Deploy jsp page on default web app

Hi,
I have migrated from oracle application server 10g to oracle weblogic server 11g. howerver, I have a jsp page to be displayed as a welcome page to our application. In version 10g we used to deploy this jsp on $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/default-web-app folder. but now after migration I'm unable to display this JSP page although this directory exists in version 11g. does anyone know what's the web context root for this folder?also in version 10g there was a folder called $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/applib. I cannot find this folder anymore.
thanks

  • How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application witth just a JRE [Web Application, WAR, JSP, weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds and JRE]

How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application (either a .war file or a war directory structure) without a java compiler?
I suspect either the JSP specification is flawed (i.e. it doesn't take account of servers using just a JRE), or BEA's implementation is broken.
Production servers do not have a JDK installed. They only have a JRE. Therfore a java compiler is not present on the machine that the Web Application is deployed onto.
On the development machine, when the server is requested to load the JSP it creates a tmpwar directory within the Web Application directory structure. This is then included in the resultant .war file thus:
              D:\war>jar -tf gmi.war
              META-INF/
              META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
              gmiService.jsp
              WEB-INF/
              WEB-INF/classes/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/
              WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/gmiService.class
              WEB-INF/getList.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrict.xsl
              WEB-INF/getListByDistrictConnection.xsl
              WEB-INF/lib/
              WEB-INF/source/
              WEB-INF/source/build.bat
              WEB-INF/source/gmiService.java
              WEB-INF/web.xml
              WEB-INF/weblogic.xml
              tmpwar/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.class
              tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.java
When deployed on the production server with the web.xml file set to use the following values (note XML stripped):
              weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds
              -1
              weblogic.jsp.precompile
              false
              weblogic.jsp.compileCommand
              javac
              weblogic.jsp.verbose
              true
              weblogic.jsp.packagePrefix
              jsp_servlet
              weblogic.jsp.keepgenerated
              false
              And in the weblogic.properties file:
              weblogic.httpd.webApp.gmi=war/gmi
I've also tried with the .war file, but that insists on creating another tmpwar directory outside of the .war file.
Then, although I have set pageCheckSeconds to -1 (don't check and don't recompile) ter production server still attempts to recompile the JSP's:

The default Java compiler from sun lives in the tools.jar that comes with
the JDK. Just add that to your set of JARs which are deployed in production
and you should be fine. No need to install the full JDK - just make the
              tools.jar available to WebLogic.

  • Sorry, something went wrong - Open Office File from Search Results Page with Office Web Apps

    Hi,
I'm getting "Sorry, something went wrong" error when I'm trying to open any office document from inside Search Results Page with Office Web Apps, the same error is appearing in the document preview as well.
The error in SharePoint logs says that the file cannot be found.
Please note that this error is coming only when the "Filename" of the document is not written in English (in my case its written with Arabic characters).
If I try to open it from the document library, its opening properly with no errors.
    The only difference between two URLs (document URL in Search Results and in Document Library) is the value for "sourcedoc" attribute;
In the case of Search Results page, the filename in "sourcedoc" attribute is kept as is with Arabic characters.
While in the Document Library, the filename in "sourcedoc" attribute is converted into different characters (something like: "B9%D9%85%D9%8").
Anybody have an idea on how to overcome this issue, implement a workaround or modify the "sourcedoc" behavior?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Hamza AlSughier

    Dear Wendy,
Thanks for your efforts, I already tried your last suggestion before, but this didn't solve my problem.
Actually my end users are accessing this portal using ADFS and HTTPS.
Finally I got this solved, I have done below to get my overall solution working perfectly:
    - First I have configured Windows Authentication and ADFS Authentication on the same zone which is the default zone.
    - The issue when opening office documents with Arabic file name has disappeared as a result of first change.
    - Then I have faced an issue where we are not able to crawl content under Default zone, however we have to do so, after too many efforts, I found that its related to the Load-balancer/proxy, I have made the crawler server
    to crawl himself (http://CrawlServerName:PortNumber).
    - Also a change on Alternate Access Mapping was needed, I have set one of the extended zones (which is running Windows Authentication only) as Internal URL for the Default Zone, and this is was the URL I used for Crawling.
I have configured Server Name Mappings to make sure we got proper URLs in Search Results.
    - Then we faced another issue, which is Authentication selection on login page (How to bypass this page, and authenticate using ADFS auto), I used this solution (Set Custom Sign In Page):
    http://0ut0ftheb0x.wordpress.com/2014/01/04/skip-the-authentication-selection-page-at-_logindefault-aspx-in-a-mixed-authentication-environment/.
    - I faced one more issue as a result of above workaround; Sign Out functionality wasn't working well; users get logged in automatically whenever I click on Sign Out. I solved this by modifying the "Sign Out" Control under _layouts;
I made it to redirect users to ADFS Sign Out Page instead of SharePoint Sign Out Page (I know its not recommended, but I don't have any other option).

