Difference between checkbox field 'Primary Contact' and 'Primary"

Guys,
Both these fields are available in the Contacts related section of Accounts. The 'Primary Contact' field for a contact is checked when I select that contact in the Account's 'Primary Contact' field.
- But what about the 'Primary' field? How does it get checked?
- There is a 'primary' field available in Contacts field setup .What is its purpose? Its setting cannot be changed(fixed -read only).
I observed that whenever I add a contact to the Account from the account's related information section, the 'primary' field is checked in the related section, but when I add the 'Primary' field on Contacts page layout, it is never checked .
- I need to understand this as we will need this functionality of being able to see which contact is primary from the contact page.
Thanks in Advance.

The first contact added to an accout thru the UI or import will have the "Primary Contact" checkbox checked. Like you I do not understand the "Primary" checkbox field and I would recommend that you ignore it.

  • Difference between the Field Group  and Internal Table.

    Hi all,
Can anybody tell me the difference between the Field group and Internal table and when they will used?
    Thanks,
    Sriram.

    Hi
Internal Tables: They are used to store record type data in tabular form temporarily in ABAP programming. Or we can say, it stores multiple lines of records for temporary use in ABAP programming.
A field group is a user-defined grouping of characteristics and basic key figures from the EC-EIS or EC-BP field catalog.
    Use
The field catalog contains the fields that are used in the aspects. As the number of fields grows, the field catalog becomes very large and unclear. To simplify maintenance of the aspects, you can group fields in a field group. You can group the fields as you wish, for example, by subject area or responsibility area. A field may be included in several field groups.
When maintaining the data structure of an aspect, you can select the field group that contains the relevant characteristics and basic key figures. This way you limit the number of fields offered.

  • Difference between Information Field and Application Field

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me the difference between information field and application field in ucm?
    Thanks

Information fields are metadata fields that describe the content - by default they will appear on the interface and be searchable etc.
Application fields are a special sort of meta field normally used behind the scenes to help with the logic of forms/templates. Application fields do not normally appear on the interface and are not searchable.
More simply put if you just want to add content metadata just use Information Fields

    Shortly:
Append structures are used for enhancements that are not included in the standard. An append structure is a structure that is assigned to exactly one table or structure. There can be more than one append structure for a table or structure.

  • Difference between Reporting Services Sharepoint Mode and Reporting Services Add In for Sharepoint 2013

Hi, We are building company site with Sharepoint 2013 Enterprise Edition and were wondering what is the difference between Reporting Services Sharepoint Mode and Reporting Services Add In for Sharepoint 2013? What are the roles/purposes of each one? What
happens if only Reporting Services Sharepoint Mode  installed or vise versa.
    Thank you in advance

Reporting Services in SharePoint mode is a service for displaying, managing, and creating SSRS reports within SharePoint. The addin is a pre-req for SharePoint that is used to display reports and is required for Reporting Services in Native or SharePoint
mode, but does not by itself do anything.

  • What are the differences between Turn in Final Timesheet and the other option: Send Progress for Selected Tasks?

    Hello,
The resource filled his/her timesheet in PWA.
    Now :
What are the differences between Turn in Final Timesheet
and the other option: Send Progress for Selected Tasks?
    Thanks

You are partially correct and partially wrong.
    Turn
    in Final Timesheet sends
the timesheet to the Timesheet Manager for Approval
but task update always goes to Status manger of the task. Taks manager you can see in MPP(insert status manager field then check)
    Yes
after approval progress will be available in MPP as well as in Projectweb app as % complete .
    Send
    Progress for Selected Tasks
Send progress of selected task to status manager after approval update will be available in both MPP and Projectweb
    app as % complete.
    In Send
    Progress for Selected Tasks Timesheet
Manager doesn't receive anything in his Approval center
because all the update directly go to Status manager Approval center.
    Here you have to understand
that there are two role Timesheet Manager(for timesheet approval) and Status manager(for task
    actual approval)

  • Counter KF with 1 & 0 and difference between data type NUMBER (DEC) and INTEGER (INT4)

    Hi,
I need to create a counter kf which should populate 1 and 0 to this counter field. Please let me know is there any difference between data type
    NUMBER (DEC) and INTEGER (INT4).
    Please suggest.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pavan kumar

    Hi Pavan,
The basic difference between Number(DEC) and INT4 is its internal storage in system.
For Number (DEC) - Value internally stored as packed number with 3 decimal places whereas INT 4 as 4 byte integer without decimal places.
For counter KF, you can go for INT 4.
    Hope this helps.

  • Difference between fully-specified data types. and generic types

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me the difference between fully-specified data types and generic types.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    P.S.

    HI
    Generic table types
    INDEX TABLE
For creating a generic table type with index access.
    ANY TABLE
For creating a fully-generic table type.
Data types defined using generic types can currently only be used for field symbols and for interface parameters in procedures . The generic type INDEX TABLEincludes standard tables and sorted tables. These are the two table types for which index access is allowed. You cannot pass hashed tables to field symbols or interface parameters defined in this way. The generic type ANY TABLE can represent any table. You can pass tables of all three types to field symbols and interface parameters defined in this way. However, these field symbols and parameters will then only allow operations that are possible for all tables, that is, index operations are not allowed.
    Fully-Specified Table Types
    STANDARD TABLE or TABLE
    For creating standard tables.
    SORTED TABLE
    For creating sorted tables.
    HASHED TABLE
    For creating hashed tables.
Fully-specified table types determine how the system will access the entries in the table in key operations. It uses a linear search for standard tables, a binary search for sorted tables, and a search using a hash algorithm for hashed tables.

