Different resolutions in proyector/iMac, same content?

Hi guys,
Is it possible to have different resolutions in a proyector and your iMac but to show all your work in both displays at the same time?
I want to show how to use a software in the proyector using the highest resolution in my iMac, which is different to the one of the proyector. I can't do it without using the mirror display option, which makes that I have the same resolution of the proyector in my iMac Screen, which supports a higher one. It only works for final powerpoint presentations (?).

instead of using the mirror option use the spanning option but in the displays preferance panel click a drag the dock and the menu bar from the "iMac" display to the "other" display this would make your primary screen the projector.

here i have got a tricky situation on Idoc to File Scenario.
in my interface of an Idoc to file ,there is requirement to create multiple files with different file names but with same content based on one Idoc Segment.
which means there will be one Zsegment with two fields in the idoc,where one field with (content refers to the name which file name should start with .so lets say if this segment is repeated for 3 times then PI should create 3 files in the same directory with same content but with different file names (from the filed).
so here for now iam using one reciever file communication channel.
can any body give me the quick answer.

What do you mean by different names?
when i make proper setting in the Receiver Channel....on how to create the filename (what to append) like add Timestamp, counter, date, messageid.....even in this case you will ahve file with different names and that too from same File channel.
You can perform multi-mapping in XI/ PI and then your File channel will place the files in the target folder with relevant names. You cannot use Dynamic Configuration with Multi-Mapping!
If you intend to use different File channels, then do the configuration as required (normal)...even over here you can follow multi-mapping.
Do not use a BPM!

Why are my HD videos all importing with different resolutions?

Hi, I tried looking through like 10 pages of discussions on here and didn't see anybody else having this problem.
I have a Canon Vixia HF200, I keep the settings on MXP (highest quality 1920 x 1080). Every time I log and transfer my videos they import at different resolutions (everything from the same day will be the same), some of them come in as 1440 x 1080, 720 x 480, etc, when they should all be 1920 x 1080.
So, since some of them ended up being a completely different aspect ratio, I went into Motion>Distort and changed them all to 1920 x 1080, and I thought it was fine, but now I'm noticing that some of the videos look really out of focus (it seems like they get more out of focus every time I open it), so I'm thinking I probably shouldn't have stretched them....
I checked the original videos in the browser and they all say 1920 x 1080 now, when I watch them in the viewer, they actually look like good HD videos, but in the canvas they're out of focus...
I'm also working with multiple sequences, and when I copy videos from one sequence to another, it changes the resolution/aspect ratio/scale again, and becomes more blurry when I try to fix it.
So basically, I have a huge mess. I'm working on editing a documentary that I'm making and now most of the video looks bad and I'm not sure how to change it back. I even tried starting a new project and importing the original videos, but they don't seem to have the original quality.
Anybody know how I can either fix this or somehow replace the clips in the sequence with the originals in the browser to at least get some quality back?
Also, a lot of the time when I render, I come back to the computer and it says something like "Error: Illegal (something) render failed" and completely loses the rendering that it spent a long time doing.

Hi Lisa,
Your 1920x1080 clips most likely import at their normal frame size, and then you placed them in the wrong sequence. Make sure your +File > Easy Setup+ is set to *Apple Intermediate Codec 1920x1080i60* before you create a new sequence.

Managing multiple iOS devices on different Apple accounts from the same iMac

May be a very simple question to answer, but can I manage multiple iOS devices on different Apple accounts from the same iMac?
I ask as whilst I'm totally Mac'd, my partner who has her own Apple account has a Winows laptop and experiences problems updating iOS software on her iPhone 4S and iPad 3 Gen via the laptop. I'm thinking the problems may be overcome if we manage her iOS devices through my iMac.

The specific problem is that whenever she updates to the latsest version of iOS using the latest iTunes for Windows on her PC laptop she seems to lose something in the process. One time she lost all her texts and the other day when updating to 5.1.1 she lost all her reminders. Not the end of the world but frustrating and shouldn't really happen and doesn't happen to me using the iMac and OSX.