  • How to Build Custom JSP Page to bypass Oracle Apps Login

    Hi All,
Can some one guide me how to develop a custom jsp page to bypass Oracle Apps R12 Login.
Actually Our requirement is some external user will enter the login details in some third party login page with the third party generated username and passwrod, that user's credentials are mapped to oracle system,so as soon as they enter credentials having validated it has to redirect that external user to Oracle Apps R12 Home Page, where responsibilities are shown. Currently that third Party login page is set to redirect to RF.jsp but that is not working and throws this error:
"You are trying to access a page that is no longer active.
    - The referring page may have come from a previous session. Please select Home to Proceed"
So I am planning to build a custom jsp page to resolve the error.
As soon as user enter credentials in the third party login page, it will be redirected to my custom login page which in turn redirect external user to Oracle Apps R12 Home Page, where responsibilities are shown. Is it possible? If yes what JSP Page/Servlet I have to invoke from custom JSP Page and what all URL parameters or session parameters and cookies parameter I have to pass or set.
    Can anybody please help me...
Its very urgent. We are running short of time. Its a sev 1 issue.
    Please reply soon.
    Thanks,
    Raja Dutta

    Hi,
    Thanks for the update.
Sir its not about calling the JSP Page from OAF page.
My requirement is what I have explained above.
    Please suggest its urgent.

  • How to access non-default web app?

    Hello All,
I have installed the trial version of WL 6.1 and am having a bit of trouble accessing
any servlet that is not listed in config.xml as the WebServer's default web app.
Here is our WebServer node from config.xml. What does this node even do? Do
I need to configure a web server separately?
    <WebServer DefaultWebApp="ourApp"
    LogFileName="./config/TestServer/logs/access.log"
    LoggingEnabled="true" Name="TestServer"/>
Besides configuring the applications in the admin console, what else do I need
to do to be able to access my servlets? We had them running in a production version
of tomcat and are trying to get them running inside of WL to no effect.
TIA for any tips, answers, etc.
    Alex

    Hi.
Try using the webapp name in your uri if it is not the default webapp. for example:
    http://host:port/myWebApp/myServlet

  • Configuring default web apps for virtual hosts

    Hi,
This posting is meant save time for anyone trying to specify a default web app
for each of their virtual hosts (as opposed to specifying a default web app for
each of their wl servers). This applies to weblogic 6.1, on NT. (I haven't tried
    this on other platforms).
If you are trying to use the admin console to do this, give up. It's not possible.
The "Virtual Host/Configuration" window lets you specify everything about that
vhost configuration EXCEPT a default web app. (The "Default Web Application" drop
down menu will always have only one option to choose from: "none").
Instead, shutdown your server, and edit your domain's config.xml file manually.
Attached is an example config file that specifies that the web app "kz" should
be the default web app for the vhost "wl.kz.com", and that the web app "kahuna"
should be the default web app for the vhost "www.kahuna.com".
    Hope this helps,

    [config.xml]

    Hi,
Is it possible to configure default web appls for virtual hosts
with Weblogic 6.0 on NT platform? I tried to configure the configure.xml as Brian
did, it doesnot work. I am just wondering if there's any other possible way to
    do this.
    Thanks.

  • How to change the index page of tomcat to a specific page in a  web app.

    hi all
i am trying to figure out a way to change default application to a specific web application deployed in tomcat, so that when you type localhost:8080, it will start with the web app. basically i want to get ride of the context or map the context to the default page. i.e. map this http://localhost:8080/example/ to http://localhost:8080/. thanks.

maybe i didn't explain myself clearly as to what i needed to do.
i have created a web application and deployed into tomcat 5.5 with a context of "example". the path looks something like this: $catalina_home/webapps/example. in order to access the application, i need to type http://localhost:8080/example in the browser. is there any way to change it so that when i type http://localhost:8080, it will take me to my web application without accessing the tomcat index page.
    thanks.