    Hi;
But, to be specific i need to know the functionality difference between these releases for Financial modules. As I said AFAIK there are no fuc. difference between 12.04 and 12.0.6.
Lets say, some major/minor functionality has been added to modules like AP, GL, CM. which we need to take care while migrating the objects. When you apply 12.0.6 patch it could be change some field in forms, its mean if you have custom code than some field can be add or remove wiht new patches and your custom related object can be fail.

  • HT1384 Is there a difference between an IPod USB cord and an IPhone USB cord?

Is there a difference between an IPod USB cord and an IPhone USB cord?

Guy would this be of any help:
To start up your computer in Apple Hardware Test:
Press the power button to turn on your computer.
Press and hold the D key before the gray startup screen appears. If Apple Hardware Test does not start up, see the Additional Information section at the end of this article.
Note: Some Macintosh computers that shipped with OS X Lion support the use of Apple Hardware Test over the Internet. These computers will start up to an Internet-based version of AHT if the hard drive does not contain AHT.  An Internet-enabled connection via Ethernet or Wi-Fi is required to use this feature.
It takes a minute or so for Apple Hardware Test to start up and inspect your hardware configuration. While this is taking place, an icon appears on the screen:
When the process is complete, select your language and click the right arrow. If you aren't using a mouse, you can use the up and down arrows to select a language and then press the Return key.
The Apple Hardware Test console appears. You can choose which sort of test or tests to perform:
To perform all of the basic tests, click the Test button or press the "T" key or the Return key.
To perform a more thorough diagnostic test, select the "Perform extended testing" checkbox under the Test button before you click the Test button.
Your test results will appear in the window in the bottom-right of the console.
To exit AHT, click Restart or Shut Down at the bottom of the window.

  • What is the difference between MOVE var1 TO var2 and var2 = var1? Help!

    Hi Experts,
What is the difference between MOVE var1 TO var2 and var2 = var1?
    Thanks
    Gopal

    Gopal,
pls. look into it.Good explanation on you requirement.
To assign the value of a data object <f1> to a variable <f2>, use the following statement:
    MOVE <f1> TO <f2>.
    or the equivalent statement
    <f2> = <f1>.
The contents of <f1> remain unchanged. <f1> does not have to be a variable - it can also be a literal, a text symbol, or a constant. You must always specify decimal points with a period (.), regardless of the user’s personal settings.
Multiple value assignments in the form
    <f4> = <f3> = <f2> = <f1>.
are also possible. ABAP processes them from right to left as follows:
    MOVE <f1> TO <f2>.
    MOVE <f2> TO <f3>.
    MOVE <f3> TO <f4>.
In the MOVE statement (or when you assign one value to another with the equal sign), it is not possible to specify the field names dynamically as the contents of other fields. If you need to do this, you must use field symbols .
There are three possible outcomes of assigning <f1> to <f2>:
The data objects <f1> and <f2> are fully compatible, that is, their data types, field length, and number of decimal places are identical. The contents of source field <f1> are transferred byte by byte into the target field <f2> without any further manipulation. The MOVE statement is most efficient when this is the case.
The data objects <f1> and <f2> are incompatible. This is the case, for example, if the two fields have the same type, but different lengths. The contents of the source field <f1> are converted so that they are compatible with the data type of <f2>, and are then transferred. This procedure only works if a conversion rule exists between the data types of <f1> and <f2>. Type conversions make the MOVE statement less efficient. How much less efficient depends on the individual conversion.
The data objects <f1> and <f2> are incompatible, and no conversion is possible. The assignment is not possible. If this can be recognized statically, a syntax error occurs. If it is not recognized before the program is run, a runtime error occurs.
The source and target fields can be of different data types. In contrast to other programming languages, where the assignment between different data types is often restricted to a small number of possible combinations, ABAP provides a wide range of automatic type conversions.
For example, the contents of a source field with an elementary data type can be assigned to a target field with any other data type. The single exception to this rule is that it is not possible to assign values between type D fields and type T fields. ABAP even supports assignments between a structure and an elementary field, or between two structures.
    DATA: T(10) TYPE C,
          NUMBER TYPE P DECIMALS 2,
          COUNT  TYPE I.
    T = 1111.
    MOVE '5.75' TO NUMBER.
    COUNT = NUMBER.
Following these assignments, the fields T, NUMBER, and COUNT have the values ‘1111      ’, 5.75, and 6 respectively. When you assign the number literal 1111 to T, it is converted into a character field with length 10. When you assign NUMBER to COUNT, the decimal number is rounded to an integer (as long as the program attribute Fixed pt. arithmetic has been set).

  • Differences between client copy with sap_all and database copy

What's the difference between client copy with sap_all and doing a database copy.
I know if I do a database copy from Production to our Quality system.
I need to install the license key
restore the production library to the quality library
    Initialize TMS and so on.
I know if I want to copy to our Development system. I would need to run either a remote client copy or and export/import since I cannot do a database copy because I would loose all my other clients in Development.
My question is, if the quality systems and the production systems are on the same support packs, same kernel.
What does a database copy give you (besides being faser) that a remote client copy or export/import of a client copy does.
    Any differences
    Thanks
    Joe

    Hello Joe,
If there is inconsistent Z tables between QAS and PRD, remote client copy could fail, especially when the table on PRD has longer length or more fields than the one on QAS.
Also the source client should has no-activity during the client copy, otherwise the application data could be inconsistent. For example, some material documents are copied, but not the corresponding financial documents. (For PRD client, it could be hours between the times those tables are copied.) For database restore, it is rarely an issue.
    Best regards,
    Victor
