Deploying Reader 9.2 fails asking me to install IE6 on Win7?

I'm trying to deploy Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.2 by publishing it in our Active Directory.
I created an administrative install by the AdbeRdr920_de_DE.exe with the "-nos_ne" command line switch.
I then copied the contents of the unpacked installer to out network share, and added the AcroRead.msi into the Active Directory.
On the client PC running a freshly installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, I choose to add software, and try to add Adobe Acrobat 9.2
After a few seconds the installer tells me, that Adobe Reader 9.2 requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher.
The same also happens on out Windows XP clients.
Since Windows 7 and XP already come shipped with preinstalled Internet Explorers, that are at least 6.0 or greater, I don't know what to do here.
Installing the Reader from the Nosso Installer manually works, but since administrator privileges are needed and I have to manually install these on all our PCs, I'd rather have the MSI work correctly via our Active Directory.
What can I do to correctly deploy Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.2 with Active Directory?

First, this is the Acrobat forum, not the Reader forum. You might find better info on the Reader forum. It looks like you never uninstalled AR9. Go back and be sure AR9 is uninstalled and its folder totally removed. You might want to just uninstall AR XI also and then reinstall later. For Acrobat there is a clean up tool after it has been uninstalled (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html) that may be useful -- I don't know. There may be a similar tool for the Reader.

  • Deploy node.js project failed with msnodesql driver install error

I want to deploy a node.js project on Azure Website
I use mssql with the "tedious" driver to access my database
But I got deployment error with "msnosesql" (another driver for mssql)
    install.js: Unable to download msnodesql-0.2.1-v0.10-ia32.msi
I found some solution, change the path to fix this download error
but after that I got another error
remote: install.js: Error: Command failed: Access is denied.
I seems that I don't have the permission to install this driver ?
Is there any way to solve this problem?

you cannot install new msi packages in Azure Websites due to multi tenant nature.
As alternative you can use following MS SQL driver for Node.JS

  • GPO Deploy Reader 9.3 and remove earlier version fails

    Hi
I am deploying Reader 9.3 with a mst from the Customization Wizard using a GPO. Basically this works perfect with the following exception:
    - I can not select to remove older versions in the Customization Wizard, its grayed out
How do I manage to correctly remove the older version?
The 8.x was installed by a GPO as well. Of course I can set to remove the 8.x version and - if possible - on the same boot install the new 9.3 version. Does that work? What's the 'Best practice' to update all clients from 8 to 9?
    Thanks
    Franz

    Hi
I am trying to deploy 9.3 with GPO as well, I also cannot control the checkboxs' to uninstall older versions of acrobat and reader but I have found that it will uninstall the apps without these set.  By default remove older version of acrobat is checked and reader is not, but i have still found it to remove both...

I also just encountered this error while trying to deploy my feature from Visual Studio 2010. I found the solution for my situation. Perhaps it may help others as well.
To see if your problem has the same cause as I encountered, open up the 14 hive and go to 14/template/features/<your-project-name_your-feature-name>. In this folder you will find a file Feature.xml. Open it up with notepad. On the second line
you will find the XML node Feature. Scroll to the right untill you see the XML attribute ReceiverClass. This
should show you a namespace, i.e. KoenZomers.MyProject.Branding.Features.Web.BrandingEventReceiver. In my situation it didn't show a namespace, but instead the following: $SharePoint.Type.<some-guid>.FullName$. If this is the same for
you, read on as this might be the solution to your problem. If it does already show a namespace, this probably won't help you.
This problem is caused because of a bug in Visual Studio 2010. It should replace the guid to match the guid found above the class declaration of your event receiver. For example:
    [Guid("ff9717e0-05c4-4e7e-9349-3f31d3919b9c")]
    public
    class
    BrandingEventReceiver
    : SPFeatureReceiver
Probably because I recreated the event receiver class, it did generate a new Guid tag with a new Guid above my class declaration, but it did not update the feature file to reference this new guid. To do this manually, open up the folder on your development
machine where your Visual Studio project files reside. In it you will find a subfolder named Features. Open it. In that folder you fill find subfolders with the names of your features as given in Visual Studio. Open up the one containing the non functional
event receiver. In that folder you will find a file called <feature-name>.feature. Right click on it and choose Open with. Select to open it with notepad. On the second line you will find the XML node feature. Scroll to the right until you see the XML
attribute receiverClass in the same line. Make sure the value of this XML node is built up using the following syntax: $SharePoint.Type.<guid-from-event-receiver-class-declaration>.FullName$. So in the above example it would be $SharePoint.Type.ff9717e0-05c4-4e7e-9349-3f31d3919b9c.FullName$.
Save the file, close notepad. Close the solution in Visual Studio. Once closed, reopen the solution. Do a deploy of your solution. It should work this time. If you check the feature.xml file in the 14 hive now, it does display a namespace. This
    made it work for me.