I find plenty of articles about homesharing on iTunes between computers, but not between two different user accounts on the same iMac. Any advice or direction to an existing artical is greatly appreciated. I'm knew to the Mac and still have Windows on the brain.

I see the same photos with different resolutions in my iPhoto library

I am trying to organize my photos in the iPhoto library by deleting those are stored twice or more. However in many doubles I found out that some of them exist in my library in different resolutions. My photos are imported either from my camera, or from my iphone, or from my iPad or from the shared photo streams which include photos imported from various apple devices.
What I see for example is some photos taken from an iPhone exist in both 2048x1536 and in 3264x2448 resolution and some others in 1224x1632 and in 1536x2048 (I guess these 2 resolytions are for the vertically taken thotos while the other 2 for orizontical). For iPad photos I see 2056x1536 and 2592x1936 for the same photos. All doubles have different names (eg. IMG_007 and IMG_1056 for the same photo). Furthermore some doubles include info about the camera (eg. iPad back camer 4.28mm f/2.4) and some others don´t (only info about the device eg. iPad).
Why is this mess happening in my library? Apparently I want to keep in my library the photos only in the maximum available resolution for better quality.
In relation to that I have the following questions:
1. When a photo or a video is shared in a photo stream, is its resolution decreased to a lower one?
2. Is there any way to see what the resolution is of the original photo stored in the iPhone or iPad, so that I can compare with the the same ones I have on my computer´s iPhoto library?
3. Is there any way to see the resolution and other info for the Photos in a shared Photo stream which are not yet imported localy on my computer?

I made a test and I confirm what I was suspected at first place.
I uploaded a photo taken from my iPhone to the shared photo stream. Then I imported this photo from the photo stream to my iPhoto library on my Mac. The resolution in which this photo is stored locally is 2048x1536 and its size 961 KB.
Then I sent the same photo from my iPhone via e-mail. I opened the email on my computer and downloaded the photo. Then I imported it to my Mac´s iPhoto library. I checked the info out and the resolution is now 3264x2448 and size 2.2 MB.
Therefore the quality and resolution of the photos that are uploaded to the icloud photo stream is NOT the same as the original one.
I don´t know whether there is somewhre an option to change that, but this is what happens to me right now.

Can you add to the Lightroom an ability to process several raw files with the same content but with different exposure into the single picture?
Base raw files can be given with exposure bracketing during shooting, for example.
The goal - to get maximum details in darks and lights (if we use the "ligths recovery" or "fill lights" we lose the quality because raw file just have no all required information).
The similar (but not the same, only the idea) thing - is High Dynamic Range Photography in Adobe Photoshop

The plugin LR/Enfuse does this already. And of course Photomatix have a plugin available for Lightroom. This essentially amounts to pixel editing, which is beyond the range of Lightroom's metadata editing.

I concluded that iCloud has no problem with identical events seperated by time, so the question becomes what is wrong with your setup as opposed to what is wrong with iCloud.

UILoader issue-different sources, but the same content appears.Why?

It is strange, I have tested a couple times in different ways but can't figure out why this happens. I will try to brake it down to be clear as I can:
I have picked up a uiLoader component, and copy-pasted four times, so now I got five of them in my flash movie. Each got a different source (dresses/dresses1.swf, dresses/dresses2.swf, dresses/dresses3.swf, dresses/dresses4.swf, dresses/dresses5.swf). But When I launch the movie, all the 5 uiLoaders display the same content: dresses/dresses2.swf, and I can't understand why. For a test, I have replaced the .swf file with some jpeg files, and they were ok, but as I put the swf files back they show the same content again.
The sources are ok, they work perfectly separately, so I can't figure out what is the reason why the swf files are loaded incorrectly..

How to implement two different websites with one section that has the same content?

