Design question:  How to double extend?

I know that extending two classes cannot be done, so is there a work around?
I have two classes: Class_A, Class_B.
I want all the methods within both of the classes to be usable in Class_C
So I want: Class_C extends Class_A, Class_B.
Thanks for any advice

I am grateful for everyone's help.
Sorry, maybe that was a bad example. Here is what I am doing, and I do not know the best way to implement it.
I have a big canvas, and different collection objects can be added to it.
I have 4 base collections: Memory, Subset, Selectable, Non-Selectable
              BaseCollection
   Memory   Subset   Selectable   Non-SelectI want a SelectableMemoryObject...
Below example I have to re-write Select & Non-Select methods over and over again:
                      Base
       Memory                    Subset
MemSelect MemNonSelect     SubSelect SubNonSelectBelow example I have to re-write Memory & Subset methods over and over again:
                      Base
       Select                    Non-Select
MemSelect MemNonSelect     SubSelect SubNonSelectHere is a case where I would want multiple inheritance. Once again, I appreciate the help.

  • Design question - how to update a list?

    Hi there,
    design question: I have a table with the following columns:
    1. id
    2. ref_number
    3. ticket_number
    example:
    1 60 234
    2 60 256
    3 60 664
    4 60 237
    consider this - user can see on the screen the list of all tickets associated with ref_num (in the example above everything associated with 60)
    now I would like to UPDATE the list. The user might have added more to the list or, alternatively, remove from the list.
    The easiest thing to do is to DELETE all the list with ref_number=60 and then do INSERT
    Q: is this ok? if not, how would you update such a list if I don't have the id's of every row?
    thanks

    If you want to write code that's easier for you to write, you do whatever the hell you want.
    If you want to write good code, retain the ID.

  • How do i extend airplay to stream music at the same time to AEX and ATV2

    I have a new ATV2 and an AEX, my macbook, 2 Ipod touches and an Ipad2.
    I figured out how to setup my ATV2 and airplay through my macbook and my touches. My ATV2 is in my living room on a Yamaha 6.1 receiver with 2 channels. I have 6 speakers in my living room on channel A and a speaker in my bathroom on channel B.
    So....I decided to grab an extra Bose speaker and bring it to my foyer/kitchen and hook it up to my AEX since i cant hear the music too well when im cooking or in my office from the speakers in the living room.
    I setup the AEX to connect direct to the speaker. When Im on Itunes (either mac book or touch) i only get two options to airplay, AEX or ATV2.
    My question: How do I extend airplay to stream music on BOTH AEX and ATV2 with the same music at the same time?
    Please and thank you!

    As you are already aware both the 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) and ATV2 are AirPlay "speakers." When both devices are properly connected to your home's wireless or wired network, both should show up in iTunes as in your case. Also the iTunes AirPlay speaker selector should provide you with an option to choose multiple speakers. As a minimum, you should see: Computer, the AXn, the ATV2, and the Multiple Speakers options. Is this not the case?

  • Designer beginner's question: How to populate form with XML web service output?

