Develop some common component

Hi All,
I want to develop a common component which can be used in many different applications. For ex. a common pop up view, which can get some input parameter and return the results to the application. By different application I mean different projects.
Is it possible.
I have already explored the option of inter-application navigation and I don't want to use that rather just a common component which I import in my existing project and use it's functionality.
Plz let me know.

yes it is possible.
I also have created once an common Component with a LogManager, Messagemananger Popupprovider, Debugviewer etc.
You can easily do that by creating a Local DC and when you want to use that one, you can import that DC to the NWDI by creating a DC on the DTR with the same name and importing the source of your local DC.

How to develope some softwares to control 2 DAQ cards(5102)

We are trying to develope some softwares to control 2 DAQ cards(5102) to collect view and analyse the data. And set for sampling rate, time interval etc.
And we need to trigger the total 4 channels at the same time.
May you give any hints where should we start, any driver toolkit.

Depends on what you want to do, but this is one way to do it.
Configure task 1, configure task 2 (task 1 and 2 have the same hardware triggrer and both tasks are triggered to start on same signal either through RTSI or physically wiring). Inside of a loop, read task 1 read task 2 (depends on the relative rates of the tasks you might need 2 parallel loops) when daq is cone, exit the read loop and close the tasks.

Some Software Component Versions do not show up in transaction sproxy

I have a landscape with a CRM system, a PI system (with the SLD on it) and some other systems.
In transaction sproxy in the CRM system the Software Component Version SAP CRM ABAP 7.0 shows up, but others that should be there like SAP ABA 7.01 are not there.
So I went on the SLD and edited the technical system for the CRM system, I added the product SAP CRM 7.00 and set the checkmark for installed for the relevant SWCVs like SAP ABA 7.01.
I then went to the business system for the relevant CRM client and there also checked those SWCVs.
But still they do not show up in transaction sproxy in the CRM system.
What am I missing?

I needed to develop some pictures from my iphone and since bluetooth only works between apple products, i had no choice but to use my cable (stupid really). i would like to know if there are information from my phone that are stored in that pc. pls

While it is theoretically possible, it seems unlikely. Was the phone out of your sight? How long did they have it? Why do you believe that this might have happened? If you're concerned, changes the passwords on your various accounts.

Two FACT Tables, Some Common and Non-Common Dimensions

Hello all, a question i am sure you have faced in the past but still wanted to get your feedback.
I have a few FACT tables and some dimensions that are shared (common dimensions). Rest of the dimensions are related to one or the other FACT tables.
What is the best way to present a view where users can pull information from both the FACT tables?
I am successful in pulling the shared (common) dimensions across BOTH FACT tables having the same grain but this view breaks down when i pull information from one Dimension that has not much to do with the other FACT.
What is the best way to present this? Should this be broken in three subject areas?
Subject Area 1 --> Some Dims --> FACT Table A
Subject Area 2 --> Some Dims --> FACT Table B
AND
Subject Area 3 --> ***Only Common Dims*** --> FACT Table A & FACT Table B?

Using Message Pool of a common component

Hello All,
We are trying to use the message pool of a common DC in all other DCs to keep single point of change.
We used the public part of common DC in all other DCs.
Currently we are using direct connection between views and the used Interface Controller of common DC. I want to avoid this because i feel view should interact to external interfaces via component controller.
So is there any way we can use the message pool of common DC in views via component controller?

Hi Shobhan,
You can create a context attribute in the Component Controller and populate the value using the message pool. Then you can access the Component controllers context element from the view (create a context attribute in the View Controller and link this with the Component Controller) making your controllers work proper according to the MVC principles.

Performing some common tasks with LR is just... a joke

I'm a big fan of Lightroom, I use it as my main workflow application, I even wrote detailled reviews on some european websites, etc...
But I can't get some of its basic features. Using LR as an image viewer and e-mailing is really a joke.
Preparing and converting 10 CR2 files to 1024 x 768 @ 90 % quality for e-mail takes about 2 - 2 1/2 minutes on my machine.
Doing the same thing ( plus adding frame and shadow ! ) with Faststone Viewer - which is free - takes exactly 10 seconds, yes, 10 seconds on the same machine.
Don't get me wrong, LR is probably the best thing released for photographers since a while but, for some parts of it, I just don't get it.
I wish I could perform basic & common tasks within Lightroom, which is simply not possible.

Yes, I know that LR has to render pictures and Faststone uses only embedded previews from raw file. But I think most of you didn't get what I try to explain. Let's start again :
- Faststone is very fast at preparing attachments for e-mails, from ANY type of image files ( raw, TIFF, JPEG, whatever ).
- Faststone does the same with edited images, quick and easy ( so the comments about the embedded raw files which helps Faststone to create quick attachments have no value, not at all ).
- Faststone resizes on the fly, including batch images, and has a scroll menu to select standard sizes ( 1024 x 768, 800 x 600, etc... ).
- Faststone always let you know the dimensions AND the size of the output file. With Lightroom, while using the JPEG compression slider, you have to guess the file size and expect it not to be too heavy.
- Faststone knows your default email client. Lightroom doesn't.Lightroom requires to put shortcuts in folders, bla-bla-bla... or to install an extra program - GREAT.
Why are those common sense stuff and functions not part of Lightroom ? Having to guess the output size of my jpeg files just goes beyond me. In my company, the max attachment size is 5 MB. With faststone, I can easily control that. With Lightroom, not at all.I guess that, in 2007, emailing is still a major communication system.
Now coming back to thumbnails viewing : I want to have the same speed and ease of use as BreezeBrowser of Faststone. Period.

