Developing Custom Reports

I am working on creating some custom reports which will run every week [scheduled] and send a link to all stakeholders [Admins / Audit people etc] when they click on the link they will see a dash board kind of display [ like a bar chart or similar] along with associated data and an option to export the data to excel / pdf etc
The reports will be something like how many requests in said period? what applications ? how many approvals and rejections and approver details . Any good starting point you suggest ?

Attachment is missing & it should work. Note by default reports are cached and make sure to reload the data after the change.
Make friend of QueryStat & should help to know the exact problem & passed parameter etc...

    In CIM you can find tables including  "_SMY" in their name in reportsDB are holding the reports Data.
    I would suggest to consult eGain PS or Cisco AS while desiging custom queries to get accurate outputs. As some of column names could be confusing to you without Data model guide.

  • Inhouse developed/customized report

    In my company, our ABAP team has developed some reports.
    In version 4.5,
    : these customised reports are put in the "Report Tree" (via transaction code SERP) by Functional Team. Functional Team organized the report structure.
    : Security Team simply grant access - only Roles with access to the Report Program can execute the reports.
    : Everybody call the same transaction to bring up the "Report Tree", having the same(one and only one view) of the "Report Tree"
    In version 4.7, SAP no longer support the "Report Tree", we are advised to replace the "Report Tree" by "Area Menu".
    When there is a new report,
    : Functional Team will add the report to the required node in the "Area Menu" (via transaction code SE43N).
    : Security Team has to look up which Roles got impacted, modify the "User Menu" of each impacted Role(via transaction code PFCG).
    : Security Team has to make sure the new report is added to the required node in the Area Menu.
    : As the result, there are a lot of inconsistency between the look and feel of Structure of the Report if Security Team forgot to add the report to one Role, if Security Team add the new report to node A in the User Menu for Role A but add it to Node B for Role B...
    Would you mind share how you organize the in-house developed reports? Are you using "Area Menu" ? Do you have the same issues I have ? Any method to streamline  and improve the consistency of the User Menu are welcomed .

    Please find the logic below & try it at your system-
    Here cost center group is not possible (also i not checked it so do it on your own simultaneously i am trying the same).
    Use Table BSEG-> in bseg give the cost center-> with the help of cost center find the account number (field HKONT)-> take this GL account number & got to table COEP-> in this give the GL account number at field 'offsetting account' (field GKONT) & you will get the line item.

    The developers on our project are debating the best way to develop custom reports and make them available on the portal.  Of these options that we can think of, can you give any pros & cons, or experiences, or other options?

    - WebDynpro for Abap
    - WebDynpro for Abap using ALV
    - Adobe forms
    Does a "Best Practices" document or blog exist on this topic?

    You can develop Custome Report   , but for that 
    you will require  help from your Functional Team  , which will guide you thorug data selection  and processing
    i.e from which table data to be taken what to process .
      in that Report you can  display all details  which you reqired and also add one check box  in alv grid   in order to  select order no  .
      also take one button  on display Grid menu   using PF-status  .
      You have to  go through it step by step .

  • Font issue in Custom Reports in oracle Apps R12.1.1

    Hi Friends,
    I am using Oracle Apps R12.1.1. Vision Instance.
    i develop custom report (using 10g DS ) and i used Ariel a font and i deployed custom report.it works fine
    The same report i opened in report builder and add a new parameter and used the same font Ariel and saved and then deployed but the concuurent report is showing all the columns in symbol(western) font not in arial font.
    what could be the issue? the first report shows proper font.Please let me kno the fix

    yes i have used template.fmb only , and am using FND_KEY_FLEX.DEFINE as i mentioned earlier ,
    i have not given any where clause -- should we give any where clause to retrieve the data into the combinations(LOV)?It depends on what values you want to retrieve.
    i mean my requirement is if i give % and press tab all the valid combinations should be displayed.
    its showing no entries found.Did you review 420787.1 referenced above?

    Hi I wonder if anyone can help.
    Using the custom properties and query expression section in LMS Prime 4.1 I would like to create a report that checks the movement of end nodes.
    For example I need to know if PC A on switch A has moved to switch B in the last month. I need to try and track the (unauthorised) movement of PCs on my network?
    Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong field?
    Any help in creating this report would be apprecaited.

    Ciscoworks has its own custom properitary database.  You can create an ODBC connection to the data base and use excel, access, or sql management studio to create and develop custom reports.

    Hi,
    You may or may not need to "register" the workflow - it depends on the changes that you made and which Item Type you modified. Some applications are essentially hard-coded to use a specific item type and process, some hard-coded to use an item type but you can configure the process to use, and some allow you to specify which item type and which process to use.
    Without knowing exactly what you have done, though, there is no specific advice that anyone can give you here on what you need to do, apart from to ensure that you have saved the new definition to the database.

    Hi,
    The custom report that you develop will only be able to provide information that is accessible in the Integration Engine. i.e. say there is a message which has passed through IE but failed in the adapter, then as your program will extract the details from IE, you will get a success in the report where as it is actually failed in the AE. Hence i am not sure if there is a way to get the details that you want. However you can get the duration of execution and other details from Performance monitoring in XI. Not sure if this helps but i would suggest you have a look at that and check if it helps in anyway.

    I try to do custom reports for our development team and I would have translated ones, like standards does.
    Does anyone have any informations on how to do that ?
    I tried with xliff file in the same directory of my custom xml but without any result.
    Has anyone new about XML schemas or DTD for customization of SQL Developer. In 2.1EA2 I haven't found anything related to this topic. Is it still maintained for the final 2.1 release ?

    I can't duplicate this here. Using RC1 against my EA2 t test repository works fine. Looking at the code, that message should only appear if either the Oracle version is less than "10" or some error occurs while trying to figure that out. I assume you are running something greater than version 10 or EA2 should/would not have worked. Can you let me know which Oracle and Java versions you are running with?

    When a user submits an ID they have to choose who sold the product from the sold by field.This has to be chosen correctly otherwise there will be issues in sales and commission process.I need to develop a report to detect immediately when an Id is created which seems to be suspect.A suspect ID is one in which a salesperson was chosen on a customer who is not assigned to that sales person territory
    for example: if danny is in Kathy territory is assigned to a customer in Texas which is Larry territory.

    You ask for help, yet all you give is conceptual data. How do you expect help on writing the report?
    Q) What defines "territory"? Is it a flag? Zip code? City?
    Here is an answer based on a lot of assumptions:
    I would have to assume that territory is defined by something like city, state, or zip code. If so, you could start with this:
    When a customer submits an ID, along with who he/she selects as a salesperson -- I assume this is a drop down box to eliminate multiple entries of the same person due to variations in spelling -- thep person's address, city, state and zip are included as well. Let's assume that territory is defined by zip code. With the salesperson's name and the zip of the customer captured, you have the basis for comparison.
    Based on the table of all your salespeople and their territory (zip code in my assumption), you can create a report that contains a concatenated field of salesperson||zip code. This will produce a report with all possible combinations of salesperson and territory. This report will be your sub-query.
    Now you have your main query based on the customer activity table and you create a concatenated field of salesperson (chosen-by-customer)||zip code (of the customer). You will put a filter on this concatenated column and have it based on the results of another request (your sub-query) with the operand "not equal to/not in."
    If any record in the main query does not match an entry from the sub-query, that record will display. It will be a report that contains customers who chose a sales person who doesn't have that territory.
    That's how you build your report.
