Display report using star office
Hi...Need some light on this,,,How to display abap report using Star offce instead of MS excel???? Thanks
If Star Office (??) is OLE compliant, you will need to issue a CREATE OBJECT 'WHATEVER.THE.REGISTRY.ENTRY.NAME.IS.HERE'.
Then once it is activated on the client system, you will need to issue OLE automation commands from ABAP to the Star Office client.
You will probably need an Object Browser to help you with the Star Office commands to pass the ABAP info down to the client. -
Need to display report using SSRS
I have a query that display above format from different tables.
But since in row 2 and 3 date, time,day values are same, I don't want it do display it again in row 3.Below is the required format.
How to do this. I need to display this report using SSRS
Need Help..Thanks
AbhinavThis is basically a presentation issue.
You should be dealing this in your front end tool like say reporting services. The property is called Hide Duplicates in SSRS and is available from textbox properties. You dont need to do anything at sqlserver query end for this.
If you really have no other way then you can use a logic as below
select
case when t1.[Date] IS NULL then '' else cast(t.[Date] as varchar(20)) end AS [Date],
case when t1.[Date] IS NULL then '' else cast(t.[Day] as varchar(10)) end AS [Day],
case when t1.[Date] IS NULL then '' else cast(t.[Time]
as varchar(10)) end AS [Time],
t.company
from table t
left join (select [Date],[Day],[Time],MIN(Company) AS MinComp
FROM Table
GROUP BY [Date],[Day],[Time]
)t1
ON t1.[Date] = t.[Date]
AND t1.[Day] = t.[Day]
AND t1.[Time] = t.[Time]
AND t1.MinComp = t.Company

ALV report using the field catalog
which is the quickest way to generate an ALV report using the field catalog merge. without needing to build the field catalog manually .
is it easier to create a structure and passe it in the field catalog merge . if yes can i have an example plzzzzhI
Supports the creation of the field catalog for the ALV function modules
based either on a structure or table defined in the ABAP Data
Dictionary, or a program-internal table.
The program-internal table must either be in a TOP Include or its
Include must be specified explicitly in the interface.
The variant based on a program-internal table should only be used for
rapid prototyping since the following restrictions apply:
o Performance is affected since the code of the table definition must
always be read and interpreted at runtime.
o Dictionary references are only considered if the keywords LIKE or
INCLUDE STRUCTURE (not TYPE) are used.
If the field catalog contains more than 90 fields, the first 90 fields
are output in the list by default whereas the remaining fields are only
available in the field selection.
If the field catalog is passed with values, they are merged with the
'automatically' found information.
Below is an example ABAP program which will populate a simple internal table(it_ekpo) with data and
display it using the basic ALV grid functionality(including column total). The example details the main
sections of coding required to implement the ALV grid functionality:
Data declaration
Data retrieval
Build fieldcatalog
Build layout setup

Urgent: Issue while displaying the PDF Reports Using XDO Common region
Hi all,
In our product code we are trying to display the PDF Reports, using the xdo common region.
Previously we were writing the pdf reports direclty onto the response direclty.
This displays the report onto the browser but if navigate throw browser back button, it doesn't displays the report as the response stream is empty while navigating through back button.
So to solve this issue, i tried to write the report using the OAHTMLWebBean and xdo common region. Here is the code:
ByteArrayOutputStream xdoOutput = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
XDOUtility.retrieveReport(xdoOutput,
parameters,
prop,
appMod
BlobDomain bxdoOutput = new BlobDomain();
bxdoOutput.setBytes(xdoOutput.toByteArray());
String redirectURL = DocumentHelper.getOutputURL(pageContext,
bxdoOutput,
"Report",
"PDF");
OAHTMLWebBean outRegion = (OAHTMLWebBean)createWebBean (pageContext, OAWebBeanConstants.HTML_WEB_BEAN, null, "IFRAME");
outRegion.setHTMLAttributeValue("src", redirectURL);
outRegion.setHTMLAttributeValue("width", "100%");
outRegion.setHTMLAttributeValue("height", "100%");
outRegion.setHTMLAttributeValue("title","Report");
outRegion.setHTMLAttributeValue("name","Report");
pageContext.getPageLayoutBean().addIndexedChild(outRegion);
This successfully displays the report in the XDO Common region. But now the issue is that there are hyperlinks in the Report displayed where from where the user can navigate to other detail pages.
When we click on these links, a new session starts in the xdo common region.
Is it possible that when the user click the links in the report displayed, instead of starting a new session in the xdo region, the detail pages is displayed with in the older session.
Regards

