Disappearing Signatures

I have two accounts connected to my mail and three signatures in 'All Signatures' in Preferences. I drag 2 signatures into my work account and when I exit mail and open it again the signatures are no longer in that account. It only seems to happen with one of my accounts and doesn't happen on any of the accounts on my home computer.
Can anyone give me a reason for this, it didn't happen pre Leopard.

Hmm, thought I had checked it - try this one.
Sorry about that.

  • Disappearing Signature?

Why does my signature disappear in preferences from my e-mail account? It remains under "All Signatures" but pops out of the e-mail account. I go back in and drag and drop it to the e-mail account and it appears on e-mails until I close Mail, then the sig. gets dropped from my mail account again.

Just a guess. Perhaps you have to create the signature from scratch in each account instead of simply dragging and dropping.

  • Signatures disappear from preferences.

This is a problem that has only just started recently. I've had my iMac for a year.
I have two email accounts and a separate signature for each and each signature is assigned to the appropriate account.
Recently, they have taken to disappearing from the accounts. The signatures are still in the preference file, but they are no longer associating with the appropriate account. I can reassign the signatures (drag & drop) and it seems to work fine for a while but, within a day they've disappeared again. I have searched for a post with a similar problem. Anyone got a clue?
    Mahalo, Big Island Event Guy.

I had this problem on one of my 2 email accounts (not the .mac one), but solved it today by reading a another discussion "Disappearing Signatures" on this list. There the poster said he solved it after a discussion with Apples Support. He said "I didn't have the right setting for my outgoing mail server."
    However there were no details.
I looked at the "Account Information" tab of the Account preference and notice that the "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) was listed as "none" for the problem account.
Selecting a server seems to have fixed the problem. It used to be that everytime I quit Mail, the signatures for that account were gone when I started it up again. Now it is working!
    Hope this helps someone else.

  • Signature field disappears in Acrobat X?

I used InDesign CS6 to create a form with two signature fields, among others. When I open the form in Acrobat X, the fields are all there. When I sign the first part of the form and then save it and then reopen the form, all the checked radio buttons are blank and the signature disappears. I was able to get the radio buttons to stay when I sent the PDF to the second signatory, but my signature was not there. They were able to sign on the second signature field and return the PDF to me. The second signature was there, but not the first one. The recipients are using Acrobat Pro for Windows (not sure which version but probably the latest) and I am using a Mac with Acrobat X and InDesign CS6.

Yes, you can create and edit forms with Standard. It won't allow you to add/edit document-level JavaScripts or add the digital signature usage right when Reader-enablinga document, however.

  • Signatures disappear when sending file attachment in iPad Mail

Whenever I send an attachment from GoodReader or Pages the file appears at the bottom of the message and my default signature disappears.  How can I send files with a signature?

    Hi,
Attachment Content is not Mandatory to enter unless you wish to override the Attachment Property.
Basically we use this content along with Encoded Image Property like chart, spc and image loader action block.
If you are loading file from system using Proper path in Attachment Section then no need to use Attachment Content section.
Ensure that you have set the Attachment Content Type to "application/pdf" to send pdf files and a valid File path in Attachment section.
    Hope this helps!!

  • Signature in Mac Mail keeps disappearing

I have to keep pasting the same signature in every e-mail, it will not retain my customer signature after the mail application has been closed. Couldn't find much info on this online, does anyone have any ideas?

I have the exact same problem.  The image in the signature keeps disappearing.  I can speculate that closing the mail app causes it to "forget" the image whilst leaving an empty Bo's in its place.
I'm using iOS 7 on iPad air.

  • Signatures disappearing!

I have a few documents I need to merge into a single PDF file through acrobat 9.0. One of them is a pdf form with electronic signatures. When I combine into a single PDF file (using the Combine > Merge Files Into a Single PDF File), the signature disappears! Please help!

Actually you can be happy if the signature simply disappears. If it didn't disappear but instead was copied as is into a merged document, it would display as invalid, either due to changes to the signed content or due to added content.
In your own comment you indicated reasons why in the course of a document merge signatures should break, and Adobe and their software have become more and and sensitive concerning the changes allowed to signed documents.
Concerning your use case. Have you considered creating a PDF portfolio instead? This is the alternative option in the Combine > submenu.

