Deploy One Ear file for Multiples Projects

Hi,
I work with JDeveloper 9.0.3 and BC4J+UIXML+Jsp Pages and I organize my application in multiple projects, each one contain BC4J and UIXML programs.
I have a problem in deploy my application with JDeveloper Deploy Profiles because I can't deploy multiples projects in on .ear or .war files.
Today in development time, i build or rebuild my project and copy all executable files in manual mode to Oracle 9ias OC4J directory, into a deploy of one project, but i think that proccess is not correctly.
What i need to do ?
thanks.
Danilo

In order to include other projects in the EAR, you need to create deployment profiles (WAR,Jar..)in each project which will archive the contents of the project.
After that you need to create an EAR deployment profile and edit the properties to include other deployment profiles created earlier.

  • Copying one .eas file for multiple sprite sheets.

Hi, I've been googling the web trying to find answer to a problem but haven't found a solution yet. Maybe someone here has an idea.
I'm working on a project with Edge Animate CC where I'm creating a multitude of different animated symbols from sprite sheets. The symbols/sprites, which there are a lot of, come in sets, each with a different character wearing different colour clothes. For example, there's one of a man in a white shirt walking, and then the same man in a blue shirt, a red shirt, and so on, and then the same for several other characters. Because each version of each character is the same except for a colour change, I've been trying to create one sprite sheet from Flash CC, make colour edits to the sprite sheet in Photoshop CC, save it with a new name, then import it into Edge Animate using the same spritesheet.
It seems straightforward enough but what I've learned is you can't use an .eas file with spritesheets other than the one it was created with in Flash. When I try it says the .eas file and the image don't match, and to check the paths for both files. When I copy the .eas file and rename it, giving it the same name as the new sprite sheet I want it to work with, I still get the same message. When I open up that .eas file in TextEdit and change the "image" filename in the "meta" section to correspond to that of the new sprite sheet, it still doesn't work. I don't see anything else within the .eas file that would tie it to any particular spritesheet, so between making that change and changing it's filename I would expect the .eas file would work the new sprite sheet.
I know I could create sprite sheets for each colour scheme of each character through Flash, but since they are all identical other than their colour it would save me a ton of time to just copy and edit the sprite sheets. The colour changes are not something I could do within Edge Animate.
Has anyone had similar issues? Any tips?
    -A

Hi Medley, Good to see that you are experimenting with the new SpriteSheet feature available in Animate CC 2014.
    Some points:
The EAS file format is currently only supported from Flash Pro CC 2014. There are some meta data tags that is read when you bring in an eas type spritesheet and therefore Animate will be able to import only the sprite sheets created from Flash Pro CC using the EAS route.
If you want to use spritesheets from other applications like photoshop, I would recommend that you don't enable the "load an eas file" check-box. In this case the sprite sheet PNG will be the only input that you need to specify in the Import dialog.
In this case you will need to have a sprite-sheet which has the individual sprites that is stacked out in order from left to right and top to bottom. You can then specify the rows and columns and the padding options in the Spritesheet import dialog in animate.
Let me know if this works for you.

  • Creating ear file from ADF project

    Hi All,
I have an ADF project which can be built and deployed using jdeveloper. And I have few ant tasks which I can use to deploy not create. Now I want to create an ear file for this project , are there any ant tasks available, if not , what should be my approach ?
    -Thanks

    Hi,
JDeveloper 10.1.3.x does not have Ant tasks that allows you deploy projects deployment configurations from a command line. This is planned for JDevelopepr 11

  • Ever-expanding file w/ "Deploy to EAR file"

If I don't delete any pre-existing EAR file in JDeveloper prior to choosing "Deploy to EAR file" for my application, JDeveloper seems to include the existing EAR file in the new EAR file, such that my EAR file grows with each deployment each time, from 60K to 120K to 240K to ... 10, 20 megabytes, etc. I can only get a clean "deploy to ear file" (chosen from right-clicking on the .deploy file in the Navigator) if I first delete the existing ear file. Is there a way to get JDeveloper to not do this, in case I forget to delete from disk first? Thanks.

I am exporting using the default settings for QT conversion for Broadband high quality. I didn't mess with any settings other than that. Any ideas?

  • Problems with deploying an EAR file (Geronimo)

    hey guys,
i just want to deploy one EAR-File with two different deployment plans. however, i get the following problem, even if i change the groupId, artifactId,... in the environment and in the modules of the deployment plan, when i deploy the EAR with the second deployment plan (after deploying with the first one):
"Application cannot be deployed as it contains deployment ids which are in use"
but the ids are completely unique in my deployment plan
Does anybody know how to fix that problem, or how to deploy two application-instances with one and the same EAR ??

