Displaying Graphics on Parameter Form

Hi,
Previously I have post one question regarding changing the displaying layout of the parameter form. I have try to put some graphics, comapany logo in the header of the parameter form by Editing its HTML code in the Before Parameter Form Value properties. The source of the image is something like "/images/logo.jpg" instead of the full path name.
But in the server, where should I have to create the image folder to store the image? What is the virtual directory or default directory when the Report is call from the web browser?
Thanks
Reagards,
Cheong

Hello,
It is the Navigator which will retrieve the image. (/image/logo.jpg)
The virtual directory image must exist in the HTTP server and the logo.jpg file
must exist in the "physical directory" corresponding to the "virtual directory"
image.
You should be able to get the image typing http:/<http server name>:<port>/image/logo.jpg
in the URL field of the Navigator.

  • How to Change the display format of Parameter form in HTML

    I have created a parameter form to allow user to choose the parameter values before printing the report. The parameter which will display in the web-browser has its own predefined format. How am i going to change this format? eg. changing the Background color, table background color, put in some pictures, set the alignment of the text and fields....
    Now I am able to change the header and footer. I can put in the company logo in the header by changing the report escape - Before form value and the footer in the report escape - after form value. How about the body which all the boilet text and fields will be display here? I need to change the alignment, the table background color and the text style and format also... where should i change this?
    Thanks

    Reports only provides limited formatting for the parameter form. In your case, you seem to need to take over greater control of the parameter form and you're halfway there.
    You've noted that you can control the header & footer values, what you need to do is extend those escapes to render the complete parameter form and remove everything from the actual reports parameter form. ie: Remove the labels/parameter form fields and render these directly in the HTML in the before parameter HTML escape. This allows you to insert any HTML you want - you probably want to start with the Reports generated HTML and move it into Frontpage to edit to your required format.
    What you are doing in this case is still using Reports url/submit mechanism and parameter form validation but bypassing Reports rendering of the parameter form.

  • Parameter not being set in before parameter form trigger

    I am running 10g reports over the web and have a problem with some parameters. I have a User parameter which I set in the BEFORE-PARAMETER-FORM trigger. This parameter is not displayed on the parameter form because it shouldn't ever be changed by a user. It is supposed to be displayed on the report output to show who ran the report, but it is appearing blank.
    I've found that if I physically display the parameter on the parameter form it works, but this isn't a realistic option. It looks like it gets cleared out if it isnt displayed on the parameter form. Can anyone explain why and offer any help?

    Assign value to the parameter in the After Parameter Form Trigger, not Before.

  • About html parameter form

    Hi Guys,
    if i put the code as below in the before form value
    <html>
    <body bgcolor="#29716F">
    <form method=post action="http://localhost/reports/rwservlet?">
    <input name="hidden_run_parameters"
    type=hidden value="report=account_statement.rdf&userid=scott/tiger@ora10&desformat=pdf&destype=Cache">
    <center>
    <p><table border=0 cellspacing=0 cellpadding=0>
    <tr>
    <td><input type=submit></td>
    <td width=15>
    <td><input type=reset></td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <p><hr><p>
    </form>
    </body>
    </html>
    the html parameter form works file ,it can take the user parameters into report output.
    but if i put this code in after form value
    it doesn't work, can not pass user parameters into output.
    Actually, i just want to move submit and reset buttons down, let them are displayed after customized parameter form.
    anybody has idea about this? Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
    To display the buttons "Submit" and "Reset" at the bottom of the Parameter Form, just put the lines
    <input type=submit>
    <input type=reset>
    just before the tag </form>
    Example of "After Form Value" :
    <table><tr>
    <td><input type=submit></td>
    <td width=15>
    <td><input type=reset></td>
    </tr></table>
    </center>
    </body>
    </form>
    </html>

  • How the show parameter form for the report over the web by using an url ?

    hello,
    my url to call my report is :
    http://server/reports/rwservlet?report=rtm0350.rep&desformat=html&userid=un/pw@hostring&server=rep_server&paramform=yes
    but it doesn't show me the parameter form to introduce the parameters and I get :
    'FINISH SUCCESSFULLY'
    has anybnody any idea ?
    thank's

    If this is a 'paper' report then =yes has always worked for me as long you have parameters declared in the report.
    Description Use PARAMFORM to specify whether to display the Runtime Parameter
    Form when you execute a report through CGI or a servlet. PARAMFORM is used only to
    supply parameters to paper layout reports, not JSP-based Web reports.
    Syntax PARAMFORM=YES|NO|HTML
    Values
    &#9632; YES Display the Parameter Form.
    &#9632; NO Do not display the Parameter Form.
    &#9632; HTML Display the Parameter Form in HTML format.

