Disabling LabVIEW navigation dialog on exit

When exiting LabVIEW, the navigation dialog always pops up. There's the option to disable it on launch, and to make it Large or Small, but is there a way to make it not appear when quitting? It would be nice if LabVIEW simply exits when the last open VI is closed or when File>Exit is selected.

Contact NI and ask them to add this option. To my knowledge, there is no way to change this.
I believe that the reason for this is to initiate some cleanup that is required when LabVIEW exits. One thing I am sure of is that VIs remain in memory until this dialog is closed, so its probably a way to retain these, and a cleaner way to exit and prompt for a save.
Until then....just deal with it. If it is a matter of you are running target (deployed) VIs in a development environment, and don't want the users to see LabVIEW dialogs, then you do have the option of just running in the Runtime environment. I have an article being reviewed about deploying "Loader" applications, which may be of interest to you. Let me know, and I will get you a URL for the arti
cle, or advise you on using a modified version of "File Manager.vi" to open VIs in the runtime environment.
Good luck

  • How can I disable "download error" dialog box when saving a complete web page?

    Sometimes, when I try to save a web page as type: "Web Page, complete", firefox displays download error dialog box stating a file "could not be saved, because the source file could not be read."
    I don't have a problem with firefox couldn't save that file, but I have a problem with firefox displaying that dialog box, because I have to click OK everytime.
    Is there a way to disable that annoying dialog box?

    I modified the host file mainly to block ads. But that's not the problem. It's OK for me for firefox to not saving some parts of a page (ads usually within a frame). It's my intention to NOT saving those files. I just want to save the main content of a webpage.
    But I'm having a problem with firefox displaying the dialog boxes.

  • How can I Hide(not Disable) the Save As and Exit options in the File menu of Excel Documents in SharePoint 2013?

    Hi,
    I want to hide(not disable) the "Save As" and "Exit" options in the File Menu of Excel Documents in SharePoint 2013.When I make changes in the excelribbon.css file of xlviewer.aspx,all the options under File menu are getting hidden but
    I want to hide only these two options while retaining the others.
    Kindly suggest me a method to achieve this.
    Looking forward to your reply at the earliest.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sanjana

    Hi Sanjana,
    To hide the “Save As” and “Exit” options in xlviewer.aspx page in SharePoint, I recommend to use the code below(however it is not recommended):
    <style>
    div.cui-menusection li.cui-menusection-items:nth-child(2)
    display:none !important;
    div#m_excelWebRenderer_ewaCtl_menuJewelSaveAs{
    display:none !important;
    div#m_excelWebRenderer_ewaCtl_msJewelSecondary{
    display:none !important;
    </style>
    As “:nth-child()” selector is supported in IE 9 and later versions, please use IE 9 or later versions’ IE browser.

    Best regards.

    I've had the same issue bugging me since installing Snow, er, lion, er, cat, er, cougar, er, Mountain Lion. Incredibly ANNOYING.
    It's stupid stuff like this and reverse scrolling that really turn long-timer users off. I'm personally glad Forstall got fired for blunders such as these.
    I'm serious peeved that turning off iCloud Documents & Data actually deletes documents and data locally. That's just incredibly stupid.
    MANY thanks mende1 for the answer on how to fix it.

  • Can I permanently disable the navigation pane in HTML help?

    My company has a web-based application on MicroStrategy platform.
    I have created a customized WebHelp to replace the MicroStrategy out of the box help and that works just fine.
    We are developing the MicroStrategy Office add-in for Excel for our clients.
    Once installed, a CHM file is copied to the client's local hard drive.
    We want to replace this with our own customized help.
    I have created a CHM file with ONE topic that redirects the clients to our customzied WebHelp with content for the add-in.
    The one topic has a redirect in the HTML header code as follows:
    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=https://customhelp.htm#AddIn_Introduction.htm" />
    That is working fine in my testing.
    Here is my problem...
    The HTML Help Viewer opens and automatically hides the Navigation Pane and displays the WebHelp (navigation pane, menu bar and topic pane).
    But, the HTML Help Viewer still has the Hide/Show button to Hide/Show the navigation pane for the HTML help.
    Is there ANY way to disable this or hide it or let it stay there but disable the navigation pane?
    As always, any assistance would be appreciated.
    Thanks --