3- I have installed SQL 2005 and created databases for all Hyperion components i.e. Shared services, calculation manager, epma on a system A

Did you install all the WebLogic web applications on the foundation machine as well as the machine they are going to be deployed to.
"On the machine on which you plan to administer the WebLogic Server, you must install all Web applications for all applications you plan to deploy on any machine in the environment. (The WebLogic Administration Server is installed and deployed on the Foundation Services machine.)"

    Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server v2.1.1
This error occurs when ==> http://localhost:4848/ | Glassfish 2.1.1 mgt console | Web Applications | Deploy | Web Application, AutoVueWS.war
    Background:
I am a Adobe Flex coder tossed into a Silverlight project trying to get a JavaBean to work.
My task is to get a DGN file to display in my Silverlight app. I've attempted to solve this by using AutoVue as a web service returning an image and displaying that image on my control. This, of course is working great on the last developers machine. However, I have been totally unsuccessful in installing it on the clients server. I have no real idea what I'm doing with the Java/GlassFish/AutoVue section of this project. Any help would be greatly appreciated
--I've have Glassfish v2.1.1 installed and seems to be working correctly.

    Thanks in advance!

Thank you so much for the reply. I will re-post this on the GlassFish Thread.
    >>Are you trying to deploy the actual AutoVue Web Services, or are you trying to deploy the AutoVue "JVue" or "VueBean" object within a Web Service?
You know, I don't know. My only goal is to take this DGN file and turn it into something I can view in Silverlight.
The current path, I think, is:
IIS => Grab the DGN. Pass the DGN to Glassfish\AutoVue bean, I think that passes it on to the jVue Server. Which passes back a PNG.
All I want is an image of the dgn. I suspect "I'm doing it wrong".
As I've been handed a couple of directories:
    C:\oracle\AutoVueWS\
C:\oracle\AutoVueWS\autovue_webservices   <= this contains the WAR file I've been trying to install on glassfish
    C:\oracle\AutoVueIntegrationSDK
    and
    C:\Program Files\jVue
    from which I run "C:\Program Files\jVue\bin\jvueserver.bat"
This, of course, is working on my development machine. But I am unable to duplicate on a test Virtual Machine.
Can I just talk to the jVueServer directly? Is there a simpler approach given the tools they have?

  • Sharepoint 2010 - Visual studio 2010 error - Error occurred in deployment step 'Add Solution': Failed to load receiver assembly

    Hello,
I get the following error when trying to attach an event reciver ->
Error occurred in deployment step 'Add Solution': Failed to load receiver assembly . The system cannot find the file specified.
This happens only when i try to change the deployment target from "GlobalAssemblyCache" to "WebApplication".
    Steps to reproduce->
    1. Create a new feature and add an event receiver. Deploy the solution. Everything works fine.(Since deployment target is GlobalAssemblyCache). If you now change the deployment target to "WebApplication" , it works too.
    2. Now, restart visual studio. Change Deployment target to  "WebApplication" without deploying the solution. And you get the above error.
    3. Every time you restart your visual studio with deployment target as "WebApplication", you will receive this error.
Any idea?? Manual deployment of the solution works fine too.
When i go to virutal path bin directory, the dll is missing because of which the error occurs. Dont know why, it doesnt copy the dll to bin?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
Feature receivers must be deployed in the GAC & cannot be deployed to private bin of the WebApplication.

The MSI installers are usually used in corporate environments to roll out installs on multiple machines.  However, you can use it like a normal (EXE) installer; it will just go through fewer steps than the EXE.  Not sure if it will improve the situation, but it's worth a try.
Another thing to try is to uninstall these remaining entries using Microsoft Fixit: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall - also no guarantee, but also worth trying.
