Digital Signature Vendors?
Hello,
We are building an application that our sales agents will use to fill in fields that will generate a pdf contract that we need to send to new customers. Has anyone used a digital signature vendor such as DocuSign or EchoSign to handle this process? We could give them the ability to check a box or something stating they agree to the contract, but prefer to have an outside vendor that follows certain compliance protocols to ensure the document will be legally binding upon signature. Both of these vendors have development kits for Java, PHP, C, etc. but would prefer something in straight javascript or easier to incorporate with APEX.
Thanks in advance,
John
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I allready worked on this SAP note.
But there are some configurations like ADS,SSL in Java and ABAP instances.
I did the configuration of ADS,SSL in both the instances.
I followed the blog of Dezso Pap "ADS SSL configuration journal I. / ABAP -> JAVA / 640 - 70x
But when i test the program FP_PDF_TEST_00 i'am getting an error message "SOAP runtime exception."
I feel some problem in SSL certificates.I'am working on it.

Digital Signatures - how to prevent anyone from using my name
I've created a bunch of forms that have digital signatures enabled. When I've created one either with the PKCS or the Windows Certificate, what's to prevent anyone else from just typing my name, email address and Company Name? Yes, I can create one and save it with a password, but anyone can do that. I'm confused how I can ask our users to use digital signatures on internal documents, then have them email to accounting or HR, yet there's nothing to prevent anyone from using anyone else's name (ie how can I prove that it wasn't me that signed it)?
Is there nothing that's tied to Windows ie I can't use my login ID on our domain unless I use my network password? That's really the ONLY way I can prove I'm me.Self-signed digital signatures are precisely that - the person creating them is the only one attesting to the contents, so you can make a perfectly-valid self-signed ID for Canta Claus of you want to. The critical thing to remember is that a self-signed ID will only validate if the recipient has your keyfile to compare it to. On your own machine it will show as valid because the key is present, but if you send the PDF to anyone else it will show as invalid unless you have separately transferred them a copy of your keyfile. It's that second file which tells them the ID is really yours, as they can physically check where it came from (e.g. by phoning you up). The recipient would then have to manually add the keyfile to the trusted list in Acrobat or Adobe Reader, and finally your PDF signature will get the green tick.
Self-signed IDs are find for internal company workflows as everyone can share their keyfiles, and the IT department can manage what's going on. If you're using digital IDs in a public setting you should never use self-signed certificates, instead you should purchase an ID from a Certificate Authority - a company whose IDs are tied to the 'root certificates' embedded in Acrobat and Adobe Reader. The CA will require proof of identity before selling you the cert, and so anyone can verify it's genuine without needing to contact you. CAS-issued certs for signing PDF files are not cheap, there are several vendors out there and I won't comment on which may be better. -
How to verify the digital signatures?
Buyer has to send a certified interactive form to vendor, vendor has to digitally sign the form back. We need to verify the signature of the vendor only then start processing the form. How do I achiev this security.
1) How do I generate buyer certificate and attach to the form.
2) I have created a signature field in the form, after the vendor signs it how do we check whether its the correct signature?
Kindly specify the steps.
Helpful answers will be rewarded.

SAP HR-IN Form 16 Queries , Digital Signatures, SAP ADS
Hi.
I have a couple of queries with regard to Form 16.
1. My firm wants to use digital signature in the Form 16. How to configure the signature part of the Form16 in SAP?
2. Where is the purpose of SAP ADS in digital signature?
3. Do I need to get a new license for using the digital signature feature in form 16?
4. My company is getting the digital signature part done thru a 3rd party. How to upload this digital signature into PC00_M40_F16?
5. What are the relevant SNotes to be installed to use this feature?
Regards
AbrahamHi Abraham,
The workaround software we have used is provided by Ace Technology, they are one of the approved DSC vendors.
This is their contact details:
| Email: [email protected] | website: www.acetechnology.co.in
If you are going for the same vendor, go for a Grade 3 signature, it allows you to do a Mass Digital Signature.
The tech support provided by them was not that great, we eventually figured out how to use thier product, but incase you take the same service I can help you in figuring out how to use the USB token.

How to configure CoSign Electronic Digital Signatures for UCM 11g
Hi everyone,
current I am doing a UCM poc with CoSign Electronic Digital Signature for a customer, this case is that when user approve a check-in PDF document in workflow, the user can use "sign and approve" to invoke the electronic digital signature action.
since ECM 11g is based on weblogic, I configured the keystore for the weblogic as the below steps:
1) use keytool to import a keystrore file just as cosigncert.jks from the cert file which provided by the vendor CoSign.
2) Security Realms->myRealm->Providers->Credential Mapping, create a new provider using "PKI Credential Mapping Provider" and configure the storekey cosigncert.jks for this provider.
3) Security Realms->myRealm->Providers->Authentication, select DefaultIdentityAsserter and add x509
4) configure storekey for AdminServer and UCM managerServer using cosigncert.jks
5) configure SSL for AdminServer and UCM managerServer.
after finishing this steps, access the UCM console to do the approve with siginature. but it always throw "can not find the validate certification path"
does any one know which step missing?
Thanks & Regards

