Different comportment JAVA/JSP on Oracle Schema

Hi,
I run on a probably corrupted Oracle Schema a class in two ways: first - directly run it and second - by calling the class through a JSP file (on Apache Tomcat 4.1.18), and I obtain different results (using JDBC ojdbc14.jar both times).
I run the same tests on a good schema and the results are the same.
Do you think I have a really corrupted schema? If not, what can be the problem I encounter?
Thank you

Hi Dinh,
I don't mean to be rude, but let me try and give you an idea of
how your question looks to me, by asking you a question...
I have a java application that is made up of about 150 java
classes. It runs well in Visual J++. Now I am porting it to
JDeveloper and I get a "NullPointerException". How do I fix that?
Hopefully, you get the picture. Personally, I need a lot more
information in order to help you. For starters, the stack trace
from the exception you got, and the code that throws that
exception. Just saying that 9iAS complains about "getContextName"
doesn't help, because there are at least three versions of this
method in the "javax" package hierarchy. Pardon my ignorance, but
which one are you referring to? Perhaps 9iAS is complaining about
the method "setAtribute" because you probably spelled it wrong?
Shouldn't it be "setAttribute"?
I think I speak for the majority when I say, if you want us to
help you, please supply more details.
Thanks,
Avi.

  • Java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: oracle.xml.parser.schema.XSDBuilder.build

    The following code works fine with JDeveloper 10.1.2 with the xmlparserv2.jar file provided with JDeveloper.
    =====
    XSDBuilder schemaBuilder = new XSDBuilder();
    URL xsdURL = new URL(schemaUrl);
    XMLSchema xmlschema = (XMLSchema) schemaBuilder.build(xsdURL);

    However when I try to put this in Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2, I get the following error:
    ====
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: oracle.xml.parser.schema.XSDBuilder.build

    It seems like the oracle version is different in app server 10.1.2.0.2 that that of JDeveloper 10.1.2.
    When we rename the parser, the application works BUT the Oracle Enterprise Manager does not work properly as it depends on the latest version of the parser.
    Please help.

    I am able to reproduce this problem. I have a jar file MyLib.jar which contains a class MyXmlUtils with a method called validate. This JAR file was created in JDeveloper 9.0.5.2.
    Now I create a Test class in JDeveloper 10.1.2 and use the method in the JAR file and it crashes in build method. The error says "NoSuchMethod".
    However if I import MyXmlUtils class in to the Test project, everything works fine.
    What is going on here?

    XMLSchema xmlschema = (XMLSchema) schemaBuilder.build(xsdURL);

    dp.setXMLSchema(xmlschema);

  • How do you join two tables from different Oracle schemas using a subquery

    I am trying to join two tables from different Oracle schemas using a subquery. I can extract data from each of the tables without a problem. However, when I combine the select statements using a subquery I get the Oracle error *'ORA-00936: missing expression'*. Since each SELECT statement executes on its own without error I don't understand what is missing. The result set I am trying to get is to match up the LINE_ID from PDTABLE_12_1 in schema DD_12809 with the MAT_DESCRIPTION from table PDTABLE_201 in schema RA_12809.
    The query is as follows:
    sql = "SELECT [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1].LINE_ID FROM [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1] JOIN " _
    + "(SELECT [RA_12809].[PDTABLE_201].MAT_DESCRIPTION " _
    + "FROM [RA_12809].[PDTABLE_201]) AS FAB " _
    + "ON [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1].PIPING_MATER_CLASS = FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS"
    The format of the query is copied from a SQL programming manual.
    I also tried executing the query using a straight JOIN on the two tables but got the same results. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!
    Edited by: user11338343 on Oct 19, 2009 6:55 AM

    I believe you are receiving the error because you are trying to JOIN on a column that doesn't exist. For example you are trying to join on FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS but that column does not exist in the subquery.
    If you want to do a straight join without a subquery you could do the following
    SELECT  DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1.LINE_ID
    ,       FAB.MAT_DESCRIPTION
    FROM    DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1
    JOIN    RA_12809.PDTABLE_201    AS FAB ON DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1.PIPING_MATER_CLASS = FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS  HTH!

    I found there is leak of memory resource on the Oracle RDBMS host while this problem occurs,the database host has only 512Mb RAM.And I once configred the database to worked on Shared Mode,in this case the database has less chance of memory leak,but the above exception occurs more often.So I have to change the database to work back on Dedicate Mode!It's hard to find any tips on my Exception as mentioned above.
    And I want to know the working principle of servlet on iAS.When invoke a servlet,will the servlet be cached on Memory from the first request,or it will be clear up and re-inload until next request?I just wonder if the iAS server will run out of memory,because I noticed there is a memory configure option in "jser.properties" file.And the exception I encoutered seems to occur at a critical point.

