Deploy to Apache in 9i Rel2

Hi, I'm learning Jdeveloper and tried the tutorials for creating JSP/BC4J. I substituted the OE schema for one of my own and ran the tutorials. I created pages just fine, and ran them in the self-contained server that you use to test with.
However, I am running the stock Apache Server that comes with Oracle 9i Rel2. How do I deploy to that server? I tried creating a .war file from Jdev, then extracting it to my document root/application_name (useradmin is what I called the app). When I go to execute I get this error:
Error Message: JBO-26001: XML File not found for the Container useradminjsp.cpx
I'm wondering if this approach does not work for the old Apache that comes with Oracle. Is it more complicated than just copying the files to the server directories? Also, is there a place to find what those JBO errors are? It would be nice to be able to just look things up.
I'd prefer not to upgrade my web server, as not everybody I'm going to be dealing with in the future will have that option. I can, if I have to, but my potential clients (keeps fingers crossed, nothing going yet) might have some grief.

Shay, I appreciate the help, but I think I'm a little too green for this. The Apache Server that comes with Oracle 9i Rel2 doesn't seem to have the OC4J server. If it does, I'm not sure how to tell what I have. I know I have the proper JSP container, as I am able to run JSPs.
In the jserv.properties file that comes with Apache, it references some ocs4j files in the classpath, but I don't think that is enough. Most of the doc I have read refers to copying BC4J files into the proper OC4J directories. I don't have those directories, so that is why I am assuming I don't have a full OC4J installation. Does that come with the stock Oracle Apache installation?
If this topic is too juvenille for this forum, please feel free to contact me via email. It is in my profile. I don't fully understand some of the terminology regarding deployment. I do understand XML, and I have over 20 years as a developer, but trying to match up all of the pieces is a little too much.
What I am trying to do is create an application that some friends think I can sell. I have a great data model, and some business logic inside, but using the various Java tools and web servers is a little overwhelming. I feel like if I can get over the hump on the deployment, I can really contribute to the world of software. Seems like these tools, once properly learned can be powerful.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

  • Problem when rendering a report in BI Publisher deployed on Apache Tomcat

    Hello for all.
First, I am going to tell you technical specifications about the software where I have deployed BI Publisher:
    1. OS: Windows XP SP3
    2. JDK and JRE: 1.6.0_24
    3. Apache Tomcat: 5.5.33 (Set JVM Max Memory in 768MB)
    4. BI Publisher EE: 10.1.3.4.1
I have deployed BI Publisher on Apache Tomcat without any problem, I uploaded Report files (both XDO and RTF), and I can see the reports in XML output format, but when I try to see the reports rendered by using the rtf file I have configured, BI Publisher shows me an Error; I checked the Apache Tomcat log and the following error is reported:

I checked that the url http://localhost:8080/xmlpserver/SubTemplates/sub-template-parameters.rtf would be accesible via Internet Explorer, and It is accesible.
I am glad if you can tell me what could be the cause of the error.
    Thanks.

Finally, I stop working in the implementation of BIP over Apache Tomcat; I installed OC4J 10.1.3.5.0 (standalone installation) and I deployed BIP on it.

  • Deploying with apache

    Hi,
I'm trying to deploy a test java ME application to my mobile phone via my own apache web-server. I have configured the server with the mime-types and the jar downloads correctly to the phone but at the end of the download it says server-error when trying to install.
The file works perfectly if I upload/download it via some other public server.
    Is this java or apache?

Are u giving path of JAD or JAR ? it is strange that it downloads and after that it gives the error.
Can u also paste the mime types u configured here ?

Maybe your web.xml is wrong. Doublecheck it.

    Hi All,
I am trying deploying my apache restful webservice in Weblogic12c application server and I am facing below issue:

In my initial research I have found that with servlet version 3.0 in web.xml JAX-RS scanning is a key feature of Javaee 6. And weblogic uses jersey for it.
Is there any way to tell weblogic to not look for Jersey jars that are already in its modules folder.

  • Deploy BC4J on apache server

    hi everyone,
on which web servers can we deploy BC4j?
Is creating jar files enough? What extra we have to do
We want BC4j to deploy on apache server, which i think does not support jsp.So what we need to do and how?
    tnx in advance.

For JSP support on apache, download the OJSP product from OTN. It comes with instructions for configuring apache to run JSP pages.

