Difference Between Radio Button Group By Index and Key

what is main difference between RadioButtonGroupByIndex and RadioButtonGroupByKey ? And In which situvation we go for RBGBIndex and RBGBKey?

They do not differ from each other when displayed on the screen. However, the data binding model for the two UI elements is compeletely different. Index & Key Binding concepts are very elaborately explained in the following <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/d7/f08841e3af1609e10000000a155106/frameset.htm">SAP Help</a>

  • Difference between ASM Disk Group, ADVM Volume and ACFS File system

Q1. What is the difference between an ASM Disk Group and an ADVM Volume ?
To my mind, an ASM Disk Group is effectively a logical volume for Database files ( including FRA files ).
11gR2 seems to have introduced the concepts of ADVM volumes and ACFS File Systems.
An 11gR2 ASM Disk Group can contain :
    ASM Disks
    ADVM volumes
    ACFS file systems
Q2. ADVM volumes appear to be dynamic volumes.
However is this therefore not effectively layering a logical volume ( the ADVM volume ) beneath an ASM Disk Group ( conceptually a logical volume as well ) ?
Worse still if you have left ASM Disk Group Redundancy to the hardware RAID / SAN level ( as Oracle recommend ), you could effectively have 3 layers of logical disk ? ( ASM on top of ADVM on top of RAID/SAN ) ?
Q3. if it is 2 layers of logical disk ( i.e. ASM on top of ADVM ), what makes this better than 2 layers using a 3rd party volume manager ( eg ASM on top of 3rd party LVM ) - something Oracle encourages against ?
Q4. ACFS File systems, seem to be clustered file systems for non database files including ORACLE_HOMEs, application exe's etc ( but NOT GRID_HOME, OS root, OCR's or Voting disks )
Can you create / modify ACFS file systems using ASM.
The oracle toplogy diagram for ASM in the 11gR2 ASM Admin guide, shows ACFS as part of ASM. I am not sure from this if ACFS is part of ASM or ASM sits on top of ACFS ?
Q5. Connected to Q4. there seems to be a number of different ways, ACFS file systems can be created ? Which of the below are valid methods ?
    through ASM ?
through native OS file system creation ?
    through OEM ?
    through acfsutil ?
    my head is exploding
Any help and clarification greatly appreciated
    Jim

Q1 - ADVM volume is a type of special file created in the ASM DG.  Once created, it creates a block device on the OS itself that can be used just like any other block device.  http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16655_01/server.121/e17612/asmfilesystem.htm#OSTMG30000
Q2 - the asm disk group is a disk group, not really a logical volume.  It combines attributes of both when used for database purposes, as the database and certain other applications know how to talk "ASM" protocol.  However, you won't find any general purpose applications that can do so.  In addition, some customers prefer to deal directly with file systems and volume devices, which ADVM is made to do.  In your way of thinking, you could have 3 layers of logical disk, but each of them provides different attributes and characteristics.  This is not a bad thing though, as each has a slightly different focus - os file system\device, database specific, and storage centric.
Q3 - ADVM is specifically developed to extend the characteristics of ASM for use by general OS applications.  It understands the database performance characteristics and is tuned to work well in that situation.  Because it is developed in house, it takes advantage of the ASM design model.  Additionally, rather than having to contact multiple vendors for support, your support is limited to calling Oracle, a one-stop shop.
Q4 - You can create and modify ACFS file systems using command line tools and ASMCA.  Creating and modifying logical volumes happens through SQL(ASM), asmcmd, and ASMCA.  EM can also be used for both items.  ACFS sits on top of ADVM, which is a file in an ASM disk group.  ACFS is aware of the characteristics of ASM\ADVM volumes, and tunes it's IO to make best use of those characteristics.
    Q5 - several ways:
    1) Connect to ASM with SQL, use 'alter diskgroup add volume' as Mihael points out.  This creates an ADVM volume.  Then, format the volume using 'mkfs' (*nix) or acfsformat (windows).
    2) Use ASMCA - A gui to create a volume and format a file system.  Probably the easiest if your head is exploding.
    3) Use 'asmcmd' to create a volume, and 'mkfs' to format the ACFS file system.
Here is information on ASMCA, with examples:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16655_01/server.121/e17612/asmca_acfs.htm#OSTMG94348

