Displaying Column name in a text field

I am running a report in a spreadsheet format using the across orientation..
the last column is a total total of the previous columns and I need to display a title 'weekly totals' at the top of this column,,
I am trying to write code to return a text string
'Weekly Totals'to populate this field/
I have tried the following

As Philipp said, there is no need for populating the field using PL/SQL. You would just need to go to the Paper Layout in the Reports Editor, click on "Text" in the Drawing toolbar, drag it to the appropriate place in your layout to create the field, and write what you want in that field. Below that, you can create the field(s) which will display the actual totals. I'm assuming that creating the totals field is not a problem.

From the payment document you have to link to the clearing document (Number BSEG-AUGBL, same Fiscal year and Company Code) in the clearing document the text entered in the transaction can be found on item text (BSEG-TEXT).

How to change display type of an existing Text field to a Picklist

I need to modify an existing Text Field in the Expense report page to a Picklist and associate values to that picklist. Is this possible through Personalization ? If not, can someone let me know how this can be achieved.

We created an item instead of creating a region and extending it. But here we have one more problem. The item we added is getting displayed at Button Layout section
Where did you create it, you should choose the appropriate region's create item icon to add it. If think you added it in a wrong place.
And one more issue that we are facing is - we are getting an error (No current row for View (<ViewInstance>)). when we clicking the save or next button in that page. Please let us know how to update the existing controller and save the value in that picklist item to the database.
There are two issues here,
- you are trying to replace the messageTextInput with the poplits, so you should get the viewAttribute and viewUsage name associated with the textinput and provide that as part of the messageChoice definition.
- the picklist VO which is the datasource for the poplist is not included in the existing seeded AM since you didnot follow the steps I mentioned earlier to create the stacklayout and add it instead of adding it directly. Probably you are on a version earlier than CU2, in which case you need to follow the additional steps mentioned below.
While adding the poplist donot specify the picklist view definitions,
1. extend the controller on the page and write your controller
2. Call super first
3. get a handle to the root AM and create the viewobject dynamically by using the createViewObject API on the AM.
4. get a handle to the poplist in the controller, you need to do this first before creating the poplist in the personalization(otherwise the page might error out if you created the poplist first without the picklist view definition properties) and set the display, value attributes as well as the picklist view defintions based on the viewobject you created in step 3.
5. Use personalization and add your poplist
6. replace the old controller class with the new one.
You are done.

How do I display array values in a text field?

Hi there-
I have a small Flash movie I'm trying to complete, it's my
first go around with Flash 8 so I appreciate your patience:
I built an array with some actionscript which seems to work
fine (I can trace it and all is well in the trace window). Now I'm
simply trying to display it to my Flash movie screen and I've built
a dynamic text window which is working, except that I only ever get
the last array element to appear in the dynamic text window. I've
traced the code and see all of my array values, but when I use
"myResults_txt.text=picker_array;" I only see the last position's
value in my array. I tried playing with the "multiline" attribute
for the text field, it didn't seem to make any difference.
I'm sure it's probably something silly that I've missed, but
how do you display an array, with all of it's values to a dynamic
text field (I even tried using the textArea component but ran into
the same problem).

Thanks for your input. I tried just about everything but
ended up re-writing the contents of the array to a var and looping
through the var. Not my first choice but it got me to done.

Urgent : Change in displayed column name of the Metadata

Hi friends,
I am required to dispaly a field called "Ansprechpartner" in my layout set.
As I did not get any corresponding Metadata for it in the ContentManagement,
I used the owner field instead. But the Deutche name for it on doing language change is "VerantWortlicher".
Now it is required that the same data under owner column is dispalyed with the change in column name from VerantWortlicher to Ansprechpartner.
I tried changing the key label in metadata but in vain.
Please help me out...

Hi,
I would recommand to duplicate the owner property instead of changing it to show a different label.
So the steps should be:
1. Duplicate the owner and create your own
2. Follow the Changing Labels for Properties tutorial ro change label:

3. Show this property in your CollectionRenderer instead of owner

ADF swing: JTabbedPane does not display column names.

Hi all,
I have created an ADF Panel, which allows the user to run a few simple queries against an Oracle database done using ADF view objects and ADF view links and ADF application module.
From the data control area I drag and drop a view link containing a query into a JTabbedPane. But when I run the ADF panel, JTabbedPane does not display the column headers from the SQL as opposed to JScrollPane which does.
Suppose you do a select * from departments(dep_id, manager, state_cd), you will see all column headers meaning dep_id, manager, state_cd, and under each column the corresponding data which was retuned by the SQL if you use JScrollPane. But if you use you use JTabbedPane then you would only see the data which was retuned by the SQL without seeing the column header names meaning dep_id, manager, state_cd.
What do I need to do to make JTabbedPane display columns headers?
I would appreciate your input.

JScrollPane should be used. You can add this into a JTabbedPane if you like. Not all Swing panel show table headers

How to display full column name?
there are n no of tables, i have to query the tables but i want the column name to be displayed fully. for example

you can get all the column's for a TABLE from all_tab_columns this VIEW, why dont you write as script which will generate the commands.
Could you please tell us why do you want to display the compete COLUMN NAME in SQL plus.

Displaying a double in a text field, converting to text

I want to do something like the following:
textField.setText(object.getDouble());
so that I can display the value returned by object.getDouble(), which is a double, in a text field. It gives me an error that it's expecting a string though. It will not allow me to cast it to a string either. Anybody know how to do this? Thanks.

JTable can't display column names and scroll bar in JDialog !!

Not displaying column names in dynamic pages?

I'd like to use a dynamic page as a detail page. In doing this I need a bit more freedom of design than what I now know is possible. Most important - I only need to print out the values returned by the SQL, not the column names as well. And I need to define the colors and fonts of the html table tags surrounding the returned values. How?
It seems a bit strange that I am allowed to change the look and feel of the surrounding page elements through defining my own templates, and then have Oracle define how the elements placed in the templates are to appear.
