Deploying ajax calls into framework

Hi, currently running Sun Web Server 7.0 on windows and a flavor of unix
with success, was able to run apache's SweetDevRia (ajax) "framework"/component set.
But once I place a session definition in the sun-web.xml at the WEB-INF directory, hell lets loose.
here is my sun-web.xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE sun-web-app PUBLIC '-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Sun ONE Application Server 7.0 Servlet 2.3//EN' 'http://www.sun.com/software/sunone/appserver/dtds/sun-web-app_2_3- 0.dtd'>
<sun-web-app>
<class-loader delegate="true" ></class-loader>
<session-config>
<session-manager persistence-type="s1ws60">
     <manager-properties>
          <property name="classname" value="com.iplanet.server.http.session.IWSSessionManager"/>
          <property name="session-failover-enabled" value="true"/>
          <property name="timeOut" value="3600"/>
     </manager-properties>
     <store-properties>
          <property name="classname" value="com.iplanet.server.http.session.FileStore"/>
          <property name="directory" value="C:/Temp/SDR-SESS"/>
     </store-properties>
</session-manager>
</session-config>
</sun-web-app>
here is a taste of the exceptions i am looking at-

any ideas?
Thanks, payam.

Apparently something -- perhaps SweetDEV RIA itself -- is storing non-serializable data in sessions. You've configured Web Server to use the Web Server 6.0 FileStore. Because FileStore serializes sessions to files, it doesn't work with sessions that contain non-serializable data. You'll either need to stop storing non-serializable data in sessions or use a different session store.

  • Is it possible to monitor all calls into all EJBs deployed on a server?

    Is there any way of monitoring all calls into the EJBs deployed in a server?
    I'd like to be able to externally log the calls, and perhaps do some monitoring at the call level, without modifying the EJBs themselves. Something along the lines of servlet filters for servlets, but for EJBs instead..
    JBoss has a nice plugin interface, and one could either extend the Logging plugin, or write another one, that can do this.
    But is there an analog in other J2EE servers (e.g. weblogic and websphere)? Or is that a standard or clever way of intercepting all calls? (I suppose one could use Ethereal, but I was hoping for a higher-level solution).
    Duke dollars available!

    Hi,
    In JBoss they use Log4J to log and intercept the Bean calls and JDBC calls. You can use Log4J to do the same with other servers also, cause I configured OC4J(Oracle 9iAS) Server to use log4J and it worked for me. I think other servers can also be configured to use log4j. I've only tried this with JBoss and OC4J. I don't have much experience with other servers.
    So, my advise is : try LOG4J and try to configure server to use LOG4J
    Hope this works!

  • AJAX call function

    i have all my functions in a java class file....how do i call the function using ajax? does anyone know?
    thx

    Have you considered using DWR for your AJAX calls. It's a very simple open source framework for implementing AJAX into your Java Web application. One of the benefits of using DWR is easy browser compatibility, the framework will generate most of the client side javascript for you, all you have to do is define your java classes in the dwr.xml, and define the dwr servlet in your web.xml.
    I highly recommend using DWR for your AJAX calls.

  • How to handle jquery and ajax call in single page application using coded ui

    Hi,
    I am facing a very tricky situation while using coded ui. My application interact with ajax and I was facing the issue to handle the ajax in the login page and other pages. I went through the post : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17849074/jquery-ajax-success-not-getting-triggered-with-coded-ui-test-project
    and got solution for my problem. Now when ever a ajax is getting called in the page its getting handle with app config file. However the issue I am facing right now is.
    When i click on a button a window will appear which is actually a "div tag". Please see the image below. In  the that window when I have to select a item from drop down, the ajax will get called, however it will get called only for the window,
    it wont be called for the entire page.. i.e. it will update only the window. I am not able to handle this ajax call, script gets stuck in refresh state. I will request you guys to provide a work around for it.
    I would like to add more details - Visual studio version - 2013 update 3, IE11.
    Application details: Its a single page application which uses bootstrap framework. All the ajax call are dynamic.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the reply.
    The window is not exactly a pop up window. Its a div tag in the same page. As this is my first time to work on  a single page application I am not sure how it works. For the entire page I am able to handle the ajax call however the action performed
    in the div tag is not getting handled.
    Code for the window, I am not sure to what extend will it be helpful.

    I agree the point the UI has to be active or else the script will have issue during the playback. In my scenario I have to work on that window. I have to perform action on it. Now when the window(div thing) comes up the page in the background goes disable
    till the action is performed on the window or the window is closed. I have to perform action on it then only I can proceed with the TC automation. Please let me know any option to solve this problem.

