Disabling autoplay using an action

Hi,
I'm working on an interactive banner. The banner cycles and loops through 6 images on autoplay, each with a 3 sec delay between pictures. I would also like to add a "previous image" and "next image" arrow for people who want to skip some of the images, or wish to go back to one in case the autoplay is too fast / slow for some people.
I can make all this work (both autplay and the button navigation) but encounter a problem. As a user behaviour, I'd like to make sure that the moment you use any of the arrows (meaning, switch to "manual navigation"), the autoplay function stops. Right now I have the behaviour where the banner keeps on playing, even though you manually switch to a different image. I want to stop the autoplay behaviour the moment you touch any of the navigation buttons.
I haven't been able to find any code that is able to stop the autoplay option on command. So apart from using a "play" or "play-reverse" command, the buttons must also do something like "disable autoplay" for the main timeline.
Any suggestions?

Reading your description it sounds like all you really need is to invoke the sym.stop() action when the button is triggered.
Or you may want to incorporate a conditional as outlined on the Edge Animate api page using the isPlaying()

I also had tried other means of getting answers and got an even more specific answer on just how to do this. Below is the link to the actual knowledgebase article giving specific instructions since there are some files that need to be on the Palm and some on the card, etc.

I emailed Zondervan to see if they might be able to direct me to a downloadable manual. The referred me to laridan.com who now supports their software.
I followed the instructions, taking into account some things that were already where they needed to be, hot synced it and it seems to be working fine with 7.8 M free space on my Palm which I trust is enough for my other very large applications.

Using Coursebuilder Action Manager to judge multiple interactions

I'm trying to use the Action Manager to display feedback when three separate text entry interactions on a page are completed. At the moment each interaction displays feedback and is disabled when completed. When all three have been completed I want another instruction to appear.
I have two layers with feedback, one for the feedback from each interaction and another where the instruction is to appear when all 3 are complete.
I can get the instruction to appear when judging the Action Manager using a submit button, but not when I try and have it judge the completion of each interaction.
I have read the tutorial on the coursebuilder support page and tried the example in this situation, but it seems to be doing something different to what I'm hoping to achieve.
Anyone know how I can do this?

As far as I am aware it is best practice to only use one judgeable interaction per page, otherwise it starts misbehaving. I have only ever used one interaction on a page.

"Dialog Framework: Capability of disabling the default cancellation actions applied to the entire web application for full page task flows ran as inline popup dialogs."
I search the function in the current JDEVADF_11.1.1.4.0_GENERIC_101227.1736.5923 but I can't find it.
Can I define this in the taskflow? Or in the when I use the taskflow in another taskflow an define this as "run-as-dialog"?

Crashing when using an Action

Hello,
I just started having this problem when using an action I created. It used to work fine, now all of a sudden when I run it with the same files Illustration CS4 crashes and gives me this error.

Here's what I've tried to fix it:
- Rebuilt my preferences file
- Repaired Permissions
- Cleared out my font caches using Font Nuke
- Installed a completely new set of RAM
- Ran the FixVCUIFramework file from Adobe
- Disabled Version Cue completely
- Set permissions for /Library/Application Support/Adobe/SING to read and write for Owner, Group and Others
The action that crashes it is 24 steps long and involves opening 3 other files. Basically the action sets up registration marks for screen printing.

Problem with disabling Autoplay

As far as all the documents go, when I disable autoplay, the poster image is supposed to show up and the asset should play when I click on the poster image. Correct?
However, that doesn't happen...
The first thing I see is the first frame of my asset (paused) and no poster image to click on to play the animation.
I have Poster image set up and fallbacks, tried with preloaders, etc. I also tried creating a new document and same problem so I'm sure my file isn't damaged in any way.
Am I missing something here?
I guess a different approach would be to make a play-button, but how do I do that? I tried adding a sym.stop(); function to the beginning of the stage and a label "start" in the timeframe a few ms after. I placed a button symbol to the beggining and made visibily none on the "start" frame. I added a sym.play("start") to the click function of the button symbol and tested it out.
Nope. If I keep autoplay on, it'll completely ignore all functions and play the entire animation. If I turn autoplay off, it'll show the button but the function won't work so it won't start playing from "start"
Solutions to any of the two would be great.
Even better, is there a way to directly embed javascript to the animation so it would play when visible?