    sorry, here is yet another Adobe Designer beginners question: <br /><br />My form uses a webservice data connection which returns <br />an xml-string like this: <br /><br /><?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?> <br /><CurrentWeather> <br />  <Location>Sion, Switzerland (LSGS) 46-13N 007-20E 481M</Location> <br />  <Time>Apr 26, 2007 - 09:50 AM EDT / 2007.04.26 1350 UTC</Time> <br />  <Wind> from the WSW (240 degrees) at 15 MPH (13 KT):0</Wind> <br />  <Visibility> greater than 7 mile(s):0</Visibility> <br />  <SkyConditions> partly cloudy</SkyConditions> <br />  <Temperature> 80 F (27 C)</Temperature> <br />  <DewPoint> 46 F (8 C) </DewPoint> <br />  <RelativeHumidity> 30%</RelativeHumidity> <br />  <Pressure> 29.88 in.     The question is still unanswered!
    Let me give some details and break up the problem
    in more specific questions:
    - In Designer 8.1 I click new data binding --> wsdl -->
    http://www.webservicex.net/globalweather.asmx?wsdl
    A message box comes up and says "cannot load wsdl file"
    ==> 1. Question:
    Why maybe refuses Designer to load the http-wsdl,
    although this option is explicitly allowed?
    - When I save the wsdl to a file, Designer loads it
    without any problems. The web service uses two input parameters
    (CountryName and CityName) and returns an xml-string GetWeatherResult)
    like the one in my first posting. I drag these fields from the binding view to my form, and it runs ok!
    - THE PROBLEM IS, THAT I NEET TO EXTRACT THE ELEMENT FIELDS
    FROM THE RESULT XML-STRING!
    ==> 2. Question:
    How to extract xml element fields from wsdl output into a form?
    - I tried with eclipse and XmlSpy to build a modified wsdl file
    with structured output definition, so that the specific element fields
    show up in the data binding view and are usable to my form,
    and the modified wsdl maps consistently to the web service result string.
    So far without success: In the PDF -preview or Reader-
    when the wsdl-binding is executed and the web service output
    should show up in the result fields, just nothing happens.
    ==> 3. Question:
    Can this strategy to provide a "modified wsdl" possibly succeed,
    and how?
    ==> 4. Question:
    Is is possible -and how?- to check whether an xml string
    is valid as web service output against the wsdl-definition?
    ==> 5. Question:
    How to debug a web service connection with Designer?
    - Finally I tried to find a way to load the result xml-string
    into a local var in the script editor and parse it, much like:
    var xmlDoc = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLDOM");
    xmlDoc.load(DataSet.MyForm.GetWeatherResult.rawValue);
    ==> 6. Question:
    Is it possible -and how?- to use a framework like dotnet?
    How to utilize SAX or DOM in Designer?
    Many thanks and appreciations for your help!!

  • Wire harness design questions

    I'm guessing not many people here are involved with small batch design and construction of harnesses.
    On the last J1939 250 kbps automotive harness design that went out the manufacturer substituted some Deutsch junction connectors which effectively turned the bus into a star. Arm lengths were also pretty bad: 13, 19, 37, 108, and 120", and 60" to a connector that joins another harness under our customer's design control. Presumably that one will have several nodes and a terminating resistor. Adding to the difficulty is that the 19" arm is to an ECU with built in 60 ohm resistor, and the 13" arm also has a node with built in resistor, which was developed with the understanding that the resistor was optional, which hasn't been the case just yet.
    I complained a bit, and came up with a compromise design that does some doubling back inside the harness to maintain a decent bus topology. Now it has the terminated ECU at one bus end, 30" stub, 4" branch to the other terminated node, 60" branch, 101" branch and then connector to customer's harness. Lengths between the branches range from 12" to 30", plus at least 50" for the customer connection. Not super thrilled about the remaining branch lengths, but it's better. With some more cajoling we could maybe double back and cut that 101" down. The 60" branch is not going to get shorter, as that would require 2 trips through a cannon connector. All of this is run through shielded twisted pair wiring, bound up with the general wiring (24 and 12 VDC primarily).
    Sorry for the long setup. Functional questions:
    -barring rigorous testing, how detrimental are the long stub and branches, and the superfluous terminated node?
    -any suggestions on making junctions for each branch? In and out of the shielded twisted wire each time is quite a roadblock for small scale manufacturing, especially to keep single end connection for the shield intact.
    -is it worth looking into other robustness measures, such as split termination? That is assuming we ever have that opportunity.
    Deutsch would love for us to go full tilt on their 3 pin setup, but that's as unlikely as a standalone CAN bus harness. I went through the TI CAN bus document here: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slla270/slla270.pdf and have a slightly better understanding of the technical reasons for following the specifications. Nothing I can really point to as signal of doom however.
    Thanks,
    Mark

