Dictation + Word: how to prevent capitalising the first word of every phrase?

The dictation thing is great, I think it works slightly better in Yosemite, and I find it very useful. For instance, I'm using it to dictate this post. The only problem is that in MS Word, if I'm dictating a long sentence and I happen to pause for breath, or to think for a second, when I start talking again, Dictation restarts typing with a capital letter because it thinks I'm starting a new sentence.
This is turning out to be a real PITA. Does anyone have a fix?

I have this same issue. I have over 100 email addresses that I need to add to a group. The issue is not making the group, it's getting the email addresses from Mail to Contacts.
Dragging the email addresses does nothing. You can copy the addresses, but there's nowhere to put them. You can make a VCF for an email address, but then you have to find all of them to add them to the group. How do you automate this?!
I'm astounded that there's so little support for such a common issue for which people have been asking for years.

You noticed the first one yourself: the Found item list seems to randomly jump around the document -- I believe you are correct in your observation it may be due to the object construction order. That tells me, by the way, something about your lot numbers that tou didn't mention: your text is not one continuous long threaded story, but it's all or partially in disconnected etxt frames. The Found list does return everything inside a single story in the correct order, but it goes over each separate story in the order they were constructed.
The only solution is to gather all of your lot numbers, *re-sort* them according to the page number they appear on (and some sort of Worst Case Scenario is when you might have more than one lot number frame per page; in that case you also need to sort by textframe, top to bottom -- yet even worse is if you also may have these textframes side by side!).
Only then you have a reliable counting order.
This isn't too bad. We can just extend the method I offered for sorting top-to-bottom/left-to-right in Re: Working around the frame selection order issue in CS 4 and make it also include page numbers:

As for actually implementing the above I cannot be of any help with Applescript.
Once we're dealing with sorting I think you're much better off in Javascript anyhow.

I myself think that (for instance) "A tribe called Quest" should be sorted under "A", not "T".
Now I can edit the sort options manually per track and/or per selection, but I would really like to just kill this "iTunes-knows-how-you-should-sort"-feature in iTunes.

Here is a modified version of one of Doug's Scripts. My modification was to add Sort Name to the list of tags that could be changed. I tried it on a single track and it worked. I recommend backing up your library first. Select the tracks you want to change (or all tracks) and run the script from the Applescript Editor. If it works as intended, save it so you can apply it to newly imported tracks. And, yes, I know this isn't the exact answer to your question, you want to change a preference setting in iTunes (if there is such a setting).

something to look forward to then, because we get used not to use our shift button any more, since iPhone and iPad do it for us. entourage and other ms stuff do it. pages does it too now (put it on in the auto-correct in preferences). bizarre however some loose the capitalization when you copy the text. pages to stickies or mail does not. that's good !

IO am not able to capitalise the first letter automatically in documents i am creating, it seams that pages is getting wors every time the new update comes out.

I agree, sharing options taken out, no capitalisation, sharing only link, how can i do it for those that uses microsoft, it was so easy earlier. That's strange. What keyboard language are you using in iPad, maybe that effects it? Settings >> Keyboard >> International Keyboard
Other than that try a reboot - Press and Hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple symbol appears, ignore the red slider. That usually resets the settings to default.

I have found the code below in PHP but it keeps finding an error on the WHILE line:

Making the first letter of every word a capital

hello CF oracles
could you guys please advise me the best way to make the
first letter in every word of a string a capital letter. (and make
all the other letters lower case).
eg. convert "the quick brown fox" into "The Quick Brown Fox"
or convert "THE QUICK BROWN FOX" into "The Quick Brown Fox"
I am taking form data and inserting it into my table, so i

i found a "UDF" on CFLIb.org that proports to do this, but i
don't know how to set up a UDF, are there other ways or is this
considered the best approach.

HI, the new pages doesn't have the option to capitalise the first letter of sentences.
in preferences, it doesnt have the option to go to autocorrection anymore and i wanted
to know if you could turn on the capitalization for the first letters of a sentence?/

Take the length of the first word, plus one for the length of the space, that's how many characters to remove. Take the substring of the original string from the end of the removed part to the end of the whole string. Look up the String methods length(), and substring().