    Thanks but that did help since they are talking about
    JDK1.3. I downloaded J2SDK-Beta 3 it says that you
    don't need to set a class path variable. You need to be careful about how you interpret this statement. The rule is, if your system doesn't have a classpath set, you'll get a default of the current directory (.). If your system does have a classpath setting, then the setting will be used.
    Just because you didn't set your classpath doesn't mean someone or some other application didn't. Make sure that your system doesn't have a classpath setting. If it does, you may need to add the current directory (.) to it.

  • JAVA API of Oracle BPEL, to access the "Task Form"(JSP) of a human task.

    Hi,
    Are there any JAVA API of Oracle BPEL, to access the "Task Form"(JSP) of a human task, to render the task form inside the custom worklist application.
    Thanks,
    Naga

    I guess you mean accessing the task details and the payload from the java API.
    Refer the below blog it will provide you the details

  • I think this goes here, Oracle, Java, JSP and Flex

    Ok so I apologize if this does not belong here....
    I want to connect Flex to a Oracle 10g data base, and I managed to connect Java to the oracle data base, now the middle ware is the jsp file. I need to parse the connection through a jsp file in such that what gets produced when a SQL statement of say SELECT * FROM BLA; is a html page that displays all XML so i can through that through flex and display it in a data grid. everything is ready to go but the jsp part...
    How do i get java to spit out the select statment, or any statement that is through the jsp file?

    Adrienk wrote:

    in such that what gets produced when a SQL statement of say SELECT * FROM BLA; is a html page that displays all XMLWell, then it's not really an HTML page. But you can still use JSP for XML, I believe. But keep in mind that JSP is awful, and you may not even need it.
    so i can through that through flex and display it in a data grid. So basically, you want to create a web service, accessible from your Flex client, that exposes data from that table in XML.
    How do i get java to spit out the select statment, or any statement that is through the jsp file?I suppose you could have a servlet that uses JDBC to query the database, and then forwards to the JSP page to render it.
    But you may not even need JSP for something like this. If it's just a SQL query result set, i.e., basically a grid, the XML may be so simple that the servlet could render it all by itself just fine, maybe by just printing XML code directly, or maybe by making a DOM and serializing it to the servlet's HttpServletResponse output stream.
    There are apparently also taglibs for JSP that can do db queries, but the less you touch JSP the better IMHO.
    The details here would depend on your environment. If you're using an object/relational mapping tool, you wouldn't use JDBC directly. Etc.
    Also I'd advise you to consider caching the rendered XML if the table isn't going to change a lot.

    Olival,
    Is your application using UIX ? Seems like it from the error. The class you are getting the error on
    Erro: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.cabo.ui.jsps.tags.RenderingContextTEI"
    is part of uix2.jar, which is available in JDev environment, but not under standalone
    OC4J. Hence the error.
    -Prasad
    Hi,
    I'm getting this error when trying to run my struts app:
    "500 Internal Server Error
    OracleJSP: oracle.jsp.parse.JspParseException: Nzmero da Linha 1, <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/struts-logic.tld"
    prefix="logic" %>
    Erro: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.cabo.ui.jsps.tags.RenderingContextTEI"
    The error msg is localized to my country (Brazil), so "Nzmero da Linha" translates to "Line Number", and "Erro" means "Error".
    The error comes from the 1st page called by the application (index.jsp), wich uses the struts redirect tag.
    Strange enough, this error only shows on OC4J 9.0.3 stand-alone (got the latest version today from OTN), but when calling from JDeveloper 9.0.3 (production), using the embedded OC4J, everything's ok.
    Has anybody experienced the same error ?
    Tnxs,
    Olival Jr.

  • WCF OracleDB binding and different Oracle schema on different environment

    Hi All,
    I am facing an issue related to WCF OracleDB binding and Oracle schema's. The thing is we have to generate schemas from Oracle Stored Procedures which are in Packages and in a Particular Oracle Schema say ADPPDBO. Now when I generate the schemas from SP
    the Oracle schema name is embedded in the namespace of the generated schema ->
    http://Microsoft.LobServices.OracleDB/2007/03/ADPPDBO/Package/PKG_DP_SCAN_BATCH
    This works fine when running on the DEV environment But what would happen if we have multiple environment and different Oracle schema names on those environment ? Say on QA you could have ADPPDBOQA instead of ADPPDBO. Now your BizTalk schemas have
    been generated using ADPPDBO embedded in the namespace and the solution will fail on other environments. To mitigate this I have used UseSchemaInNamespace property to
    false, this solved my problem partially as this removed ADPPDBO from Schema namespace but its records are still getting generated with ADPPDBO.
    Any suggestions ?
    Regards,
    Rahul Madaan

