Diff bet Base Unit and Order Unit

Hi All,
I was going through the table MARA. I found tht there are two columns named 'Base Unit' n 'Order Unit'. I found interestingly that for couple of materials the units are diff in both coloumns (e.g: For a material Base Unit is EA but the Order unit is in KG). What is the diff bet Base unit and Order unit?
Please inform how is it possible to have two diff units for a single material??
Thanks in Adv.

Base Unit of measure is generally the smallest unit that can be used for a material.
But a company may never issue orders in this base unit.
So in the material master, order unit can be configured which may be separate then Base unit.
As a result orders will always will be placed in this unit.
For ex:
Base unit is set an Inch but the company always issues material always in foot.
Therefore in the material master Base unit of measure is set to Inch and Order Unit of measure is set to Foot

    Hi,
In SRM there are different Partner functions like REQUESTER, GOODS RECIPIENT, VENDOR ,LOCATION.
All the org units or users in SRM will have a unique identification number called Business Partner Number maintained in table BUT000.
The users can have differnt partner functions in differnt documents and accordingly mainatained in table CRMD_PARTNER.
Hope this will give you some infomation.

  • What is the diff bet CCM catalog and MDM catalog?

    Hi Friends
What is the diff bet CCM catalog and MDM catalog?
    Thanks & Regards
    Kanni

    Hello,
CCM & SRM-MDM are SAP Catalog Content Management solutions.
In basic terms, MDM is latest solution & will be replacing CCM. All new features like service hierarchies are included in MDM 3.0.
CCM: upload, manage, and search in procurement catalogs.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ccm20/helpdata/en/index.htm
MDM: Search, compare, and procure products from suppliers.
    It provides:
Catalog content management functions, such as the import of catalog structures or data, the transfer of catalog items to a procurement application, and search functions
    Procurement catalogs
Supplier catalogs in a Web-based environment
The SRM-MDM Catalog is based on functions provided by SAP NetWeaver Master Data Management (SAP NetWeaver MDM) and bundles together in one specific application those SAP NetWeaver MDM functions required for catalog content management.

  • Diff bet central processing and local operations in decentralized WMS

    Hi Gurus,
Will any one give clear picture about exact diff between central processing and local operations in the functionality and configuration part, which comes under decentralized WM Integration.
mail me  any doc or pdf,,to [email protected]
SPRO, path Le -> Decentralized WMS Integration -> Central processing, local Operations.
    Full points for useful answer
    Regards,
    Venkat

    Hello Venkatesh,
Let me try to explain in simple words.
In decentralized scenario you will be using two different system
    1. Central system
    2. Decentral system (WMS system and it can be any application i.e. SAP or other WMS application) in which you will carry out WH transactions.
Now when you have SAP system as Central system at that time you will make settings in "Central Processing"
When you are using your SAP system as Decentral system (which is linked to other Central system) at that time you will make settings in "Local Operations"
    Hope this helps.

  • Diff  bet Adobe forms and smart forms?

    Hi Friends
What is the diff between Adobe forms and Smart Forms
    Thanks & Regards
    Kanni

    Hello,
    Smartform:
To create and maintain forms for mass printing in SAP systems. Besides using the printer for standard output you can also select the Internet (by using a generated HTML output), a fax, or e-mail as the output medium. Smart Forms allows you to execute simple modifications to the form and in the form logic by using simple graphical tools

    Adobe Form:
Interactive forms in PDF format that allow users to fill out the form on the screen and save their entries in XML format in the form. When the SAP system receives the PDF form, it extracts the data saved in the form, and can process it further.

  • Diff bet multi user and single user installation

    Hi,
what is the diff betweeen single user and multi user installation, please let me know advantages and disadvantages also .
    Regards

    Hi,
what is the diff betweeen single user and multi user installationSingle user installation is having one user who owns all the application/database tier files. When you do an installation, you run RapidWiz as this user.
Multi-user installation is having two different users (applmgr user who owns the application tier files, and oracle user who owns the database tier files). When you do the installation, you run RapidWiz as root user.
On Windows, you cannot have multi-user installation. So, the above is valid on Unix/Linux.
More details can be found in the Concept manual --> http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/applications.html
please let me know advantages and disadvantages also .I always prefer multi-user installation as you just source the application/env file in the user's profile (in the applmgr/oracle profile) and the file is sourced once you login as that user. For single user installation, you will have to be sure that you source the proper env file manually each time you want to switch between the application and the database (just imagine if you try to shutdown/startup the database after sourcing the application env file, or trying to use any database executable file like export/import/sqlplus ..etc, you will end up using the application tier executable files).