    The routing of a CAN a bus and it's wires can be a difficult thing.  On the surface it is easy, just follow the approved design spec for CAN which as a summary is the following:
    Create a bus which is linear where nodes attach to the bus, and no node is farther than 15cm away from the bus.
    Attatch a 120ohm resistor between CAN high and low on the first and the last node of the bus.
    Does a CAN bus suddently fall appart if these recommendations aren't followed?  Not always.  These requirements are to help shield against noise and reflection on the lines.  If you are in an environment with no noise, then maybe you don't need to follow these rules so closly.
    We make testers were we can test up to 12 devices at once.  Some times we are forced to put all of these devices on one CAN bus, leading to high bus load over 90% at 500K baud.  Each UUT gets its own 10 foot harness.  So this means we may have 12 nodes, each with a 10 foot harness, going to a single point where the CAN port is.  In this design we only have one terminating resistor and it is at the CAN port of the tester.  So we broke both of the CAN spec rules.  But in our test environment, which deal with 480VAC power supplies, shaker tables, and environmental conditions with humidity and temperature, we didn't have a problem.  But I was very nervious about the design choices made by others, until we had lots of data showing the robustness.
    For us there wasn't much alternative.  Either have 12 different CAN ports, which increase cost and system complexity, or we could have extra wires so the CAN bus would go out and come back from each UUT which would mean more cost in harnesses, and it would mean all harnesses need to be connected, even when a UUT isn't to complete the bus.

  • Design question: Link data between JFrames

    Dear all,
    I have a design question. I have this form in a JFrame where you can set an icon as a property. To achieve this, I have a "Set" button on the form which will open a new window with all the available icons. When you click an icon, I want the "icon" frame to be closed and the selected icon to be send to the original form. This is the way I do it now:
    Interface :
    public interface IconUpdate
    public void updateIcon(Icon icon);
    }Main frame with the "Set" button:
    public class Test extends JFrame implements IconUpdate, ActionListener
        private Icon icon = null;
        public Test()
            // add button and actionlistener and that kind of stuff
        public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e)
            if(e.getSource() == btnSetIcon)
                new IconFrame(this);
        public void updateIcon(Icon icon)
            this.icon = icon;
    }The Icon frame:
    public class IconFrame extends JFrame implements ActionListener
        IconUpdate parent = null;
        public IconFrame(IconUpdate parent)
            this.parent = parent;
            // Initialize table,"Pick" button etc.
        public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e)
            if(e.getSource() == btnPick)
                parent.updateIcon((Icon)list.getSelectedValue());
                this.dispose();
    }Maybe I made some spelling faults, but this is the way I implement it. Now my question is: is there another way to achieve my goal? If I have to create an interface for every "popup choose dialog" in my program, I have to create many of them. I know using a combobox in the main frame is an option, but I just want to use it this way. Can anyone tell me how I can rewrite this code to make it better / more professional?
    Tx in advance!!!
    Peter

    I can think of a couple options:
    1) Let IconFrame's constructor accept a Test parameter, instead of creating an interface.
    2) Make IconFrame into a modal dialog & have it store the user's selection in a variable. Then when you show the dialog, your action listener will block until the user selects an icon. Then you can call "getSelectedIcon()" to retrieve his/her selection. This would be much like the JOptionPane.showXXX() methods, and probably the cleaner solution.

