Deploying XML based apps

How can one deploy xml parsing programs since it requires downloading the JAXP package to run the program
for example, making an applet parse xml, will i require bundling the whole JAXP packge with the applet?
A little assistance

you can use
http://java.sun.com/xml/downloads/javaxmlpack.html
If you can please let me know what it is.

  • Using powershell to deploy provider-hosted app and specify remote Url instead of using appinv.aspx page

    Hello all,
    Could you possibly help me with provider-hosted app development/deployment process.
    We developed SharePoint provider-hosted app that works just fine in development environment. Now we need to automate it's installation in test environment via powershell.
    In AppManifest.xml that we are deploying we have key instead of explicit URL:
    <App xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/2012/app/manifest" Name="ShowAllRoomsApp" ProductID="{922a18aa-5592-b59a-4da9-4791baef02e7}" Version="1.0.0.0"
    SharePointMinVersion="15.0.0.0">
      <Properties>
        <Title>SomeTitle</Title>
        <StartPage>~remoteAppUrl/Pages/Default.aspx?{StandardTokens}</StartPage>
    If we use as
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj655398.aspx recommends, we cannot specify Redirect Url as we can do this on
    /_layouts/appinv.aspx
    So now it seems like the only way to deploy this kind of solution is using appinv.aspx page.Or must we apply this URL in AppManifest on developing stage in Visual Studio?
    What did I miss?
    P. S. Even if I use /_layouts/appinv.aspx after powershell commandlets, I get error.

    hi,
    to deploy provider hosted app you need 2 things
    1. Client ID
    2. Redirect URL.
    What you can do you can generate app from visual studio using clientID and URL from developer enviornment.
    Now a app file is just a simple compressed zip file if you rename it as .zip and extract you will find AppManifest
    inside it. So to create an app for Testing enviornment what you have to to Get the CLient ID (from AppRegNew.aspx) in testing enviornment. Unzip .App file change the AppManifest with testing client ID and URL than again zip file and rename as .app.
    Now if you upload this file it will work.
    To automate this scenerio i have created a simple windows Application in which i Pass the Client ID and StartURl and an App File it unzips the app file make changes to app and again zip it.
    public static class AppPackageHelper
    public const string StartUrlExpression = "{0}?{1}";
    public const string StandardToken = "{StandardTokens}";
    public static string Publish(string appPath, string ClientId,string StartUrl)
    string tempDir = string.Empty;
    string outPutFile = string.Empty;
    try
    string parentDir = System.IO.Path.GetDirectoryName(appPath);
    outPutFile = System.IO.Path.Combine(parentDir, ClientId + "-Winshuttle.app");
    tempDir = System.IO.Path.Combine(parentDir, ClientId.ToString());
    Directory.CreateDirectory(tempDir);
    int lastInd = appPath.LastIndexOf('.');
    string tempPath = string.Empty;
    string targetFilePath = string.Empty;
    string cabPath = System.IO.Path.Combine(tempDir, System.IO.Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(appPath) + ".cab");
    FileInfo fInfo = new FileInfo(appPath) { IsReadOnly = false };
    File.Copy(appPath, cabPath);
    XDocument doc = null;
    string appManifest = string.Empty;
    using (ZipArchive zipArch = ZipFile.Open(cabPath, ZipArchiveMode.Update))
    appManifest = string.Format(@"{0}\AppManifest.xml", Directory.GetParent(cabPath).FullName);
    ZipArchiveEntry manifestEntry = zipArch.Entries.LastOrDefault(e => e.Name.ToLower() == "appmanifest.xml");
    manifestEntry.ExtractToFile(appManifest);
    doc = XDocument.Load(appManifest);
    XNamespace ns = doc.Root.GetDefaultNamespace();
    string defaultUrl = string.Format(StartUrlExpression, StartUrl.TrimEnd('/'), StandardToken);
    doc.Descendants(XName.Get("StartPage", ns.NamespaceName)).First().Value = defaultUrl;
    doc.Descendants(XName.Get("RemoteWebApplication", ns.NamespaceName)).First().Attribute(XName.Get("ClientId")).Value = setupInfo.ClientId.ToString();
    doc.Save(appManifest);
    if (manifestEntry != null)
    manifestEntry.Delete();
    zipArch.CreateEntryFromFile(appManifest, "AppManifest.xml");
    int totEnt = zipArch.Entries.Count;
    for (int e = 0; e < totEnt; e++)
    if (zipArch.Entries[e].Open().Length == 0)
    //if (zipArch.Entries.Count > totEnt && e >= totEnt) break;
    //zipArch.CreateEntry(zipArch.Entries[e].FullName);
    File.Delete(appManifest);
    if (File.Exists(outPutFile))
    File.Delete(outPutFile);
    File.Move(cabPath, outPutFile);
    return outPutFile;
    catch
    throw;
    finally
    if (System.IO.Directory.Exists(tempDir))
    System.IO.Directory.Delete(tempDir, true);
    return outPutFile;
    using System.IO.Compression.FileSystem.dll.
    Also if you want to do it using powershell You need to do the same thing unzip-> changes values-> zip
    So basic thing is You need to ahve only valid AppManifest file which contains 2 valid values Client Id and StartUrl
    if you changes it inside appmanifest manuall than it will also work. Using above code you can create a console Application to do it. You can use powershell it just that i dont know how to zip unzip in powershell but i am pretty sure you can easily find it
    on searching.

