Display images in a 4x8 table problem

Hi all,
I know you can get scripts out there to make photo galleries
but I
want to create a table that shows images in rows of 4 images
per row
and up to 10 rows.
I have create this using 10 record sets restriced to show 4
consecutive images in a row.
Each record set show the next set of 4 images.
Is there a better way to do this? There must be.
If I get DW to display all the images in the db they will
just fill
the left to right.
Should I be using dynamic CSS to place the images in a
flowing
manner???

You need a nested looper - one that lets you loop 4 times on
the inner loop,
with each insertion filling a cell, and then loop once on the
outer loop, to
produce a new row. You can use this either to produce a page
showing ALL of
the images, or one that shows a set number, allowing you to
then 'navigate'
to the next/previous set of the same number of images. I
believe Tom Muck
has such a nested looper on his site (
http://www.tommuck.com), but
I'm not
sure what scripting methods it supports.

    You don't use #workspace_images# since that is for STATIC files, not images in a table..

  • Display Images from  HTMLDB_APPLICATION_FILES Table?

    How do I display images from the HTMLDB_APPLICATION_FILES Table?
    Are the contents full available potentially for display? Or only after I have written them to another display?
    Please advise what I need to do or what corrections below is required:
    The calling procedure is a item in a SELECT statement as part of a report query:

    I believe you put HTML "pre" tags around your quote (with square brackets, I can't type them here because they'll be escaped).
    If the example below looks formatted then using "pre" works, if not...then ignore me ;)
    begin
      select
        count(*)
      into
        v_count
      from big_table;
    end;

  • How I can display images as table data?

    Dear project Marvel,
    I would like to display images as one of table data, but I do not know how to easily store image data into tables using htmldb and whether I can display the stored images. Does anyone knows how I can store/display images using htmldb? If I cannot do this easily then displaying image (which is stored somewhere else but) just looks like one of columns also fine to me.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rui

    you can show those images inline in your report region if you call our "p" procedure in an image tag. so the example above has you creating a table that you then join to the wwv_flow_files view with a query like...
    select htf.anchor('p?n='||f.id, f.filename) name,
    f.doc_size, f.mime_type, m.upload
    from my_docs m, wwv_flow_files f
    where m.filename = f.name
    ...clicking on the links in the first column would return a page that just showed the associated image. if changed that anchor tag to an image one like so...
    select '&lt;img src="p?n=' || f.id ||'&gt;' the_image,
    f.doc_size, f.mime_type, m.upload
    from my_docs m, wwv_flow_files f
    where m.filename = f.name
    ...your images would then appear inline as opposed to on a separate page.

    i'm not sure how, but i'd earlier posted an incomplete answer to rui's question. i've fixed some of the above and added this below...
    just fixed the html above so it renders correctly in this forum. sorry i didn't see that earlier. also, i'm not sure where the rest of my post went, but rui had also wanted to know what the wwv_flow_files was. that's a view to the table we use to store uploaded BLOBs like images, css's, and stylesheets. since you can only identify one document table in your DAD configuration, we give you this view to allow you access to that doc table that HTML DB owns.

  • Problem with displaying image

    Hello!

    When you have a problem you'll get a faster, more effective response by including as much relevant information as possible upfront. This should include:
    <li>Full APEX version
    <li>Full DB/version/edition/host OS
    <li>Web server architecture (EPG, OHS or APEX listener/host OS)
    <li>Browser(s) and version(s) used

    With APEX we're also fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which we can then see at first hand.

  • How can I display images in tables?

    My images that I have put into tables in my iBook are visible in iBooks Author. However, when I preview it on my iPad, I cannot see the images in the tables. Any ideas anyone?

    Are you sure the images are embedded in the table and not just sitting on top? You can test by nudging the table slightly to see if the image/s move with the table. Also in the Inspector, an image in a selected table cell will show in Inspector as a background to that cell.
    I haven't tested whether the image in the background of the table cell will actually display in the previewed iBook but am interested in the result that you get. I found that the only way I could get an image into a table cell was by copying it to the clipboard and then selecting the cell and pasting. I also found that none of the sizing options in Inspector worked and that the image shrank to fit the cell and was centred in it by default.

  • Displaying image from database table.

    Hi All,
       I am very new to Web Dynpro ABAP.
      I am developing an application to display an image in "Image" UI Element.
      For this I have one table consisting of fields image id, image data and image name. here image id is primary key field.
    Now i want to display an image from that table in "Image" UI Element. For this i am using "Filedown load" UI element.
    But by using filedownload ui element i can diaplay image in another new page.
    But my requirement is to display image in the same web page without creating a new one.
    (I want to display the image in "Image" UI element without storing that image in MIME objects.)
    Can anyone help me.
    Thanks in Advance!
    Regards,
    Sreelakshmi.

