Deploying Doc/Lit WS generated by JDev 10.1.3 to iAS 10.1.2

Hi,
I am trying to publish a package as a Document/literal web service using JDeveloper10.1.3.
When I deploy the .ear file so generated to Oracle Application Server v10.1.2.0.0, I get the following error:
Deployment failed: Nested exception
Resolution:
Base Exception:
java.rmi.RemoteException
deploy failed!: ; nested exception is:
oracle.oc4j.admin.internal.DeployerException: Unknown assembly root-tag attribute: xmlns:xsi.
I have been told that this is because JDeveloper deploys using application.xml, which is only valid in J2EE1.4, and Oracle iAS 10.1.2 only supports J2EE1.3. I can't upgrade to iAS 10.1.3 as it's not ready for production yet.
Is there any workaround that will allow me to create a Doc/Lit webservice from a package and deploy it to iAS 10.1.2?
Many Thanks,
Vid

Hi Vid,
To be able to deploy Doc-literal Web services on 10.1.2, you have to select the J2EE 1.3 type of web services when you create the first Web Service of a project. Once you have create a 1.4 service, the dialogue is not displayed again for the given project.
The other source you have is correct. the JAXRPC based type of Web service that is generated with JDeveloper 10.1.3 cannot be deployed on 10.1.2, as the new runtime is not available there.
One way to get a Doc-lit service on 10.1.2 is described in Mike's blog [1]. THe WSDL file generated in 10.1.3 is a good start, as it will enable an easier migration to 10.1.3, once it's available.
Hope this Helps,
Eric

  • How to generate doc/lit/wrapped services from existing wsdl?

    Hello,
I am using workshop 10.1 to generate webservices from existing wsdl files from workshop 8.1. The existings webservices are based on an xmlbean utility project.
When I generate the webservice from the existing wsdl file it generates automatically services with doc/lit/bare operations. I found in the known issues that this combination is not supported in combination with xmlbeans.
    See: CR283457
XBeans are not supported as parameters or return type for doc/lit/bare operations.
Use of Xbeans as a parameter or return type with doc/lit/bare bindings is not supported in operations or callbacks and will result in a failure during deployment.
    Platform: All
Workaround: Use doc/lit/wrapped for services that use XBeans as parameters or return types.
The workaround state to use doc/lit/wrapped for services. My questions is how to do that since workshop has all control over the generation of the webservices? ?:|

    Hi Martijn
If you do generate web service from the wsdl on a 9.2 project, it always uses jax-rpc types and there's no xmlbeans involved.
If the wsdl is in the schemas folder and the xmlbeans builder is on, then you also have xmlbeans types created by the builder they aren't being used by the web service. You will still have problems, because some of the xmlbeans types may conflict with the jax-rpc types.

  • How to use the build file generated by Jdev to automate bpel deployment

Hi everyone I am trying to deploy bpel jar files and human task ear files using ant. When i use the ant which is generated by Jdev I am gettinng an error
    C:\Documents and Settings\254876\Desktop\BPEL_ANT>ant
    Buildfile: build.xml
    deployTaskForm:
    BUILD FAILED
C:\Documents and Settings\254876\Desktop\BPEL_ANT\build.xml:39: Could not create
task or type of type: deployTaskForm.
Ant could not find the task or a class this task relies upon.
This is common and has a number of causes; the usual
solutions are to read the manual pages then download and
install needed JAR files, or fix the build file:
    - You have misspelt 'deployTaskForm'.
    Fix: check your spelling.
    - The task needs an external JAR file to execute
and this is not found at the right place in the classpath.
Fix: check the documentation for dependencies.
    Fix: declare the task.
    - The task is an Ant optional task and the JAR file and/or libraries
implementing the functionality were not found at the time you
yourself built your installation of Ant from the Ant sources.
Fix: Look in the ANT_HOME/lib for the 'ant-' JAR corresponding to the
task and make sure it contains more than merely a META-INF/MANIFEST.MF.
If all it contains is the manifest, then rebuild Ant with the needed
libraries present in ${ant.home}/lib/optional/ , or alternatively,
    download a pre-built release version from apache.org
    - The build file was written for a later version of Ant
Fix: upgrade to at least the latest release version of Ant
    - The task is not an Ant core or optional task
and needs to be declared using <taskdef>.
    - You are attempting to use a task defined using
<presetdef> or <macrodef> but have spelt wrong or not
defined it at the point of use
Remember that for JAR files to be visible to Ant tasks implemented
in ANT_HOME/lib, the files must be in the same directory or on the
    classpath
Please neither file bug reports on this problem, nor email the
Ant mailing lists, until all of these causes have been explored,
as this is not an Ant bug.