    Hi Harminder,
    This happens because an app has already been deployed and you are deploying it again using the same version.
    Resolution:
    Open the AppManifest.xml file and change the version.

    I have created a web application and have a jsp host.
    I have 2 questions:
    1-How do I deploy to the host. please explain. is this host a 3rd party? if so, ask them.
    if the host is tomcat running on a machine that you have control of, create a WAR file and put it in the /webapps directory.
    >
    2-I also want to add a tomcat realm and have been
    told to edit the server.xml file and web.xml file you should not edit the server.xml. just put a WAR file in the /webapps directory. no need to edit server.xml.
    web.xml is part of the standard web app deployment. your app should have one, and it needs to be in the WEB-INF directory.
    are these found on the host??
    please offer a confused guy some helpYou should read "My First Web App" on the Tomcat page.

    Is it have to do with the Deployment profile ? or any Data Control Issue ?

    Thanks Guys,
    You won't believe if I say the issue because of a minute error.
    for some reason the AMImpl.xml and its class files were getting created in different directory where as the DataControl was referencing the different directory, when I changed the proper directory for classes files to generate things started to work fine.
    As long as the creating the deployment profile, I think I did right. So all is fine at my end.. thanks for your links, it was really helpful though.
    Thanks
    Thyagy

    Hi Jerry,
    I agree with Nikhil, I think you have posted partial ULS log, we could not find effective errors for the issue.
    For Provider Hosted app in SharePoint server on-premise,
    the TokenHelper class will try to access your Azure Security Principle by default.

    Thanks Fei for your time.
    >>>I would suggest that you create a new project and set it start action with 'Internet Explorer'
    to see whether this issue could be reproduced.  If no, we can compare the difference between the two menifest files.
    As per your suggestion above ,With new project,I can debug with with start action "Internet Explorer" and I
    could not see much difference between the manifest files.

  • Query regarding App V Deployment - (Deploying DriverMSI in App - V)