  • How do i extend the bandwidth of my system

    The control problem I am having is extending the bandwidth of a force control system. The system is used to apply mechanical load to bone to facilitate research into Osteoporosis. The following concisely describes the system and the different things I have tried to solve the problem,. I imagine it is quite lengthy compared to the usual questions but any advice you have to offer to a Mechanical engineer would be much appreciated.
    System Description:
    I am using Labview (with Flex motion) to program the NI 7344 motion control servo board (PID update rate of 62.4 micro-seconds). This output signal is then amplified by the MID 7654 power amplifier, supplying current to a Voice coil (this can be considered as a Linear DC motor with a bandwidth of 40Hz). This applies the force to a bone sample. Feedback is then provided by a load cell and connected to the ADC feedback channel of the servo board. (For full specs of all mentioned components please refer to the web links which are listed at the end of this email!)
    Problem description:
    After optimally tuning the PID characteristics and defining the amplitude and pre-load, I can successfully control a continuous, sinusoidally varying force (frequency 1Hz), however when I try to increase the frequency to 10Hz, the amplitude of the output waveform is marginally reducedi.e. there is attenuation. I know that the bone sample is not viscoelastic enough to act as a low pass filter. The bandwidth of the Voice coil is not a limiting factor either, so..
    How do I extend the bandwidth of this system?
    The following Paragraph describes some of the things I have tried, which have had some or no influence. Being a mechanical engineer I would be grateful for any expert advice.
    (Note all results have been verified with an oscilloscope where applicable)
    Influential Factors:
    1) Method of programming.
    To generate the wave form a series of points describing one period are written to a circular buffer on the servo board. The points are executed in 10 milli-second intervals and are splined through using a cubic spline algorithm (hence a period described by 100 points gives us a frequency of 1Hz and a 10 point wave gives us 10Hz). All this happens on the servo board in real time. I am confident that although the integrity of the sine wave is reduced at 10 Hz the amplitude is still described within the 10 points and so is not the reason for attenuation. However this does limit the maximum frequency achievable. (I would say the max frequency is about 20Hz)
    2) Redefining the resolution of the of the ADC Feedback
    The 12 bit ADC feedback channel is scanned at a rate of 50 micro seconds (faster than the loop update rate which is 62.4 micro-seconds). Initially the voltage range was specified at -/+ 10 V giving 20/(2^12) Volts per significant bit, however I noticed that when I increased the resolution to the max possible by changing the range to 0-5 V (giving 5/(2^12) volts per significant bit), the amount of attenuation was reduced, however there was still some attenuation there. This begs another question why would this factor improve the frequency response???
    3) PID characteristics
    The system gives an optimum step response when using only a pure integral term and setting Kp= 0, Kd= 0. It seems as though the fastest step response is limited to about 6 milli-seconds. The system is fine tuned and any slight increase in the integral term results in immediate instability. Therefore there is no scope to improve the system bandwidth by altering the PID characteristics.
    Can you offer me any expert advice?
    Considering this information, what would you advise? Do I need a board with a faster loop update rate ?, I have considered using Labview Real Time, which offers a board with a 26 KHz update rate as apposed to the 16Hz (62.4 micro-seconds) provided by the current board). Do I need to use different control algorithms as apposed to PID, if so which ones???
    Any help or advice you have to offer would be much appreciated and could help in the battle against osteoporosis. Should you require more information or would like to speak to me send me an email and I can answer any further questions or give you a ring.

    Hi Duncan,
    i'm sorry that this answer took this long, but i think a constructive answer which takes a long time is better than a useless answer in a short time....
    For the following thought-provoking impulses we have to consider the signal-change when increasing the frequency. The points which describe the signal get streched over the period. Increasing the frequency enlarges the distance between the points.
    a) The spline algorithm could be the problem here hence the signal does not correctly pass through the points anymore with increased frequency. Therefor the amplitude decreases with increased frequency. Perharps another kind of spline algorithm can be helpful.
    b) Another point can be the control deviation. Since a feedback control system needs a devia
    tion for the control, the deviation gets larger when increasing the frequency of the controlled loop. Maybe the control loop has to set the desired value when already getting to a new point. So the signal could get "washy" and the maximum amplitude is reduced.
    In this case, the "Velocity Feedforward"-parameter could be of use. This parameter is to use with caution for it can have similar effects like a too high chosen integral term.
    c) You can try to set the 7344 to circular contour. Therefor use 2 axis where you use the second axis as dummy (open step). There is a major disadvantage in this setup: since you use 2 axes at the same time, the 7344 can update each axis only with 125 microseconds. But perharps this is sufficient. Either way the parameter of the control loop have to be adapted (integral term reduced).
    d) If the 125 microseconds describend in c) is insufficient, you can try to test it with a 7352. The 7352 can handle 2 axis at a time with a update rate of 62.5 microse
    conds for each axis.
    I hope this answer helps you in solving your rather special issue.