    Hi Ben,
    well I tried out your code and it works with an small correction of your insert:
    save: function(){
            var oData = new sap.ui.model.odata.ODataModel('...censored.../BL_TI/2005/TEST_USER/Opportunities.xsodata', true);
            // New user panel
    //        var pnlUser = new sap.ui.commons.Panel({text: "User-Data"});
    //        var tfUserId = new sap.ui.commons.TextField({placeholder: "User-Id"});
    //        var tfUserName = new sap.ui.commons.TextField({placeholder: "User-Name"});
    //        var btnSave = new sap.ui.commons.Button({text: "Save"});
    //        pnlUser.addContent(tfUserId).addContent(tfUserName).addContent(btnSave);
    //        btnSave.attachPress(function() {
            var entry = {};
            entry.ID = "3"; //tfUserId.getValue();
            entry.USERNAME = "4"; //tfUserName.getValue();
            oData.create('/USER', entry, null,
                    function() {
                alert("Create successful");
            function() {
                alert("Create failed");
    Try to write your id instead of  3 -> "3" That was the only what I´ve changed.

  • How do I update a bean value from an AJAX call?

    Hi all,
    How do I update a bean value from an AJAX call? I suppose I could write a servlet to do it. However, this seems like a common problem, so I was wondering if there was some built in solution.
    Thanks,
    Grae

    Basically, I would user the following. The first choice for IE, the second for Firefox.
    new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
    new XMLHttpRequest();
    GraeDon't do this to yourself. If it were that easy there wouldn't be AJAX frameworks for JSF. Find one you like and use it. I've used a4j (part of RichFaces) successfully.

  • AJAX Call make SP to show the "Are you sure you want to leave this page" dialog box

    Hi all,
    I have a problem while editing properties of a Page. We have a custom Content Types which includes a field with a custom type (and custom control). The Custom control includes an UpdatePanel. The control is a tree view, so each time we expand a node, there
    is an AJAX call.
    The control is displayed on the page on Edit Mode. When we use the control from Edit Mode, expanding each node result in displaying the dialog box to ask the user if he wants to leave or stay on the page.
    When using the same control from the "Edit Properties" form, expending the nods works perfectly.
    Also I couldn't reproduce the problem on FireFox, it only happens on IE.
    Using fiddler I could see a difference between the Post requests depending on the above scenarios.
    When using the custom Tree View from the Edit Page mode which result into the error, the POST request does not include the
    x-microsoftajax: Delta=true
    in the request header.
    When using FF or the Tree View from the Edit Properties window, the above header is present and the dialog box is not shown.
    Does anyone have an idea why I'm not having the the correct header with IE when using the control from Edit Mode?
    Cheers,
    Séb

    Hi,
    According to your post, an error occurred when you used Ajax in SharePoint.
    Please do as follows:
    1. Try to uncheck the Enable native XMLHTTP support option in IE's advanced options.
    Go to Tool->Internet Options->Advanced and disable “Enable native XMLHTTP support”.
    2. Use jQuery Ajax to call.

  • Secure AJAX calls made from a JSR 168 portlet

    I am investigating methods to secure AJAX calls made from a JSR 168 portlet to a servlet using the Direct Web Remoting framework (DWR) and Weblogic Portal. The portlet can have more than one instance and different entitlements depending on the desktop it is available from. The Portal has several desktops and does not require the user to authenticate for some of the desktops.
    So far the only method I have come up with is to pass a token from the portlet to the servlet which indicates the entitlements the user should have to access the documents from the portlet and check in the servlet if the User has the appropriate global roles to access the documents.

    no , that doesn't work, the token passed can be modified by a malicious user (unless the token is random or signed)
    You need to store the desktop(s) the user is on in probably the HttpSession and read that from the servlet and make the decisions accordingly.

  • Issue while making a AJAX call to a servlet in ALUI.

    Hi,
    The problem scenario is :
    I log into the portal using "http://147.149.132.93:7001/portal/server.pt"
    i have two instances of applications which have same files but provide different functionality one on 147.149.132.93 and other on 147.149.132.102 .
    I have configured my portlet that points to the application on 147.149.132.102 , when i make a ajax call to a servlet using the relative path for the aaplication , in normal scenario the ajax should make call to the servlert on the 147.149.132.102 but this does not happen and ajax makes call to the servlet on the machine 147.149.132.93 .
    Is there any issue regarding usage of Ajax in ALUI portal?
    Why the Ajax takes the server path from the portal login URL and not from the remote server configured for the portlet ? ?:|
    HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Regards,
    Prashant