  • One file for multiple IDOCs

    Hi,
Need help on IDOC files created on application server.
For IDOCs of EDI type generally one file is created on application server for one idoc. Is there any way to create a common file for multiple IDOCs that are created in a batch job?
    Thanking in anticipation

    Hi Sudhir;
Yes, it is a setting on the outbound parameters of the partner profile.  In the section for "output mode," select "Collect IDocs."  This link to help.sap.com describes the procedure:

  • Not able to create EAR file for WAR file extracted project

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to import a WAR file, make changes to the project and create an EAR file for the same. I am not able to remove import
errors despite of adding required jar files to it.
Also, I am not able to create an EAR file for the same.
I have copied the steps here with screen shots. Below are the steps :
Import WAR file in NWDS 7.3 – Enterprise Portal perspective
Select WAR file to create WAR and EAR project for it.
Project created with import errors.     e.g – com.sapportals.portal.prt*
Found jar file from Class – target jar file table.
e.g – for Class com.sapportals.portal.prt.resource.IResource needed jar file is tc~epbc~prt~api.jar
Copied required jar files in WEB-INF -> lib folder.
Configure Build path and Add External jars.
    Portalapp file screen shot
I think errors should go now, but they still exist.
Next I right click on WAR project and tried updating related EAR project.
Next, Export EAR file from EAR project.
I have tried both EAR types.
But EAR file is not created.
Please help me in removing the errors.
    Thanks in advance :-)

    Hi Anubha,
I feel that you're missing JAR dependencies and hence not able to resolve the above import errors.
Please go through the below thread for the AFP Masthead customization and follow the same:

  • SEPA file – how to create one file for multiple company codes

    Dear experts,
My company has multiple company codes and they process automatic payments (F110) for multiple company codes in the same run.
The company wants to generate one SEPA file for all company codes.
In OBPM1  for SEPA format in the section ``Payment medium output devided by level of detail`` I unchecked everything (attached).
OBPM4 for SEPA format is showing `` No separation of payment medium output``.
Unfortunately, when I run automatic payments (F110) for multiple codes, multiple files for each company code are created.
Can anyone let me know how it is possible to create one SEPA file that will contain payments for multiple company codes?
    Thank you

    Hi Zara,
Please check in transaction DMEE your format tree (eg. SEPA_CT), 'DMEE tree: properties' - tab 'Sort/key field'. Is the Sort/key field 'ZBUKR' defined there with Level 1?

  • Deployment of ear file - invalid file

    Hi,
i'm trying to deploy an ear file using the ANT wldeploy tasks.
    The file contains
    - ejb (separate jar for the client interfaces)
    - jpa persistence
    - webapp.
    The app server is 10.3.3
I can deploy the ear via eclipse with no problems on my local server.
When i try and publish/deploy on a remote server i get an error [Caused by: weblogic.deployment.EnvironmentException: duplicate persistence units with name . . .]
Hence the attept to depoy via ant. This method fails even on my local server. Saying the (ear) file is invalid.
It seems that the 'publish' action in eclipse performs modifications on the ear that the simple file->export->ear in eclipse doesnt do.
I then tried to package the the environment in the split directory structure (up until then i just used the standard eclipse setup - multiple java/j2ee projects).
That attempt failed at the wlappc stage. ArrayIndexOutofRange exception.
    Any ideas ?
    thanks,
    Michael

    Hi Steve,
    i've attached the stacktrace below.
It seems to me that the ear file is either unpacked incorrectly (ending up with two persistence xml files) or eclipse isn't packageing them the 'weblogic way'.
I found the cause of the ArrayIndexArrayOutofBounds exception when packageing with the wlappc task in the split directory setup: the references to the ejb and web modules in the application.xml have .jar/.war suffixes:
    <module>
    <ejb>ejbapp.jar</ejb>
removing these and the ear builds fine with wlcompile/wlappc. So i can package the ear using wlcompile/wlappc and deploy the ear manually via the admin console. unfortunately i still have to remove the suffixes. working on an xslt script to fix the suffixes.... :-)
    cheers,
    Michael

  • Error after Deploying a .ear File

    Hi,
I have deployed an .ear file on the SAP J2EE engine 6.20 on EP6.0 sp2. When I access one of the JSP's, I am getting a NoClassDefFound exception even though the particular jar (xml-apis.jar) file containing the class is in the additional-lib directory. Also, the jar file has been added to the classpath in go.bat? What other changes are to be done for a successful deployment?
Environment :EP6.0, sp2 hotfix4 on Windows 2003, MS SQL server DB.
    Please reply ASAP
    Thanks
    Bhanu

    hello,
have you tried including the 3rd party jar in your EAR file itself?
i use a number of external jars in my web app and ejb, including some xml parsing classes. what i did was to put them all in the EAR, at the root level, in other words, not in a sub-directory. then in my WAR's meta-inf/MANIFEST.MF file reference them in the Class-path. do simililar thing for the ejbs if necessary.
when you tried to use the inqxml instead, did you make a reference in manager/referecen.txt from your app to the inqmy library? if so, did you look into the inqmyxml.jar to see if the Node class is actually there?
    regards,

