I am new to BEPL, I tried to Transfer data from SQL server to Oracle. To connect with sql server I used database adapter and driver is MS JDBC 2.0 which works fine in Jdeveloper and compiled successfully but while deploying output folder’s Jar file into SOA server I am getting some error, below is that error message

  • Error Connecting to remote sql server database

    The sql server database is hosted on Godaddy hosting service.
    I am able to connect with many other remote computers so the issue resides on the remote computer.
    The remote computer is windows 7 32 bit 2009 service pack 1
    using the ODBC administrator we add a user DSN select SQL Server Version 6.01.7601.17514
    For the server we put in the server from godaddy somthing like   XYZDatabase.db.1110002.hostedresource.com
    Once enter the login id and password we get the following error.
    Any help would much appreciated.
    Remember, we have multiple other remote computers connecting with no issues.

    Hello,
    If connection works for several machines, but fails on others then may because the access is blocked by firewall. You have to unblock IP port 1433 for in- and outbound.

  • Error message when trying to connect to a SQL Server Database

    All:
    I get the following message when I try to connect to a SQL Server Database within a form:
    "Connection for Source DataConnection failed because the environment is not trusted"
    Can anyone help me solve this problem?
    Thanks,
    BR

    Hi Brian,
    In Acrobat, security concerns dictate that you cannot specify an ODBC connection string by using the Driver=; syntax. Therefore, the client computer using the form needs to have a DSN pre-configured for ODBC connections.

  • SQL Server database save error

    I am encountering an issue every few days or so whereby, for some reason, my metadata database LDF log file is growing to a very large size (> 5GB in size). This could be due to specific settings for my database, however I don’t believe I’m doing anything
    unusual so it’s probably worth recording.
    When the LDF grows to a large size, I start to see the following I/O error messages in the windows event viewer for the SQL database service:
    2014-08-28 16:18:25:
    SQL Server has encountered 1 occurrence(s) of I/O requests taking longer than 15 seconds to complete on file [C:\SCM\Databases\PPGallium_Metadata_New4_log.ldf] in database [PPGallium_Metadata_New4] (7).  The OS file handle is 0x0000000000000A64.
    The offset of the latest long I/O is: 0x000000fe4f3200
    This is followed by further follow-on errors in saving data to the database (from Gallium database service log for same time):

    Thanks
    Ian

    Hi Ian,
    According to your description, the error message indicates SQL Server I/O bottlenecks. The SQL Server I/O bottleneck can be caused by many reasons, for example, there is firmware issue or misconfiguration issue in I/O subsystem , or some other process on
    your system is saturating the disks with I/O requests.
    To troubleshoot this issue, I recommend the following steps.
    1. Exclude SQL Server files from antivirus scan.
    2. Do not place SQL Server FILES on compressed drives.
    3. Distribute SQL Server data files and transaction log files across drives.
    4. Collect perfmon counters to get more information about I/O operation.
    For more details, please review this blog:
    I/O requests taking longer than 15 seconds to complete on file.

  • Error deploying JDBC driver for SQL Server 2005

    Hi all
    I'm trying to deploy a JDBC driver for MS SQL Server 2005 (downloaded [here|http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=C47053EB-3B64-4794-950D-81E1EC91C1BA&displaylang=en]). When I try to deploy it according to the instructions found [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/51/735d4217139041e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm] it fails.
    The error in the logs doesn't give any useful information though. It only says Error occurred while deploying component ".\temp\dbpool\MSSQL2005.sda".
    Has anyone else deployed a driver for SQL Server 2005, or perhaps have any suggestions of what else I could try?
    Thanks
    Stuart

    Hi Vladimir
    That's excellent news! Thanks for the effort you've put into this. I'm very impressed with how seriously these issues are dealt with, specifically within the Java EE aspects of SAP.
    May I make two suggestions on this topic:
    1. Given that NWA has such granular security permissions, please could the security error be shown when it is raised? This would help immediately identify that the problem isn't actually a product error, but rather a missing security permission (and thus save us time and reduce your support calls).
    2. Please could the role permissions be clearly documented (perhaps they already are, and I just couldn't find the docs?) so we know what is and isn't included in the role. The name is very misleading, as a "superadmin" is generally understood to have no limitation on their rights - so clear documentation on what is in-/excluded would be most helpful.
    On a related topic, I came across another issue like this that may warrant your attention (while you're already looking into NWA security issues). I logged a support query about it (ref: 0120025231 0000753421 2008) in case you can retrieve details there (screenshots, logs, etc.). It's basically a similar security constraint when trying to create a Destination. I'm not sure if this is something you would like to include as standard permissions within the NWA_SUPERADMIN role or not, but I think it's worth consideration.
    Thanks again for your help!
    Cheers
    Stuart

  • SQL database login for 'SharePoint_Config_2010' on instance 'DB server' failed. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below.

    we formatted Database server and restored all the databases from the backup. but the sharepoint site is giving below error when i access the home page.