    Hi All,
    Solved the issue by using custom pipeline component and removing the unwanted Oracle schema name from the namespace. I am receiving the response from SP as an XMLDocument but I could not use untyped message as I have generated .NET classes from the schema's
    generated from Oracle database and I am deserializing the message to particular schema type.
    Morten,
    I agree with you that on each and every environment schema names should be same. Since we are implementing this new feature in our project to interact with Oracle but Oracle DB and schema structure was well defined from years like this only so there was
    no option but to compensate from BizTalk end.
    Also I was not able to figure out how to generate untyped schema from Oracle Schema, any links or blogs for that ?
    Regards,
    Rahul Madaan

  • Oracle Text and Java (jsp)

    Hi,
    I stored files( pdf,word) in blob column. I created index (INSO_FILTER) and i would like to query the files.
    String sword="test";
    String query = "Select COMPID,CREATED,NAME,CVNUMBER from COMPANYCV" + " where contains(CV,' "+sword+" ') > 0 " ;
    System.out.println(query);
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery(query);
    works fine i get the compid,date,number and filename of the stored file in the blob column. This info is displayed als a link(url). ie. <A HREF="ShowCv.jsp?NAME=doc1.pdf...... So when the user clicks on it, the appropriate program opens (word,acrobat reader) and the content of the file is shown.
    But i also want to know how many times the word test" is found in each of the documents? How can i do this in java (jsp)?
    And i want to highlight to word that is searched for in the document? Any help on doing this ( examples)? The doc should open in the browswer( html -version) and words
    should be highlighted.
    plz help!
    ps.
    if i use:
    select score(1),NAME,COMPID from COMPANYCV where contains(CV, 'BLOB',1 ) > 0 order by score(1) desc
    i get:
    100,Test2.doc,4
    39,Test1.doc,5
    the score is 39 with Test1.doc! But the word blob is not present in that document. What does the "score" realy mean?
    thx

    ok so far so good. Here is what i did;
    filter-> html
    I created a table filterresult:
    query_id number
    document clob
    in sql:
    begin
    ctx_doc.filter('cvindex', 30, 'filterresult',0,FALSE);
    end;
    so now the word document with pk=30 is stored in de blob column as html.
    in my jsp i call:
    String sql= "SELECT DOCUMENT FROM FILTERRESULT WHERE QUERY_ID=0";
    //System.out.println(sql);
    rs = stmt.executeQuery(sql);
    while(rs.next()){
    clob=((OracleResultSet)rs).getCLOB(1);
    is=clob.getAsciiStream();
    int pos=0;
    int length=0;
    byte[] b = new byte[clob.getChunkSize()];
    while((length=is.read(b))!= -1){
    pos+=length;
    os.write(b);
    and the word document shows up in html in my browser!
    I created another table:
    table highlightresults(
    query_id number
    offset number
    length number
    highlight->
    in sql:
    begin
    ctx_doc.highlight('cvindex', 30, 'steven','highlightresults');
    end;
    i want to highlight the word "steven" in the word doc with pk=30.
    I got no error on excecuting this, but how do i combine the 2 thins: how can i open the filtered word document (html) with the highlights shown in a color??
    plz help!
    also; can someone give me and exampple on how to call these sql statements, like:"begin
    ctx_doc.highlight('cvindex', 30, 'steven','highlightresults');
    end; " in my JSP (java) page!
    thank you

  • OSB WSDL invocation from java /jsp client!

    Hi ,
    I did a sample work on invoking osb wsdl(based on DB adapter) from a java/jsp application.It worked fine!
    Its a simple select query wth parameter that was configured in my DB adapter.
    Below are the steps I follow -
    a.Created a DB adapter for collective response
    b.created BS out of jca
    c.Generated PS based on above BS.
    d.Performed some xquery tranformation in PS message flow response piepeline.
    e.Exported WSDL and tested it in SOAP UI ,getting the transformed response as required.
    When we generate Java client out of above WSDL in Eclipse ,it generates client for DB data,transformed data fields are not seen -How to obtain transformed data too through Java client?will this work ?
    Is it gud practice to generate java client directly n Eclipse (OEPE) or do we have any other alternative ways to generate Java client out of OSB WSDL?
    Please assist.
    Thanks,
    Ani

  • Java Vector to Oracle type; help?

