Directing to the application according to the browser

Hi,
I have two applications deployed in Oracle AS wireless 10g under oc4j_wireless container. One deployed application is for PDA browser and another for Web browser. My question is whether Oracle AS wireless is smart enough in direct it to the appropriate application according to the browser? if yes, than how to do it.
If no, than what peace of code in my application i have to write to achieve this.
I am using XHTML MP as a markup language and simple java classes in writing business logic.
Pls help me.
Shrikant

That's "Nope, I don't know how", rather than "Nope, I'm not telling you" by the way. If I knew how, I'd be happy to tell you
By the way, you've got a few unrelated questions live here at the same time. Can I give you some advice? Concentrate on getting one thing working before trying something else. You'll save yourself an enormous amount of time

  • How can I send an image directly from the browser as an attachment, not a link?

    I'm wondering if there's a way-- either via some kind of add-on or a direct FF customization-- to send an image as an attachment rather than as a link? either right-clicking an image and selecting "send image" or dragging an image into a "new message" window in outlook for example merely adds a link to the image and I'd rather that the image itself was added as an attachment. this functionality is available in IE as "email picture," which is extremely useful.
    thanks for any insight here.

    It was not mentioned what the client is. If it is a browser, the image can be sent using hml img tag. If it is using streams, then u need to set content type to image/gif or image/jpg ( depending the image u r sending) using response obj.
    response.setContentType("image/gif");

  • Cannot directly open the browser from the icon. "problem loading webpage" and "timed out" are the messages. Access was accomplished by using yahoo messenger and opening my email. if I attempt to open a new page, I recieve the aforementioned warnings.

    no link to open access to the internet. I used Yahoo Messenger, clicked on the 'mail icon' and since Firefox is my default it opened and I was able to continue from there. If I try to click File, open New Page, I get the "problem loading webpage" and "connection timed out" messages

    changed my homepage to Yahoo. Now Firrefox works but still cannot access ANYTHING 'Google"!

  • Using a Mac and gmail, comcast & yahoo email clients. When I rcv links in my emails and I try to load them, they don't load into Firefox. I have to copy the link and paste it directly into the browser to activate it. Anybody have this same problem?

    Links not loading in Firefox when you select them in the body of the email

    Managed to solve this myself. Just went to properties > hidden.

  • Firefox does not put the file extension ".exe" onto the firefox application, and the browser will not open.

    I downloaded firefox 3.6.6 from the website, followed the install directions and the browser does not open. I opened the task manager and firefox.exe was not in the process list. Locating the target using properties from the desktop icon if found that the application file did not have the ".exe" extension that it showed in the icon field for location. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times with the same result. I am running windows XP Media Center Version 2002 service pack 3.

  • How to view crawled documents of file system in the browser using sharepoint search

    Hi,
    I think this should be pretty obvious. However, somehow I am not able to do it. Here is what i am working on:
    I created a folder on my D:\ drive on the SharePoint server. Added a few word documents there.Created a new content source in my Search Service Application and configured it to crawl above folder from file system. Ran a full crawl. All the documents are
    crawled successfully. I can see the documents on the search page. Now, the problem is:
    How can I open this document directly in the browser? Becuase the path i get is of the folder on the server. If this isn't possible then I think,there is no use of this feature. I just see the title and a short description of the document.
    But, I think it should be possible. I just don't know how to do it.
    Any ideas will be highly appreciated.

    Hi Mohan,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to open the documents in file shares in the browser by clicking the link in search results.
    As the files are not stored in SharePoint, so we need to configure Office Web Apps for the documents to open the files in the browser.
    Here is a similar thread for you to take a look:

  • Hyperlink which refer to a Visio drawing will not display the Visio drawing inside the browser

    I have a site collection of type "Publishing>>Enterprise wiki", and i have the Visio Graphics service application enabled (i have enterprise SP license). now if i open the document library , and i click on the Visio diagram
    the diagram will open inside the browser as intended :-
    But the problem i am facing is as follow,if i edit a page , add a link, select to "chose from SharePoint" and i browse for the Visio drawing as follow:-
    Then when users click on the link, the Visio diagram will not be shown inside the browser instead an open dialog will be displayed as follow:-
    So can anyone advice how to force the hyperlink to have the same effect as clicking on the diagram from the document library , where the visio drawing will be shown directly inside the browser, instead of prompting an open dialog box ?

