Display Parent node in a separate column in BEx

Hi all,
I have a requirement to display parent node of a node in a separate column in BEx.
For e.g. If 'a' and 'b' belong to the parent node 'c,' I need to display 'c' in a separate column whenever 'a' or 'b' occur in the report.
Any ideas how I can accomplish this? I already have a hierarchy enabled in the report. The client
still wants to display the parent node in a separate column

You can use the following as table cell editor:
1. Image -- just displays plain image
2. Caption -- dislays image along with text or image only (or text only).
3. LinkToAction -- same as caption, however provides you a way to have something like "onClick" action.

Displaying time ranges as a separate column

Hi,
I need to show the time ranges with 30minutes starting from today 12:00 AM till current timestamp showing the time range as
Time Interval
0:01 AM - 0:30 AM
0:31 AM - 1:30 AM
till current timestamp(4:30 PM-5:00PM)
as a separate column. Have anyone tried this earlier. Need help!

Table Popin - Text to be displayed after collapse node in the same column

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement, where I have a parent table and one column of it is associated to Table popin. Within the popin, i display another child table with two columns.. one is checkbox and another is text. When i select some checkboxes in the child table and collapse the popin node, the selected text values should be concatenated and displayed in the parent table popin column.
Is it possible to dislay text in the same popin column of the table ? If so, please provide me the steps or code snaps on how to achieve it.

Hi Gaurav,
If you can able to catch the event of the checkbox, then write the code inside that event for concatenation of the selected values.
Else you can call another view with all options and checkbox. After selecting the checkbox and clicking OK or SELECT options you can pass the value back to the field.(This is a suggestion).

As far as i know you can't do this,the option you have is to create one more column (subtotal) and populate it by manual calculation at every subtotal (not alv subtotal but yours) .

If you're reading your data in as a 1D array, this is as simple as using the Reshape Array to make a 2D array. I've attached an example in LabVIEW 6.1 format. The example rearranges a single column of data fill several columns horizontally, but you can easily modify this code to fill the columns downward instead.

You can map the child node and even the paren tnode to the same view if u want to display in the same window..
If not if ur requirment is to dispaly in the sme view but should not map the child and parent to the Same view then you can take another new view.. and insert 2 view containers and then add the Child view and parent view in that view containers and then Diaplay the newly created view.

Displaying leaf nodes at the bottom of a tree that has parent nodes

I have a problem in that - leaf nodes added to the tree at the bottom appear with big spaces (vertically) between them. It looks as if the nodes are somehow expanded by default!
Is this a known issue with leaf nodes that are added in below parent nodes?
I notice in the normal hierarchy the leaf nodes are displayed fine. Also if I return false on isleaf() it displays the last 3 nodes as expandable icons but they're still lage gaps between them.

I have made one ALV report, i need to show the subtotals of ekpo-brtwr (Gross Value) grouped by or sorted by
ekko-ebeln (Purshasing Doc) but in separate column not at the end of the line items of each purshasing doc
any idea how can i do this?
let us say i have the following cols in my report:
ekko-bukrs
ekko-ebeln,
ekko-aedat,
kko-lifnr,
ekpo-brtwr
i want to add one more col for example (T-Gross) and to fill it with the suptotals of (ekpo-brtwr) sorted by the

If you need one more column, then you need to expand the field catalog table and data table as you did for all other fields and you need to code the logic to calculate the subtotals and populate the new column, but if you want to have row, that will be easy. Display Units in separate column next to key figure

Hello All,
Could someone please explain step by step how to display the key figure results in one column and the mapped unit in the next column using bex analyzer 3.5.   An example would be:
Now:
Order# 1 Cost Element1       100Lbs      $100
Order#2   Cost Element2            5Pcs        $50
Should be:
Order#1 Cost Element1        100   Lbs        100    USD
Order#2 Cost Element2          5     PCs          50    USD
I should mention that I've tried displaying the characteritic for units in both the rows and columns with no success when I displayed it in rows I received the following results:
Order#1 Cost Element1     Lbs          100
Order#1 Cost Element1     USD                                 100
Order#2 Cost Element2     Pcs                    5
Order#2 Cost Element 2    USD                                    50
In summary I would like to display the unit key whichever it may be for the key figure for quantity in one column. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi ,
You can achieve this either creating New Selections or Restricted Key Figures.
Right click on the structute>>>> New selcection>>> drag the year to right [ Right Click on it >>restrict it with 2008}>>>Drag the respected Key figure.
So u will get the values 2008 in seperate column.
COpy the New Selecten that u created and paste on the structure , chage the descriprion and year to 2009.
do the same for 2010.
Note:you can also achieve this by creating variable offsets.Check the following link

Hi,
It's not possible to 'append' a StringItem or a TextField (or any other lcdui.Item object) to a Canvas or GameCanvas. You can only draw lines, draw images, draw text, etc etc, on a Canvas screen. So, you can only 'simulate' the look and feel of a TextField (on a Canvas) by painting it and adding source code for command handling (like key presses). However, this will be quite some work!!
lcdui.Item objects can only be 'appended' to a Form-like Displayable.

Af:tree Master child relation ,but showing child id's as parent node vice

Am using adf 11G 11.1.1.5
I have a small requiement .
Am using af:tree , where i display childId's . Onclick of child it i have to show popup with tree structure where i will show parentid as node and childId's as child nodes
i have created view link between child and parent views.
Now isssue is when i selected childId in table (i mean a checkbox is given where user check the child Id and fire button ).On dat action am calling popup with tree structure .BUT here childId's are displaying like Parent nodes and parentId's as child node.
any suggestion . if want i will drop the code

There is only viewlink between, Parent and child .NO FK ,these are not related database table (Entity Object.).
simple query's which are made from same table , but base on Parent/Root col i have show data in tree structure way.

If i click max i mean check box and fire button , i have to show tree structure like below