    Hi All,
    This is my query regarding deployment of a driver MSI using App V. I have tried sequencing "NMap software" which has Kernel driver as service. I have separated the Kernel driver and wrapped in an MSI and tried deploying the Kernel Driver MSI using
    the DeploymentConfig.xml file but its not happening.
    I have tried writing script in DeploymentConfig.xml in AddPackage Tag as shown in the below commands where I have added driver MSI in sequenced package, and tried deploying the DeploymentConfig.xml in powershell during Add-Package event but the driver
    MSI is not getting installed in Client machine.
    <AddPackage>
            <Path>msiexec.exe</Path>
            <Arguments>/i Nmap_KernelDriver.msi /qb /l*v c:\windows\system32\LogFiles\Install_Nmap.log</Arguments>
            <Wait RollbackOnError="true" Timeout="30"/>
          </AddPackage>
          <RemovePackage>
            <Path>msiexec.exe</Path>
            <Arguments>/x {4BAB3E93-716E-4E18-90F0-1DA3876CBEB6} /qn</Arguments>
            <Wait RollbackOnError="false" Timeout="60"/>
          </RemovePackage>
        </MachineScripts>
    The other way I have tried is writing a vbscript for installing the driver MSI, added the vbs in sequenced package and called the same in DeploymentConfig.xml but no luck.Please find the command below.
    <!--
        <MachineScripts>
          <PublishPackage>
            <Path>wscript.exe</Path>
            <Arguments>[{AppVPackageRoot}]\..\Scripts\NMap_Driver_Install.vbs -guid 7c21d1e9-0fc4-4e56-b7bf-49e54d6e523f -name Insecure_Nmap_6.4_APPV</Arguments>
            <Wait RollbackOnError="true" Timeout="30"/>
          </PublishPackage>
          <UnpublishPackage>
            <Path>\\server\share\barfoo.exe</Path>
            <Arguments>-WithArgs</Arguments>
            <Wait RollbackOnError="false" Timeout="30"/>
          </UnpublishPackage>
    Please suggest any method to make this successful or kindly let me know if there is any mistake in the script.
    Thanks in advance,
    Vivek V

    Hi Nicke,
    These are the following methods and steps that I have performed for installing Driver MSi.
    Method 1:
    1. Included the driver MSI in Package Files Tab in sequencer and called the same MSI in DeploymentConfig.xml using the below script.
    <AddPackage>
            <Path>msiexec.exe</Path>
            <Arguments>/i Nmap_KernelDriver.msi /qb /l*v c:\windows\system32\LogFiles\Install_Nmap.log</Arguments>
            <Wait RollbackOnError="true" Timeout="30"/>
          </AddPackage>
          <RemovePackage>
            <Path>msiexec.exe</Path>
            <Arguments>/x {4BAB3E93-716E-4E18-90F0-1DA3876CBEB6} /qn</Arguments>
            <Wait RollbackOnError="false" Timeout="60"/>
          </RemovePackage>
        </MachineScripts>
    2. After the above steps, deployed the AppV package along with DeploymentConfig.xml in App V Client using the commands mentioned below.
    Set-ExecutionPolicy -Unrestricted
    Import-module Appvclient
    Set-AppVClientConfiguration -EnablePackageScripts 1
    Add-AppvClientPackage -Path "Path of the AppV file" -DynamicDeploymentConfig "Path of DeploymentConfig.xml"
    after trying the above steps the driver MSI is not getting installed.
    Method 2:
    1. Included the driver MSI and a VBS file(VBS contains script for calling the driverMSI)in Package Files tab in sequencer. Commandlines has been provided calling the vbs file in DeploymetConfig.xml as mentioned below.
    <!--
        <MachineScripts>
          <PublishPackage>
            <Path>wscript.exe</Path>
            <Arguments>[{AppVPackageRoot}]\..\Scripts\NMap_Driver_Install.vbs -guid 7c21d1e9-0fc4-4e56-b7bf-49e54d6e523f -name Insecure_Nmap_6.4_APPV</Arguments>
            <Wait RollbackOnError="true" Timeout="30"/>
          </PublishPackage>
          <UnpublishPackage>
            <Path>\\server\share\barfoo.exe</Path>
            <Arguments>-WithArgs</Arguments>
            <Wait RollbackOnError="false" Timeout="30"/>
          </UnpublishPackage>
    2. after executing the above steps, tried deploying the AppV file along with DeploymentConfig.xml using the commands mentioned below,
    Set-ExecutionPolicy -Unrestricted
    Import-module Appvclient
    Set-AppVClientConfiguration -EnablePackageScripts 1
    Add-AppvClientPackage -Path "Path of the AppV file" -DynamicDeploymentConfig "Path of DeploymentConfig.xml"
    evenafter trying the above methods the driver MSI is not getting installed. Hope you can understand my explanations above.
    Regards,
    Vivek V

    Looks like you have a proxy configured, and that proxy (of course) doesn't support routing to 127.0.0.1

  • Connection SQLite with Flex Web Based App??