  • Design question: Scheduling a Variable-timeslot Resource

    I originally posted this in general java programming, because this seemed like a more high-level design descussion. But now I see some class design questions. Please excuse me if this thread does not belong here (this is my first time using the forum, save answering a couple questions).
    Forum,
    I am having trouble determining a data structure and applicable algorithm (actually, even more general than the data structure -- the general design to use) for holding a modifiable (but more heavily read/queried than updated), variable-timeslot schedule for a given resource. Here's the situation:
    Let's, for explanation purposes, say we're scheduling a school. The school has many resources. A resource is anything that can be reserved for a given event: classroom, gym, basketball, teacher, janitor, etc.
    Ok, so maybe the school deal isn't the best example. Let's assume, for the sake of explanation, that classes can be any amount of time in length: 50 minutes, 127 minutes, 4 hours, 3 seconds, etc.
    Now, the school has a base operation schedule, e.g. they're open from 8am to 5pm MTWRF and 10am to 2pm on saturday and sunday. Events in the school can only occur during these times, obviously.
    Then, each resource has its own base operation schedule, e.g. the gym is open from noon to 5pm MTWRF and noon to 2pm on sat. and sun. The default base operation schedule for any resource is the school which "owns" the resource.
    But then there are exceptions to the base operation schedule. The school (and therefore all its resources) are closed on holidays. The gym is closed on the third friday of every month for maintenance, or something like that. There are also exceptions to the available schedule due to reservations. I've implemented reservations as exceptions with a different status code to simplify things a little bit: because the basic idea is that an exception is either an addition to or removal from the scheduleable times of that resource. Each exception (reservation, closed for maintenance, etc) can be an (effectively) unrestricted amount of time.
    Ok, enough set up. Somehow I need to be able to "flatten" all this information into a schedule that I can display to the user, query against, and update.
    The issue is complicated more by recurring events, but I think I have that handled already and can make a recurring event be transparent from the application point of view. I just need to figure out how to represent this.
    This is my current idea, and I don't like it at all:
    A TimeSlot object, holding a beginning date and ending date. A data structure that holds list of TimeSlot objects in order by date. I'd probably also hold an index of some sort that maps some constant span of time to a general area in the data structure where times around there can be found, so I avoid O(n) time searching for a given time to find whether or not it is open.
    I don't like this idea, because it requires me to call getBeginningDate() and getEndDate() for every single time slot I search.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    If I am correct, your requirement is to display a schedule, showing the occupancy of a resource (open/closed/used/free and other kind of information) on a time line.
    I do not say that your design is incorrect. What I state below is strictly my views and should be treated that way.
    I would not go by time-slot, instead, I would go by resource, for instance the gym, the class rooms (identified accordingly), the swimming pool etc. are all resources. Therefore (for the requirements you have specified), I would create a class, lets say "Resource" to represent all the resources. I would recommend two attributes at this stage ("name" & "identifier").
    The primary attribute of interest in this case would be a date (starting at 00:00hrs and ending at 24:00hrs.), a span of 24hrs broken to the smallest unit of a minute (seconds really are not very practical here).
    I would next encapsulate the availability factor, which represents the concept of availability in a class, for instance "AvailabilityStatus". The recommended attributes would be "date" and "status".
    You have mentioned different status, for instance, available, booked, closed, under-maintainance etc. Each of these is a category. Let us say, numbered from 0 to n (where n<128).
    The "date" attribute could be a java.util.Date object, representing a date. The "status", is byte array of 1440 elements (one element for each minute of the day). Each element of the byte array is populated by the number designation of the status (i.e, 0,1,2...n etc.), where the numbers represent the status of the minute.
    The "Resource" class would carry an attribute of "resourceStatus", an ordered vector of "ResourceStatus" objects.
    The object (all the objects) could be populated manually at any time, or the entire process could be automated (that is a separate area).
    The problem of representation is over. You could add any number of resources as well as any number of status categories.
    This is a simple solution, I do not address the issues of querying this information and rendering the actual schedule, which I believe is straight forward enough.
    It is recognized that there are scope for optimizations/design rationalization here, however, this is a simple and effective enough solution.
    regards

  • LDAP design question for multiple sites

    LDAP design question for multiple sites
    I'm planning to implement the Sun Java System Directory Server 5.2 2005Q1 for replacing the NIS.
    Currently we have 3 sites with different NIS domains.
    Since the NFS over the WAN connection is very unreliable, I would like to implement as follows:
    1. 3 LDAP servers + replica for each sites.
    2. Single username and password for every end user cross those 3 sites.
    3. Different auto_master, auto_home and auto_local maps for three sites. So when user login to different site, the password is the same but the home directory is different (local).
    So the questions are
    1. Should I need to have 3 domains for LDAP?
    2. If yes for question 1, then how can I keep the username password sync for three domains? If no for question 1, then what is the DIT (Directory Infrastructure Tree) or directory structure I should use?
    3. How to make auto map work on LDAP as well as mount local home directory?
    I really appreciate that some LDAP experta can light me up on this project.