    DropDownByKey
A DropDownByIndex UI element provides the user with a dropdown list box. You cannot select more than one entry from the selection list. The UI element consists of a text field, a button, and a selection list. Any list item already selected is displayed in the text field. When the user chooses the pushbutton, a list of all possible values is displayed.

In radiabutton we can have the only one decision. But
checkbox we can have mulitiple options.
based on the usage we choose these controls.
    for example,
    RadioButton
    Gender - o Male o Female
here we can select only one option
    for example,
    CheckBox
    your Interested Games?
    o cricket o football o valleyball o hockey
here use may have more than option.
    i hope this is enough.
award the point if ans is help full.

  • Difference between the Field Group  and Internal Table.

    Hi all,
Can anybody tell me the difference between the Field group and Internal table and when they will used?
    Thanks,
    Sriram.

    Hi
Internal Tables: They are used to store record type data in tabular form temporarily in ABAP programming. Or we can say, it stores multiple lines of records for temporary use in ABAP programming.
A field group is a user-defined grouping of characteristics and basic key figures from the EC-EIS or EC-BP field catalog.
    Use
The field catalog contains the fields that are used in the aspects. As the number of fields grows, the field catalog becomes very large and unclear. To simplify maintenance of the aspects, you can group fields in a field group. You can group the fields as you wish, for example, by subject area or responsibility area. A field may be included in several field groups.
When maintaining the data structure of an aspect, you can select the field group that contains the relevant characteristics and basic key figures. This way you limit the number of fields offered.

  • Two radio button groups merging into one, and I don't want that. How do I fix it?

I have two sets of radio buttons that I want to be independent of each other. How do I do that?  Just to be clear... I have one set with two buttons.  The second set has six buttons.  They are independent of each other - they just happen to fall in line one right after the other.  LiveCycle keeps putting them together.
I have very limited knowledge and am learning as I go.  Thanks for any help that you can give me.

Select the Radio button that you want to be independent of the other radio buttons, RIGHT click and choose Wrap in New Radio Button Group.
This way it can be selected along with other radio buttons..
One question here. If you want each radio button to be independent of each other, why not change them to Check Boxes instead of Radio Buttons.
    Thanks

  • Difference between the design of clusters PCLx and others like RFBLG etc .

There are a few nagging questions which I was not able to find in the forum hence i have to post a new question.
I am a little confused about the difference between the different clusters .
If i start with RFBLG i.e. the cluster for BSEG BSEC etc ,I can see that the tables which are part of this cluster
can be viewed through different methods like
    1) whr usd list for RFBLG
    2) dd02l table and give the required parameters there
now when I compare this with another so-called cluster PCL1 if find that PCL1 is not recognized as  a cluster
and also I am not able to see the same in dd02l table when i give PCL1 and the tabtype as cluster which I was able to see
for the RFBLG ,there are other tables similar to RFBLG .
    1) SO what is the difference between the RFBLG type of clusters and the PCLx type of cluster
    2) are pclx and rfblg..type of clusters same ?
    3) why does PCL1 shows that it is a transparent table ? where as rfblg shows in a diff way in se11
    4) i know we access data from PCL1 using import and export stmts ,DO OR CAN WE DO THE SAME FOR RFBLG
    5) I found that each and evry cluster table had diff fields ,this was kinda surprising for me as I had been thinking
that all cluster tables need to follow a certain rule ,SO WHO DECIDES THE FIELDS OF A TABLE CLUSTER ?
    6) PCL1 has the index button enabled ,which again I think is not according to the cluster table rules?how?
    7) I understand that we can save data in form of internal tables in the PCL1 cluster ,can we do the same in RFBLG ?
    8) Can I think on lines that PCL1 and RFBLG type of cluster are two totally different types of data dictionary objects
and the usage and implementation of both of them is different and that the design and the BASE of both of such objects
    is different .
I know this is a long list but I am sure that answers to these questions would really require some one who has really really work hard and invested a lot of time in understanding the dictionary system.I am awaiting a few answers ,few hints and a healthy discussion till we get them .
    Thanks ...