    Can you please check "Library settings" -> "Advance settings" and what is the settings
    Opening Documents in the Browser
    Specify whether browser-enabled documents should be opened in the client or browser by default when a user clicks on them. If the client application is unavailable, the document will
    always be opened in the browser.
    Default open behavior for browser-enabled documents:
    Open in the client application
       X Open in the browser
    Use the server default (Open in the browser)
    Shouldn't be "Client application"
    Regards Sudip Misra [email protected] +1-412-237-5435 Pittsburgh, PA
    those setting apply only when clicking on a document directly inside the document library, but they do not have any effect when adding hyperlinks to the documents...

  • OSB Proxy Service does not want to display on the browser

    Hi guys, can you please help with this one
    I have created a business service that calls a webservice tha is housed inside my weblogic domain. The business service is then called by a proxy service. The business and the proxy service make use of the same wsdl that ensures that they both comform to the structure of the soap envelope.
    When I debug both the business and the proxy service from inside the osb console, I get a positive result. Now the problem arises when I call the proxy service directly from the browser, I get a BEA-380001 error. http://localhost:8001/ProxServiceProj/RicaPS
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
         <soapenv:Body>
              <soapenv:Fault>
                   <faultcode>soapenv:Server</faultcode>
                   <faultstring>BEA-380001: Internal Server Error</faultstring>
                   <detail>
                        <con:fault xmlns:con="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/context">
                             <con:errorCode>BEA-380001</con:errorCode>

                   </detail>
              </soapenv:Fault>
         </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    The proxy service has a route node that routes to the business service. I did not do anything that will affect the response, so there are no request actions or response actions. I have even tried adding a pipeline pair that has a stage on the response, this stage does nothing though as I do not know what to do with it.
    Based on the information I have gathered from the net, it might be a transport header problem, that is related to the response-pipeline. So does anyone know what the potential problem could be? Is there anything that I was supposed to do?
    O..

    Hey guys,
    any suggestions? This is the actual error that gets thrown when I check the logs:

  • Displaying the PDF ByteStream on to the browser?

    Hi,
    I want to display a pdf on the browser.
    I have with me the byte stream, using which I need to display the pdf
    directly on the browser.
    Currently, I am storing it in my local file system by creating a file
    output stream. But its taking a lot of time.
    I don't want to create any intermediate files.
    Is it possible to display the PDF directly on the browser?
    If yes, then can some one point how can this be achieved in SunSeeBeyond......
    Regards,
    Renga

    The questions really are
    1."how do I get the web browser to GET a PDF data stream from SeeBeyond"
    2."how do I return a PDF data stream from SeeBeyond so that the browser
    interprets it as PDF".
    Question 2.
    PDF data can be supplied to the browser the same as any other content.
    Content-type header will be application/pdf - see RFC3778
    If your "web application" is completely outside Java CAPS but you need
    Java CAPS to provide the PDF data then the simplest thing to do is to
    develop a JCD or a BP that uses the HTTP Server eWay, accepts the GET
    request, gets the data, sets the data in the HTTP Response, sets the
    content-type in the HTTP Response and sends the lot back to the browser.
    If you are using eVision then you need to consider where within your
    eVision page you would like to display the PDF. A couple of choices are
    a) in a popup window, b) in an inline frame, c) in an independent
    browser window. In all of these you can specify the URL of the PDF and
    the browser will send the GET request to whatever provides the PDF data,
    Java CAPS or otherwise. All this has plenty to do with HTTP, HTML and
    client-side scripting and rather little to do with Java CAPS. If you
    don't understand these underlying technologies you will have
    difficulties working out by yourself what can/needs be done.
    Question 1.
    Again, if your "web application" is developed outside Java CAPS you
    cause the link, button, or some such, to get the web browser to issue a
    HTTP GET request with the appropriate URL that points to the Java CAPS
    infrastructure component that will return the PDF data with the
    appropriate HTTP Headers. If your application is eVision-based then
    again you need to consider where the PDF content is to be displayed and
    get the eVision page to issue the GET request for you, have the pageflow
    construct the eVision page so that it embeds the PDF, etc., etc..
    All of this is well beyond a simple answer to a simple question. This
    takes time to analyse and respond so don't expect a cookbook answer from
    anyone.