    Login failed for user 'domain\user'.
    could you help what is the issue?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you failed to access sharepoint site with one application server.
    It was due to the MOM/SCOM Agent that has a SharePoint management pack installed, the agents Windows Service runs as ‘Local System’ and thus causes this.
    The workaround is to either kill the SCOM agent service, or set it to run as a dedicated service account.
    In addtion, I recommend to add the logon account of the SharePoint Timer service as a user of the SharePoint_Config database. Give role membership to the account db_owner.
    You also need to add the SharePoint accounts back into sql server.
    There are some similar articles for you to take a look at:

  • How to create a .mdf SQL Server database from a Data-Tier Application file that has data?

    This is a noob question, though I do use SQL Server databases all the time with Entity Framework when I code in C# using Visual Studio 2013.  The development environment is found below at [A].  I am trying to make a clone of a SQL Server 2008 R2
    database (.mdf)  that exists online.  I can read, connect and work with this database in Visual Studio 2013, but I wish to make a local copy of the database, as an .MDF file.  Somewhere in my notes I have a way of creating a local copy from
    an online database when using Visual Studio but I forgot how (it seems, reviewing my notes, that it deals with ADO.NET which is deprecated in Visual Studio 2013 these days, or so it seems).  So I'm looking for another way.  What I did was create
    (or export) a "Data-Tier Application File" from the online SQL Server database, with data, and it seems to have worked in that this Data-Tier Application file exists on my hard drive and seems to have data in it ("SQL Server Replication Snapshot"
    is the format it seems).  It contains skeleton code to create a database, but when I tried to execute it with SQL Server 2014 Management Studio, I got a bunch of errors.
    So my question is:
    1) Can I somehow create a .MDF SQL Server Database from an Data-Tier Application file that has data?  What tool do I use?  I saw this link, http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/2639.how-to-use-data-tier-application-import-and-export-with-a-windows-azure-sql-database.aspx
    and it relates to Azure, but is there a tool for C#Visual Studio 2013, standalone?
    2) If there's an easy way to create a .mdf SQL Server Database file from an online file, within SQL Server Management Studio?  I don't think so, since it would require Administrator permissions on the online server, which I don't have. I have permission
    to read, update, delete the online database file, but strangely not to download it (the service I use has a tool for backup, but not for download).
    3) same question as 2), but for Visual Studio 2013?  I don't think so, since I notice none of the templates even mentions ADO.NET anymore, but instead they go with Entity Framework.  Using EF I can of course do anything I want with the online database
    (CRUD), but it remains online.  Maybe there's a switch to make a local copy?  I guess I could write a short program to suck all the data out of the online database and put it into a new, duplicate database having the same tables, that I create on
    my localhost, but my question here is if there's an easier way than this, maybe a tool or command I can run from inside Visual Studio?
    Any advice on any of the above questions is appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Paul

    Thanks but these links are too general to help.
    "2. what do you mean by online file?" - I mean the SQL Server database file is on a remote web server that I rent from, but I am not the administrator of.  I can access my database using SQL Server Authentication, but nothing more.

    What do you mean by too general? It explains on how you can use data tier application to create and deploy databases

  • Best practise for creating an application that connects to a SQL Server database

    I have created an application that connects to a SQL Server database and views information using a datagrid and performs several updates when a button
    is selected.
    I have created a SQLcontrol.vb using the following code:
    Imports System.Data.Sql
    Imports System.Data.SqlClient
    Public Class SQlControl
    'connection 1
        Public SQLCon As New SqlConnection With {.ConnectionString
    = "Data Source=;Initial Catalog=;Integrated Security=True"}
    'connection 2
        Public SQLCon1 As New SqlConnection With {.ConnectionString
    = "Data Source;Initial Catalog=;Integrated Security=True"}
        Public sqlcmd As SqlCommand
        Public sqlda As SqlDataAdapter
        Public sqldataset As DataSet
        Public Function hasconnection() As Boolean
            Try
                SQLCon.open()
                SQLCon.close()
                Return True
            Catch ex As Exception
                MsgBox(ex.Message)
                Return False
            End Try
        End Function
        Public Sub runquery(query As String)
            Try
                SQLCon.Open()
                sqlcmd = New SqlCommand(query,
    SQLCon)
                'LOAD
    SQL RECORDS FOR DATAGROD
                sqlda = New SqlDataAdapter(sqlcmd)
                sqldataset = New DataSet
                sqlda.Fill(sqldataset)
    BH READ DIRECTLY FROM THE DATABASE
                'Dim
    R As SqlDataReader = sqlcmd.ExecuteReader
                'While
    R.Read
                'MsgBox(R.GetName(0)
    & ": " & R(0))
                'End
    While
                SQLCon.Close()
            Catch ex As Exception
                MsgBox(ex.Message)
                'will
    close connection if still open
                If SQLCon.State
    = ConnectionState.Open Then

