Yanping, we use ANT all the time to deploy to WebSphere without a problem.
Why don't you ask Natasha or John for some help. Otherwise, walk over to Walnut Street and ask at the Computer Support Center.

    Hello,
Who are you pls? It looks like you know all of us.
Thanks for your response. Is there special format for
    web.xml or just generic?

  • How to deploy jsr168 war file into Webcenter Portal

I want to intergated a jsr168 war file with Web Center Portal. I only install WebCenter Portal without JDeveloper and Content. So how should I deploy it?
    Thank you!
    Regards,
    Jugela

You have the weblogic domain right ? Opent the enterprise manager in browser by hitting the below url -
    http://<Admin Server address>:<port>/em
    login with credentials.
From deployments end,you can install the war file which will targeted to WC_Portlet server.
After that register the portlet WSRP url with your application and use it.
The above suggest is without the intervention of jdeveloper /webcenter.

  • Problem in deploying WAR file into OC4J

I have tried deploying a .war file into oc4j (orion) application server using - Deploying Upon OC4J Server Startup option
I have placed the intelliview.war into /applications directory
    modified server.xml & web-site.xml
    server.xml added
    <application name="intelliview" path="../applications/iviewserver.war" auto-start="true" />
    web-site.xml added
    <web-app application="intelliview" name="iviewserver" root="/iviewserver" />
    Here is the error message,
Error instantiating application at file ....applications/intelliview.war

    1. Copy the file to D:\oc4j\j2ee\home\applications where d:\oc4j is the location OC4J is installed in.
    copy mywar.war D:\oc4j\j2ee\home\applications
    2. Open the application.xml file in D:\oc4j\j2ee\home\config directory
and add the following after the <web-module id="defaultWebApp" path="../default-web-app" />

  • How to easily deploy a WAR file?

Hi everyone. I'm not really an portal user but I was tasked to deploy a WAR file into our Oracle portal installation. The file came with instructions but there's something wrong.
I went to our mid-tier server (let's call it mid.company.com) and was able to "succesfully" deployed the war file. This is what I have done:
    1. Browse for my war file
    2. application name = voyager
    3. map to url = /voyager
    4. and then deploy.
I then login to our portal using the admin account. I tried to register a provider (in Remote Provider) and these are the info I provided:
    1. Application Name: VOYAGERPORTLET
    2. Display Name: voyagerportlet
    3. timeout: 100
    4. timeout message: Voyager has timed out.
    5. Implementation style: WSRP
My problem is WSDL URL. I do not know what to put there.*
    I tried "http://mid.company.com:7777/voyager/portlets?WSDL" and I get
An error occurred during the call to the WSRP Provider: java.rmi.RemoteException: HTTP transport error: java.lang.NullPointerException; nested exception is:

Can you help? Thank you very much

You may want to check Metalink Note 341922.1 (How to Deploy and Register a WSRP Producer into Portal?) for a comprehensive overview of how to deploy WSRP producers for Oracle Portal.

Welcome to the Apple user discussion forums
I'll hit a few of your questions - others will have to do others since I'm not up on some of the issues you ask about
    4) is there an easy way to review/delete items (in 6, i run a basic slideshow and delete on the fly -- is this still workable in 7?)?
    Yes
    5) Are there significant functionality benefits of 7 over 6 (e.g., does the noise function or shadow/highlight really offer significant benefits? The Events seems obvious, but I'm more interested in "under the hood" experience
    Yes
Loseless editing - web galleries - events
    a) Is import any faster? As my library is growing in size, the import is getting overly slow
It is fine for me (only you can compare to your current) - I have 20542 items using 26.3 GB in 271 events
    7) Is there a full-screen edit mode?
    yes
    8) Can you configure events so that it's not just by day?
    yes
    9) Is 6's "roll" structure as mirrored in the file system still available in the Events approach, or is the database structure that once you've converted a library, there's no going back?
Events replace rolls (if your rolls are named - NOT the default rollxxx name - they will come across as is - to me events are rolls with much more capability and a new name - some people are VERY putoff by the change (but most love it) for reasons that I simply do not comprehend
    10) What is the effective (or advised) maximum library size? I've probably got over 60GB of images in my libraries now, with 20,000 images or so. If 7 can readily digest them (and preserve all my albums, etc.), then I'd love to combine them into one, unless that will kill performance, make the database unstable, drive backups into interminable waits, etc.
The advertised max is 250,000 photos - I have about the same number of photos as you in about 1/3 the space - there are a few users here with libararies your size. With iPhoto Library Manager it is easy to maintain multiple libraries if you choose