  • Securing single point of entry doc-lit web services

I am designing doc-lit web services with a single point of entry, but the doc can contain requests of various types, with varying levels of authorization on the 'methods' being called by the web service as a result of the passed requests. I'm looking for a standards-compliant means of accomplishing this, or at least some method that will not be insanely difficult to move to a standards-based security implementation when they become available. I do not want to use SSL/TLS, but do want to stick to standards including WS-Security, XML-Encryption and XML-DSig. I would also like to use OID/SSO with certificate-based authentication.
What are my options as far as existing tools, techniques, etc for this in a Java/Oracle environment? Is there anything in Oracle BPEL that could help me in this quest?
Appreciate any advice, pointers, shared experiences, etc on this - I'm a little lost in the trees right now!
    Thanks Much,
    Jim Stoll

Eric - appreciate the tip. The link to the JDev files for the OBE article doesn't work though (ie, in the article, there is a link to download the source for the project) - is there an alternate way that I could get hold of that code? Even something as simple as someone emailing it to me would work - I desperately need to move forward on this stuff. (There's another sample at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/101/howtos/securews/index.html, but that one throws exceptions and I can't seem to get any help on it via the forum or Oracle Support, either...)
    Thanks for your assistance!

    Hi.
I'm having a problem when I generate a doc/lit webservice for a pl/sql procedure that returns a collection type containing complex types. During the generation of the service JDeveloper returns with a stack trace in which it complains about zero or more soap headers and it shows fault-code: OWS-00037.
For clarity, I did not specify any soap headers in the wizard and also did not a add any type mappings.
I will add the complete stack-trace later to this thread..

    Hi,
Glad that somebody else too got this problem. Well, as I had mentioned in my previous posting too, I think there are some procedures in the package, dbms_lob, like the writeappend, createtemporary etc.. which is not found in my dbms_lob.sql file, I am using 8.0.5, but I found these procedures in the 8i, I think it is becos of that.
By the way if anybody got this solution and got any workaround, please help me too.
I am still waiting for the solution to that.

    Hi John,
Yes this is certainly possible. The role of client, server and service
gets blurred when dealing with multiple web services. For an example,
you can take a look at the work done by WS-I for the sample application
[1], where multiple types of web services communicate with each other.

  • Images and js files within a deployed war file are generating 404 errors.

    Greetings,
I have an odd situation in that image files and js files that are part of a deployed war file are generating 404 (not found) errors when accessed via https but ARE found when accessed via http.
Unfortunately we are required to use https.
I have verified via jar -tf that the files are indeed part of the war file. So, it is not that they are missing as is evident when accessed via http. (they appear as expected)
A work around is to create the sub directories under the document root, on the ohs, and populate the sub directories with the images and js files that were used as part of the war file build. While this works, it doesn't explain why they would generate a 404 error when referenced from within the war via https.
The war file works correctly on our 10g installation.
I also have a very simple deployed war file and it too seems to have an issue finding direcotries/files that are part of the war file when referenced via https but not http.
We are using Oracle 11g OHS and using the WLS Admin Console to do the deploying. We also are using the OSSO for the performing the required authentication.
I have an SR in with oracle and have been working with them but I thought I would post here too.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

  • SwA with a doc/lit web service? 8.1sp3

For WL 8.1sp3, is it possible to do SwA using a doc/lit style web service? I'm not even sure if this makes sense, and it's not mentioned on any sites I've seen.
I'm trying to experiment how you can send binary data over XML with BEA WL 8.1sp3. It only supports SwA, which I believe can be used to send binary data at its raw size. However, I wanted to have a document-style web service.
The only examples for SwA use rpc style.