    I m also facing same problem. I resolve the problem by simply giving >complete servlet address in ajax call.There are 2 issue with this:
    1) AJAX call will bypass portal, so it makes calls unsafe + you can not use portal functionality anymore. Plus some other issue like session expiration and so on.
    2) URL is hardcoded, so it's difficult to manage.
    All calls (include ajax) have to go through portal in portal environment. It means that AJAX url has to be gatewayed like any other url. There is no issue with ajax in portal. In G6 make sure that <inline> refresh checkbox (for WS) is unchecked.
    Here is example how to create AJAX URL on the fly by using Javascript. Let's say we have 2 files in root folder of <RemoteProjectName> web application:portlet.jsp file and ajaxExample.jsp.
    Code in portlet.jsp may looks like
    <script>
    var Url = "<pt:url xmlns:pt='http://www.plumtree.com/xmlschemas/ptui/' pt:href='ajaxExample.jsp'/>";
    </script>
    Here is what you can get as result of this transformation (based on data provided in first post):
    http://147.149.132.93:7001/portal/server.pt/gateway/PTARGS_0_0_XXX_XXX_X_XX/http%3B/147.149.132.102%3B/RemoteProjectName/ajaxExample.jsp
    where XXX - are numbers specific to particular portal environment.

  • Ajax call in portal

    Hi All,
    I am trying to make an AJAX call using XMLHTTPRequest object like this
    XmlReq.onreadystatechange = HandleResponse;
    myURL = "AjaxServerPage.aspx";
                   refreshURL = "<pt:url pt:href='"+ myURL + "'/>";
          XmlReq.open( "GET", refreshURL, true); XmlReq.send();
    on the bold line it stops responding and fails to get the ajax response.
    If some one has tried out the same code ....Please let me know....
    regards
    Kumar

    You can't concantenate a string to create a PT tag in Javascript as it will not execute. PT tag execution occurs on the server long before the browser gets ahold of the page. Javascript is executed in the browser.
    What nrohit says will work if the URL you need to use is static, since, but if the URL needs to be a variable, what you want to use are the ALI Scripting Framework APIs
    http://edocs.bea.com/alui/devdoc/docs60/References/api_index.htm
    Here you'll will find some functionality to create the gatewayed URL that you're looking for.

  • No Data retrieved with AJAX Call HTMLDB_GET when using Safari Browser

    In my apex (4.0) app i have certain page a which uses JS AJAX htmldb_get to pull some data from an on-demand process using xml structure
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null, $v('pFlowId'),
    'APPLICATION_PROCESS=get_markerdata', $v('pFlowStepId'));
    if (!MEBMarkerdataXML) {// Tabelle mit Kunden leer? Dann aus DB abfragen
    MEBMarkerdataXML = get.get('XML');
    l_Count = MEBMarkerdataXML.getElementsByTagName("Kunde").length;
    I ran into a strange behavior when using Safari Browser (Mac and Windows) when opening the page.
    As long as the process retrieves less than 50 rows everything works fine. The data is pulled from the OnDemand Process and delivered to the browser; the XML Data can be selected in JS for further processing

    This occurs only on some Mac's and my Dev WIN-XP PC using SF Browser; never on iPad/iPhone . Never when using FF on Mac or PC.
    I googled a lot of different Sources, it seems to be a Timeout Problem when making a long runing AJAX Call. But i did not find any useful hint.
    Any Ideas from the APEX & HTTP Gurus?
    Regards
    Peter

    It's just that in my experience htmldb_Get.get() is troublesome for browsers, due to the fact it performs a synchronous request. The browser can do nothing else while it waits for the response. I've seen Firefox really struggle with it in the past couple years. Also, I've seen no good reason to use synchronous XMLHttpRequest calls. As you can see, it's simple to refactor a call to htmldb_Get.get() into a call to htmldb_Get.GetAsync().
    For your case in particular, I was just guessing Safari have implemented a timeout to ensure that they don't end up waiting indefinitely for a request that never returns as this would be fatal. You're probably hitting that timeout.
    I don't think htmldb_Get is officially documented anywhere, but you can find the source here... http://apex.oracle.com/i/javascript/uncompressed/apex_4_0.js
    There is also a pure jQuery way to perform AJAX request, I recommend using this because at least it's documented. Here's a snippet of a typical APEX AJAX request done the jQuery way:
    apex.jQuery.ajax({
      dataType: "xml", //supports text, xml, json, jsonp, script, or html
      type: "post",
      url: "wwv_flow.show",
      traditional: true,
      data: {
        p_request: "APPLICATION_PROCESS=get_markerdata",
        p_flow_id: $("#pFlowId").val(),
        p_flow_step_id: $("#pFlowStepId").val(),
        p_instance: $("#pInstance").val()
      success: function (data, textStatus, jqXHR) {
        // Do your thing in here
      error: function (xhr, ajaxOptions, thrownError) {
        // Handle error in here
    });Then you can refer to great documentation here... http://api.jquery.com/jQuery.ajax/

  • Using jQuery Ajax Call within ApEx - How?

