Dependency either or question

How can I specify that the user needs to have either package A or B as a dependency? If the user has neither, how does a PKGBUILD specify which is the default to install?
There are three handbrake packages that will satisfy the dependency requirement: handbrake, handbrake-svn (from the AUR), and handbrake-cli. I have a script that uses a component of all three of them. I need to make sure that the deps are handeled correctly in my PKGBUILD.
This is what I have (based on fukawi's PKGBUILD for backintime):

Can you link specific questions to list variables where it pops up choices depending on the question?

If i am asking a specific question for example:
Alpha Sector, then if Alpha Sector was selected then you must list what POSITION on ALPHA work is being performed.
Alpha = Alpha Position 1
            Alpha Position 2
            Alpha Position 3
            Alpha Position 4
            Alpha Position 5 , then depending on which of these are selected, it also has another question as well. What will be the FREQUENCY on that SPECIFIC POSITION.
Say that Alpha was SELECTED, then work is being performed on ALPHA Position 1, then another popup here should allow another question to be answered: What is the FREQUENCY for ALPHA Position 1 ? then once this was asked if Alpha Position 2 was also SELECTED, then go through the same above ROUTINE.
Alpha = Alpha Position 2 was also selected, then another popup here should allow another question to be answered: What is the FREQUENCY for ALPHA Position 2 ? and SO ON.
How is this accomplished? Would i have to create new pages then link to them or what?

Thanks for your suggestions, Magnus, you really have had a good think for me - I appreciate that!
What I am doing is report writing in which 90% of the report is the same for everyone. Except the cover page with Name and Address details, and Report title; the initial section which is the same for everyone except for specifics such as amount to invest, reason for investment, term to invest over, things like that.
The end of the report is the recommendations section which is where I use freetext to create a bespoke solution - this cannot be automated.
Just automating the cover page and the intro section save me huge amounts of time which I can then use on research and fund analysis, leaving the principles of investment section pretty much the same for everyone, as here I'm describing the principle and theory.
After I created this Report Template my average report creation time went down from about 3 to 4 hours, to about 45 minutes. I guess the automation itself doesn't save as much time as the templating does, but it allows me to concentrate on the important bit and not worry if I have left something out - or in - that changes the overall thrust of the report.
I cannot load Lotus WorpPro on Parallels, nor on Virtual PC, so the lack of automation really is a pain here. I see it as a weakness of Apple products for business, as I am sure Microsoft do which is why they have dropped VBA support for Office 2008.
I have got NeoOffice as well as OpenOffice for Mac on my system, but really they aren't atable enough to use, and the formatting is pretty flaky. It certainly isn't completely consistent with Office itself.
So, I am left with the conclusion that progress only means a reduction in features!
But maybe I'm missing something?

Videos will not play in safari either quicktime question mark of nothing

Hi everyone,
Initially I had an issue with Quicktime videos in Safari. - They would not play, all I got was a question mark infront of the video. Looking on these forums, appartently unchecking the misc. settings in MIME in QT preferences helps. Anoyingly I cannot actually uncheck those preferences, the mac won't let me. also, after reinstalling the flash update, and restarting etc, now all I get when I go to apple.com/trailers and try to play a video is the QT playback bar, but nothing else. It just stays there and does nothing. I am on broadband so speed is not an issue. how can I fix my issue? Thanks, Adam.

Hello to everyone! Sorry if I seem to be straying off topic. There are several related threads in this forum, the Safari 3 beta forum and also the Quicktime forum.
I have this problem as well - on my PowerBook G4, but not on my PowerMac G5... Specifically, in Safari on the Apple Special Event August 2007 page where we look for Steve to intro the new iMac, I see no button to push to display the stream. Just after the last word in the paragraph that the Play button should be under, there is a small active area that will bring up the stream on its web page (an invisible button), but when that happens, there is only the audio content. I have not tried the movie trailers, but these problems sound identical. So, this looks like several related symptoms - may be several problems or only one.
Everything works normally in FireFox.
Moving the HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/QuickTime Plugin.webplugin file to the desktop fixes this problem in Safari, but induces several other problems.
I have MacOSX 10.4.10 up to date, Quicktime 7.2.0, Safari 2.0.4 (419.3). DIVX web player 1.3.1 (p/o 6.6 package), Flash 9.0.47, etc... I have upgraded from many, many versions of Mac-OSX to the present.
I recently installed i-Life '08 on both computers.
I repaired permissions and sucecssfully verified my disk - no impact regarding this problem.
I reinstalled Quicktime - no resolution.
I am a knowledgable user - not expert, but quite knowledgable - I suspect that there is an internet plug-in conflict. Someone elsewhere in the discussion forum (Quicktime area, I think) also ventured that guess.

Don't know why the order is like it is - I displayed my directory, selected all and copied and pasted to get this list - sorting by date or name didn't alter the order of this list (hmmm - something to ponder on a dull day!).
I will post the plug-in list for my desktop that works correctly on Tuesday when I am back at the office.
That is all I know on this issue. Hope someone sees something useful here to help get to the bottom of this.