Focus order depends on the order in which components are added to their parent container. If you wish to change the order, you must either use a FocusManager or you can use a FocusLost listener to know when the user leaves one field so you can request focus to some other field.

How to run a mapping from plsql procedure in some common group?

I have a Workflow process, when I running him from OWB I saw in OWB Browser first the name of this process and under this process mappings that in this process.
In one mapping I have some pre-mapping procedure that doing something and prepare some parameters for other mapping and run it (steps for running a mapping I take from sqlplus_exec_template.sql script) and I can't put this mapping into Workflow process for some reasons.
But in OWB browser this mapping doesn't belong to my Workflow process, they located on the one level.
How to modify steps for running mapping so that my mapping is located under this Workflow process in OWB Browser?

It sounds like what you are trying to do, is run one mapping in a pre-mapping process of another mapping. You use a wrapper that implements sqlplus_exec_template.sql in PL/SQL. Is that correct?
I don't think that by the way you execute this mapping, it ends up in the context of the process flow. The reason is because according to Warehouse Builder the mapping is being invoked standalone (through the wrapper that implements the template). As a result, the context in which Warehouse Builder would log the messages is lost.
What I suggest you do (assuming I understand the problem correctly), is run the mapping as a separate mapping in the process flow. Because in the current release we do not support passing output parameters in the process flow, you will have to (temporarily) store the results of the first mapping in a table and pick it up from there in the other mapping. In the next major release (autumn 2004) we will support passing parameters between activities.

SQL developer some minor anoying problems.

can someone please explain to me why i have this problems in SQL developer.
First problem is with search db objects.
When i type in search string and i tick all objects all shemas it starts search ... finds nothing
because search changes "search in all schemas" to "search only under connected user".
Then i have to manually select all schemas and run search again and then it searches under all schemas.

Second problem is (i dont know if this is intended or not) that if i mix upercase letters in search string
with lower case it wont find anything.

Third problem is when search finds something and i click on a table for example from found resoults
it always opens up 2 tables (with same name) and again i have to manually close one of them.

4th problem is speed is there a way to really optimize SQL developer for speed. By that i mean
that finding db objects forks really fast ... switching between tables and stuff like that?
Is there a guide of settings that explains stuff like that?
At each problem i have posted a screen shot for better understanding.
I hope someone will try to help me solve those anoying problems.

Can I speak with someone that has some common sense? (Overage Charged)

My name is Nigel, I have been with Verizon Wireless for about 7 yrs. Last last month I seen that our minute usage was high and we were about to go over our monthly plan. I decided that it would be best to increase our plan to a higher allotment of minutes. Since I have been encouraged to take advantage of the online features that Verizon offers, I decided to change our plan using the website. In doing so, the website provided a "Retro" plan which I thought I selected. Apparently, there was a mistake and the wrong option was selected. Now, Verizon has charged me $150.00 in overage charges on top of my normal bill, and no one from Verizon seems to understand that I am not a Verizon Technician. Surely it is evident that my intent was obviously clear and that the error is a simple mistake which occurred. I am not sure if I was at fault or Verizon's systems are to blame for this issue, but at a minimum, Verizon should honor my original request and retro the bill thus reducing/removing the overage charges.
As soon as I became aware of this issue I called Customer Service. As of now, I have spent over 3hrs on the phone explaining the situation to different supervisors, and I have even requested to speak to their higher-ups. Currently, I have waited for 72 hours without a returned call. I have yet to resolve this issue.
I am considering changing phone carriers, but now I have a penalty if I leave, what is the fair thing to do? Why won't someone with common business sense call me back? This company is Mickey Mouse!
Please have Ivan Seidenberg or the current CDO call me on the 8164 number.

The fundamental business practice for a telecommunication vender is to recognize and acknowledge system related errors. In this case, Verizon is liabile for systems errors that disadvantages it customers. After speaking with several Verizon employees, including supervisors, the systematic flaw inherent with their web based services and its possible error ratio has not been acknowledged. Furthermore, nothing is absolute and it is possible that this error was not cause due to any fault of my own. Thus, Verizon should understand their accountability in the matter. I guarantee that Ivan Seidenberg is interested in learning about this matter which could turn into a potential turn class-action lawsuit.

How to create global toolbar for some common operation like add, delete etc

I want to create one global toolbar which contains buttons for common operations such as add, delete, modify etc.
I have one globl .jspx page and in its center facet, I am loading my each screen's .jsff page.
Now I want to create global toolbar on my .jspx page and when I click on toolbar's add button at that time it should call, currently loaded .jsff (loaded in center facet of .jspx page) backing bean's add method.
How can I get the instance of currently loaded .jsff backing bean in my toolbar's backing bean and also I need it with its current state( means whatever UI components have values I should be able to get it in my instance).

Hi,
since page templates don't support method expression arguments there are two options I can imagine
- define a contract between the toolbar buttons and the availability of a managed bean available for the consumer page. If for example each page has a managed bean like <viewId>_toolbar then the Toolbar could reference exposed methods on this bean (which must be consistent)
- Another option is to have the page passing in the EL string to access the iterator to operate on as an attribute of the template you use. Then you create a ValueExpression from it and call it for the button action events that you point to the managed bean you deploy with the template