  • Signature Field disappears??? %#%^#

I am sure I am missing something simple, I just can't seem to get past it.... I have a form that has a single sub form which works fine, it is visible and invisible when it is supposed to be. The issue however is with the signature field.
I can see the signature field in the design view but not in the pdf view. The signature field needs to be visible all the time and is set to be so, however it disappears in the pdf view. It needs to be visible in case the user desires to sign the form manually and fax it rather than signing it electronically.
Like I said, all the properties on the field are correct, and I can see it in the design view but it disappears in the pdf view and on the pdf form. This form is saved as a dynamic form.
    Anyone have any ideas??
    Thanks-->> G

while you have the signature field selected go under object-field- presence and make it visible.. unless you have already done that than i have no idea

  • Make the signature disappear after the modification of a certified document

    Hallo,
I would like to certify a document to make the people who receive it aware that it is a unique and original document and to discourage people in modifing it.
I've tried using certificate function and, when I activate the certification, the document became protected from editing and my digital signature appears on it.
That's ok but, with one of the many programs used to unlock the protected .pdf documents, I was able to edit the document, my digital signature didn't disappear and the document seem to be original apart from the signature functions which aren't enabled anymore.
I would like a strong visual change on the document, like the disappearing of the signature or the appearing of a mark, in order to tell people:"If you see/don't see this mark the document could have been modified and you don't have to rely on it", is it possible?
I'm using Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro.
    Thank you,
    Alberto Bellini

    Hi Chris,
Just to be clear, I'm only talking about what Acrobat does. To begin with, Acrobat will respect (enforce) the permissions that correspond to a Digital Signature (be it a Certifying or Regular signature). If somehow you do something to the file that is not allowed by the permission set, then the signsature will be rendered invalid.
The question I have is what application is making the change. When it comes to third party software (i.e. not made by Adobe) as long as it can open the file the user can do whatever they want. You can always open a PDF in a text editor and make a change. Whether or not the third party software processes the signature or obeys the permissions is a separate question.
Finally, back to your question. If you do make a change using third party software that is outside the scope of the signature, when you reopen the file in Acrobat (and when I say Acrobat I really mean both Acrobat and Reader, but I'm too lazy to type both) it will show up as invalid. If you made changes that are within the scope of the signature, then the signature would be valid with changes. It would be just as if you made an allowable change using Acrobat.
For example, if adding form data was an allowable change for a Certifying signature, and your ability to write in PDF is strong enough to add the data to the correct object using the third party software, and update the XREF table while keeping the signature byte range intact, when opening the file in Acrobat you would get a valid signature.

  • Disappearing Digital Signatures

Our drafting group creates multi page sketches, each being a separate PDF file.
Each page (PDF) is inserted in to a single PDF file as a composite document.
Individual pages are revised occasionally and digitally signed off.
The old revision is extracted from the composite document and replaced with the revised page. (PDF)
When the new revision is inserted into the composite document, the digital signature on the revised page disappears.
How can I prevent the digital signature from disappearing?

You can maintain PDF Portfolio as a composite document.
When ever there is a new revision in any page , that specific PDF can be removed from portfolio and replaced with new revision

  • Make printed digital signature disappear if document altered

We have created a document and digitally signed it.  We have then altered the document.  When the document is viewed on the screen the signature shows as invalid.
When the document is printed, however, the signature is the same.
Is there a way of either showing the state of the signature (valid / invalid), or making it disappear on a printed document?
Note, I did notice a similar question here, but the response was to a link that no longer works.
    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for this - it would achieve the results, but implementing would be difficult.
I am trying to imagine the process that a user would have to go through.  Digitally sign a document and then cut and paste a bunch of javascript into the document?  It seems like a step that would be difficult to train people on, and hard to manage.
Is it be possible to make the check box for a valid signatures visible on print as well as screen?  Maybe that is the best result.  We want to allow printing and annotations, but we just want to prevent someone passing off an altered printed copy as true.  Any solution that accomplishes this would be helpful.

  • Signature icon in Preview has disappeared

When I upgraded to Mavericks, the Signature icon disappeared from my edit menu in the Preview app.  How do I get it back please?
    Todd

I figured out the problem.  The signature icon only appears on pdf files, not jpg or other files.  Problem solved.