    Thanks for your information.
    My current environment has 3 sites with 3 different NIS domainname: SiteA: A.com, SiteB:B.A.com, SiteC:C.A.com (A.com is our company domainname).
    So everytime I add a new user account and I need to create on three NIS domains separately. Also, the password is out of sync if user change the password on one site.
    I would like to migrate NIS to LDAP.
    I want to have single username and password for each user on 3 sites. However, the home directory is on local NFS filer.
    Say for userA, his home directory is /user/userA in passwd file/map. On location X, his home directory will mount FilerX:/vol/user/userA,
    On location Y, userA's home directory will mount FilerY:/vol/user/userA.
    So the mount drive is determined by auto_user map in NIS.
    In other words, there will be 3 different auto_user maps in 3 different LDAP servers.
    So userA login hostX in location X will mount home directory on local FilerX, and login hostY in location Y will mount home directory on local FilerY.
    But the username and password will be the same on three sites.
    That'd my goal.
    Some LDAP expert suggest me the MMR (Multiple-Master-Replication). But I still no quite sure how to do MMR.
    It would be appreciated if some LDAP guru can give me some guideline at start point.
    Best wishes

  • Design question for database connection in multithreaded socket-server

    Dear community,
    I am programming a multithreaded socket server. The server creates a new thread for each connection.
    The threads and several objects witch are instanced by each thread have to access database-connectivity. Therefore I implemented factory class which administer database connection in a pool. At this point I have a design question.
    How should I access the connections from the threads? There are two options:
    a) Should I implement in my server class a new method like "getDatabaseConnection" which calls the factory class and returns a pooled connection to the database? In this case each object has to know the server-object and have to call this method in order to get a database connection. That could become very complex as I have to safe a instance of the server object in each object ...
    b) Should I develop a static method in my factory class so that each thread could get a database connection by calling the static method of the factory?
    Thank you very much for your answer!
    Kind regards,

    So your suggestion is to use a static method from a
    central class. But those static-methods are not realy
    object oriented, are they?There's only one static method, and that's getInstance
    If I use singleton pattern, I only create one
    instance of the database pooling class in order to
    cionfigure it (driver, access data to database and so
    on). The threads use than a static method of this
    class to get database connection?They use a static method to get the pool instance, getConnection is not static.

  • How can I extend the range of my chart?

    I've asked this question before on here, and found that shift-clicking for more cells has usually worked, but I have now run into a new problem...
    My chart used to cover the range B5:P50. However, since moving a column it now only covers the cell range H5:P50. My chart is on a separate sheet. Usually if I want to add more to the range it will be downwards, so I just click on the chart, then click on the Main Sheet and shift-click to add more cells. Unfortunately, because the range I want is to the left of the highlighted area this time, I can't use shift-click.
    How can I extend the range of my chart so it includes cells to the left of the currently selected range? In Excel I'd be able to just type the range in a box somewhere, rather than all this GUI-based clicking and dragging which is actually more difficult! Is there somewhere I can just type the range in that I want?
    Thanks!

    "I want to add some series that are missing from the chart. How do I do that?"
    Here's a two step process to do that:
    Select the chart to show the the data selection on the associated chart.
    Click in the leftmost column of the data, and drag left to change (move) the selection (blue arrow) for the result below:
    Grab the control handle (small circle) at the bottom right corner of the selection, and drag  right, as indicated by the blue arrow.
    Result shown below.
    Reassign colours and do other formatting as desired.

  • How do I extend my background all the way to the browser's edge?

