Deployment of CO class to the Development Instance Using PUTTY

Hi friends,
I am very new to this technology and I really want to thank one and all on the forums that have helped me a lot to learn and do.
I have a very urgent need which leads me to this request.
I have extended a controller in OAF and I need to move the CO file from my local jdeveloper to our Development instance. But we have to do that by USING ONLY PUTTY.
And I have no clue how to do that. I mean I need instructions on what I need to do and most importantly the COMMANDS that I need to use in PUTTY/Unix Box in order to deploy the CO file(code).
Would you please be kind enough to help me with this need. I would be really thankful to you.
Waiting to hear from you as soon as possible. ITS AN URGENT NEED.
Regards,
Raj.

Hi raj...
Please follow the steps below to deploy u r extended CO code to instance:
* Move the extendedCO from u r local Jdev to the corresponding directory(for ex:oracle/apps/per/selfservice/deployperson/webui/**put ur co here**) on $JAVA_TOP .
* Use Putty or WINSCP or Tunnelier to move files from u r local sys to Server.
* Compile the extendedCO on server(in the directory where it resides) using command: javac urCO.java
* Personalize the page and set u r new controller there so that it points and fires u r new extended CO...
Hope this Helps..
Regards,
Raghava.

  • Unable to connect to the database instance using Enterprise Manager.

I just install Oracle 10gr2 in my computer and after successful installation created a database instance which also install successfully. I then configure the listener using Net Manager and then start the database instance, the listener and dbconsole, everything seems to work fine and checking the status of this services from the command prompt indicates everything started successfully. But when I try to use Enterprise Manager I was directed to the Database Down Page with a message unable to connect to database instance. I try to use startup and perform recovery but every time I log-in to the database an error message comes out:
    SQLEXCEPTION
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-12705: Cannot access NLS data files or invalid environment specified.
It seems for Enterprise Manager to connect to the database it needs to access this NLS(National Language Support) data files or specify an environment variable to point to this data files. I am just new to Oracle and I am having difficulty solving this particular problem. Where is this data files located and how do I configure Enterprise Manager to access this NLS data Files?
Any help however small will be highly appreciated.

Are you able to connect to the database via SQLPlus?
What Operating System are you using?
Assuming Windows, can you RUN regedit to open Windows Registry and check the value or NLS_LANG when you select
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\KEY_<your_oracle_home>
Examples of vaules you may find:
    1. ENGLISH_UNITED KINGDOM.WE8MSWIN1252
    2. AMERICAN_AMERICA.US7ASCII
    3. AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252
    4. FRENCH_FRANCE.WE8MSWIN1252
    5. GERMAN_GERMANY.WE8MSWIN1252
If you are not able to connect to SQLPlus, from the command prompt try setting one of the above:
    e.g.
    D:\>set NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252
    D:\>sqlplus /nolog
    SQL>connect sysman/password

  • How to deploy a single class to the web portal?

EDIT: I've been able to create the deployment file. I found an older copy of NWDS and the old project folders are working perfectly again. I'll cross that bridge with the new version another time.
Firstly, sorry if this post is in the wrong section ... I looked around and couldn't find a section that I thought fitted.
A while back my company created a simple login module to similate a single sign on for our network. The module worked perfectly for a few months, then about a months ago it started rejecting logins for no apparent reason. I've asked all involved with the system and everyone claims that they haven't touched anything and that the problem must be within the Java class.
Due to recent workstation upgrades, I now have the latest version of NetWeaver Development Studio installed (SDN_Preview_SR_5_IDECE71). This new version does not like the old project that was created for this task, and I am struggling to create a new project which will do what I need.
Can someone point me to up-to-date documentation that explains how I can create a project which contains only a single java class that is to be deployed to a web portal? The class that is created extends the SAP class; com.sap.engine.interfaces.security.auth.AbstractLoginModule.
Please note that I have already look at some of the online documentation, for example: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/e1/8e51341a06084de10000009b38f83b/frameset.htm
And that was of no help as it seems the documentation is no longer up-to-date with the current version ... or am I looking at the wrong documentation?
Another possibility is to install the older NetWeaver Development Studio, the problem here is I do not know where I can download a copy for Windows? I can only find the latest version for Windows online.
Thanks in advance for any and all assistance,

    Hi Andreas,
You need to do the following:
    - Upload the text file as a local configuration file in the "Local Content":
    http://wikis.sun.com/display/OC2dot5/Uploading+a+Local+Configuration+File
    - Create an OS Update Profile for the configuration file:
    http://wikis.sun.com/display/OC2dot5/Creating+an+OS+Update+Profile
    - Create a job and select the profile you have created as well as the servers you want to deploy the text file on:

  • Do we need Test and Development instances

I would like to know that apart from the production instance, Test and Development 2 instances are required or only one is sufficient. If required how it will be useful.

I depends on your change management philosophy.
In our organization, the Development instance can differ a great deal from production in terms of setups, patch levels, etc. The Test instance is meant to be as close to production as possible in terms of setups and freshness of data. Only when patches are demonstrated to have resolved a problem in Dev are they promoted to Test, and shortly afterward to Production, as long as testing continues to be successful.
This allows our users to train and play in the Test instance without wondering what wacky things the IS team might be doing, be cause we're doing our work primarily in Dev. ;-) In addition, if we have a problem in our production instance, we can have a high degree of confidence that we can replicate it in Test, with identical setups and data. If it is necessary to get more recent data to troubleshoot a production problem, we can quickly clone production to Test without impacting any project work underway in Dev.
In reality, you're likely to find that you'll be lucky if you can get away with running only 3 EBS instances. :-) I'm currently managing 10 instances, but that's a little unusual for us...it's usually more like 4-5.