    Amebr and Priyank --
    Thanks - that did exactly what I wanted it to do.
    It did not work in my testing, but I think the KEY point that I missed was the sequence of unchecking the options in the Window setup.
    Now I have a one topic CHM help file that automatically redirects to my WebHelp on my application server.
    The CHM opens and automatically redirects to my WebHelp and the WebHelp (frameset and all) display in an HTML Help Viewer window that has no HTML Help Viewer navigation buttons.
    One last note, the WebHelp displays with the Contents/Index/Search for WebHelp included in the presentation.
    I have not deployed this in a non-test environment so I may still run into issues but so far it is good.
    THANKS for all the help.

  • Losing focus in file navigation dialogs

    I've been searching on here and Leopard seems to have a number of focus problems. I think I may have found another.
    Try this: under 10.5.2, launch iTunes and open any of its file navigation dialogs. Select any folder or file but don't click "Open." Now Command-Tab to the Finder or any other app. When you Command-Tab back to iTunes focus has been lost on the file dialog. This behaviour also occurs if you activate the screensaver.
    It also happens with these third-party applications: Graphic Converter 6.0.3, Final Draft 7.1.3, Final Draft Tagger 1.2.2, TextWrangler 2.3, Screenwriter 6.0.2.109 (r3).
    This does not happen with any of the following Apple applications: AppleScript, Automator, Font Book, GarageBand, iCal, iDVD, iMovie, iPhoto, iWeb, Keynote 4.0.2, Numbers 1.0.2, Pages 3.0.2, Mail, Preview, QuickTime Player, Safari, Stickies, TextEdit.
    It also does not happen with these third-party applications: Bean 0.9.11, Little Snitch Configuration 2.0.2, NotePad 2.6b1, Scrivener 1.11.
    Graphic Converter's developer maintains that these dialogs are handled by the Mac OS and he can do nothing to change this behaviour. If this is true, why the disparity in my test results?
    Kind regards.

    This is on a brand new iMac 24" 2.4 GHz Core Duo with the stock Radeon HD2600 graphics card. I reinstalled the system and bundled software to leave out unnecessary printer drivers and language translations, then applied the 10.5.2 Combo updater, followed by the Graphics Update. Problems with HelpViewer were resolved by trashing its cache and .plist files. I then installed my third-party apps.
    Graphic Converter was the first app to manifest the focus problem. I reported this to Lemkesoft Tech Support and was informed that this was a Mac OS issue so I decided to test all apps on this machine. As stated, iTunes is the only Apple application to exhibit this behaviour (although I have not yet tested the utilities).
    Kind regards.

  • Disable/hide navigation Back button in particular overview page

    Hi All,
    I have to disable/hide navigational 'Back' button on Task overview page. I tried to achive this in WD_HISTORY mehtod but no luck.
    Please suggest me how to do this.
    Thanks,
    Nanaji

    Hi Laxmana,
    I did the same thing as you suggested, by commenting the super class method we can just stop to go to previous page but not all the pages which are stored in back button history.
    My actual requirement is, back button should not be visible to user or should not function anything. User should not use back button to navigate away. user must use 'save and back' or 'save' buttons.
    Thanks,
    Nanaji

  • How to disable "Page Expired " dialog

    Hi,
    I have a problem about session expire. in my web application while time inactive (no request, no access) then "The page has expired" dialog on browser. how to disable the message dialog. dialog title is "Page expired".
    dialog Image link here: http://codeplay.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/expired.png
    thanks

    Thats correct the page expired warning does not come when the value is set to 0.
    But , if you remove the page expire warning message by setting the warning value to 0 .The expired page stays there and it the user does a ppr on that expired page he will get an ugly java exception message in popup. If the user does an action which causes a full page refresh there wont be a problem but ppr causes exception in popup like Error in ppr#36 java.lang.NullPointerException.
    If you want to handle that scenario you would need to override ADF Exception Handler http://blogs.oracle.com/jdevotnharvest/entry/extending_the_adf_controller_exception_handler and redirect to error page rather than show an exception in popup. Additionally, if you notice in the custom exception handler when such an view expired exception occurs the message of exception contains ADF_FACES-30108 . So you can check the message and redirect to a custom view expired page.