I am new to SCOM, I have a question regarding management pack dependency.
My question is, Is Dependency is required when New alerts are created in a unsealed MP and the object class selected during alert creation is (i.e Windows server 2012 full operating system) and it is on a Sealed management pack ?
For example i have a Sealed Windows server 2012 monitoring management pack.
I have made a custom one, for windows server 2012, So if it the custom is not dependent on the sealed Windows server 2012 monitoring management pack, Then cant i create any alerts in the custom management pack targeting the class Windows server
2012 full operating system ?

is not dependent on the Windows server 2012 management pack, But how was i successfully able to create them when the dependency is not there at all, If our understanding is same, then there must be an Error thrown while creating the monitor its self right
? But how was SCOM able to create that ?

Look at the dependency of the management pack where i do not have the Windows server 2012 management as my custom management is not dependent on that.

Declaring a variable in a function: either the function or the eventListener I'm using doesn't work

Can anyone help me with this?
I have a set of Cue Points in an FLV I'm playing. It's an interactive quiz, so the idea is that flash will change a variable, theAnswer, to a different letter depending on which question it is. The answer to question 1 is B, question 2 is D, etc.
Either the cue point event listener isn't working, or else it is working and Flash isn't declaring the variables. Can someone help?
The error message I get is:
1120: Access of undefined property theAnswer.
I literally can't find a single problem with my code. I have an almost identical Event Listener further down which works.

Probably not the answer to your question, but it could help anyways....
First there is another command that, to me at least, is much easier to read that a bunch of nested if/if elses. And that is the switch.

To me that is easier to maintain and read. But I don't think that is really what you need here. So just file that one away for the future.
In this case, what I think you need is an array.

Then your cuepoint handler function becomes something like this:

And I'm a little confused by your mouse click handler. It would seem to suggest that the answer is always "C"? But I"m guessing that it is supposed to compare what the user clicked on to what the cuePoint has told it is the correct answer? Well if that is the case then it would probably look something like:

With the way you are currently doing this I'm guessing that you have a bunch of repeated functions for each time there is a mouse click and that your code is a lot more complicated that it needs to be. And that somewhere hiding in all those lines there is an error that would be simple to fix if you could see it.
What the error is telling you is that somewhere your are trying to assign or retrieve theAnswer and it hasn't been defined yet.

Printer Driver problem/question....

Using a MacBook with 10.5.1. A Linksys wireless network hooked to a desktop PC and an Epson Stylus Photo R380 printer also hooked directly to the PC.
Problem: When the Mac is hooked up directly to the printer it works fine. However, when trying to print from it via the wireless network, the print comes out in a light, weak shade of black and colors.
In setting up the printer, I used the only generic driver available in the list provided in the set up window for this printer, a gutenprint v5.1.3.
Spoke to the Epson people who say that the problem is probably because I am not using the Epson driver established specifically for the OX 10.5.x...the v3.68. Therefore, I downloaded that driver and have it on my desktop.
However, I cannot establish the printer with this driver. I am using the IP setup option. I have used the "Other" option under "Print Using" box. Then, click on downloads, then select the Epson driver, then "Open", but cannot get the driver to appear either in the list of drivers under "Select a Driver to use" or in the "Print Using" box. Nothing happens when I use "Auto" either.
Question: How can I setup the printer with the Epson driver that I have downloaded ?
I've spent 3 hours trying to reslve this with bot Apple Care and Epson to no avail.

Not sure if this helps or not, but I also have a MacBook running 10.5.1 and an Epson R380 printer. I have the printer directly connected via USB to an iMac. I then use Bonjour to print to it via my Macbook on my home network.
With both the iMac and MacBook running Tiger, I had no printing problems at all. I had a terrible time trying to print on the R380 from the MacBook running 10.5.1 when the iMac was still running Tiger. It alternately wouldn't let me select the Epson driver for the printer, or when I could select it, the print settings options weren't available to do things like change the print quality or paper type. I downloaded the latest Epson drivers and made sure they were installed on both Macs. I also tried the gutenprint driver packaged with Leopard and I couldn't get it to print at all.
However, when I upgraded the iMac where the printer was connected to Leopard, it started to work perfectly from the MacBook.
I know with your set up you have the printer connected to a PC so this isn't exactly relevant. But I thought I'd confirm at least there does seem to be something in general funky with the Epson R380 drivers and using Leopard.

It really depends and this question is huge, but it really all falls into the whole consulting practice. Personally, the first question I ask is what do you do, how do you do it, and how would you like to change it. Then take it from there.

I think you are right and the default is the alphabetcally first (but I would test it). If you can think of a universal solution to the problem you should file a bug report with an outline of the solution (or just file a bug report ;-) and let the developers scratch their heads ...) One thing I could think of is, if pacman sees that a package depends on a "virtual" package, then let pacman just stop and let the user choose which one he wants.

RFx ' Preference ' Question

Hi,
In the Questions for Rfx, when we designate a question as ' Preference should be met ', the System is allowing me to ' Save', even when I don't select any preference. Is this normal behaviour ?
Also , what is the use of ' must meet preferences ' checkbox. Is it for Reporting ?