I have two sister websites, each for a separate but related department in a hospital. On each of these websites, I have a main tab called library, which has about 30 pages within it for related healthcare issues. The library is the exact same content on each site, but the main navigation and header for the site is obviously different. I have been upkeeping this identical content on both sites (if something is changed, then I have to do it twice). This isn't efficient and I would like to find a way to combine them somehow. I don't have a ton of experience but I catch on pretty quickly and I basically need ideas for the best way to handle this. I have considered creating a third site, and the library tab on each of the other sites would take you to this new site. I have also wondered if there is a way to embed duplicate content into two separate pages (maybe with an iframe). That way I would update the original file and it would be updated on both sites.
The sites also have different body sizes. One is 960 pixels wide and the other is 690 because it has a sidebar that makes it smaller. How would you all recommend I handle this? I use Dreamweaver CS6 and my pages are all HTML

I looked into Server Side Includes and I think I would like to try it, but I can't seem to get it working. The problem is both of my sites are under a separate domain but hosted the same way I believe. For instance, I have two dreamweaver sites, but when I use my FTP, I have one large folder for the main site, then the sister site is in a folder within the main site folder. Although you can get to the main site using www.ukneurology.com, you can also get to the site using kyneurosurgery.com/neurology/index.html. I think this is what is messing me up because I can't seem to get it to work right.

Safari doesn't show same content on different profiles

My iMac is running on OS X 10.9.4 and Safari's version is 7.0.6.
We all share the same network in our household but different profiles on our iMac.
I have a Fan Page on Facebook that shows all comments on my iMac profile.
But when the other users try to see the same page on their profiles, it shows the page but not the comments.
But they both can see the page and its comments on their cell phones without a problem.
What should I do to force Safari to behave the same way on all 3 profiles?

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

2 ATV's, Same Content Synced, Different GB's Used....Huh?

Title pretty much says it all. I have 2 ATV's, both with exactly the same content on them, the exact same content synced, and, yet the amount of free space is totally different between the two devices...almost by double (or half, however you want to look at it). Can anyone explain? I'm baffled......

How much difference is there in the 'other'. Are you sure that all videos you think are synced are synced and don't simply show up because they are streamed. Do you have any podcasts downloaded to the tv's.

Two SharePoint server Farms using different configuration databases with same content DB's

Hi everyone,
I am having strange problem while cloning the environments for SharePoint 2007 farm. We cloned the WFE and DB servers with different names. When the configuration wizard has run pointing to the new DB server for complete the new FARM, The config is pointed
to the new Database server but the content databases remains same as old. This makes the production and cloned sites pointed to the same content.
How can this be possible to have a SharePoint farms with separate config DB's and same content DB's. Please advise and now the search service in the production is also broken.

This is one reason why you should always use SQL Aliases when configuring SharePoint
Stop the SharePoint Services, you can use Server Manager on the WFE
From the command line
Enter CLICONFG
Highlight TCPIP, Click Enable
Click on the Alias Tab, and Click Add
Click the TCPIP Radio Button
Enter the (Old Database Server Name) in the Server Alias Box
Enter the (Cloned Database Server Name) Server Name in the Server Name Box
Uncheck, Dynamically Assign
Enter Port 1433, and Click OK. Make sure on your new SQL Server that you don't have an inbound rule blocking Port 1433.
On the new Cloned Server WFE start the SharePoint Services
Run IISReset
On The WFE and the App Server. Start the SharePoint Services, you can use Server Manager
I would normally test this by stopping the SQL Service on the Old Server and login to SharePoint on the Cloned Server...

MacBook resolution on 20" iMac?

Is it possible to get a 20" iMac to run at the same display resolution as a 13" MacBook? I know the answer is yes, because you can simply run the 20" iMac at a lower resolution. However, when you do this, everything has a blurry soft look to it.
So my real question is, is there any way to run a 20" iMac at 1280x800, while retaining crisp edges and text?

No. An lcd screen has a fixed pixel density. If you run the monitor at a resolution other than its native resolution then you will get pixelation of the image. A crt monitor can run at different resolutions and maintain crispness because all it has is a phosper tube with no fixed pixels and the electron beam is free to strike it in any supported density of the display.