  • Out of Memory Error While deploying as EAR file

    Hai,
I was trying to deploy an EAR file of size 63 MB which inturn containing about 60 EJB.jars. No WARs. application.xml has all the entries for the JARs. While I am deploying it is giving Out of Memory Error. Is there any way to tweak this problem. I am using my own hand written java application which uses the SunONE deployment APIs for deployment. Can u please tell how to tackle this problem. I am running my application through a batch file which uses jdk1.4.
Please help me regarding this issue.

You can set the initial heap size and maximum heap size for the JVM, either in the app-server admin console, or maybe in one of your scripts. You look-up the syntax!...
I had this error yesterday. I too had run out of memory (150Mb). You simply need to allocate more to the app-server.

  • Handling source files for multiple versions

Ok, I've looked around on the web and multiple discussions and have yet to find an answer. We currently have two authors working on the same help project that we have handled relatively successfully under RoboSource. Our development environment has changed so that we need to be able to support multiple versions of the help at once ie- release branch vs development branch that we want documented but it is not yet slated to be in the release.
I've looked at the help for RoboSource and there is an idea of branching but not much help on how this is done or if it really maintains two sets of the files, etc. I've also seen some postings on the forum for this that have gone unanswered. Makes me suspect that perhaps RoboSource doesn't really support multiple versions of help source files. I would be happy to admit that I'm wrong here.
Another option to solve our challenge is by committing our source files to the development source system, SVN. I've noticed some threads discussing this. I'm unsure from reading these posts if RoboHelp alerts you when you are about to modify a file, such fpj or hhk, that is being used by someone else like RoboSource does. Since we still have two authors playing in the same help project it would be most efficient if it would notify us before letting us write over one another's work.
Can anyone shed some light on:
    1) does RoboSource really support multiple versions of the help source files and how it is done?
    2) does RoboHelp notice when a file is locked in SVN and notify the other author to keep hands off until it is committed again?
    3) is there somewhere better for me to research this?
Thanks you for any assistance you can provide,
    Nita

We're using RSC 3.1 with RH 8 and with RH X5, and we've found that this is actually a two-step process:
Branching is the method for copying a snapshot of a folder (to establish two branches of the same source).
Reconciling (AKA forward/back patching) is the method for synchronizing edits between branches (or not, as the case may be).
For example, a "V12.3" branch of the "main" source has been prepared for one customer's specific needs. All edits to "main" will be forward patched to "V12.3," but edits to specific areas of "V12.3" will not be back patched to "main."
Tim, my boss, prepared the tutorials below, as much for himself as for us, and I have only stripped the screenshots to protect our intellectual property. Note also that we reference two publish locations, one for internal reviewing, and one for Release Engineering to include in our nightly product builds. Your environment might only have a single publish destination. Note also that the output files are never added to RSC.
Pay special attention to your folder naming process before you start, by anticipating any potential future branching needs. Folder renaming after the fact can be problematic in RH and RSC.
    Good luck,
    Leon

    Branching Projects in RoboSource 3.1
Since the Help for RoboSource and Robohelp lack a proper explanation for branching and updating configuration files to support proper branching, this document has been created to assist in creating future branches.
    Creating New Local Directories
Individuals must create new local path directories on their systems. We use the following conventions:
              Ex. C:\902_imsmerge\projects (source folder)
              Ex. C:\902_imsgenerate\mergedProjects (output folder)
    Create New Server Directories
New server directories need to be created in two locations for holding the output files.
One is for the Robohelp output that gets put in the nightly .war file and checked into Perforce.
The other is in the wwwroot of our IIS server for our doc web site.
    They are defined as follows:
    \\docsql01\Documentation\RoboHelp\9.0.3\imsgenerate
    \\docsql01\Inetpub\wwwroot\help_sys\9.0.3
Create new directories with the correct branch number.
Using RoboSource View Manager to Create a Branch
You use the View Manager to create a new branch. In RoboSource 3.1, a branch is just a different type of view.
Assume the version_903 branch has already been created. To create a new branch, click the Create button and name the new branch (version_910), leaving a blank root folder.
Click on Set Root to define the root folder for the new branch.
Select the root for the branch and click OK.
Select the view (branch) and click Properties. In the Properties window, select Branch as the Type, then click Close.
In the View Manager, check the check box to enable the view.
Setting the Local Path for the New Branch
Select the new branch and right-click.
Type in or browse to the correct local path, check the Apply Recursively box, click Apply. Close the Properties window.
    Editing .xpj Files
The .xpj files in the new branch need to be edited to point to the new branch. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. IF NOT DONE ROBOHELP WILL CHECK IN CHANGES TO BOTH THE BRANCH AND THE ROOT.
One line in each project’s .xpj needs to change. See below.
This value must match the branch the project lives in. In our above new branch example this would be changes to %version_910.
In a merged project, you can change all these at once with the FAR tool.
Edit the .ssl and .sss files
These files need to be edited to redefine the generating and publishing paths. Note that this can also be accomplished with the FAR tool, or by having each writer do it through the GUI.
    ssl Files
The .ssl files contain the data for the generate path. Although there might be seven .ssl files for each project, you only need to edit the ones for your Primary Layout and one or two others that you might also use.
Make sure the generate path is defined correctly.
    sss Files
The .sss file defines the publishing paths. This edit can also be done through the GUI if necessary.