Question Type: number
Preference: Low 0, High 10
Scoring Method: Higher the better
Must Meet Preference: unchecked
Supplier Response:
    Supplier 1 u2013 20 years
    Supplier 2 u2013 10 years
Calculated Score:
    Supplier 1 u2013 full points
    Supplier 2 u2013 full points
In the above example, if Must Meet Preference is checked, then Supplier 1 will get 0 points even though the warranty is better than supplier 2.
supplier 2 will get full points.
So as shown above, Must Meet Preference may not apply in all situations depending on the question type, what the question is and how it is asked.

You only wanted to pass OCA certifiation by getting dump of questions.
It would be more worthy that you make practice and once you are confident with the subject, then appear for exam, dont simply depend on dummy question to pass OCA. Believe me, this is worthless.

Need help implementing a Questionnaire page

Hi,
I have a requirement to build a web page which is like a Questionnaire page.
There are multiple questions and each question can have multiple acceptable responses. The responses can be either an Input text/Check box/RadioGroup depending on the Question type.
Each question can also have sub-questions depending on the responses. Each sub-question will also have its acceptable responses and further child questions. Currently we are supporting 5 level of parent-child questions hierarchy.
We are also planning to support the re-arrangement of questions. Is it possible to achieve this functionality using standard ADF components ? I am trying to implement the same using a Tree table. I created a self reference view link to display all the questions in a hierarchal manner. But for displaying the responses I was not able to define the relationship in the tree table.
The same thing I tried with forEach. Defined view links between Questions and responses VO. But I guess forEach does not support view links. So I was not able to get the responses corresponding to each question.

Redesigning a small network

I've been tasked with redesigning a small network (15-20) including wireless. Cisco recommends the RV220 as the entry point Firewall/Router/Wireless and researching there are apparently some good and bad sides of having everything all in one unit depending on who you ask. The other option would be to get a dedicated Firewall/Router and then run the wireless on a seperate device(vlan). I'm fine with either solution but my main concern is performance on the physical connections as well as reliability with the wireless having good range and not dropping or having to reboot the router continuously. Behind the router/firewall I will purchase one of the Cisco 24-port gig switches for physical connections through the office. Anyone have advice or suggestions on models to get for the router/firewall/wireless setup? Budget is not a problem although I don't want to pay for something that is overkill for 10-15 wired workstations and 5-10 wireless including a guest wireless. Thanks in advance.

I am going to sound like a broken record. I am no big fan of getting a wireless router. The reason is because of the location. It would be ideal to place your wireless access point (WAP) in the middle of your wireless clients. A router is normally installed in some far corner somewhere. I mean this is OK if you are bio-medical lab and you are testing wifi with rats.
Ok, next what model of the router. To answer that question, one has to ask you this: What is your WAN bandwidth now and are you expected to grow any larger (size of the office and WAN bandwidth)?
The argument as to get a dedicated firewall or get a router with firewall functionality all depends on the question.

COGI Procedure

1.       In SAP, several finished products (packed-printed closures) utilize the same semi-finished product (molded closure). Finished products will be planned based on re-order point planning. The semi finished product will be planned based on dependent requirements generated. The semi finished product will have a monthly lot size so that a single production order will be created for an entire month. The quantity of this production order will be adjusted such that it will be able to fulfill the entire months requirements. That is, if required, the Production Planner may change the quantity of the production order to fulfill the entire months requirements before releasing the production order. Production will be controlled on this semi finished product by pausing production as and when required based on the demand of finished goods. In SAP this will be achieved by turning OFF (or zeroing out) the available shift hours for the work centers producing the semi-finished (molded closure). The work centers that produce semi finished goods are controlled by the planner that plans the finished products (packed-printed closures).
2.       Confirmations for the finished goods will be done real time with the help of a scanning interface. Along with confirmations, automatic Goods Receipt will also happen. Also, at the time of Confirmation Goods Issue of the materials required to create the finished goods (semi-finished molded closures) will take place through Back flushing. If there is insufficient material on hand COGIs will be created for the molded closures.
3.       Confirmations for the semi-finished materials (molded closures) will also be done through a scanning interface. However, the confirmation of the molded closures may be delayed by 24 - 36 hours. The confirmations trigger an automatic Goods Receipt of the molded components & an automatic Goods Issue of the molded closure components through Back flushing.
4.       When COGIs are cleared for the finished materials, the confirmed molded closures are consumed. Since confirmation of the finished goods take place real time & consumption of the molded components take place with a 24 36 hr time lag, COGIs are continuously created.
5.       To eliminate this issue, if COGIs are not cleared for the first few days, inventory will build up for molded closures. When sufficient inventory of molded closures build up, & confirmations are performed for the Packed-Printed Closures, there would now be materials available for consumption during Back flushing. Hence, COGIs will no longer be produced.
6.       This leaves only COGIs created for the initial few days to be cleared. COGIs for these initial days can then be cleared at the end of the month when stock of molded closures would be available.
(** Does this procedure create any issues ??? Check for issues with reservations created by the finished product on the semi-finished product & how FICO could be affected ***)
