Deployment OBIEE10g on UNIX HP-UX

Hi Guys,
I have the following case, and i want your help.
I have developed OBI repository on Windows 32-bit, and i upload the repository on UNIX server HP-UX 64-bit,
when i tried to access BI Answer, and try to retrieve a simple report, i meet the following error:
Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 16023] The ODBC function has returned an error. The database may not be available, or the network may be down. (HY000)
SQL Issued: SELECT Companies.Branch_Code saw_0 FROM PAYROLL ORDER BY saw_0
Note that, i am using OCI connection, and ODBC connection, but the same error appears.

Check whether you are able to ping the database server. If the database server is up and running, check whether you are using the right db version settings in the connection pool

    Hi masters.
Small info. requried..I worked on oracle with windows env. But I don't know unix exp. My question is
I want to connect to the sqlplus in unix server ? Please let me know...!!
    Thanks in adv.
    regards
SAthe answers you've received so far are all over the board. That's a result of the fact that your question is pretty vague. Is your problem that you are unsure of how to get a unix command prompt and launch sqlplus? Or are you having a specific problem related to actually connecting to a database? What have you done so far? What error messages (if any) are you seeing?

  • Deployment unsuccessful via UNIX box but Successful from windows

    Hi,
I am able to deploy my ADF application on remote server by my ANT SCRIPT.
But when I am trying to deploy my application through UNIX box, Its successfully making EAR File but that EAR file is smaller(in term of size) , which I am getting from Windows deployment from similar script. It not adding bc4j.xcfg file of AM and adfm.xml file also in EAR. If I am deploying this same EAR file from script on unix then its successfully deploying and when I am going to my application its showing blank page insist of contains.
I am using same script for deployment on unix box also which I am using on Windows.
Can anyone suggest me where I am lacking or something which I need to take care on Unix.
    Thanks in Advance
    Ramit Mathur

Looks like your ant script is buggy...
If your ant script does not produce the same EAR (I only mean the content, not the size) there must be something wrong either with your installation on the UNIX box or your ant script.
If you know which files are missing thats the point to look at. As you wrote the script it should not be difficult to find the part of hte script which should copy the missing files into the resulting EAR file. May be you have a wrong path (windows like drive letters or '\' instead of '/') in your script.

  • Applet deployment in Linux / Unix

    Hello all,
I have recently begun to use the javascript Deployment Toolkit to deploy applets due to some problems Linux users reported at my site. As I have no knownledge of Linux / Unix at all, I would be grateful if some Linux users tell me if the applet at this site is displayed properly:
    http://www.mathator.com/calculator/
And if not, any suggestion would be greatly apreciated.
    Thanks a lot.

install the Windows XP service pack.
Initially WinXP was shipped without the JVM

  • OWB Deployment problem on UNIX

    Hi all
We are facing problem while deploying object of a mapping on UNIX.
Validation and Generation of the mapping is working fine, but while deploying, it just shows the progress bar with 0% and stops. Its not generating any error message also.
The mapping was developed on the windows environment and imported to UNIX environment. After imported it was successfully validated. The DB link was also tested successfully.
If we deploy the same mapping on windows its working fine.
Please let us know what could be wrong, since the mapping needs to go live on Monday.

Please immediately go to your backup plan.
I have been in situations like this, and you need to move to plan B at once.

    Donna

  • Java App Deploy Axis in Unix/Linux OS to call an external WService

    Hi!
I would really appreciate some help in this matter.
I'm developing an application in Java to call a remote .Net Web Service from probably Unix/Linux/Windows 2000/2003 Operating System.
My question for you is, what requirements do I need to install before I'm able to call a remote web service from Unix/Linux?
I would like to keep things as simple as possible. The less software I install the better.
I'm also considering in using c++ instead of Java if the solution is more simpler.
    Thanks

I reply to myself, if there's someone interested....
So far, I' ve found 3 ways to approach this issue:
    1) OpenSSH:
Install an OpenSSH server on WIN side.
On LINUX side, write a script that opens an OpenSSH transaction and then call the executable; this script is what I call from Runtime.getRuntime().exec()This way, the executable is executed on WIN.
    2) Wine (Windows emulator for LINUX)
    Install WINE on LINUX side.
Make the executable reachable from LINUX to WIN side (copy/paste or mount the folder) and call Runtime.getRuntime.exec("wine MYEXE.EXE").
This way, the executable is executed on LINUX (you need to make all DLLs reachable)
    3) RMI
Write a RMI server as "exe invoker" and deploy it on WIN side.
Then, replace the portion of code that calls the executable with an RMI client that invoke the RMI server.
This way, the executable is executed on WIN.
Finally, I chose this third way.

  • Deploying Jdeveloper 10g project on unix

We are trying to deploy a Servlet based application on Unix. the project follows the mvc architecture and uses Property files. The project has been thoroughly tested in the windows environment. However on deploying to a unix environment. Resource Bundler not found error is thrown and the project fails to start up. What could be wrong ?

Resource Bundler not found error is thrown and the project fails to start up.What is the complete error message? Is it "Resource Bundler" or "Resouce Bundle"? What do you mean by "project fails to start up"? You may want to post your question to JDeveloper and ADF.