  • Parameter form for web report

    Hello,
    Using rwservlet on the web I can specify paramform=yes and I'll get a parameter form for my reports, which is really handy as it saves me from having to build my own forms. However when I run JSPs directly I cannot seem to get the automated form. Am I missing something obvious or is the parameter form just not available when you run JSPs directly?
    Cheerio,
    Robert

    Hi Robert,
    The description of the command line keyword PARAMFORM in Publishing Reports manual says:
    Use PARAMFORM to specify whether to display the Runtime Parameter Form when you execute a report via CGI or a servlet. PARAMFORM is used only to supply parameters to paper layout reports, not Web source reports.
    For JSP reports you need to create an HTML parameter form which calls the JSP and submits the parameters selected.
    You can find Reports documentation (incl Publishing Reports here):
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/reports.html
    Navneet.

  • Null values not displaying in the LOV on the parameter form.

    My report works perfect while in Oracle Reports 10g, however when I move it to our menu (Oracle Forms 10g) it does not display the null in the LOV on the parameter form.
    This report allows the the user to select by inspector or district or everyone for certain dates.
    Ex: I have 4 parameter fields. The user must enter the start & end dates and either the Inspector or the district or leave the inspector or district null to run for everyone.
    The district LOV is :
    select dnr_section_code, description from dnr_section_code where dnr_section_code in ('29', '38','52')
    UNION
    select null, 'All' from dual
    order by 2 asc ;
    The inspector LOV is:
    select null , 'All' from dual
    UNION
    select person_seq, first_name||' '||last_name inspector from vw_eng_inspectors
    order by 2 asc
    In my Data Model query I use the :
    My select
    from tables
    where clause
    +
    ----by inspector
    and (prod_fac_inspections.person_seq_inspector =
    nvl(:inspector,prod_fac_inspections.person_seq_inspector))
    ---by district
    and
    (d.dnr_section_code = nvl(:district,d.dnr_section_code)
    and d.person_seq = prod_fac_inspections.person_seq_inspector)
    Again, it works perfect in Reports! It eliminates having 3 reports on the menu. This one report gives the user the option of selecting dynamic parameters.
    Also, I got so frustrated, that I went a different route of using a default where.
    I am stuck with the error of ORA:00933 SQL command not ended properly
    1=1
    I set the initial value to 1=1 and it does not like it.
    I am stuck!

    Hi Krishna,
    I'm not sure I understand the probelm.

  • Display Report Parameter Form on Web Browser

    I have prepared a report (with a user parameter form )using Report Developer. Then I call the report in a web-based application through the web-browser. the parameter form display normally, except that there are two buttons on the top : submit and return. Also, the layout of the parameter form is not consistent with the style of my application.
    1. Can I customized the layout of the parameter form so that it can have consistent style with my web-based program ? If yes, how?
    2. Can I suppress the buttons shown on the parameter form ?
    (Our Report Server is 9iAS )

    Hi
    Reports built-in parameter form is deliberately fairly simple in capabilities (otherwise, you'd have all the functionality of Forms inside of Reports). However, with JSPs in Reports 9i, you can go farther to create a custom parameter form of your own liking.
    Thanks

  • PDF Not Displayed After Parameter Form Submitted

    We are moving a Forms6i application to web deployed Forms10g. Reports with parameter forms are being called using web.show_document(...) with the oracle.reports.utility.FrmReportsInteg JavaBean to hide database login credentials, as described in the Forms/Reports integration white papers.
    On our development server this process works as expected: the form displays a new browser window containing the parameter form with URL http://server/reports/rwservlet?userid=&report=report&desformat=pdf&destype=cache&paramform=yes, the parameter form is submitted, and the report output is displayed as a PDF embedded in the new browser window.
    However, on our customer's test server, after the parameter form is submitted, the Oracle Reports OracleAS Reports Services - Servlet Command Help page is displayed. Executing the rwservlet/showjobs command shows the job as being successfully completed. Clicking on the Job Name link redisplays the parameter form, and submitting this returns to the Oracle Reports OracleAS Reports Services - Servlet Command Help page.
    I have not been able to trace any other posts describing the same behavior on Metalink or OTN. Has anyone else seen this?
    Development server is OracleAS 10g (9.0.4.1) on Red Hat Linux, customer server is OracleAS 10g (9.0.4.1) on Solaris.
    Anyone explain this difference between the two servers?

    wonder if your problem is the host.domain name?
    It has to be the same name as the "host:" name that was entered in the "Register with Oracle Internet Directory" screen - while installing AS. Reason is that: when the .html is running, it has no connections to the AS, OID, SSO or anything else - it runs independentally. For it to go back into the oracle 'system', the full host.domain name is needed. So, if when the AS was installed, the "fully qualifed" domain name was not given, you may have problems and could need to reinstall AS again. (speaking from sad experience :) )

  • How do you display a parameter form built from a report?