    Hello,
    1/
BSEG is a typical Cluster Table.
This means that the physical table BSEG does NOT exist in the database, physical data for BSEG is stored in the database (table) cluster RFBLG.
In ABAP however you can perform selects on BSEG (with all fields from the SAP repository structure, see SE11 on BSEG), during execution the SAP database layer will translate these statements to physical selects in the RFBLG database table, so in ABAP this is transparant.

    2/
PCL1, PCL2, ... are normal SAP transparent tables, however in HR they are often called HR cluster table.
Transparent tables are SAP objects where there is also a database table with the same name that contains the physical data.
However the PCL tables are somewhat different from normal transparent tables (data is compressed, external programs can not interpret the data, ...).
This means that in ABAP you can not use simple SQL statements to access data in PCL tables (because of compressed format).
In stead statements like EXPORT TO DATABASE and IMPORT FROM DATABASE need to be used.

  • How to disable a lead selected item in a radio button group ?

    Hi,
I have a radio button group and there are entries to create radio buttons dynamically. means there is only one radio button group in the UI design and in runtime I will be having two radio buttons (For ex: Yes and No ) . Now If I want to disable either Yes or No radio button, I am unable to do so. because If I disable the radio button group it disables both.  So, I can have lead selected item for ex: Yes which I want to disable. I want to know specifically how this Yes button to be disabled by taking lead selected index item.
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Praveen

Try setting the radio button value of the lead selected button to abap_false/space.

  • Difference between syncing iCal with .me Calendar and publishing my iCal

    Hi everyone,
This is probably kind of simple for most, but I'm actually just learning about iCal and how I can centralize my calendars in iCal on Calendar at .mac (or .me I guess). The Help section doesn't really address the confusion I have. So thanks for any insight you can share.
    1. What is the difference between syncing my iCal with Calendar and publishing my iCal to .me?
    2. I just added a new event to iCal. Then I clicked on a sync button (via the sidebar of my local iDisk). But when I checked Calendar, that new event wasn't there. Does anyone know why and then what to do to make it appear?
    3. When/If I add a new event while I'm at Calendar, how do I make sure it appears on my iCal? Do I follow the same local iDisk sync routine?
    4. Can my 2 friends and I log on to my account at the same time to view my Calendar while we're all on our laptops.
    Thanks a lot you guys.

Ok, I wonder if you could help me with a similar but different problem. I have been using iCal now for awhile but only recently started using Google Calendars (once I found out they could both be synced together). Anyway, I understand how to set up the sync, it's very simple especially following the link that you already provided. But, I have three calendars for personal, school, and work already in iCal that are in the default group that iCal starts with of "calendars".
Anyway, when you create a new account in iCal to set up the syncing, it creates a whole new calendar group. I had never had an "account" before, so all my three main calendars are separate from this new account. Is there anyway to move or duplicate those calendars into my new calendar group so that I can have one flowing set of synced information between google and iCal without manually retyping all of the information myself? I have tried dragging the calendars down into the other group and all you can do is reorder them within the group they're already in. Even a duplication would work, if that is possible (to duplicate a whole calendar).
Any insight from anyone would be incredibly helpful.
    Thanks a ton,
    Zac