  • Display a BLOB data from Oracle in the browser

    Hello,
    I am trying to display Oracle BLOB(ie ORDSYS.ORDVIR) directly in the browser using ASP.
    It is working in SQL Server, but Oracle seems to be giving a problem...
    The code written in ASP is as follows :
    <%
    'Clear out the existing HTTP header Response.Expires = 0
    Response.Buffer = TRUE
    Response.Clear
    ' Change the HTTP header to reflect that an image is being passed.
    Response.ContentType = "image/jpeg"
    Set cn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
    cn.Open "UID=cbir;PWD=cbir;DSN=trying"
    ' Here thumbnaildata is of type ORDSYS.ORDVIR
    SQLQuery = "SELECT thumbnaildata from image where imagekey='1.JPG'"
    set rsBlob = cn.Execute(SQLQuery)
    Response.BinaryWrite rsBlob(0)
    rsBlob.Close
    Set rsBlob = Nothing
    Response.End
    %>
    The the following is displayed in the browser
    after the asp is executed...
    <font face="Arial" size=2>
    <p>Provider</font> <font face="Arial" size=2>error '80004005'</font>
    <p>
    <font face="Arial" size=2>Unspecified error</font>
    <p>
    <font face="Arial" size=2>/ASPSamp/oracbir/sujal/imgtrialora.asp</font><font face="Arial" size=2>, line 38</font>
    NB:- Line 38 is where the query is executed. i.e set rsBlob = cn.Execute(SQLQuery)
    Could you tell me what I did wrong? I am using Oracle 8.1.6 on Win NT..
    Does field of type ORDSYS.ORDVIR have extra info stored along with the image which needs to be removed before displaying the image..

    Since ODBC does not understand Oracle object types, you must select the BLOB locater, not the VIR Object.
    One you've done that you need to loop over the data in the BLOB, pushing it out the Binary response object.
    You may also want to select the mimetype from the VIR object and use that value to set the content type of the response object.
    Here's a piece of code that does the job:
    strSQL = "SELECT t.IMAGE_THUMB.getMimetype(), t.IMAGE_THUMB.getContentLength(), t.IMAGE_THUMB.getContent() FROM IMPB.IMAGE_ITEMS t WHERE IMAGE_ID = 1"
    set rsOrdMediaSource = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
    rsOrdMediaSource.ActiveConnection = "dsn=impb_imperf;uid=impb;pwd=impb;"
    rsOrdMediaSource.Source = strSQL
    rsOrdMediaSource.CursorType = 0
    rsOrdMediaSource.CursorLocation = 2
    rsOrdMediaSource.LockType = 1
    rsOrdMediaSource.MaxRecords = 1
    rsOrdMediaSource.Open()
    If rsOrdMediaSource.EOF Then
    Response.Status = "404 Not Found"
    Response.End
    End If
    Dim blob
    Dim bytesToGo
    bytesToGo = rsOrdMediaSource.Fields.Item(1).value
    Dim vBuffer
    set blob = rsOrdMediaSource.Fields.Item(2)
    If Response.Buffer Then Response.Clear
    Response.Buffer = false
    Response.ContentType=rsOrdMediaSource.Fields.Item(0).value
    While bytesToGo > 0
    vBuffer = blob.getChunk(CLng(32768))
    Response.BinaryWrite(vBuffer)
    bytesToGo = bytesToGo - 32768
    Wend
    Reponse.End

  • When I try to print from the browser, it only prints about 1/3 of the page, it doesn't shrink the contents, just truncates the print area.

    Currently running FF 3.6.8, with W 7 home professional. Every time I try to print from the FF browser, it truncates the print area to about 1/3 of it's normal size. It doesn't shrink to fit the content, just the print area. I've checked all the settings and they look normal. This only happens in FF, I can go to the same url in ie and it will work just fine.
    == Every time I try to print directly from the browser.

  • Trying to access SharePoint / Office 365 Server options from the browser

    When I use the Open With Explorer view of a SharePoint library and open a document from there, I am prompted to Check Out & Open (or just open) the file.  And then from the open file, under the File menu, I have an option for SharePoint / Office 365 Server, to check the file back in and/or to update Document Properties.  This is the exact functionality I am looking for.  My question is, why don't I have this option when I open the PDF in one of these scenarios:
    direct from the browser (within SharePoint)
    from a synced library
    outside of SharePoint (i.e. from the Desktop)

    Seems like a good question for a SharePoint user forum.
    Be well...

  • I can't get a green light on the airport express.  I went to the store and he said my BT router is probably blocking the extension of the network.  He said I could put the serial number of the router straight into the browser, then it would give me d

    My BT homehub is blocking the extension of my wireless network via the airport express, so I don't get a greenlight.  The guy in the store said to put the wireless number direct into the browser and it would then give me directions as to how to unlock the BT network.  But when I do that nothing happens, so I still have no idea how to unlock and extend the wireless network.  Any ideas?

    If you are trying to extend the wireless network provided by the BT Home Hub with the AirPort Express, this won't work as the two are not WDS compatible.