  • Diff bet credit memo and credit memo request

    Hi
Can any one tell the difference between Credit Memo and Credit Memo Request
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
Below is the information on crdit memo request.
Definition: A credit memo request is a sales document used in complaints processing to request credit for a customer.
Use: If the price calculated for the customer was too high (for example, with the wrong scaled prices or because a discount was forgotten), you can create a credit memo request. The credit memo request can be automatically blocked for checking. Once it has been approved, you can remove the block. The system uses the credit memo request to create a credit memo.
Structure: A credit memo request is another type of sales document like a standard order. For more information on sales documents, see Working with Sales Documents.A credit memo request starts the billing process.
    =============================================
Below mentioned is the information on Credit Memo.
Definition: The term credit memo always refers to a credit memo from the vendor. Therefore, posting a credit memo always leads to a debit posting on the vendor account.
Use: As in the case of invoices, credit memos refer to purchase orders or goods receipts. They are used to correct the purchase order history if the quantity invoiced was too high, for example, if an invoice was too high or if part of the quantity was returned.
When you post a credit memo, the total quantity in the purchase order history is reduced by the credit memo quantity.
If you do not want the total quantity invoiced to be reduced, you must post the credit memo as a subsequent credit.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if you need more information and please assign points.
    Rgds

  • Diff bet ween forward() and senRedirect()

    hi,
can any body breifly explain about the diff between forward() and sendRedirect() methods in wich cases we use these methods..
    regards,
    sampath

    Of course!
forward() is processed in the server side. It's almost the same as include(), but without returning to the caller servlet. The webserver just process the forwarded jsp/servlet.
When using sendRedirect(), the "forward" is performed by the HTTP client. The server sends a "Redirect" response with the "new" URL, and then the browser calls that URL. In the first case (with forward), the client doesn't get involved.

  • Diff. bet. xsl template and rtf template!

    Hi,
I need to know the difference between xsl template and rtf template.
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    Vishnu

    Hi,
    My 2 cents:
You can easily customize a new infoobject created from a template.
An IO created as a reference to the other IO is not customizable at all. It has no its own properties and master data. It uses the referenced infoobject's properties and master data. It means that you cannot even load master data for this new referenced IO.
    Best regards,

  • Diff bet invoice date and Invoices list date

    Hello Experts.
    Good Morning to all.
    1) what is the difference between invoice date and invoicing list dates, please telltheir signigficance and  why they needed in customer master billing tab.
2)what is the use of the field Payment guar proced field.what actully is its purpose.
3)Subsequent invoice processing:- It indicates if the invoices for manual
post processing should be printed out.If the business wants to post invoices manually(not
by system automatically) that invoice can be printed out.
In the above sentence what does manual posting means and what is automatic posting means?
And tell me is there will be any need for this field in the real time , if so , then in which case?
Thank you for all the replies..

    Dear SD Beginner,
These fields will be used to assign the calendars that determines the schedule of billing dates and invoice list for the customer.
    Invoice dates (calendar identification)
Identifies the calendar that determines the schedule of billing dates for the customer.
    Use
If, for example, a customer wants to consolidate the invoices you send out, you can predefine the billing schedule in a calendar in the system. During billing, the system automatically proposes the appropriate billing date from the calendar.
    Procedure
The system proposes the billing schedule from the customer master record of the payer. You can change the value manually in the sales document.
    Invoice list Dates (calendar identification)
Identifies the customer's factory calendar that is used during the processing of invoice lists.
    Use
An invoice list is a list of invoices (single or collective) that you create for the customer either periodically or on predefined dates. The periods and dates are defined in the customer's factory calendar. Typically, the recipient of an invoice list takes on the responsibility for collecting payments from numerous individual customers and receives a factoring or del credere discount for the service.
    Procedure
If you want to create invoice lists for the customer, you must enter an identifier for a predefined factory calendar.
    Requirements
You must first define a factory calendar for the customer either in Customizing for Sales or as part of the master data for Sales (Menu path: Logistics -> Sales & distribution -> Master data -> Others -> Billing schedules).
I hope this will help you,
    Regards,
    Murali.

  • OPUK - Define Field Selection for WBS - diff bet. Modified and Influence

    Hi All,
Kindly advise what is the difference between influencing and modifield field's for 'Project Systems > Structures > Operative Structures > Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) > Define Field Selection for Work Breakdown Structures (OPUK),
    Thanks!
    Regards,
    Vivian

modified field is the field on which the impact is registered i.e hide, mandatoru etc
Influence is the field that is the reason why the modified field needs to be changed
for example if you have two project profiles
then for one project profiel you can have say the resp cost centre mandatory and for the other you can have the resp cost centre hidden
In this example the project profile is the influencing field and resp cost centre is the modified field

ESSCMD is the original command line interface for administration commands you would use with ESSBASE.
MAXL is the new version of the command line interface or data definition language that is more language driven and is what the new version releases can use to replace or even coexist with ESSCMD.
