Differences between GL A/C & Financial Statement

Hi all,
We have noted that there are certain differences between the amounts shown in the GL Accounts and the Financial statements.
We have investigated these differences in the depreciation posting and it has revealed that the amount posted in Asset Accounting was slighly lower than that of FI. This difference relates to a transfer from one asset number to another asset number through transaction ABUMN - Enter Asset Transaction : Transfer within Company Code.
Why this difference? Is there some configuration that needs to be done or updated?
Thanks for your help.
Nelmaz

Hi,

  • What is the differences between Legal and Financial Consolidation

    Dear Experts,
Can any body explain me what is the differences between Legal Consolidation and Financial Consolidation.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Srinivasan.

    hi srinivasan.singari
NOT is the same.. legal & management are diferent.
the diference is the master data, while you have for consolidation.
the legal consolidation only take the company code, because the County's legal policies  just is interesting in your company, your statements about your company.
The management consolidation take company but take another master data, usually Cost Center or Bussines Area, your client is interesting in the business´s behavior.
So, if you have a legal consolidation you are ok with the  legal policies, but if you need more detail, you need management legal.
if you want legal and management, you need settings for a parallella consolidation. or take diferents areas for consolidation.
    please check this link: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/7070134c-1b04-2d10-f29d-bbb35abfa119?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true&46870978105886
In master data you define company, if you need management consolidation you should add another master data like cost center or bussines area in the subgroup.

  • What are the differences between delete and truncate statements.

i need few differences between executing both the above statements.like what is the effect they are going to make on the data in the table and regarding the table
    spaces

One of the main diffrence TRUNCATE is DDL while DELETE is DML thats why
you neednt to commit/rollbacked after TRUNCATING table.
If you have master/child table then TRUNCATING master table will not concerned
with child table data ,it will concerned with FK enabled KEY truncate is DDL.
While DML will concerned with detail table data when deleting master table data.

  • Is there a difference between Statement Cache and the statement handle!

    Hello!
The OCI statement cache is !session! wide. When I have a sql statement that was used before, I can use this feature.
But what is the difference between this feature and my statement handle for a certain sql statement that I can store and reuse a second time?
My stored statement handle is already prepared and the placeholders are bound. The second time I only have to copy new values in the memory positions and do an execute and that's all.
    Thank you in advance
    Wolfgang

The underlying optimization is the same. When you re-execute a statement, you are reusing the metadata already available in the statement and the cursor already open on the server. If you know exactly the set of statements that you are going to execute repeatedly, you can maintain the cache on your own. (Yes, you save on doing the Bind/Define calls multiple times).
OCI Statement cache makes it transparent and the application does not need to keep the references/indexes to the relevant statements. Also once a cache size is set, least recently used statements get out of the cache when the cache is full and needs to accommodate more.
To optimize the bind/defines on the statements from the statement cache, you can use this feature:

    Hi;
But, to be specific i need to know the functionality difference between these releases for Financial modules. As I said AFAIK there are no fuc. difference between 12.04 and 12.0.6.
Lets say, some major/minor functionality has been added to modules like AP, GL, CM. which we need to take care while migrating the objects. When you apply 12.0.6 patch it could be change some field in forms, its mean if you have custom code than some field can be add or remove wiht new patches and your custom related object can be fail.
    Please see:
    Upgrade 12.0.4 to 12.0.6
    difference between Patchset 12.0.4 ( R12.IBE.A.4) and  12.0.6 (R12.IBE.A.6)

  • Difference between MERGE and Update/Insert

Can anybody pls tell me what is the difference between MERGE and Update/Insert statements.

    hi vivek,
merge is totally different than normal update and insert.Merge is a combination of update+inserrt.
Merge statment first checks the data in your table, if data is already exists then it will try to update the data otherwise it will go for insertion. In case of normal update/insert it will not check the data directly it does the specified operation.
So based on your requirement you have to select the best option.
    Thanks.

  • Difference between Data and Create data

    Hi ,
Can any one please tell me the difference between CREATE DATA and DATA statement.
What all situations we need to use the create data statement.
    Thanks in advance.
    Joe

    Hi,
here is a quote from ABAP documentation.
Unlike the DATA statement, CREATE DATA creates the data object at execution time. DATA creates declared data objects when the corresponding program unit is loaded.
More info can be found in ABAP documentation. CREATE DATA is usually used in dynamic programming where you work with generic types.
    Cheers

If you look at the table which is output of the given query , there is column called "STATE_ID" It shows the current state ie open or closed or all report.
The column 'PREVIOUS_STATE' shows the state before the current state. .In the table in 2nd row in previous_state column there is state_id = 1 (open)which is the state before 'all report state'

  • What's the difference between "PreparedStatement" and "Statement"?

What's the difference between "PreparedStatement" and "Statement"?
    Which is better??????

Read the docs for the two classes. The differences are apparent there.
Which one is better depends on your needs. I think that constructing and executing a PreparedStatement can be a bit less performant than just a Statement, if you're only executing the query one time. But I don't think that difference will normally be noticable in the context of a given application.
Additionally, if you have to pass any dates or strings to the query, you'll want PreparedStatement's parameters, rather than trying to format and escape things in the query string.

  • Execution time difference between SELECT & UPDATE statement in JDBC Sender.

    Hi Experts,
In my scenario, I have used the JDBC Sender Adapter with the SELECT and UPDATE statement.
Now the problem is in between the execution of Select and update statement, few more entries are coming in the same DB Table.
So result of this is updation take place for those entries which are not even picked up by the select statement.
Can we avoid this execution time difference between the SELECT & UPDATE statemet on JDBC Sender side???
    Thanks & Regards
    Jagesh

    Hi
Use serializable option in additional parameters, now all new entries would also be updated.