  • Enterprise Manager not able to connect to the Database Instance

After logging into the OEM as a SYS user , I was able to mount the database . The Database status shown to me as below,
    Listener - up
Agent Connection to the Instance - unavailable
Database instance- down - message - Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database instance.
After that I tried to connect to the database through sql developer , I was able to connect using connection for the SYS user and able to run the queries .d
So How can I be able to connect to the Database Instance using OEM ?
Please suggest me what to do or what to check ...

One cause of this problem is when the Oracle database is down & needs to be started.
A remote client send a request to the Listener asking to be connected to a specific service.
If/when the listener does not know anything about that service, the listener responds with ORA-12514
post results from the following two OS commands:
    lsnrctl status
    lsnrctl service
Since every connection request to the listener gets logged, listener.log file will contain a line with 12514 as status code.
This line contains valuable debugging details. So post this line & surrounding lines.

  • Unable to connect to an instance using EM but connecting fine with SQL*Plus

    Good morning,
I followed these steps (from the 2 Day DBA document):
    1. I created a template (including database) from an instance named "orcl" using DBCA, before proceeding to create the template, DBCA informed me that the instance would be shutdown, I told it to proceed.
    2. The template was created successfully.
    3. I am now unable to log into the orcl instance using EM, yet I can log into that instance without any problems using SQL*Plus.

sqlplus / "as sysdba" @db01 @/home/dba/myscriptUsing the convention of "multi-instance" would give an impression that you are willing to work in a RAC system. If yes, then you can use the command srvctl to manage more than one instance. But to run scripts or to execute some statement, you would need to connect only the designated instance using the properly configured TNSNAMES.ora file. So tell us clearly what you want to do and what you have done for it so far?

Should deploying a .rar put those classes in the Weblogic Classpath?
I am deploying an EJB and a RAR, the EJB has no dependencies on the
RAR b/c the EJB is writing to the Common Client Interface(CCI). The EJB
              client app has
sends/marshals as parameters classes that are defined in the RAR.
For some reason the EJB's class loader hierachy cannot find the definition
of this RAR specific class, even though the RAR is deploying. I receive the

When you pass an instance of
              com.myclientcompany.server.eai.InteractionSpecImpl
as an argument to your EJB, the appServer needs to
              de-serialize(unmarshall)
the object under the EJB context, and it needs the required class for
              unmarshalling,
              inside the ejb-jar(raTester.jar).
So if you include the interactionspecimpl class in your ejb-jar file,
              then you dont need
to include those classes in your server's classpath.

  • How can I handle deploying multiple test systems on the same PC that have been developed using different versions of LabVIEW, TestStand, and/or Switch Executive?

The major issue here is that the test systems must be documented and validated before being released to the production floor. Given this if a test station has multiple test systems deployed on it that have been developed on various versions of LV, TS, and Switch exec how can I force the test system selected to use the correct versions of TS, LV, and Switch exec.? I understand that the solution would be to recomplie everything and bring them up to the latest version but that would then require re-validation according to the QA department. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
It would be nice if theTS deployment was more like an LV executable... meaning when a LV executable is launched it always knows what LV runtime engine to use when there are multiple engines installed on a PC.

    Hi,
Multiply versions of teststand can reside on the same system, but only one version can run at a time. They is a utility that has to be run to set the active version.
The SequenceFiles have a version number, and you will find an error will be generate if you try to Load the sequencefile in the wrong version of TestStand.
The labview VIs will only work providing the correct version of the RTE is also installed on your system, even a labview executabe requires the correct RTE to be installed, either as part of the executable installation or as a seperate installation, before the labview exe will work correctly.
I'm not fimilar with the Switch exec but I would expect that it will also require the correct lower level device drivers to be available for the version you are using.
Therefore, as you are indicating that some of your system are at  a older version, its difficult to image how you could achive this, considering if you say you have different versions of the software(s). For a start, you may have the problem that newer code/ sequencefiles using additional functionatily not available in the older versions.
I would think your only solution would  be to have different deployments covering the different versions you have, or at least bring all your test systems up to the same version of teststand.

  • How to deal with the old instances of any class?

    Hi,
I have a doubt regarding the old instances of any class. Currently i am designing a game in java swing. I have a new game button, which creates a new game instance of the game class. There might be conditions that the old game is finished and user has clicked for new game button. The old game instance is no more useful for me. In fact that old instance must be deleted from the memory and a new instance should reside in the memory until user again proceed for a new game.
I want to ask that how to destroy old instances of any class?
    Thank you.

All you can do is remove any reference to it:
myGame = null;If that was the last reference then it will be eligible for garbage collection and it MAY be collected. And note that there's rarely a good reason to do this. In most cases, simply letting things go out of scope when the method that uses them ends is sufficient. About the only time you need to explicitly set something to null like this is, for example, if you're implementing a collection class and you want to remove an entry.

Yes, it is possible to change the development class for forms..
    Use SE03, transport organiser tools
    goto node OBJECT DIRECTORY ENTRY
select node "Change object directory entries"
    Execute
goto the next text box after data element, type FORM, give your SAPSCRIPT form name and tick the check box execute... now rightclick on your form and chenge development class..
Now coming to your second question is is not possible to delete a FORM that it is already transported to QA and Production, only way to do this is by doing client copy.. basis will do it for you..