Forward and Back Patching in RoboSource
This document describes the procedure of forward or back patching files (.htm or .gif) between branches in the RoboSource system. The RoboSource product uses a feature called Reconcile Changes to accomplish patching between branches.
    Example Scenario
Throughout this document we will use a real life example from the refwindows project.
We have edited the version 9.0.3 security_master_folder.htm file in RoboHelp.
Now, we need to backpatch it to version 9.0.2.
Selecting Folders or Files to Reconcile
    You can select either:
    A single file for reconciliation
    The source folder, or
    The destination folder
If you have just one file to reconcile, you will probably want to use the single file method. If you have several files to reconcile, you will need to use the folder method.
    Working from the Source Folder
Select the source folder (folder that contains the updated file) in source control. In our case, %version_903/refwindows.
Select Reconcile Changes … from the Action menu. This opens the Reconcile window.
Select the appropriate option in the Reconcile window.
In our example we select the first option to reconcile from %version_903 because that is where our updated file is. Make sure the correct project is selected in the drop-down list. ($/version_902/refwindows).
    Other Options
Reconcile changes made in another branch *into %verison_903/refwindows. This is the option you would use if you have an updated file in another branch that you want to put in 903.
Reconcile changes made locally (in c:\903_imsmerge\projects\refwindows) and %version_903/refwindows. We would most likely never use this option.
Reconcile changes made in another database *into* this database. Do not use.
None of the above, let me select what to Reconcile. This one sounds like it would be a good option, but it gets even more complicated.
Wildcard Filter. Use this to display only certain file types. For example, *.htm;*.gif;*.jpg would filter on those file types.
Click OK to open the Difference Reconciliator window.
Notice that this window shows all files in the project that have differences such as the .ssl and .xpj files.
IMPORTANT: NEVER reconcile these files, they are supposed to be different.
You can prevent these files from displaying by using the Wildcard Filter discussed above.
Select the appropriate file (security_master_folder.htm). This window will allow you to replace the file in the version_902 project unfortunately, it will also allow you to replace the updated file with the older one. Be Careful Here.
You can also View Differences from this window by clicking the View Differences link.
Click the Replace button in the $/version_902 pane.
You will get a confirmation dialog. Before clicking OK, take the time to read the question. This is your opportunity to catch potential mistakes!
You will then get the Reconcile Checkout dialog.
Be sure Perform the action directly on the Server is checked, click OK.
You see that the Difference Reconciliator window now indicates No changes to merge from %version_903/rewindows/security_master_folder.htm in the $version_902 pane.
    Close the window.
    Check the Destination Folder
In the source control window go to the destination branch and check the project. You can see in this shot that the security_master_folder.htm file now shows the date it was replaced, and that the server version is now different from your local version.
    Working from the Destination Folder
If you had chosen the destination folder and select Reconcile Changes, the same window would have opened but with different options.
Here you would have selected the second option to reconcile into $/version_902.
You can do it either way, just pay careful attention to the options. The rest of the process is the same.

    Hi Chandra,
One of the reason for this problem could be that
your LDAP server has got corrupted. To verify that
if possible, try to deploy this in any other
instance of application server pointing to a
    different LDAP.
Another reason could be, problem with your
build.xml file. Did you build this myapp.ear
from scratch or did you use the build.xml from
    one of our sample application?
If you have used one of our sample application
build.xml, there is a high possibility that
you might not have changed the name of your
application in one of the entries.
    Thank you

Is there any possibilty to integrate a EAR file with cq5 project??? the ear file is generated from a WSDL..

Is there a reason why you need an "ear" file ? So what is the task you want to fullfill.
For me it sounds like you want to integrate a jax-ws service inside a cq5 project. To achive that you have to integrate a jax-rs client in cq5.
One option to achive that is to integrate Apache CXF like documented here:
    http://www.pro-vision.de/adaptto/downloads/110915_adaptto_sling_cxf.pdf
    Samplecode can be found here:
