I have the following exception

This is the descripteur file (The problem seems to come from the inheritance). I used Mapping Workbench.

This error happens when there is a value in the database for your type indicator field that does not have an entry in the mappings. In this case, it looks like the field you specified as the type indicator has null values, which is not allowed.

After changing the version number I got the same error message with the differing number. I also tryed to deploy the web-app_3_0.xsd into the server. This also did not solve the problem.
Any ideas?

WLS 10.3.x does not implement Java EE 6 -- it's a Java EE 5 based server.
While we have added support for a few independent Java EE 6 specifications where we can -- such as JSF 2.0 in WLS 10.3.3 and JPA 2.0/JAX-RS 1.1 with WLS 10.3.4 that is coming in the next patchset -- we don't support all of the Java EE 6 model and thus you can't use any of the EJB 3.1, Servlet 3.0 changes and you can't deploy EJBs (and JPA entities) inside of a WAR file. Our next major release will be a Java EE 6 implementation, where this will be possible.

DescriptorException: field type mismatch
We are facing a typical exception when trying to fetch a XMLType field.
We are using toplink 9.0.4 version on Websphere 5.0
We have defined a model class with one variable of the class defined as XMLType and mapped that field to the underlying db field which is of XMLType type.
When we test the code to fetch the persistent objects with XMLType variables on JBuilder it works fine without giving any issues.
But when we deploy the application on to Websphere we get an error shown below:
In the below exception "m_defaultExpression" is the variable of type XMLType.
Can you please let us know what can be the possible difference running on JBuilder and Websphere??
One and only one difference which we could see was the JVM version. On JBuilder its 1.4.1 and websphere is on 1.3.1 JVM version. Not sure if this brings any difference in the working of toplink 9.0.4 runtime API.

This seems to me to be the likely problem -- in JDeveloper you've coded for the JDBC driver to return the oracle.xdb.XMLType, and in WebSphere you have a different JDBC driver and it's somehow returning something different.
One note is that in developer preview 2 for 10.0.3 on OTN we actually have better and more explicit mapping control to the XMLType (i.e., you make it a Document in your object model). You might want to play with that at some point.
As for your current situation, all I can suggest is to open your source.zip file for TopLink (it's in the jlib director with your other jars), and handle the situation in the ConversionManager.java class (in other words, you will need to experiement and check what types are coming back from each of the drivers and then write code to behave how you'd like).

We are upgrading various webservices to Weblogic 12c. We are running i a very annoying issue where the webservice can't be deployed on 12c whenever there is an element which is nillable and the type is an Enumartion. Putting eclipselink 2.5.0 on the class path solves the problem. However, i am using a shared environment and they don't allow me to change the classpath ;-(

Johan van KampenI've filed bug 382029 and checked in a fix into trunk (2.5) to fix the error you are getting so that it prints off the pk class causing the exception instead of 202 (which is the error code).
The reason it seems to work is that the error occurs at the tail end of initializing the descriptor for PlanEffectiveData. When you continue on, it doesn't retry initializing this descriptor and will proceed. What hasn't been initialized are the fetch groups and the primary key class for the PlanEffectiveData; you will likely run into an issue if you attempt to use an em.find on the PlanEffectiveData class.
I will have to test what the issue is, but I suspect it is a processing problem where the PersistableId IDClass isn't being replaced with the TemporalId class. Can you try removing the IDClass annotations from HistorySlice and seeing if you get this same exception? Presumably you will have to exclude any Entities that directly extend HistorySlice to test that it works correctly.

I know that Thread was posted already but what I read did not really fix the issue. (I have unzipped the Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\lib\wseeclient.zip).
My JSP/Java app was working fine until I created another ADF app in the same JDeveloper studio and run the 2 apps concurrently.

Thanks,Is that al what you see in logs? If there is more then please go through again carefully. There are certain serlvet and filter dependencies that are required to be commented out in the web.xml to be able to run it. Migrating from Glassfish to Weblogic
Hello,
We have a java project (EJB 3) that we deploy in glassfish. With new changes to company's infrastructure, glassfish is not available and I need to deploy the EAR files to Weblogic 10.3.0. We build the ear file using maven and get any required dependencies, however as expected, I have started running into issues. I have a stacktrace below here but does anyone have a suggestion for me as to how to get this done?

How do I change the context-root of a web app with a deployment plan?
I've been trying to figure this out for several hours.
I'm deploying a .ear file which sets the context root for the single web application it deploys in its application.xml deployment descriptor:

I looked at http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs103/pdf/deployment.pdf which says:
"You cannot use a deployment plan to change the context-root in an application.xml

to change the context-root in an weblogic-application.xml file."
I don't understand what this means. I'm not deploying my application as a library.
Does anyone know how to change the context-root for an application?

and as soon as i click on above link it redirects me to the following one.
http://localhost:7001/BrowserWeb/servlet/BrowserServlet
It means application server know that my full web access page is with '*servlet/BrowserServlet*' because its adding it in both the cases.
What I want is a constant URL whcih does not change?