So the poster image can be inserted into one of three different places - used in the down-level stage, which is displayed to the user of IE6, 7, or 8, used in the preloader, which is what the user sees while the libraries are loading up (which can be quick), or packed in an OAM file to be displayed in InDesign. If autoplay is not set in InDesign, it will display until the user touches/clicks on it in their digital publication.
Otherwise, the poster image is not displayed to the user at all. If you want it to do the "touch me and I'll start playing," you can use your poster image like any other image. You can set it to the only visible object at the beginning of the timeline and make it an object you can touch to play the timeline.
Hopefully that gives you an idea of where the poster image is used and how to go about things going forward. Feel free to continue to ask questions!

Disable Autoplay iPhone plugged into USB Radio

How do you disable AUTOPLAY when plugging an iPhone into a car radio that has USB? I really just want to use the USB at time to charge my phone or start streaming radio. However when plugging in the iPhone to the USB connection starts my iPhone/Music playlist which is not what I want to happen.
Is there any magic while plugging in the phone to the USB port to prevent it from autostarting/playing music from my library?

That's probably a function of your in-car system. I'm not aware of any settings in iOS that would cause this to happen.

You should be able to disable Force Click on the new MacBook Pros, as noted in the following article:
To turn off Force click, deselect the “Force click and haptic feedback” checkbox. This will disable the functionality described in the Trackpad preferences pane.

Not sure if I can use the CRMV_EVENT. Even I'm not aware how to use that. Let me tell what i am doing in the logic.
- implementing the logic in the badi order_save (method - CHECK_BEFORE_SAVE)
- get the header and item details using the FM CRM_ORDER_READ.
- get the status of header / item from the output of CRM_ORDER_READ.
- compare the status with the custom table (having info of hearder type, item type, status, tast id, task description etc)
- if status is different, create the task using the details from the custom table.
now i want to write the logic to implement the last step. Do we have any standard FM where I can pass the task ID and it will create the task? Please help.

Take one integer value attribute in the context of view
when you r performing action on POP1 set it's value to 1
when you r performing action on POP2 set it's value to 2
create one method which receives integer argument, say diaplay(int a)
In the action call display(wdContext.currentContextElement().get<intvariable>()) by passing the value in the context attribute
in display() method, Check the value of integer variable..
if it is 1 then perform action related to POP1
if it is 2 then perform action related to POP2

u can use the method SUBSCRIBE_TO_BUTTON_EVENT of the IF_WD_WINDOW interface ... to handle the event fired by the popup .....used this method after creating the popup window ...

How to use "Insert action"

Hi, experts:
I am facing one problem.
I try to use system action "insert action" to insert a new row into table view from a form view,
I have assign "To" to the target table in the Insert action properties.
When test program, table view did add a new row after click insert button in the form view, but all cell value are blank.

Hi Nick,
I think you are trying to use the fields on the From View to insert the rows with those values in the table View using the 'INSERT' action. You have also configured the 'TO' field of the 'INSERT' action to point to your Target Table View.
By default the INSERT Action will insert a blank row. In order to populate the values in the table, do the following:
1.Right Click your Target Table View.
2. Select 'Define Data'
3. For each field in the table set the default value to the corresponding field from the source 'Form view'
             For doing this Double Click the 'fx' button in the Default Value column
             Open 'Data Fields'
             Open Your Source Form view
             Double Click the required field
             Clcik Ok
3. Save, Compile and Deploy the Application

I am wanting to use the "Actions" in Photoshop Elements 11. But when I get the actions box up, it is only showing a small list of effects to use. The tutorials I have checked into all show a very long list of actions. When I click on the little arrow and click on "load actions", I am getting nothing. Everything is blank. It says "No items match your search." Please help!

To use the existing actions, try the following:
1. Open one of the Action Sets, in this example Special Effects is the Action Set, by pressing the small arrow beside the set name.
2. Then click on the name of the Action, in this example Faded Ink is the Action name.
3. Then press the Play button to run the action.