1630 blocks used (approx)Unfortunatly the update server is having some very strange hicups every now and then. I've been able to reproduce this once on a sparc box. What I did was basicly running 'smpatch analyze' for a second time, followed by the regular 'update' command after which things worked out for me.
Some strange things also occur when you sometimes run the 'analyze' command, and then run it again. Sometimes you'll be presented with 2 different lists of available updates. -

Hi,
I need to create local digital signatures for my users. How can I do that using W2k8 Active Directory Certificate Services? We are gonna sign Office 2010 documents.
What company offers cheap digital signatures solutions?
Thanks in advancedConsider the following:
if you use your local CA server to issue digital signature certificates, there is no cost, because you are eligible to issue so many certificates as you need. However, documents signed by these certificates will be considered trusted only within your AD
forest and other machines that explicitly trust your local CA. Any external client will not trust your signatures.
If you want to make your signature trusted outside your network (say, in worldwide), you need to pruchase a certificate from trusted commercial CA (VeriSign, GoDaddy, GlobalSign, StartCom, etc) according to respective vendor price list. In that case you
don't need to have your local CA server, because it is not used. All certificate management is performed by the external CA. A most common scenario is to purchase signing certificate for particular departament principals (head managers) or few certificates
for a whole company (all documents are revised by a responsible person or persons who holds signing certificate and sign them after review).
so, it is not clear from your post what exactly you need.

Folks,
Our company is implementing a new process wherein at the time of shipment, they would like to have the truck driver sign an e-Pad and the signature should be imported onto the bill-of-lading output. We have a customized delivery process and due to the volume of shipments, we do not want the truck drivers to spend anytime like saving the signature image to the desktop and then import into SAP etc.
We want the signature to be imported from the delivery screen (custom developed) onto the bill of lading output at the click of a button. We are using SAP version 4.7 and the e-Pad signature is from interlink electronics, who appear to be naive in SAP. We are open to look at other vendors for e-Pad or e-Signatures.
Hence, please help in the following ASAP:
1. Does SAP 4.7 have any limitations to import digital signatures?
2. Do anyone have any experience with e-Pad with interlink or can suggest any other vendor/product that can be readily used for this purpose?
Thanks and Regards,
RamHi Ram Murthy,
I built a solution with Netweaver 731 SP5. Here is the link http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-47480
I wish I could have helped back in 2008 !
Cheers. -
Dear All,
Can you pls throw some light on how to create DIGITAL SIGNATURE on the Purchase Orders so that it can be sent to vendor immdtly via mail.
Regards
RangHi Ranganath ,
If you wish to use your own texts/mono/signatures when outputting a purchase order, proceed as follows:
1. In the step Adjust Form (Layout Set) for Purchasing Documents, check to see at which points you can store your own texts in the <b>standard form MEDRUCK</b>.
2. Enter the texts in accordance with your requirements using the SAPScript editor. To do so, choose SAPscript Standard Texts.
Assign unique names to your texts (e.g. names containing the key for the purchasing organization).
3. Choose the desired text type (e.g. texts for document item) under Document Printout: Purchase Order.
4. Create a new entry and enter the following data for it:
Print operation (e.g. new printout or printout of changes (change notice))
Purchasing document type and item category
Text object, text ID and the text name
Print sequence in which the text is to be outputted
In the standard system, the purchasing form is called "MEDRUCK". MEDRUCK is a multi-purpose form controlling the output of RFQs, POs, outline agreements, delivery schedules, reminders/urging letters, rejection letters, change notices, and order acknowledgment expediters.
Changing the Purchasing Form
Prerequisites
Before you make any changes to the standard form, you should consider the following.
Change Existing Form or Create New One?
You can either change the standard form or create a new form by copying the standard one.
When you change the standard purchasing form, you must first create a correction number, because changing the standard form represents a customer modification. Thereafter, the system maintains both your changed version and the SAP version of the form.
If you create a new form, you must assign it to the appropriate message type (PO, rejection letter, etc.) before the system can use it for printing.
Its recommend that you always create your own form. This makes it easier to distinguish between your customized form and the standard form provided by SAP.

Integrating Digital Signatures into J2EE Web App
I have a requirement to add digital signature functionality to a J2EE web application. Our customers would like to press a sign button on a web page, be prompted to connect their hardware security token (e.g. USB device or smart card), and the signatures stored inside our system for later verification (e.g. in court).
The main issue I can see is that when using hardware-based tokens the private key can never leave the device, so the device itself does the signing. Whereas our J2EE Web Application has all the code on the app server tier, and the data is located on the database (and in our architecture cannot be exported to client PCs for security reasons).
Does anyone know of any solutions to this kind of requirement? Any vendor toolkits that allow this? From what Ive read from researching this subject the pieces are all there but most web-based security solutions only implement application login authentication of one sort or another.Hi Tony,
As of DIAdem 2012 there is no product feature that makes it easier to create a web front end to DIAdem. You can host DIAdem with a terminal services approach such as Citrix, which will give you all of DIAdem's functionality in a web GUI. You can also host DIAdem on a cloud server if that's where your data is.
On final option is that LabVIEW offers a user programmable web server which can make calls to DIAdem via ActiveX.