                End If
            End Try

                'LOAD
    SQL RECORDS FOR DATAGROD
                sqlda = New SqlDataAdapter(sqlcmd)
                sqldataset = New DataSet
                sqlda.Fill(sqldataset)
    BH READ DIRECTLY FROM THE DATABASE
                'Dim
    R As SqlDataReader = sqlcmd.ExecuteReader
                'While

            End Try
        End Sub
    End Class
    A code for one of my button which views displays data grid contains the following code:
    Private Sub Button1_Click_1(sender As Object,
    e As EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
            If SQL.hasconnection
    = True Then
                SQL.runquery("select
    * from tablea")
                If SQL.sqldataset.Tables.Count
    > 0 Then
                    DGVData.DataSource = SQL.sqldataset.Tables(0)
                End If
            End If
        End Sub
    I am fairly new to vb.net and have read a few books and followed a few tutorials on youtube, what I would like to know is, are there any disadvantages
    to the way I have connected to a SQL database using the SQLControl.vb.  A lot of the vb books include data adapter and dataset within the form, I'm not sure if I'm following best practice by have the connection details outside of the form.
    My other question is, I have created two connections in the SQLControl and call these connections within the same form using the same data adapter
    and dataset.  It all works fine but I just wanted to know of any potential issues?
    Public SQLCon As New SqlConnection With {.ConnectionString
    = "Data Source=;Initial Catalog=;Integrated Security=True"}
    'connection 2
        Public SQLCon1 As New SqlConnection With {.ConnectionString
    = "Data Source;Initial Catalog=;Integrated Security=True"}
    Thanks

    1) You are not using Sepration of concerns for a solution that is doing data access, like using a DAL.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Separation_of_concerns
    2) You are directly issuing SQL commands at the UI, leading to sql injection attacks.
    3) You are not using a UI design pattern, which leads you to tightly couple database activity to the UI.
    http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/228214/Understanding-Basics-of-UI-Design-Pattern-MVC-MVP
    @System243trd, parameters are important to prevent SQL injection attacks (people will insert SQL commands into the database if you do not perform basic checking of what you are passing to the database). If you write a stored procedure try to make
    the variables the correct SQL server data type to avoid problems later of people trying to call it directly.  Darnold924 is right, I see no code to prevent against SQL injection attacks. In addition, during development in some instances LocalSQLDB
    database system is used and during deployment you usually need to use the production SQL server database. Moreover,  Linq-to-SQL is used on Windows Phone 8.1 and it is required for phone development later and so I highly recommend learning
    it if you plan on developing windows phone applications.
    @System243trd, If you want the code for the windows phone app I think it uses the MVVM model or that might be for universal apps or regular windows phone apps. I have been using the windows phone Silverlight pivot or panorama template (it might
    be pieces of both). I've already submitted to the windows phone marketplace and it had to go through certification first. I plan on later making an article on it but I need to first fix one or two simple problems I have with it.  Here's a link to
    the source code if you later want to look at the source code (in vb.net):

  • When Deploying SSIS Packages to SQL Server using SSMS Import feature, is the package configuration file deployed at the same time?

    Hello, everyone,
    I have an SSIS package with a XML package configuration file. I deployed it to the sql server using the import feature in SSMS (in Stored Packages, right click MSDB, select Import, select the package to deploy in file system). My question is
    Is the XML package configuration file also deployed? If so, which folder is it stored so that I can change the values in it? If not, is setting up the Configuration tab when scheduling a agent job the way to go manually bring the configuration file in?
    Your help and information is much appreciated.
    Regards

    Thank you Arthur for your reply. I appreciate it.
    A followup questions:
    I used direct setting for the configuration file path on C:\. But it needs to be on D:\ on the remote server. I can't create the D:\ path because I don't have D:\ drive on my computer (I understand I could use indirect setting to change the path in the remote
    server. But that's not the concern here).
    My question is:  since the configuration is not deployed, can I make it up by setting up the Configurations in creating the agent job step? That is, copy the configuration file to the D:\ drive on the remote server, in Configurations tab, add the configuration
    file on D:\ to the configuration. Will it work? Will the package still look for the original config file on C:\?  and if it doesn't find it there, will it cause any error?
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    Regards

  • Quick Migrate: SQL Server database to Oracle

    When I try Quick Migrate: SQL Server database to Oracle, I get the following error messages:
    1. Locating source plugin...failed
    2. Checking multi-schema privileges...Privilege 'CREATE ROLE" is not granted with admin option.
    Error #1 I do not understand.
    Error #2: I created the user as follows:
    DROP USER GRAINTEST CASCADE
    CREATE USER GRAINTEST

    DEFAULT TABLESPACE SMARTSOFT_DATA

    WITH ADMIN OPTION
    Thanks
    Murray

    Murray,
    Apologies for referring to the 1.5 documentation but the 2.1 documentation still has the same information about creating a user to hold the repository.
    You initially reported 2 problems -
    1. Locating source plugin...failed
    2. Checking multi-schema privileges...Privilege 'CREATE ROLE" is not granted with admin option.
    For the first error have you installed the necessary JDBC driver ? I have just installed SQL*Developer 2.1 on a new laptop and could successfully connect following the documentation steps -
    Oracle® SQL Developer
    User’s Guide
    Release 2.1
    2.5.2 Before Migrating From Microsoft SQL Server or Sybase Adaptive Server
    To configure a Microsoft SQL Server or Sybase Adaptive Server database for
    migration:
    1. Ensure that the source database is accessible by the Microsoft SQL Server or
    Sybase Adaptive Server user that is used by SQL Developer for the source
    connection. This user must be able to see any objects to be captured in the
    Microsoft SQL Server or Sybase Adaptive Server database; objects that the user
    cannot see are not captured. For example, if the user can execute a stored
    procedure but does not have sufficient privileges to see the source code, the stored
    procedure cannot be captured.
    2. Ensure that you can connect to the Microsoft SQL Server or Sybase Adaptive
    Server database from the system where you have installed SQL Developer.
    3. Ensure that you have downloaded the JTDS JDBC driver from
    http://jtds.sourceforge.net/.
    4. In SQL Developer, if you have not already installed the JTDS driver using Check
    for Updates (on the Help menu), do the following:
    a. Click Tools, then Preferences, then Database, then Third Party JDBC Drivers.
    b. Click Add Entry.
    c. Select the jar file for the JTDS driver you downloaded from
    http://jtds.sourceforge.net/.
    d. Click OK.
    ========
    The second error is again documented in the 2.1 documentation -
    5.99 Privilege Warning for Migration
    This dialog box is displayed if you click Verify in the Quick Migrate box and the
    database user for the connection does not have all privileges necessary for a
    multischema migration. For multischema migrations, this user must granted the
    RESOURCE role with the ADMIN option; and this user must also be granted the
    CREATE ROLE, CREATE USER, and ALTER ANY TRIGGER privileges, all with the
    ADMIN option.
    If you are performing a single-schema migration, you can ignore this warning.
    =====
    Which errors are you now seeing and which user was used to hold the repository ?
    If you are using GRAINTEST for the repository then create it using this syntax -
    CREATE USER GRAINTEST IDENTIFIED BY password <=== change password as necessary
    DEFAULT TABLESPACE users TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp; <=== change tablespaces as necessary
    GRANT CONNECT, RESOURCE, CREATE VIEW, CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM TO
    GRAINTEST WITH ADMIN OPTION;
    GRANT ALTER ANY ROLE, ALTER ANY SEQUENCE, ALTER ANY TABLE, ALTER TABLESPACE,
    ALTER ANY TRIGGER, COMMENT ANY TABLE, CREATE ANY SEQUENCE, CREATE ANY TABLE,
    CREATE ANY TRIGGER, CREATE ROLE, CREATE TABLESPACE, CREATE USER, DROP ANY
    SEQUENCE, DROP ANY TABLE, DROP ANY TRIGGER, DROP TABLESPACE, DROP USER, DROP ANY
    ROLE, GRANT ANY ROLE, INSERT ANY TABLE, SELECT ANY TABLE, UPDATE ANY TABLE TO
    GRAINTEST with admin option ;
    then when making the migration make sure the Oracle connection is to this user.
    Please update the thread with the errors you get after following these steps.
    Regards,
    Mike