  • Disable iCloud open dialog

    I have added some applications to iCloud Drive since I want to share documents at home and work. The annoying is that after that these applications starts with a, in my opinion, completely undesirable open dialog instead of an empty document.
    I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but is there a way to disable this open dialog and still have the applications in iCloud Drive?
    Fred

    I have added some applications to iCloud Drive
    I am not sure what you mean:  Did you move the applications from the "Applications" folder to iCloud Drive, or did you store the documents for applications in iCloud drive? Which applications are you asking about?

  • Is here a way to disable the print dialog box?

    I am trying to disable the print dialog box so that a page can print directly from a javascript "print" command. How can I disable the print dialog box so that it will print automatically?

    You can try creating a new boolean preference - '''print.use_native_print_dialog''' - and set it to '''false''' and see it that still works. That pref was removed from about:config a number of versions ago, but the underlying code might still be present, so give it a try.

  • IME mode disables on file dialog

    We have this custom photo uploader that we designed to help non-computer types to be able to figure out what pictures they were about to send us before actually using their often limited bandwidth. It turns out that in Japan as soon as the multi-file select dialog is used it disables the IME mode switcher and our users have to exit the browser and restart before they can type in Japanese into the site again. We tried rolling back to a couple older flash players, 10.0.102 and 10.3.181 which didn't help. We also rebult the project with CS5 and that didn't work either. We're stumped because it worked in May, but sometime in June it seems to have stopped working. We're pretty sure it's not the uploader itself because it works in Chrome and Firefox, but it fails in IE7 and 8, on XP, Vista, and Windows 7. I'd add a code snippet, but there just isn't anything unusual in there, and nothing specific to Japan or even mentioning the IME mode. Anyone else experience this or have an idea as to what we can do with it?

    LabVIEW 2014 SP1 seems to solve that problem here on my Mac OSX 10.10 system.
    Now Apple may be nice for end users, but all those Apple fan boys sure would think a little different about it, if they had to write programs on the Mac. Apple keeps changing its APIs and their behaviour continously, inventing new APIs (which is fine) in a rapid pace, only to depreciate and remove older APIs at almost the same speeed!
    Microsoft sometimes goes to the other extreme with maintaining backwards compatibility but working with Apple systems surely isn't easy as a programmer (unless maybe when one uses their high level click and point together web design applications, but I don't know that).

  • Opening link in a new tab disables back navigation to the first page

    If I am on page A (for an example, let's say it is www.yahoo.com) and I chose a link on that page and by right-clicking open pop-up menu and choose '''Open Link in New Tab''', the page B (let's say finance.yahoo.com) opens in a new tab. Now, if I click on any link on this page B to be opened in the same tab the page (we will call it C) opens, but all options to navigate back ('''Go Back One Page''' browser button, Alt-Left Arrow, '''Back''' option on pop-up menu) appear disabled. However, if I continue to navigate from page C in the same tab to let's say page D, and from there to pages E and F, I can go back all the way to page C, but no further. It looks like for some reason the opening link in a new tab fails to put it in that tab navigation history.
    I am running Firefox 4.01. It happens only on my office computer and not on any other computers I use. I had this problem before on the same office computer with Firefox 3.6. I could not get rid of it. Only after I uninstalled 3.6, cleaned all remnants of it and installed 4.0 – the problem went away. I updated to 4.01 and it worked fine for a while. But recently (I don't know what triggered it) the problem came back.

    Thanks for your post.
    I've seen it, and that's what I want to avoid. Like I said, if I click on a link which was suppose to open in a new window, it should open in new tab instead.
    Thanks.