    I'm making my first website with iWeb, and I'm learning as I go. I tried to use some wallpaper as my background instead of black or white, but when I published the site to a folder, it has black bars to the left and right side of my site rather than extending all the way to the borders of the browser. I had begun designing my site with a black template, so that explains why they're black, but why are they there? How do I extend an image to fill the entire browser space. Also, can I change the dimensions of my site, so it's not just a slender rectangle in the center of the browser? Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
    I'm not sure if I am able to help, but will try.
    First, I'm not sure you can fill to the browser's edge. (could be wrong though). If you want to adjust the web page so it is not just a narrow strip down the middle, open your inspector and go to the Page section (second from left). There you will see the name of your page and Page Size. Where it says Content Width and Height you can put your dimensions in there, which should solve that problem. I usually use dimensions of 1024 px wide and 3500 Height.
    I have found if I want to use an image as a background that I am better off placing it on the page and sizing it to fit the way it looks best. If you visit my site and go to Mark's page that is what I did for the background on that page. When I've tried to do it from the Page section of the inspector I never seem to get satisfactory results.
    I hope this helps and you enjoy your site.

  • How do I extend the length of a photo in iMovie

    I am trying to create a movie using only photos from iPhoto. How do I extend the viewing length of each photo? I have about 90 photos and I'm trying to do a 15-20 min. movie presentation. Right now, each photo only shows up for about 3 seconds. I want them to be on the screen for at least 5-10 before transitioning. Help!

    several options:
    • select the clip in the timeline of your Project
    • drag'n pull the end of the clip to change its duration
    or
    • double-click the clip in the timeline of your project
    • click on i (as info), upper right of screen
    • change the numbers in the duration field
    or
    • select two7a few/all clips in the timeline of your project
    • click on 'Adjust' (upper right of iMovies window)
    • click on i (as info)
    • change the numbers in the duration field

  • Hello Experts, I have a question, how I can import "linq" file to ms sql?

    Hello Experts, I have a question, how I can import linq (OpenUIPlayersDB.linq) file to ms sql? Form Sample OpenUI applications?
    BR
    Lukas

    Lukas,
    The .linq file is just a sql script.  You can either change the extension to .sql and directly open and run in SQL Server Management studio or open the file directly.
    The script is designed to run against SQL server so if you are using another database type you may need to tweak the script (date/time formats, data types, column select statement).
    Also, last I checked the name of the table from the script (OpenUIPlayers) doesn't match the table name from the OpenUI-app.agxz export so you will also need to adjust either the script in the export or the name of the imported table once you finish loading it.

  • Centralized WLC Design Question

    Dears,
    In my scenario, i am designing CEntralized WLC deployment. I have 30 AP in Buidling X(200 Users) and 20 AP in Buidling Y(150 Users). I am planning to install HA WLC CLuster where Pimary & Secondary WLC will reside in physically different Data Centers A & B.
    I have a wireless Design Question and i am not able to get clear answers. Please refer to the attached drawing and answer the following queries:
    If Buidling X users want to talk to building Y Users, then how Control & Data Traffic flow will happen between Buidling X & Y. Would all the traffic will go to Primary WLC from Bldg X APs first and then it will be Re Routed back to Buidling Y APs? Can i achieve direct switching between Bldg X&Y APs without going toward WLC?
    If Building X & Y Users want to access the internet, how would be traffic flow? Would the traffic from X&Y AP will go tunnel all the traffic towards WLC and then it will be routed to internet gateway?is it possible for Bldg X&Y AP to directly send traffic towards Internet Gateway without going to controllers?
    I have planned to put WLC at physically different locations in different DC A & B. Is it recommended to have such a design? What would be the Failver traffic volume if Primary WLC goes down and secondary controller takes over?
    My Reason to go for Centralized deployment is that i want to achieve Centralized Authentication with Local Switching. Please give your recommendations and feedback

    Rameez

              Traffic flows to the WLC that is the primary for the AP's, then its routed over your network.

              The WLC isn't a router, so you would have to put the Internet traffic an a subnet and route.

    Like I mentioned... earlier, the two HA WLC has to be on the same layer 2 subnet in order for you to use HA.  The guide mentions an Ethernet cable to connect both the HA ports on the WLC.
    Thanks,
    Scott