  • JSP pages not working on app server but works locally

    Hello,
My application uses java, struts and jsps. When I try to access JSP page like http://appServer:7778/app/login.jsp, it says page not found exception. But when I access http://appServer:7778/app/login.do, it displays login.jsp page (success url for login action is login.jsp). How come I am not able to access jsp pages directly? Am I missing any settings?
And when I run the application using embedded OC4J of Jdeveloper, I could access jsp pages directly.
    Thanks.

The method getTextContent() is DOM Level 3, and was introduced with Java1.5
Tomcat 5.5 runs on Java1.5, but by default uses the JDT compiler for JSPs, which is only Java1.4 compliant - might possibly be that.
See the [url http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/RELEASE-NOTES.txt] release notes and
[url http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/jasper-howto.html]how to fix (see the section on configuration)
    >
The Java compiler from Eclipse JDT in included as the default compiler. It is an advanced Java compiler which will load all dependencies from the Tomcat class loader, which will help tremendously when compiling on large installations with tens of JARs. On fast servers, this will allow sub-second recompilation cycles for even large JSP pages. This new compiler will be updated to support the Java 5 syntax as soon as possible.
Apache Ant, which was used in previous Tomcat releases, can be used instead instead of the new compiler by simply removing the common/lib/jasper-compiler-jdt.jar file, and placing the ant.jar file from the latest Ant distribution in the common/lib folder. If you do this, you also need to use the "javac" argument to catalina.sh.

  • How can JSP pages be in WEB-INF?

Hi, I read in a tutorial that anything in the WEB-INF folder is basically private to the outside world, meaning they cannot access it.
I also read that JSP pages should be kept in the main folder of your application and any subfolders, but out of WEB-INF (which is for libraries, classes, and xml files).
However, another tutorial has instructed me to put some JSP pages in the main application folder, and some results JSP pages in a subfolder of WEB-INF, and it still works!
How is that so? The WEB-INF JSP pages are being accessed through a forward tag in my struts-config.xml file.

users can't directly access WEB-INF, but your app can.
just change the URL to point to the protected JSPs

  • How can I add a Last Update to a web page with a web app.

I would like to know how to update a webpage whenever a web app item has been added or updated last.
I have the tag {tag_lastupdatedate}  but it only works is only for the web app list or details page.
I want to be able to add the date and time as to when the entire list was last updated. Any suggestions? thanks!

    Hi DLSAgency,
There is a module called {module_lastupdated} and it will display the date when the web page it's on has been last updated, but there is no module that will display when the web app list inside that page was last updated. There no such functionality in BC.
    Cheers,
    Mario

  • Error while deploying .jsp page

    Hi all,
I created a single sample jsp page using jdeveloper and moved this jsp file to $OA_HTML. This page will be called from existing apps jsp page through hyperlink. When i click the hyperlink request passed for my jsp page but the following error occured,
"You are not authorized to access ABC.jsp".
What may be the problem. Do we have to register a jsp page. I already bounced the server.
    Thanks,
    Kannan

    Kannan,
seems to be obvious that the directory you are trying to access is security protected. So you need to logon

  • Page Titles in Web Apps for SEO not possible?

I was surprised to find that you cannot control the page title of a web app item.
    For example:
    http://tinyurl.com/7qc76gg
The page title is just "Brazil" and there's no way to control it? Ideally we'd want something like this for SEO reason.
Business Name - Destinations - Brazil

You could place the SEO Title in the field "Item Name" and then if you would like a different title for the entry, you can create a custom field.

How i can open a web link from JSP page to a new web
browser?JSPs can't open any client browser windows, if that's what you mean. Javascript and HTML can, though. You should get your understanding of JSPs straight.

  • Integrate web part page into access web apps

    Hi All,
Im using SharePoint 2013 online and Office 2013
I am working on an access project which would allow the user to upload documents to the documents folder in SP from within an Iframe in an access app all in the same SP.
The idea is that rather than having to move from one IE tab to the other the user can drag and drop the document in the iframe which will be in the pop up. then have a SP document list displaying bellow this iframe to confirm that the file has been
indeed uploaded. When I load the app I get a "This content cannot be displayed in a frame" my idea is based in a book "Professinal Access 2013 Programming" chapter 10 Inlining a web app in access web app. I have also read that I can have
a website viewer which can display a website, folder or file but its asking me for the path which I don't know and it doesn't take URLs.
I have googled and searched this forum but cant seem to get the documents forlder to display in the iframe.
I hope im clear and you guys can help me resolve this task.
    Thanks

    Hi,
You may use powershell script in order to copy et move your page to another location.