    Hi,
    I was just wondering if it's possible to replace Oracle ApEx way of performing ajax calls with a jQuery Ajax call instead - just curious if I can call an On Demand process using jQuery Ajax means?
    Any examples would be much appreciated as unsure how to perform the equivalent process with jQuery.
    Thanks.
    Tony.

    I guess I found the solution for region pull for IR report
    using the syntax
    gReport = new apex.worksheet.ws('');
    in the js script below.
    When I pull the IR region from page8 into page1, I found that the IR toolbar's html/Js scripts are missing in Page1
    and thats why the IR toolbar functions were not working, issuing "gReport is null or not an object" error.
    But when I added the
    gReport = new apex.worksheet.ws('');
    syntax in the JS script below, the toolbar functions work using the p_arg_value.
    <script>
    function display_report(p1) {
    $s('P1_SELECTED_NODE',p1);
    $.ajax({
    type: "POST",
    url: "wwv_flow.show",
    data: {
    p_flow_id : $v('pFlowId'),
    p_instance : $v('pInstance'),
    p_flow_step_id : "4",
    p_request : "SUBMIT",
    p_arg_name : 'P4_SELECTED_NODE',
    p_arg_value : $v('P1_SELECTED_NODE')
    dataType: "html",
    success: function(data){
    var startTag = '<apex4ajax>';
    var endTag = '</apex4ajax>';
    var start = data.indexOf(startTag);
    if (start > 0) {
    data = data.substring(start+startTag.length);
    var end = data.indexOf(endTag);
    data = data.substring(0,end);
    $("#EMP_REPORT").html(data);
    //Workaround to make the report "pagination" and "order by" work
    $x_Value('pFlowStepId', "4");
    gReport = new apex.worksheet.ws('');
    //gValid = new apex.validation.v();
    //gReport.navigate.paginate('pgR_min_row=51max_rows=50rows_fetched=50');
    //gReport.controls.reset();
    </script>

  • Why batch run the script will block the ajax call?

    I added a script that call an ajax to write text file, However, the script is run as usual in the acrobat program. However, if I run the sequence file through batch , the ajax call will be blocked. That means, I can only write two times no matter there are many ajax request
    Ajax code: (Get the filepath and create an ajax function)
    filePath = this.path;
    ajax = app.trustedFunction(function(fURL) {
        app.beginPriv();
        fURL = fURL + '?path=' + filePath;
        var params = { cVerb:"GET", cURL:fURL, oHandler:{
            response:function(msg,uri,e,h){}}};
        Net.HTTP.request(params);
        app.endPriv();
    Ajax code: (make an ajax request, I suspect that is caused by too frequent ajax call but in fact it is not)
    app.setTimeOut( ajax("http://localhost/DEV/ajax_optipng1.7/check.php") , 10000 ) ;
    PHP code: (call this file to write text file)
    <?php
    if (isset($_GET["path"])) {
              $productName = explode("/", $_GET["path"]);
              $fileName = $productName[count($productName) - 1];
              $productName = $productName[count($productName) - 4];
              require_once ('folderConfig.php');
              $processedFile = array();
              if (file_exists($statusFile)) {
                        $processedFile = json_decode(file_get_contents($statusFile));
              array_push($processedFile, $fileName);
              file_put_contents($statusFile, json_encode($processedFile));
    ?>
    How to fix the problem? I would provide any extra information to clear the situation , thanks

    You're using 'this.path' which implies you're in a document context, but the Net.HTTP.request method can't be called there.
    Loking at your other posts, you seem to be getting into a real tangle attempting to automate things that just aren't supposed to be.

  • Deployment not logging into domain

    I am working for an organization that deploys Windows 7 professional  from 2012 sccm server.  I did not set up the image or deployment.  The person who did just left our organization.  I was instructed to change our main admin passwords
    on all of our servers, and after doing so, our deployments will not log into the domain automatically like they used to.  I have experience with Windows Server 2008 but do not have 2012 experience.  I am assuming there is a task or a configuration
    file somewhere that contains our Active Directory login info and since the password is changed is not allowing the deployment to log into the domain.  Any ideas where I can change the password to the new password to make it work?  I have tried contacting
    my previous coworker for the answer but they are not answering.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I'd strongly recommend that you create a dedicated service account for the purpose of joining computers to the domain. This way you're in control of what's happening.
    For now you'd be OK to use the same account as in your Windows 7 task sequence, given it got the proper permissions to join computers to the domain, in the OU specified. :)
    A service account for the purpose could be called: SCCM_JD
    It needs following permissions on the OU:
    Create computer objects
    Delete computer objects
    And for descendant computer objects:
    Read all properties
    Write All Properties
    Read Permissions
    Modify Permissions
    Change Password
    Reset Password
    Validated write to DNS host name
    Validated write to service principal name