    Hi!
First of all, you don't need to change something in web.xml. This file is exported into WAR file by Creator 2 IDE. So, don't replace web.xml after exporting of WAR.
Also you can try to change version of DTD in sun-web.xml to one older (to sun-web-app_2_3-0.dtd, for example).
Or could you post your sun-web.xml?
    Thanks,
    Roman.

    Hi,
I think first you need to wrap it into an EAR file, then you can deploy it.

    Hi,
For a tutorial with source on how to create and deploy a simple quickstart JEE5 JPA enterprise 3-tier application on your Oracle WebLogic 10.3 server - see the following example that uses the EclipseLink JPA provider. You should be able to transition all of your mapping information (the @ManyToOne and table/column overrides and named queries for example) using either JPA via entity annotations or native extensions if you do not want to implement EJB3.
    see...
    http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/WebLogic_Web_Tutorial
We also have a similar version for Tomcat 6 except the JPA entity beans run outside a container-managed JTA transaction on the web container - for reference.

    Hi Olivier,
you could try the following approach:
    1. Package your JAR files as J2EE Engine libraries and deploy them on it as described here: <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/9f/2ade3fc6c6ec06e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Working with J2EE Libraries</a>.
    2. Set reference to this library from the application that use them. Depending on your application, refer to the appropriate documentation:
    -- reference from a J2EE app -> see <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/15/d5d93fe80fed06e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Referencing Libraries in Applications</a>
    -- reference from a portal app -> see <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/02/788540ae1dbb4de10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Referencing Elements</a>
    Hope that helps!

  • Deploying Java Web Application (WAR-File) into a cluster environment

    Hi,
we have a web application which has to read from and write to the file system.
Since a short time we have a cluster environment (2 parallel servers) and since thisa time we have the problem, that files are worked double in the cluster. The application is working on both servers now and so we have this problem.
Does anybody know how we have to deploy the application correctly in a cluster environment or do we have to change anything in our source code of the application?
I didn't find any documentation about this.
At the moment we have deployed the application on one of the two servers only, but I think there must be a better way to solve this problem.
    Thanks for your replies.

  • Deploying an existing WAR file into the Portal

I have downloaded the Enterprise Portal and the SAP Netweaver Developer Studio (NDS) and have succeeded in creating a couple of projects of the ‘Hello World’ variety and deployed them on the Portal!  So far, so good.
The problem I have is that need to deploy on the Portal an existing JSP/Struts application of ours which is available as a Web Archive (WAR) file.
The problem is that I cannot find a way of deploying an existing WAR file on the Portal – either via a Project or otherwise.  I have found an entry in the Help files with the NDS which sounds promising, as it is entitled ‘Import a .WAR File into a new project’.  However, the menu entry it says you should use (File &#8209;> Import &#8209;> MDK: Import a web archive (.WAR) into a new project) this last entry does not exist on my installation of NDS.
    Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi Mustafa (and All) - thanks you very much for your answers, which has enabled me to make good progress.
I have created a project in the Deploy Tool, imported a simple WAR file into it, loaded to project and depployed it on my instance of the Portal - or at least I have deployed it as far as the Deploy Tool is concerned.
However, when I try to find it in the Portal in order to assign it to an iView in the Portal content, I can't find any evidence of its existence!!
As another 'tack' in the NDS I have created an 'Enterprise Application Project', into which I appear to have imported the WAR file - but I cant package this as a PAR file, which is what I seem to need to do to get it into an iView on the Portal.  To create a PAR package I seem to need to create a 'Portal Application Project' - but I can't find a way of getting the WAR file into that!!
Any further advice would be greatefully received.
Thanks for your help to date and thanks in advance for any more you may be able to give.
    Regards,
    Dave