If you want to send binary data (i.e. an image, a PDF file, a Word document, etc.) as opposed to an XML document, then you in essence want an RPC-style web service that has an operation that takes an javax.activation.DataHandler. You can build this web service using either the <servicegen> Ant task, or the WLW IDE (a .JWS).
    Here's a link to the e-docs:
    http://e-docs.bea.com/workshop/docs81/doc/en/workshop/guide/getstarted/conUsingSOAPAttachments.html
The one thing wrong (or missing) with that information, is that it doesn't tell you that you have to set the soap-style needs to be set to rpc. The default is document, which won't produce the the correct client proxy jar. Actually, you won't be able to produce the client proxy jar unless you set soap-style to rpc :-)

  • Can Oracle BPEL handle Doc/Lit SOAP with Attachments?

I have successfully followed the instructions for using Oracle BPEL 10.1.3.4 to handle SOAP With Attachments with an RPC-style WSDL, detailed here:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28981/manipdoc.htm#sthref955
I have a simple Echo service that receives and attachment and responds with the same attachment.
I actually would like to accomplish the same thing using a Doc/Literal Wrapped WSDL. My initial testing shows that BPEL can indeed receive the attachment ( I can see it in the dehydration store), but it is not added to the response.
Is this possible using Doc/Lit with SwA in BPEL 10.1.3.4?

As I've investigated the issue some more, I've found that the real issue is receiving an attachment on the SOAP response from the BPEL process. Using a Doc/Lit-Wrapped WSDL, I can receive a request with an attachment, and add it to outgoing requests successfully. But when I do a straight copy from the request message to the response message (Echo Service), the response contains the correct "href" attribute but there is no attachment, and moreover, no MIME multipart message is returned.
NOTE: I was successful in using an RPC/Literal WSDL to accomplish the successful echo of the attachment.
Also, when looking in the OPMN logs, I see the following line for the RPC-based BPEL process, but not for the Doc/Lit:
    <2009-11-23 13:43:35,684> <DEBUG> <attachment.collaxa.cube.engine> <CXBinaryDataHandler::createDataSource> for binary location=uuid:aaa091d17e1b5545:67c00c53:1252285bf07:-7fc2
    <2009-11-23 13:43:35,716> <DEBUG> <attachment.collaxa.cube.engine.data> <ConnectionFactory::getConnection> GOT CONNECTION 1 Autocommit = false
    <2009-11-23 13:43:35,716> <DEBUG> <attachment.collaxa.cube.engine> <CXBinaryDataHandler::createDataSource> for binary location=uuid:aaa091d17e1b5545:67c00c53:1252285bf07:-7fc1
and the "binary location" value corresponds with the "href" attribute seen in the BPEL audit logs.

  • Difference between doc/lit bare and doc/lit wrapped

does anybody know the difference between them?
there are many resources about doc/lit bare, but there aren't that many about doc/lit wrapped.
is Doc/lit wrapped the one that wrapps the multiple argument into the Java object(setter and getter) and passes it to the web services?
It would be great if somebody explains clearly.
    Thanks.

you may find the following article useful:
    http://www.codeproject.com/cs/webservices/Web_Services.asp
And the JAXWS 2.0 specification is also probably useful.

  • XML Publisher Doc Viewer Region error in Jdev but not on server

I have created a OAF page using the XML Publisher Viewer region.
When I run the page in JDev, click the Run button to generate the report, I get the following error:

Running the same code on my dev server, everything runs fine and the report is correctly displayed.
Running the code on my UAT server gets the same error as in JDeveloper

  • Canceling a billing doc for which accounting doc not yet generated

    Hello,
I have strange issue in canceling billing doc. What happened user created Intercompany billing doc IV against a delivery and accounting doc also released to FI. After that he found that value in that IV doc is not correct so he went and cancelled that doc IV and he created internal credit memo IG .But for this IG the accounting doc not generated due to FI period closing. Because the IV is created in the month of Oct and IG is created in the month of Nov'07.Due to this issue Accounting document not generated for this IG doc.
But unfortunately by mistake he went cancelled the IG doc and it created IV again. Now what happened both IG and new IV created are showing in cancelled status. This is because if we cancel a billing doc for which accounting doc not created, then both doc will turning into cancelled status in doc flow. This is confirmed similar situation in my quality box and confirmed.
Now can anybody come across this kind of issue and tell me what is the best approach to handle this kind of situation.
    Thanks
    Mathi

    Hi Nina
As you are doing Delivery and then billing  with the service item category ZTAD , so go to VOV7 and check wheather the Billing Relevance ( Delivery related billing ) has been maintained or not .
Also check wheather in VTLA & VTFL copy controls  ,  ZTAD item category has been maintained or not
    Regards