    Hi! I have a problem, I create a Flex Web Based App in Flash Builder 4 and I need connect that app with my SQLite database... but I can't found the method that permit me create that connection.
    My question is... exist some method or some kind of code with I can do the connection?
    Can someone help me, please?

    SQLLite is only available in AIR apps.
    The preferred method for a web-app is to use some kind service architecture to expose your data. I wouldn't be able to offer any specific advise without knowing more about your deployment environment.

  • ZMM App deploy Updated VPP apps?

    Not sure if this is possible or not.
    If I setup an iPad/iPhone with Apple configurator and have VPP based apps on the device, yet I want to use ZMM to deploy out updated apps. Will ZMM still require the VPP codes that are already installed or is there a way to make this work. It would be nice to deploy out app updates to the devices without having them go back to a sync workstation.
    Also is there any furture ability to be able to remotely control and assist someone on an ipad/iphone or even android? I ask Apple about this and was told that this is something a vendor would need to consider. If I can do this with ZCM and a laptop/desktop, why not and tablet?
    Thanks

  • RPC and XML based ?

    Hi
    We are in mid of confusion :-) between confusion between JAX RPC and XML based
    web services. Now as i understand there are 2 ways of doing web service
    1) JAX RPC
    2) JAXM
    My questiuon when do we use each of them and which would be deciding factor ?
    Also say i make a service using java and servicegen. Deploy on weblogic 7.0. I
    have my WSDL in place. Now can any client ( C or .NET) access my webservice as
    far as they are able to grab my WSDL ?
    DO we have tools like WSDL2JAVA for other languages. WSDL2C or WSDL2NET etc.
    I am be too offf but am confused and need something to go ahead with weblogic
    and java based sewrvice.
    Thanks

    To keep it simple, JAX-RPC provides an API for building web services and web service
    clients that use RPC and XML. While JAXM is an API for XML-based messaging, where
    using a messaging provider you can send/receive SOAP messages.
    JAXM is used when you are doing a messaging (a la JMS or JavaMail) with SOAP messages.
    I would suggest to refer to the following links for good starter course on web
    services :
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/1.1/tutorial/doc/
    http://dev2dev.bea.com/technologies/webservices/tutorials.jsp
    In BEA WebLogic we provide "wsdl2service", which is an Ant task that takes as
    input an existing WSDL file, and generates the following WebLogic Web service
    components:
    - the web-services.xml deployment descriptor file
    - a Java source file that partially implements the Web service.
    Now we probably we could have utilities provided by other vendors to generate
    service components in a certain implementation from a WSDL.

    Also say i make a service using java and servicegen. Deploy on weblogic
    7.0. I
    have my WSDL in place. Now can any client ( C or .NET) access my webservice
    as
    far as they are able to grab my WSDL ?
    DO we have tools like WSDL2JAVA for other languages. WSDL2C or WSDL2NET
    etc.
    I am be too offf but am confused and need something to go ahead with
    weblogic
    and java based sewrvice.
    Thanks

  • Deploy version-based with proxy

    Hello everyone,
    I try to use version-based/patching concept to deploy my application to client (approximately +3000 machines) . Now I can deploy jar file to clients by enable JnlpDownloadServlet at Tomcat server that help client to be able to use incremental update(around 12 MByte). But only incremental still consume much bandwitdh when I have many client in one branch so I desire to setup Squid proxy server in each branch to cache that incremental update. I found that my proxy didn't work well, it doesn't cache the incremental update file. When I observe in Java cache directory on client machine I see some file downloaded from web server for patch my application to a new version, it has some random number in filename eg. java-XMEpsonPOS_1.0.0.jar.24352tmp, the 24352 will change to other number in other client machine.
    Does my proxy cannot cache patch file because that random number in filename? I also found some resource in http://weblogs.java.net/blog/2005/06/29/javaone-desktop-report-big-web-started-deployment-big-banking-app that similar to my case but this website didn't describe much detail about proxy so I know only they use "Download proxy servers (a single Java process)". If someone know about which proxy work with version-based/patching concept,plese guide me.
    Best Regards,
