to factory settings.  Is there way around this hassle?  Thanks in advance for the help!

Same issue..  Not sure I like the new google voice search either.   It used to show the Web Call Map in the search results, now I have to open it in in the map to get to the call feature.  Extra steps google, why'd you do it?   Verizon fix your yahoo email.  This is rediculous to have this many issues with an email client that were trying to delete and read it for a solution.

  • Cant delete icloud account without having to put the password

I wasn't able to remember my old iCloud account password from when i created before iOS7, I want to delete my account but it makes me type the password to disable Find My iPad and i cannot remember it which is the reason i want to delete it. I tried to reset password by answering security questions and sent an email but i never receive apple reset password emails for my new account either so i havent received one for my old cloud account either. I dont need or want to reset the password on my old account since i got a new one. What else can i do to just delete it?

If you could do what you want - you would manage to bypass Apple activation system lock. You can however contact Apple and ask for assist with password reset. Be prepared to prove that account on the phone is yours.

  • Deleting Mail account without losing old messages

Hi, I'm switching Mac Books and I already set up my mail account in my current Mac. Is there a way to remove my account in the previous Mac Book with out deleting all the messages? Last time I deleted the account, I lost all the messages. No need to transfer all the emails to the current Mac. My husband will be using the previous Mac so I can always check old messages. I just don't want my messages keep coming into his Mac because it will fill up his mailbox.

I didn't have the archive option, so what I did was to just save everything to a new mailbox and then edit the mail properties to my husband's email address. Thanks for the reply!

  • Can I uninstall mountain lion without loosing the content on my hard drive?

I hae just installed mountain lion and now I can not use my Adobe programs - note saying it can not run power PC programs.  I am on a deadline and I MUST get back to the files I was working on before I did this.
I need to know if I can unistall without loosing all the files I was working on before.

    Hi Cate,
Like John says , it is better to upgrade to latest Adobe as they are 64Bit based so they would perform much better on your Mac.
It can make proper use of your RAMS and graphic card.
    good luck..

I have several Apple products and long ago set up two separate Apple accounts by accident.  Now I want to merge the two into one, but be sure not to loose any pictures, etc. that may be stored with one or the other.  Is there a way to do this?

  • Trying to switch accounts without loosing songs and apps

My wife and I shared a single Itunes account while married.  However, we are currently separated and she locked me out of the account.  I paid for a lot of those apps and songs and do not want to loose them.  I have all ready created a new apple log in with my own information but scared to change it on my phone in fear of loosing the songs and apps i have on there now.  Any help greatly appreciated.

No. Apps are forever tied to the ID they were purchased under.  But, iTunes can easily handle multiple iOS devices under one account... I do it with 5 of them all on my one Apple ID.
You just need to select and sync the desired the apps and music for each phone when it's connected to iTunes. iTunes will handle each one separately.  For Music, an easy way is to create a Playlist for each device and then only sync that playlist.

  • HOW TO DELETE ICLOUD ACCOUNT WITHOUT KNOWING PASSWORD

    HELP

You can't. Without knowing this, you won't be able to delete the existing account & re-activate the phone. If you're the second owner, either get in touch with the previous owner, or return the phone for a refund if you can't. You won't be able to use this phone.