  • Creating a radio button group in a column of a table in Web Dynpro

    Hi,
I want to put a radio button group in a column of a table in Webdynpro. I added a column to a web dynpro view and then inserted a tableCellEditor for that column.. But I cannot define it as Radio Button group. I want the user to be able to select 3 statuses using this group.
Does anyone have a solution for this??
    Thanks in advance...
    Nakul

    Hi,
You wont be able create three RB in one cell.
Create as many column as the no of options is.Here it is 3.
Create 4 attributes inside the node , option 1,option 2,option 3 and selectedoption.
Map each RB s keytoSelect to option 1,2,3. Map all the RBs selectedKey atribute to selectedoption.
Now selection for each row will be stored in the selected option.

  • Radio Button group with images stored as BLOB files in database

    Hey all!
I have radio button group, my idea is that radio button's LOV must display images, I mean BLOB files stored in a table.
    How can I do this?

    Hello Ken,
I asked similar question in the past, and I believe the answer is still the same.
Select List as an option of a Radio Group
In your case, I think you can use a select list with added functionality, like "Select List with Branch to Page" or "Select list with Submit", or you can just attach an onChange event (JavaScript) to each select list. The effect should be similar to a radio group – as soon as the user select one item from any of the select lists, you can fire some action, based on the select list value.
    Hope this can help,
    Arie.

  • Calling radio button group by group name in SAP Appbuilder

Hi, I'm new to SAP Appbuilder but I do have some really beginner Javascript knowledge.
I'm trying to create a survey mobile app but I don't seem to be able to get the ID of a radio button based on the radio button group.
This is my logic to try to change the text of a label with the ID of the selected radio button.
This function has been set to the event of all 4 radio buttons that have the same radio button group name, "choices".
    Help needed.
    Regards RotiJohn

First, why do you set the value in wdDoModifyView() and not in a non-static method of the controller?
In your code example you read the value from a node named "AddEmployeeTime" but you set the value on a node named "EmployeeTime". Is that correct?

  • Dynamic creation of Radio Button Group

    Hi,
I need to create a Radio Button Group dynamically and add Radio buttons to it.
I am able to create the Radio buttons dynamically. Could someone help me how to create Radio Button Groups.
I tried creating the Radio Button Group using the following code
                  DATA : lr_radiobuttongrp type REF TO CL_WD_RADIOBUTTON_GROUP_BY_IDX.
                  call method CL_WD_RADIOBUTTON_GROUP_BY_IDX=>NEW_RADIOBUTTON_GROUP_BY_IDX
                  EXPORTING
                    bind_texts = 'test'
                  RECEIVING
                    control = lr_radiobuttongrp.
                  cl_wd_matrix_head_data=>new_matrix_head_data( element = lr_radiobuttongrp ).
                  lr_container->add_child( lr_radiobuttongrp ).
But when I run it I am geting a dump "subnode viewname.ME does not exist".
    Thanks,
    Suvarna.

what is 'test' in bind text parameter
you should provide the name in Capitals along with the node name,
if the node name is TEXTS and the context attribute under this node is TEXT then you have to pass
    TEXTS.TEXT
also provide the VIEW parameter to the call

  • Dynamic radio button group

    Hi ,
Is there any way we can create 'Text' along with radio button groups beside the text 'YES' and 'NO' dynamically in a VIEW through 'ABAP WEBDYNPRO'. Can we create a context node with 'TEXT' attribute.
    Eg : TEXT RADIOBUTTON1 'yes' RADIOBUTTON2 'no'.
    Thanks,
    kumar

    hi,
    check this out.
    method wddomodifyview .
    data : LR_RADIOBUTTON1            type ref to CL_WD_RADIOBUTTON,
    CALL METHOD cl_wd_radiobutton=>new_radiobutton
      EXPORTING
       bind_selected_key   =  '01'
       BIND_TEXT           =  'One'
      receiving
        control             = LR_RADIOBUTTON1.
I think with the above code you will be able to create text along with Radio button.
    Thanx.