    What you describe is completely possible.  Since you have the image data (XSTRING) in the context you have everything you need.  You don't need to store the content into the MIME Repository, but you do need to get it somewhere where it has an externally accessible URL.  Remember you need to supply image UI element with a URL.  This URL is processed on the client side by the web browser.  Therefore just giving it a path to the context won't work as that isn't externally accessible.
    I would suggest instead that you place the image content into the ICM cache temporarily.  This lets you basically generate a temporary URL for the image that can be used by the Image UI element.
    Here is some example code that pushes images into the ICM Cache:
    ****Create the cached response object that we will insert our content into
      DATA: cached_response TYPE REF TO if_http_response.
      CREATE OBJECT cached_response
        TYPE
          cl_http_response

            exceptions
              others  = 1.
        catch cx_root.
      endtry.
    ****set the data and the headers
      DATA: l_app_type TYPE string.
      DATA: l_xstring TYPE xstring.
          cached_response->set_data( me->gx_content ).
          l_app_type = me->gx_mimetype
      cached_response->set_header_field( name  = if_http_header_fields=>content_type
                                         value = l_app_type ).
    ****Set the Response Status
      cached_response->set_status( code = 200 reason = 'OK' ).
    ****Set the Cache Timeout - 60 seconds - we only need this in the cache
    ****long enough to build the page and allow the Image on the Client to request it.
      cached_response->server_cache_expire_rel( expires_rel = I_CACHE_TIMEOUT ).

  • How to display images in a table column?

    Hi,
    In a VC model, I have to display images in a table column for each record found.
    How can this be done?
    Regards,
    Nitin

    Hi Nitin,
    It can be done by adding to the table the Image control (can be found under Advanced Controls in the Compose panel).
    In the URL property (in the Configure panel of the Image control) you can define any expression that will return the image URL. For example:
    ="http://hosting.site.url/"&@ImageNameField

  • Problem in displaying images one by one in JList

    I have a problem in displaying images one by one in Jlist. I want to show 100 images as a thumbnailview in jlist but it is talking too much time to show all the images after scalling 100 images to thumbnail view and making it into ImageIcon. So, i thought that it would be better way to show one by one after scaling it into thumnailview. But my renderer is getting calling after 100 images scaled down and setting into list. I have posted my code 2 days back but there is no reply.
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=789943
    I donno where i am missing in this code.
    Plz suggest me some solution for it.

    Where is the scaling done? In the ListCellRenderer? Regardless of where that is being done, I assume you are caching the scaled images after you scale them, right? If not, consider adding some sort of caching.
    This should do the trick...
    Rework your ListCellRenderer to check to see if a scaled version of the image is available. If not, start a thread to do the scaling and create an ImageIcon. In the meantime, while that thread is running, have the renderer return some sort of stock icon, like a little generic image icon. When the scaling thread completes, make a call to repaint() on the JList so the cell renderer gets re-asked for the icons. This time around, the renderer should notice that a scaled version (the ImageIcon) is available. Return that. So, this method doesn't guarantee that the images will be produced in order, 1...2...3..., but it will return images as they become available, and the overall JList rendering won't wait until all 100 are ready. If you want them returned in order, just do all of the scaling in a single thread and queue up the images to be scaled, in order.
    I hoped this helps. (If it does, please throw me some Duke Dollars.)

  • Problem in displaying images stored in Blob variable

    Hi all,
    I have a requirement where i need to retrieve the image stored in Blob variable in DB and display the image in JSP page.
    I have written the below code to achieve this, it works fine
    In JSP, I am calling a action in the <img tag
    <img src='downloadPhoto.page?method=getPhotoInBytes&accessoryModelPictures.id.accessoryNumber=${photo.id.accessoryNumber}/> In my controller class
    InputStream inputStream=accessoryPicturesLOB.getPicture().getBinaryStream();
    byte[] theBytes = new byte[inputStream.available()];
    inputStream.read(theBytes);
    response.setContentType("image/jpg");
    response.getOutputStream().write(theBytes);But the problem is, *if i right click on the image and select save picture as option i get a error saying "The system cannot find the specified file "*
    Can you please tell me what is wrong in my approach/code
    Is there any better approach to display image that is store in Blob variable ?
    Please help on this.
    Thanks in advance.

    You need at least to set the filename in the content disposition header.