    Does anyone know how to display the parameter form from building a customized report, as a portlet on a page? Everytime I try, I get the report, which will return no records because it does not first ask for the query parameters.
    thanks!
    null

    You don;t select Run to Run the report with
    parameters - you select the Customize option.

  • How to display  Reports parameter form in Oracle Forms 10g.

    hello,
    am migrating from Forms 6i applications to Forms 10g.
    one of my application contain report, that report display parameter form
    I wrote below code for WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED Trigger
    DECLARE
    pl_id      ParamList;
    v_report_id report_object;
    v_report varchar2(100);
    vjob_id varchar2(100);
    vc_rep_status varchar2(100);
    BEGIN
    pl_id := create_parameter_list('my_list');
    add_parameter (pl_id,'P_HOSPITAL_ID',text_PARAMETER,
    :bm_hospitals.hospital_id);
    add_parameter(pl_id,'PARAMFORM',text_PARAMETER,'NO');
    v_report_id := FIND_REPORT_OBJECT('bm_r001');
    v_report := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT ( v_report_id,pl_id );
    vjob_id := substr ( v_report, length(<reportservername>)+2,
    length( v_report) );
    vc_rep_status := REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS (v_report);
    IF vc_rep_status = 'FINISHED' THEN
         WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'|| vjob_id||
    '?server=rep_mohahubkpcomp_ORaHOme_IAS'||'&userid=
    bedman/bedman@bedman'||'&paramform=yes','_blank');
    ELSE
         message ('Report failed with error message '||vc_rep_status);
    END IF;
    Destroy_Parameter_List(pl_id);
    END;
    The Above code is running report and displaying Output perfect but cannot
    display the Parameter Form at runtime.
    any help in this very thankful.
    Regards
    Gagan.

    In Your code there is a line:
    add_parameter(pl_id,'PARAMFORM',text_PARAMETER,'NO');
    which actually disables the report parameter form.
    The line:
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT ('/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'|| vjob_id||
    '?server=rep_mohahubkpcomp_ORaHOme_IAS'||'&userid=
    bedman/bedman@bedman'||'&paramform=yes','_blank');
    displays the report to which vjob_id refers. At this point the report is competed so the parameters userid and paramform are useless.
    Hope this helps.

  • Displaying parameter form in Portal

    we have reports created using 9i reports builder and are running them using 9ias portal version 9.0.2.2.22
    can we get the parameter form displaying before the report is run, as at the moment it either gives an error because parameters have not been entered, or it runs with the last used parameters which may not be the ones required for this time ( and so reports take awhile to run)

    hi
    You could look at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/discoverer/files/viewlets/1012_dashboard.html
    I don´t remember if here you create the simple parameter form. But there is a portlet called "Simple Parameter Form", you can find it at Portlet Builders. You can reach this link in your Oracle portal in the Edit link, in the add portlet link.
    then you can follow the wizard to create your parameter portlet
    After this step you should link the parameters you send through this portlet with the page and the other portlets.
    I hope this help

  • Reports Parameter form via rwservlet in 9i Reports display is too wide

    We have an app which was developed in Web Forms 6/6i which we are migrating to 9iAS Release 2/Reports 9i. We are running the .RDF reports using WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT with rwservlet and PARAMFORM=YES. The parameter form sizes are generally 5x5, but the parameters display much wider in the 9iAS Release 2/Reports 9i environment in the Web Browser than they did in 6i. I have tried making the Parameter Form smaller, but the display still is way too wide: The browser window has to be scrolled several inches to the right to be viewed.
    Any ideas on the root cause of this issue and how to fix? Or, any solutions to fix besides using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT? We don't have time or resources to write 100 parameter forms in Forms and do the call to Reports that way. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi Judith, we had the same problem and the fix was to add the following parameter to the reports.sh file in the BI&Forms Oracle home:
    REPORTS_DEFAULT_PIXEL_SIZE=80;
    export REPORTS_DEFAULT_PIXEL_SIZE
    After that, the report server needed to be stopped and restarted for the change to take effect.