Deployment Failures on WebLogic 9.2

I have several deployments that are failing on WebLogic 9.2, including the JBoss Drools BRMS. Upon startup the following error is generated for each deployment:

An unexpected error during deployment process....
The security realm weblogicDefault does not support application versioning. Unable to deploy.....[Security:090772].
A NullPointer Exception results when I try to start them. The BEA Enterprise Security product is installed on this server. I also have several security providers (Authentication, Authorization, etc) installed from Siteminder Netegrity.
As related to the versioning error, research has shown that all the providers in the security realm must support application versioning but I can't find any information concerning this from Siteminder. Plus I'm not even sure if this is the problem....

I have an IBM server which was built with an Intel Xeon CPU; and I run Solaris 10 on it.
It seems there is no WebLogc 10.3 package installer for Solaris x86 (SPARC only). So I must install WebLogic 10.2.
Does JDeveloper 11g support WebLogic 10.2 ? (I see only 10.3 when create an Application Server connection)
When I tried to deploy my ADF application to WebLogic Server (with the connection for WebLogic 10.3) from my computer, an exception occurred:
weblogic.management.DeploymentException: Unmarshaller failed
When I read the log file on the server, it said that there was an error in weblog-application.xml, related to the descriptor. (Sorry, I am not at the server right now; so I cannot write exactly what it said. If necessary, I'll post it later.)

Unable to access Database through DBAdapater

I am using Dbadapter in my SOA Composite application and trying to access that through invoke activity.
I am getting errors in both Jdeveloper and in SOA infra environment (http://localhost:8001/soa-infra).I am unable to proceed with my work.

2) Error with testing in soa-infra environment :

I am giving proper values for JNDI name in weblogic-ra.xml.
What I observed is We have a connectionfacatory configuration in ra.xml which is "oracle.tip.adapter.db.ManagaedConnectionfactory".
Is there any link with this connectionfactory to the errors that I am getting.

Hi,
I am using Coherence as a cache for my weblogic application. I use a Message Driven Bean that receive a message, write something in Coherence and then write an other message in a result queue.
I want all this operations to be fully transactional. To do this I try to use the Coherence Container Integration with JCA (see http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH33UG/Transactions%2C+Locks+and+Concurrency).
My first problem here is to install the rar file in weblogic. I try in weblogic version 10 and 8.1 (my coherence version is 3.2) and I got the following errors :

Are you sure this is correct? During the prepare phase I would have expected the
changes to have been made persistent (durable within the grid) but not immediately
visible on at least another node within the cluster assuming Coherence is using the
grid itself as a transaction log service.What I wrote is how the TransactionMap API documentation describes it.
I believe, the idea behind it is that the commit phase writes data to the underlying cache with putAll and removeAll operations which are supposed to be fail-safe and are not waiting for any other threads if the client owns the locks for the entries, even in case of cluster node failures.
With the transaction consistency and isolation verified in prepare() and all relevant locks owned, there is no transactional reason why the commit could fail. The only possible causes of failure are disastrous conditions or errors in write-through cache store operations preventing success of the putAll/remove operations (or coding errors in serialization/deserialization/indexed-methods).
If not then how would Coherence ensure the commit would be successfully executed
after a voting to commit during the prepare phase even in the event of a failure
occurring before commit. The TransactionMap 2PC is not supposed to be interleaved with other 2PC operations. It is supposed to work only above the Coherence caches (actually you can add one 1PC operation between the TransactionMap prepare()-s and TransactionMap commit()-s, if you implement CacheFactory.commitTransactionCollection manually).
Full XA is not supported over the caches by Coherence.
The XA-related stuff I mentioned is when you use the Coherence CacheAdapter to enlist Coherence caches under a JTA transaction. However in this case the caches together act as a 1PC resource (JCA LocalTransaction mode) from the JTA TransactionManager-s point of view and you do not see anything from it being internally 2PC.
In this case, the JTA transaction 2PC operation proceeds as follows:
1. All real XA resources enlisted to the JTA transaction are prepared. After this point all JDBC changes over an XA-driver JDBC connection are flushed to the database, so all locks to be acquired are acquired.
2. If all were prepared successfully, then the transactional caches enlisted under the JCA Adapter are committed together with code equivalent to CacheFactory.commitTransactionCollection(). The transactional caches are practically TransactionMap-s wrapped in two or three layer of wrapper objects.
3. If the CacheFactory.commitTransactionCollection() succeeded, then all the XA resources enlisted to the JTA transaction are committed. All JDBC locks are released only at this point.
Why I mentioned XA and locks and TRANSACTION_EXTERNAL in this thread at all is that if you modified equivalent entries in Coherence to what you modified in XA JDBC, then you don't in fact need to lock those entries in Coherence, because equivalent locks with a broader lifetime are existing in the database. TRANSACTION_EXTERNAL allows you to do just that.