  • Deploying BC4J on Apache

What are the steps one needs to follow while deploying BC4J to Apache as a middle-tier library? Any URLs where this is discussed?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello ,
You just need to have the BC4J application
classes & the BC4J framework jar files
placed in the middle tier (
JBO , and have them included in your CLASSPATH.The BC4J classes
then could be accessed from a java application deployed on Apache.
This is similar to Local deployement.

      </GlobalNamingResources>
and add this line in context.xml file inside <context> tag
    <ResourceLink global="jdbc/TestDB" name="jdbc/TestDB" type="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource"/>

Normally you don't have to worry about deployment a lot if you are using like Netbeans 7.2 or higher.
When you press 'Clean and build' it creates your deployed files in the 'dist' folder.
You can change specification by adapting the build.xml file.
Of course lot of different possibilities are available for deployment!
You can find lot of info here:
Important to know is if you want to work with
    - a standalone application (self-contained or not)
    - with webstart
    - or with applets
(In my case I'm using webstart, but also Self-Contained Application Packaging (jre is also installed!)

  • Issue on Deployment of AXIS framework in PI 7.0 Server.

    Hi Experts,
We have a requirement of Using AXIS Framework in Receiver SOAP adapter in PI 7.0.Moreover we need USERNAME token with PasswordDigest. We have deployed aii_af_axisprovider.sda file in PI server with all relevant .jar files. However when we are checking the url http://host:port/XIAxisAdapter/MessageServlet its showing following optional components are missing.
    1)XML Security API
    2)Apache WSS4J
    3)Apache Addressing
However we have used wsdl4j-1.5.1.jar file.We have added entry for wsdl4j-1.5.1.jar  in provider.xml as well. However it still showing warning that optional component is missing
Could you please let us know which version we need to deploy for Apache WSS4J in PI server or do we need to do any other configuartion apart from above configuration so that to enable the UserNameToken security with passwordDigest.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Accessing RMI Application through an Applet hosted on Apache web server

    Hi All,
Just to let you know, I'm a complete novice at RMI. Ok, heres the story...I have an applet which is deployed on Apache Webserver (localhost), with the neccessary files needed for the RMI app in the same directory - htdocs(i.e. Applet class, RMI Interface, and Stub). I have the object server running on the same machine - which is in the directory C:/pumps. For the binding I'm using rmi://localhost/PumpService. I'm running the rmiregistry in the C directory. The problem is that when I access the applet through localhost(i.e. http://localhost/pumps.htm) it doesnt work, doesnt seem to access the remote object. However, if I directly load the html page from C:/Apache2/htdocs/pumps.htm - it works perfectly. Any ideas on the way I could get it working through the localhost?
    Thanks...

    The problem is that
when I access the applet through localhost(i.e.
    http://localhost/pumps.htm) it doesnt work, doesnt
seem to access the remote object. Are the exception and the line of code you get it on a secret?

  • Deploying WebServices to WebLogic 7.0

I'm trying to test a webservice I developed with JDev 9.0.3.
The deployment profile looks fine; it includes the web.xml with the servlet mapping and the three params (class-name; interface-name and session-timeout)
I can get the test page of the webservice with all the methods I decided to include; i can also see the WSDL page that gets generated....
But when I try to actually test one method of my webservice, I'm getting an exception that's confusing me.
It's a ClassCastException referencing a WebLogic internal class but it's coming from a oracle internal class.
I think iAS classes are expecting another class as the context of the servlet but i'm not really sure.
What follows is the stack trace.

If you want to deploy Web services to BEA from Oracle9i JDeveloper you will probably have to use the Oracle SOAP approach which is based on Apache SOAP. This would mean that you have to do the following:
    1. first configure Apache SOAP (2.3.1)
    2. When running the Web service publishing wizard in JDeveloper choose Oracle9iAS 1.0.2.2/Apache SOAP 2.2 as your type of Web service (it really is Apache SOAP 2.3.1 but the screen was not updated)
    3. Deploy from JDeveloper both the underlying class and descriptor (read the Oracle9i JDev help for steps for deploying the Apache SOAP as they differ from the Oracle9iAS Web services
The first choice in the publish Web service wizard, Oracle9iAS Web services (what you describe here), is pretty much dependent on Oracle9iAS whereas the Oracle SOAP is pretty much native Apache SOAP which can be deployed from xml.apache.org/soap to BEA.
This issue will likely get less dramatic as both Oracle and BEA move to JAX-RPC in J2EE 1.4 where the implementation model for Web services is standardized. We hope to have our first JAX-RPC release available in the first half of this year.
    Mike.
