Deploy JAR with MySQL as DB

Just tested with a very simple table called test_string with only one column "guid" (type varchar). Verification is OK, but always got the following error when deploying to server. Not sure about the reason.
As it is a wrapException, is it possible that some thing wrong in the cmp mapping from String to varchar in mysql?

Thanks,

Marina,
Is there any way to make these fields case-insensitive? The reason I ask is that I am trying to create a sun-cmp-mappings.xml that will work with mutliple databases, that might have tables and columns defined with different cases (i.e. Oracle = upper, Sybase = mixed). Is it possible to create a combinbation of .schema file and mappings.xml that will work?
tia,
Mike

    Marina,
    Is there any way to make these fields case-insensitive? The reason I ask is that I am trying to create a sun-cmp-mappings.xml that will work with mutliple databases, that might have tables and columns defined with different cases (i.e. Oracle = upper, Sybase = mixed). Is it possible to create a combinbation of .schema file and mappings.xml that will work?
    tia,

  • Deploying .jar with Oracle JDBC thin driver

    I was just experimenting with a Java application that uses an Oracle JDBC driver. It runs fine in JDeveloper. However, when I deploy it to a .jar and run it from a Windows XP Command Prompt I get:
    Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
    (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.
    C:\xxx\deploy>java -jar testme.jar
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException
    at oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver.connect(OracleDriver.java)
    at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(Unknown Source)
    at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(Unknown Source)
    Is there anything special I need to do to the Deploy file? I tried including the the classes111 manifest to no avail.

    Hi,
    Ensure that the JVM being used is the same or at least same spec level that you built your project. JDeveloper 9.0.3 uses VM's compatible with 1.3.1 by default. It is possible that your OS path has another VM that the cmd line defaults to. Use a java -version to check this.
    Also ensure that you include Oracle JDBC as a project library and when you go to create a JAR file (either simple archiver or a Client Jar) that you include the Oracle JDBC libraries from the Dependency Analyzer. I assume this is probably the missing step since your are deploying to a Jar and not an app server where you would put the driver libraries in the app server classpath.

  • How can I deploy a jar with directory entries using deploy profiles?

    Hi,
    I'm trying to deploy a jar file using deloy profiles, but the jar file deployed contains no directory entry. Why?
    Is it possible to do that using deploy profiles?

    my project looks like this:
    src +
     - test
         +- Main.java
         +- Test.java
    when I create a jar with 'jar -cf‘, I get something like this (with flat folders view):
    META-INF
    test
    Main.class
    MANIFEST.MF
    Test.class
    but when I use deploy profile to deploy a jar, I get this:
    Main.class
    MANIFEST.MF
    Test.class
    The directory entries are missing in the jar file.
    How can I fix this?

    This looks like a bug.
    Is there something in your app which makes it modify the timestamp of the
    root directory or rootDir/META-INF/REDEPLOY file ? That would be the only
    valid reason for the auto deployment to keep triggering. If that is the case
    you might want to use weblogic.Deployer.

  • Create a .jar with a database in mysql????

    Hi !!!!
    I create a script in .java, and I have none error. My script use a database, to read and to save some data.
    I create a Manifest.mf
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Main-Class: AutoPlanning
    Class-Path: DriverJava/mm.mysql-2.04/mysql.jar
    What are the command to create this .jar?
    Thanks !!!

    I tried your advice. I create a lib directory and I copie all these .jar files :
    gnujaxp.jar
    jcommon-1.0.0-rc1.jar
    jfreechart-1.0.0-rc1.jar
    junit.jar
    servlet.jar
    mysql.jar;
    And my Manisfest file is now :
    Main-Class: AutoPlanning
    Class-Path: .;lib/gnujaxp.jar;lib/jcommon-1.0.0-rc1.jar;lib/jfreechart-1.0.0-rc1.jar;lib/junit.jar;lib/servlet.jar;lib/mysql.jar;
    Next I execute :
    - jar cvmf Manifest.mf AutoPlanning.jar *.class lib/*.jar Aide Images Config
    - java -jar AutoPlanning.jar
    Unfortunately I have still the same problem
    Driver non trouve : java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
    Connexion refuse ou base inconnu : java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver

    But thanks you for your answer :)

  • DB Adapter is not able to talk with MySQL

    Hi,

    This session is used to connect to the datastore.
    See root exception for the specific exception. You may need to configure the connection settings in the deployment descriptor (i.e. $J2EE_HOME/application-deployments/default/DbAdapter/oc4j-ra.xml) and restart the server. Caused by Exception [TOPLINK-4003] (Oracle TopLink - 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0) (Build 060920)): oracle.toplink.exceptions.DatabaseException
    Exception Description: Configuration error. Class [org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver] not found..
    Though during connecting with MySQL ,I had given each and every required info,tested that connection and it was fine.When trying to invoke this service from BPEL console if gives me some fault messages !
    Could any one figure out ,what causes this to get occured!
    Regards,
    Shaily

    The JDBC driver jar file should be placed in the applib directory. No need to specify it explicitly in the CLASSPATH. You need to create a connection factory to connect to your MySQL database. Do this by editing the DB adapter's oc4j-ra.xml file. Bounce your BPEL server after you've placed the jar and edited oc4j-ral.xml.

  • Help - JSC to Tomcat with MySql

    I built a simple test app in JSC with MySql.
    Product: MySql Ver. 5.0.27-community-nt
    Database name: Test
    Table name: testtable
    Datasource name: MySql1
    Dataprovider's SQL: SELECT ALL testtable.code, testtable.name FROM testtable WHERE testtable.name LIKE ?
    The page had a textfield, button, statictext and a table mapped to the dataprovider
    The following code was included:
    public void prerender() {
    try {
    String s = "";
    String t = (String) textField1.getText();
    if (t == null || t.equals(""))
    s = "";
    else
    s = t;
    s += "%";
    staticText3.setText(s);
    getSessionBean1().getTesttableRowSet().setObject(1,s);
    getSessionBean1().getTesttableDataProvider().refresh();
    } catch (Exception e) {error(e.toString());}
    public String button1_action() {
    return null;
    When tested in JSC, it worked fine.
    But when I exported it as a war file and deployed it in Tomcat 5.5.17 with the following settings, the statictext
    displayed the selected value, but the table showed "No items found". Please help.

    You could track JDBC calls and the SQL's executed by the driver at the database,
    Update you datasource, DBURL with some parameters/properties to generate some info for debugging like this:
    jdbc:mysql://$hostname:$port/$databasename?autoGenerateTestcaseScript=true&dumpQueriesOnException=true
    Check out your deployment containers log to find out which particular SQL statement is being executed. This could help in identifying performance issues with application. That could possibly give a clue, if something is not working in your application.
    For designtime JDBC calls made, this info is sent to IDE log.

  • Error while deploying ABCS with custom XPATH using AID

    Hi All,
    I use a custom xpath function as given below in the Provider ABCS BPEL.
    <copy>
    <from expression="sql:queryToWhereClause(ora:getNodes('xxx','xxxx','xxxxxxxx'))"/>
    <to variable="variableName" part="predicate"/>
    </copy>
    When I deploy this ABCS from jdeveloper, everything works fine.
    When I try to deploy the ABCS composite using the AID, it throws this error,
    [scac] error: in QueryPersonEbizProvABCSImplProcess.bpel(733): could not resolve xpath function "queryToWhereClause", because function "sql:queryToWhereClause" not registered.
    I have dropped the classe into $SOA_HOME/soa/modules/oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1/classes, and it still looks like the AID is not able to locate the class. Am I dropping the classes into the right location, or is it something else that is missing? Any pointers are appreciated.
    Thanks
    Anish.

    Anish,
    this comes from the fact that the SOA compilation tools don't include $SOA_HOME/soa/modules/oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1 in the class path, e.g. in $SOA_HOME/bin/ant-sca-compile.xml which is in turn used by AID for compiling composites.
    You can work around this by adding the custom classes/libraries to the classpath in $SOA_HOME/bin/ant-sca-compile.xml. Insert the following entry in section '<path id="scac.tasks.class.path">':
    <pathelement path="${oracle.home}/soa/modules/oracle.soa.ext_11.1.1/oracle.soa.ext.jar"/>
    With that ant-sca-compile.xml and therefore also AID will be aware of your custom xpath function and the compilation error should disappear.

  • Error in deploying .jar file from JDeveloper 10.1.3.5

    Hello,
    I want to deploy .jar file in a machine, instead of having to install JDeveloper to run the application (it contains: Web Services and Data Base).
    I have followed the following steps in JDeveloper to create the .jar file:
    1) Right click over the project: New... --> General (All Technologies option selected) --> Deployment Profiles --> JAR File
    2) I have selected "Include Manifest File" option specifying the application's main class
    3) In JAR Deployment Profile Properties window: File Groups --> Project Output --> Contributors are selected: "Project Output Directory" and "Project Dependencies"
    4) With the previous steps, JDeveloper generates a .deploy file. It is created in Resources folder. From this folder, I have selected the .deploy file and right click and I have selected "Deploy to JAR file"
    The .jar is created succesfully. In this point, I try to execute with the command:
    java -jar NAME_OF_THE_DIRECTORY_WHERE_THE FILEIS_DEPLOYED\NameFile.jar
    and I have the following error:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/rpc/ServiceFactory
    at project.proxy.AccountClient.<init><AccountClient.java>
    at project.proxy.AccountClient.main<init><AccountClient.java>
    The Manifest File content is:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3.5.0
    Main-Class: project.proxy.AccountClient
    I have tested with differents variables to create the .jar file, but always the error is the same. And I haven't found information to solve it. For this reason, I appreciate any help.
    Thank you and regards.

    If you are just building a client that access a Web service you need a JAR and not a WAR.
    Ok!
    One thing to try is look at the command line that JDeveloper uses to run your client (it's in the log window) - specifically look at the classpath used.
    Then try and run the same thing from a command line and see if it works.
    Nowadays, the application is running with a .BAT file, it contains the statement released from the JDeveloper console, and it is working perfectlly.
    I try to do the same from a command line, and it works too.
    Assuming it is - you can either use that, or you'll need to make sure that your JAR includes all the mentioned jars that were in the class path - this is done through the library type file group.
    To create the .JAR file I have choosen the following options (JAR Deployment Profile Properties):
    1) Include Manifest File --> I have selected the class that contains the main class (from the Browse option)
    2) I left the default File Groups (Project Output) --> it has: Project Output Directory + Project Dependencies
    3) As you said me, I have created a new File Group (type: Libraries) --> and here, I have selected all the possible Contributors. These match those specified in the project (Oracle XML Parser v2, J2EE, JAX-RPC Client, Commons Logging 1.0.3, Ojdbc14.jar).
    4) Deployment to JAR File successfully.
    The resulting MANIFEST.MF is:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3.5.0
    Main-Class: project.proxy.Execution
    It hasn't definied "Class-Path", althought to especified a new File Group with the libraries... Is it an error?
    If I extract the .JAR file, I see all libraries, and I have two folders: one with .class files of my project and other one is META-INF with MANIFEST.MF file.
    5) From command line I executed:
    C:\jdevstudio10135\jdk\bin > java -jar C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\deploy\NameFile.jar
    And the result is an error:
    Exception in thread "main": java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: javax/xml/rpc/ServiceFactory
    I think the error is because it can not find the library ServiceFactory, but it is especified inside JAX-RPC Client library. What is wrong?
    *6)* I have tried too to insert in "JAR Deployment Profile Properties" (in JAR options) an additional Manifest File to merge into MANIFEST.MF, to include "Class-Path" with all libraries's project (the same JAR from the statement released from the JDeveloper console), but I think that it is a limit, because if I insert all libraries the "Class-Path" doesn't inserted in MANIFEST.MF. The maxim is:
    Class-Path: C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\classes C:\jdevstudio10135\lib\xmlparserv2.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\lib\xml.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\activation.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\ejb.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\jms.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\jta.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\mail.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\j2ee\home\lib\servlet.jar C:\jdevstudio10135\webservices\lib\jaxrpc-api.jar
    The following libraries afther the previous one aren't allowed to include because I think that is exceeding the maximum size.
    I have tested to create various MANIFEST.MF with different PATHs libraries, but it isn't work to include in the MANIFEST.MF file all libraries...
    (C:\jdevstudio10135\webservices\lib\wsclient.jar

    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\jdbc\lib\ojdbc14dms_g.jar)
    With this .MF file (or including only "C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\classes") I have solved the other problem (not found the libraries), but it still not working, the error is a little different:
    Exception in thread "main": java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: project/proxy/Execution
    The path where the main class is: C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\classes\project\proxy\Execution.class
    I have tried to insert directlly the following paths in "Main Class" option of "Include Manifest File":
    C:\jdevstudio10135\jdev\mywork\project\project\classes\project\proxy\Execution
    C:\\jdevstudio10135\\jdev\\mywork\\project\\project\\classes\\project\\proxy\\Execution
    And with these values, the error is the same: Exception in thread "main": java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
    I am not sure if the error is a bug of JDeveloper 10.1.3.5 or it is something that I don't correctly. Any idea?
    Thank you again and regards.

    Hi Gaurav,
    Other applications used the same the datasource, which I used for this application,
    are running fine.
    I think there is some bug in the wlserver 6.1 to create the join table. I think
    it is the time I should ask the bea wlserver 6.1.

  • Can' t connect Java with MySQL

    My goal is to connect Java with MySQL. I found many solutions on Internet, but I always get the same mistake:
    SQLException: No suitable driver
    SQLState: 08001
    VendorError: 0MySQL works fine alone or with php.Only thing left me to think is that the installed versions are not compatible for this mysql-connector-java-5.0.4
    I don't believe that could be a reason.
    Installed versions are:
    Apache Tomcat 5.5.20 Server
    Apache HTTP Server 2.2.4
    PHP 5.2.0
    MySQL 5.2
    jre 1.5.0_11
    jdk1.5.0_11
    Apache Tomacat JK2 connector Version: 1.2.20 File Name: mod_jk-apache-2.2.3.so
    mysql-connector-java-5.0.4
    I also set connector in class path: C:\mysql-connector-java-5.0.4;C:\mysql-connector-java-5.0.4\mysql-connector-java-5.0.4-bin.jar;C:\mysql-connector-java-5.0.4\src\com\mysql\jdbc
    For installation I used manulas from:
    http://apacheguide.org/jsp.php
    http://doc.51windows.net/mysql/?url=/MySQL/ch23s03.html
    Here is also a test code in java:
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
       public class Connect
           public static void main (String[] args)
               Connection conn = null;
               try {
        conn =
           DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost/first_test" +
                                       "user=monty&password=greatsqldb");
        // Do something with the Connection
    } catch (SQLException ex) {
        // handle any errors
        System.out.println("SQLException: " + ex.getMessage());
        System.out.println("SQLState: " + ex.getSQLState());
        System.out.println("VendorError: " + ex.getErrorCode());
       }i'm desperate, please help or tell me someone who'll know the answer.
    Thank You in advance

    hey buddy .. it seems yr code is wrong .. in getconnection () method u should also specify the port ,which u r not doing ...
    the default port for MySQL is 3306 ... see below i am giving you a sample code ... its working fine .. and dont forget to put the MySQL driver jar path in to classpath and also copy the jar into common/lib folder of your tomcat ....
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.ResultSet;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    import java.sql.Statement;
    public class MySQLConnectionTest {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
    new MySQLConnectionTest().connTest();
    public void connTest() {
              String tableName = "portfolio"; //change as per setting
              String hostName = "10.81.9.39"; // please change for the target database ip or hostname
              String dbPort = "3306"; //change if not using the default
              String dbName = "tradingsystem"; //change as per the given DB name
              String username = "root"; //change as per setting
              String password = "password"; //change as per setting
              System.out.println("before try");
              Double data=0.0;
         Double data1=0.0;
              try {
    Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver");
                   System.out.println("before driver manager");
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://"+hostName+":"+dbPort+"/"+dbName, username, password);
    String query1 = "select * from "+tableName+" where User_id='trader1' and Stock_Type='Equity'";
    System.out.println("quesry1="+query1);
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs1 = stmt.executeQuery(query1);
    while(rs1.next())
         System.out.println("hiiiiii for rs1");
         System.out.println(rs1);
         Quantity=(Integer)rs1.getObject(5);
         MarketPrice=(Double) rs1.getObject(8);
         data=Quantity*MarketPrice;
         data1+=data;
         System.out.println("data1="+data1);
         i=0;
    rs1.close();
    stmt.close();
    conn.close();
    } catch (ClassNotFoundException e) {
    e.printStackTrace(System.err);
    } catch (SQLException e) {
    e.printStackTrace(System.err);
    i hope it will work for u...
    cheers,

  • Deploy Applet and MySQL - how to read and write

    Question on deploying Applet and MySQL
    I am building an applet that is to be a part of a simple game. The applet is supposed to read data from a MySQL server and use it to place towns on the map. In addition, the applet must be able to write to the base.
    I have build a prototype and ran it in netbeans on my computer. It then successfully read data from a local MySQL base. HOWEVER; when I embed the applet in html code it no longer reads from the base. My method for connecting to the base is
    try{
    Statement stmt;
    ResultSet rs;
    Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver");
    String url=adress;
    Connection con=DriverManager.getConnection(url, user, user);
    stmt=con.createStatement();
    rs=stmt.executeQuery("SELECT * " +
    "from "+table+" ORDER BY id");
    while(rs.next()){
    get data...
    Town T=new Town(data...); //construct town object
    TL.put(T); //put town objects in an object TownList to use later
    con.close();
    catch(Exception e){
    So;
    1) Why wont the applet read anymore?
    2) Is there a better way to do this? I have heard that its better to connect applets to servlets in some situations. What demands does this place on the server? Is there software that you need to install on the server to use servlets?

    I think I do need an applet. The map I have written permits a lot of features that I dont know how to achieve in another way.
    1) Zooming in and out on mousewheel
    2) Clicking on on two towns gives the distance and by selecting a trooptype one can get information about the traveltime between cities.
    3) Right now, I have a feature to find players or groups of players that are of special interest. It allows a player to submit a list of interesting players. The applet reads this list and provides a button with the players name. If one clicks the name of a player, all his cities flash between their originall color and white (using thread).
    I need java to do this and I need to run it in a webbrowser because there are som parts of the game that is made up of php. So I assume I have to build it as an applet?
