Deployment Error in OC4J Preview
Help. We are having problems deploying our application to OC4J developer preview. We have successfully deployed numerous times before now, but the error we our seeing makes no sense. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I have copied of the stack trace from the oc4j server. I get this message during a manual deployment of our EJBs.

I found the problem. This error is generated when attributes are defined in the orion-ejb-jar.xml that do not exist in the bean.

Error when deploying EAR in OC4J 10.1.3.0.0 with a deployment plan
Hello!
I try to deploy an ear file specifying a deployment plan generated from web interface using command line utilities. I try to use both admin_client.jar and oracle ant task and still get the same error. When i remove deployment plan argument, the application is successfully deployed.... Any Idea?

Olivier MARTINIf you're using OC4J standalone, use the latest available OC4J, 10.1.3.3.
If you're using a manage OC4J, ie. Application Server, upgrade to the latest available version and upgrade your JDK. The provided JDK might be outdated.

Must I replace the admin.jar file with a more newer version of it? How do I determine the version of the admin.jar and if I update it to a newer version will it still be compatible with the rest of the settings?

Deployment problem in OC4J 9.0.4
We try to deploy our application to OC4J 9.0.4 and have following problem with deployment:
Error instantiating application 'elpos' at file:/C:/oc4j9.0.4/j2ee/home/applications/elpos-app.ear: UserManager class 'com.abilitydev.usermanager.orion.ServiceBasedUserManager' not found
The application deploys and runs correctly on 9.0.3 release. The user manager class is inside EJB module jar file.

Custom User Managers Deployed within EJB-JAR Files can not be found.
OC4J is not able to load customer user managers when they are packaged within an EJB-JAR file.
The workaround is to add an explicit <library> element to the orion-application.xml file for the application which points at the EJB-JAR file containing the custom user manager classes. This will allow the custom user manager to be resolved and instantiated.

I have set the ORACLE_HOME that points to SOA install directory i.e.
C:\Documents and Settings>echo %ORACLE_HOME%
C:\Oracle_Software\1013\soa
One more thing is that if I install the Developer Version and even though the ORACLE_HOME is not set this works fine i.e. DocumentReview it's only that in the Midtier install version it doesn't work.
The BPELProcess gets deployed and even the task is assigned but when logging into worklist and selecting the task I see the following error:
Not Found
The requested URL /default/DocumentReview/1.0/DocumentReview/DocumentReview.jsp was not found on this server.

It's because at deployment time I get that security error and parent application not found and it never deploys the jsp's. Now in the logs I don't see anything. It's only in JDeveloper I see those errors at deployment time. Here is the domain.log:

Now even though the log says process deployed successfully it only deploys the BPEL Process but no jsp forms deployed. I hope there's nothing special we have to do. This issue can be recreated by installing the Midtier version of SOA and configure it with OID and then try deploying DocumentReview Process provided in the demos.
I hope I have provided all the information.

Problem in deploying EJBs in oc4j
Hi folks,
I am new to ejbs and now I am into support role for ejb2.0 project devoloped long ago. one of the module in that proj has ejb2.0 (Using CMP entity beans & Session beans(stateless))
The problem I am facing currently is , while running the the ejb module (by running a jsp page in that module) I am getting the following error.
In this log I found two things primarily
1) All ejbs are not deployed successfully (due to IntialContext lookup failure)
2) java.lang.NoSuchMethodError while calling the static method of a bean in the jsp
I have cross checked about the second one I didn't find any issue..is there any issue about jar(?) versions and I have run another jsp having no call to that static method then it is worked fine and the jsp view came(but still the first problem is there)
please help me...

On metalink I've found out that more people have had this problem. I've read about bug 2507365 and a patch in 9.0.3 but I couldn't find a real solution for the problem.
Does this error has something to do with a confuguration of a previous installation of another user?
Is there an easy way to work around this problem? Can I change something in the access rights and deploy the wireless administration tools in the OC4J_Portal instance manually? Would safe me a lot of time.