    I've seen only a few postings on this topic, none of which were answered. So I am thinking perhaps a detailed explanation is required? Or is it just too simple to be beyond boring? I need professional help in any event.
    I have an applet users employ to create a table of values. The data model for the table is, ultimately, a Vector, each element of which is itself a Vector with the following fields (all of which are Strings): symbol, label, description, colour, numpar, parent, parsing, objectid. So, I have a Vector of any length comprised of Vectors of length 8.
    On pressing the "SAVE" button I wish the Vector of Vectors to be sent to my Oracle database. To receive the data I created these types in Oracle:
    TYPE LegendItem IS OBJECT(symbol VARCHAR2(50),
    label VARCHAR2(50),
    descrip VARCHAR2(255),
    colour VARCHAR2(20),
    numpar VARCHAR2(10),
    parent VARCHAR2(10),
    parsing VARCHAR2(625),
    objectid VARCHAR2(10));
    TYPE AppletVector IS TABLE OF LegendItem INDEX BY BINARY_INTEGER;
    The stored procedure that takes the data and uses it to update (about 25) tables in the schema is defined as
    PROCEDURE loadLegend (legendata IN AppletVector,
                   schemeid IN INTEGER,
                   sourceid IN INTEGER,
                   message OUT VARCHAR2)
    (Message is returned as "success" if there are no exceptions, or the exception parameters if they exist.)
    I am trying
    Class.forName ("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
    Connection conx_out = DriverManager.getConnection ("jdbc:oracle:thin:@myserveraddress","username", "password");
    CallableStatement feedOra = conx_out.prepareCall("{ call newLegendData.loadLegend(?,?,?,?) }");
    ArrayDescriptor arrDesc = ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor("AppletVector", conx_out);
    feedOra.setArray(1, new ARRAY(arrDesc, conx_out, legendModel.getDataVector().toArray()));
    feedOra.setString(2, MakeLegend.mapScheme);
    feedOra.setString(3, MakeLegend.mapSource);
    feedOra.registerOutParameter(4, Types.VARCHAR);
    feedOra.execute();which returns
    setArray(int,java.sql.Array) in java.sql.PreparedStatement cannot be applied to (int,oracle.sql.ARRAY)
    feedOra.setArray(1, new ARRAY(arrDesc, conx_out, legendModel.getDataVector().toArray()));
    ^
    cannot resolve symbol
    symbol : method setString (int,int)
    location: interface java.sql.CallableStatement
                   feedOra.setString(2, MakeLegend.mapScheme);
    ^
    cannot resolve symbol
    symbol : method setString (int,int)
    location: interface java.sql.CallableStatement
                   feedOra.setString(3, MakeLegend.mapSource);
    Is this the way to approach the problem? Should I use a different method? How do I make java.sql.Array == oracle.sql.ARRAY?
    Your suggestions are gratefully received.

    Not a problem, the code will below is the basics
    // the vector of vectors you are going to write.
    Vector aVectorOfVectors;
    // create a ByteArrayOutputStream so you can get the data to create an inout stream
    ByteArrayOutputStream aBaos=new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    // make an objectOutputStream to write your searlizable to.
    ObjectOutputStream anOut = new ObjectOutputStream(aBaos);
    // write your vector of vectors
    anOut.writeObject(anObject);
    // get the byte array from the ByteArrayOutputStream
    byte[]aByteArray = aBaos.toByteArray();
    // create the input stream from the byte array
    ByteArrayInputStream aBais = new ByteArrayInputStream(aByteArray);
    // set this as the binary stream for your column.
    insertPreparedStatement.setBinaryStream(aColumn,  aBais, aByteArray.length);when reading the data you basically do the reverse and cast the result
    ObjectInputStream anInputStream = new ObjectInputStream( theResultSet.getBinaryStream(aColumn));
    Vector aVectorOfVectors = (Vector) anInputStream.readObject();

  • How to load a java file into Oracle?

    Hello,
    I have some problem in loading a java file into Oracle 8i. I used "loadjava -user <userName/Password> -resolve <javaClassName>" command.
    JAVA Version used JDK 1.5
    When calling this class file from a trigger gives this error
    ORA-29541: class ANTONY1.DBTrigger could not be resolved.
    Can anyone help me to resolve this problem?

    Hello,
    Which username did you use to load the class, and which user is running the trigger?
    The default resolver searches only the current user's schema and PUBLIC so the java class needs to be loaded into one of these.
    cheers,
    Anthony