  • WebLogic deployment on Unix or NT

    Hi,
Does anybody have an idea of what is present percentage of
Weblogic deployments on Unix and on NT. Curious to know what is
most preferred platform for weblogic deployment. I appreciate
    your early response.
    thanks,
    Suresh.

I don't have the exact numbers but the most popular development platform
is Windows, the most popular deployment platform is Unix.

I'm having an issue where with an exploded directory web application
    deployment
on a UNIX server. It doesn't seem that weblogic is finding the JSP.
    I'm getting
    Error 404.
    - porting from wls 5.1 to wls 6.1
    - got it ported on Windows 2000
    - iPlanet as the web server
    - wls 6.1 as the application server
    - all JSPs under
    /data/current/weblogic_files/applications/prodssl
    - for the WebApplication, I have the following settings:
    - Name = webap_prodssl
    - URI = prodssl
    - Path = /data/current/weblogic_files/applications
    - in the prod_access.log, I do see that weblogic gets the request
Any ideas? I have not made any security changes. Basically, I installed
    wls
6.1, created the servers, created the Web Apps and targeted the Web Apps.
    Thanks for any help. Later...

  • Reading a file which is on different unix box

    Hi,
Our project has a requirement to send a file as an attachment in the email to a user. Our application is deployed as an ear in a WAS server (which is a unix box). The interface that actually sends the email is deployed on another unix box. Our application creates a file and saves it on the application unix box. now the email sending interface needs to access this file which is deployed on the application unix box and send it as an attachment.
Can the email sending interface access the file on the application unix box if i send it the path; is it possible since the interface and the attachment file are deployed on diff unix boxes?
Now one can access the application using the url of the form -
http://<box name>:<port>/<context root>/<servelet path>Now suppose while creating the file, i give the input path as
http://<box name>:<port>/<file name>,where will the file be created and if i send this path to the email interface, will it be able to access this file?
Any inputs will be highly appreciated.

You would be better off using an nfs partition. All flavors of unix come with NFS capabilities, so simply let your application "box" share a directory where it writes the files, and let the email "box" mount the directory in order to read the files.

  • How to deploy ADF applications in Oracle apps

    Hi,
I just gone thru demos on ADF rich client applications using jdeveloper 11g.My doubt is how to deploy and use these from oracle apps.Is ADF supported in R12.If yes then could anybody provide me steps to deploy code at unix file system and how to create form functions for accessing jspx pages?
I know that in OAF, we can deploy server components at $OA_java and PG.xml files using xml importer and we can create form functions for PG.xml files.Similarly what are the steps to deploy and access ADF applications thru oracle apps.
    Thanks,
    ashok

ADF Rich Client Components need a newer server than the one that comes with Apps R12.
So what you'll need to do is have a separate WebLogic 10.3 server where you deploy the ADF Rich Client Applications.
You can call them from your Apps by customizing your current apps and adding a button or link that just calls the URL where your ADF apps are.

You can download JCO from service.sap.com/connectors.

  • Having issues hot deploying with ebcc in Solaris environment.

I keep getting an error message when hot deploying a new webapp portal using ebcc.
The error message reads" Unable to add module. appname to application descriptor for portal app. I check the portalapptools and i see the webapp in the portal management.. I also see that it added this to the database under the Portal table.. It never actually added the webapplication under in the console.. This is where it gets stuck... Basicly the steps that are missing are adding a deployment descriptor and then the webapp.. I manually did it and it works.. the problem after that is that i need to execute sync.sh after i bounce the manage server or else i dont see the webapps under portal management..
So basicly the 2 questions are:
1..Why doesnt hot deploying work in unix using X11?
2.. Why do i need to execute sync.sh everytime after every bounce?
    Thanks,
    Oscar

    Oscar,
Are you running the EBCC on the same machine as your server? The hot
deploy mechanism of the EBCC forces you to have the server and the EBCC
on the same machine. While the files are sync'd to the database, the
web app files never get transfered. The deployer then is syncing to
    nothing.
Try running it all on one machine, locally or with a remote display.
Depending on your window manager some Java Swing applications like the
EBCC do not always display fonts well remotely but it should still work.

  • WebLogic RMI UNIX Performance problem

    Hi.
I'm experiencing problems with the performance of RMI calls from within session
beans to external RMI services. I have a system running 4 RMI services in separate
JVMs to weblogic 6.1 instance on Solaris 2.6 on SPARC boxes with 1+ Gb of RAM.
The system was developed on NT and deployed to UNIX. A typical request is serviced
in 70-90 ms on the NT development box (Desktop 512Mb RAM) but when deployed to
the UNIX box takes anywhere between 500-4000 ms. Performance metrics in the code
indicate that 'crunch' times are similar but remote RMI calls are orders of magnitude
    greater.
Has anybody had similar problems? I have checked the tuning guides wrt TCP/IP
configurations but would not expect such a large difference using the default
Solaris configuration. Memory and CPU utilisation on the SPARC are low as are
I/O and other metrics available from vmstat.
    Cheers
    Pete

    Hi.
The JVMs are running on the same machine thus should be looking in /etc/hosts
    and not going via DNS.
I have read there is a performance gain by tying WL to a single CPU, any insight?

worse a reverse lookup. You might want to try using IP addresses in
your config to see if that helps.