The following schema is configured:

So the instances in the OC4J_Portal were not deployed during installation. After trying to manually deploy
the webtool.ear and associate the usermanager with JAZN LDAP User Manager (ldap://<hostname>:4032). I get the
following error:

are inconsistent with the configuration stored in the repository. In order to protect the repository, no
further configuration or deployment operations are allowed until the problem with the configuration on the

Do you have any suggestions of things I could try? Do I have to check out the settings of the OC4J_portal instance? I've also checked the Access Rights for cn=IAS Infrastructure Databases, cn=IAS, cn=Products, cn=OracleContext user the Oracle Directory Manager.

Problem in deploying to standalone oc4j 11TP4
I developed standard web app in Jdeveloper 11g which contains web module and one ejb jar. App runs successfully on embedded oc4j in Jdev. Then I made EAR which packed this project and deployed it to standalone oc4j11 TP4. Deployment passed successfully, but when I tried to open my page I get following error:
JspServlet error: Servlet unable to dispatch to the following requsted page: The following exception occurred:java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\JAVA\jdevstudio1111\j2ee\home\default-web-app\App1-web\faces\login.jspx (The system cannot find the path specified)
Now, I know this is a typical error when the location is wrong or we request non existing page. But this confused me a bit:
\default-web-app\App1-web\
I checked on file system and, of course, my app is not in default-web-app directory, but in applications diretctory. As I said, deployment went OK. Why is OC4J looking my app in default-web-app?
Application was deployed using command line:
java -jar C:\JAVA\jdevstudio1111\j2ee\home\admin_client.jar deployer:oc4j:makor:23791 fmwadmin adminadmin -deploy -file c:\TEMP\App1.ear -deploymentName App1
I have noticed one more thing. After deployment I get following error oc oc4j console:
SEVERE: XMLApplicationServerConfig.store application configuration parsing is failed. please correct the problem and restart oc4j.
The same thing happens when I deploy another test web application which contains only web module.
So, what is this supposed to mean? I haven't done anything with config files, I just used out of the box config from Jdev. Where should I look?Can you try and see if the following parameters for the command line help:

Deployment Error with jdk 5 and oc4j_extended_101320.zip

I get the following error when I try to deploy my application using jdk 5 and oc4j (oc4j_extended_101320.zip) . I am sure no references of jdk1.4 are being used anywhere. I also tried deleting the persistence directory to make sure there are no lock files anywhere , but in vain. I am stuck with this problem and I urgently need a solution to get past this. Any help in this regard is appreciated. Thanks. Here is the stack trace.

Deployment error in 9.0.3 for app with local interface
While attempting to port an EJB-application from jboss to oracle, I have encountered a deployment error in 9.0.3 9iASR2 which I cannot decipher. The same ear-file is successfully deployed on the 9.0.3. OC4J standalone version (both on a machine running winXP)
I get a "syntax error in source" when I attempt the deployment and all my local-interface class-files end up on the j2ee_home root, i.e. <oracle-home>/j2ee/home/.
Am I too early using local interface on version 9.0.3, is my packaging messed up or should I look for my bugs in some missed logfile?
BTW: where do I find deployment stack traces for this version of 9iAS?

It can be related to a version incompatibility between your JDev 10.1.2 and the version of OC4J you are deploying to.
For instance, Oracle does not support to deploy JDev 10.1.2 ADF application in Application Server 10.1.3. If this is what you are trying to do, you would have to migrate your application to JDeveloper 10.1.3 and then deploy it to AS 10.1.3.
My suggestion for you would be to create the web service in JDeveloper - 10.1.2
to deploy to that particular platform (OC4J 10.1.2).
I also believe there is an internal bug on a problem close to yours :
"checkIsLocalHost() error message during deployment to OC4J"
which does not seem to reproduce against JDev 10.1.3.0.4.
JDev 10.1.3.0.4 should be worth trying in such case.

I have downloaded Hotel Reservation System using EJB sample and trying deploy OneEJBHotel-Web.deploy to the Application Server connection. Connection looks fine. I get the following error in deployment:

Appreciate your help.Apparently I found that the new release of JDeveloper 9.0.3.1 did at least try to deploy the EJB in this sample. The previous version kept failing to deploy. Now, I am getting other deployment error. Seems like the deployment doesn't recognise my site. The standalone OC4J has been running successfully on port 8888, the standalone connection in JDeveloper is fine also. I can even hit on 8888 port from other machines. But deployment gives the following messages. Am I missing anything here? Appreciate all the help.