Hello,
I am migrating an application from APEX 3 to APEX 4.2 on one thing I notice with the classic reports when I bring them into Template 23 is that the first break section has the break row display below the column headers for that section while the remaining rows correctly have it display above the headers on subsequent group sections.
When I look a the code in firebug I can seen that the all tables but the first, the break row is being included as the last row of the previous table so I can see how this would not work for the break since.
I have tow questions.
1. Is this really intentional because it doesn't seem terribly elegant and my users zeroed in on it right away as a perceived bug.
2. Is there a reasonable work around that still uses Repeat Headings on Break? I have multiple reports on the same page in places so changing over to interactive reports is not a silver bullet for me in this case.
Example of issue can be seen at apex.oracle.com at Home
Thanks,

1. Is this really intentional because it doesn't seem terribly elegant and my users zeroed in on it right away as a perceived bug.
The Standard report template definition in theme 23 contains thead and tbody elements:
Before Column Heading
<thead>
Column Heading Template
<th #ALIGNMENT# id="#COLUMN_HEADER_NAME#">#COLUMN_HEADER#</th>
After Column Heading
</thead>
<tbody>
After Rows
</tbody>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
<tbody class="uReportPagination">
#PAGINATION#
</tbody>
</table>
<div class="uReportDownloadLinks">#EXTERNAL_LINK##CSV_LINK#</div>
This is intentional, following best practice for marking up HTML tables. What is not intended is the problem that arises when this template is used with the Repeat Headings on Break break formatting option. The repeated headings result in the table consisting of tag soup containing multiple incorrectly constructed tbody and thead elements, which is invalid.
2. Is there a reasonable work around that still uses Repeat Headings on Break? I have multiple reports on the same page in places so changing over to interactive reports is not a silver bullet for me in this case.
Create a copy of the Standard report template as Standard (break formatting) for use with break reports, remove the thead and tbody tags from the template definitions, and change the break reports to use the new template. (Or, if you primarily have break reports using the Standard template, keep the tags in the copy and remove them from the original to minimize the number of reports you have to edit.)
Personally I'd create a custom row report template for complex break reports in order to be able to have complete control over the structure and presentation. -
Image not displaying in pdf report using XSL-FO and using Oracle 11g databa
Good Afternoon,
I have created over 15 reports using XSL-fo, with the following syntax to display an image on the pdf:
fo:block margin-left="0.24cm" margin-right="0.27cm" margin-top="0.0cm" ><fo:external-graphic content-width="scale-to-fit" content-height="scale-to-fit" width="1.73cm" height="1.57cm" >
<xsl:attribute name="src">'url("http://readiness:7780/i/marforcom_symbol_rpts.gif")'</xsl:attribute></fo:external-graphic>
</fo:block>
This syntax works fine when using Oracle 10g, now my database has been upgraded to 11g and my image no longer displays in the reports. I have already upload the image into the database as a workspace image.
I have tried to point the image @ the image by using url(#WORKSPACE_IMAGE#marforcom_symbol_rpts.gif)
or <img src ="#IMAGE_PREFIX#marforcom_symbol_rpts.gif")
and it still doesn't work.
I have searched this forum trying to come up with a solution that will fix my problem and am unable to.
Current config: Oracle 11g, using pl/sql gateway.
I need to know how to point the xsl-fo file to the database, where the image now resides.
Thanks,
Mary

Edited by: MaryM on Jul 25, 2012 3:51 PMHi,
I think you need load images to database XDB virtual directory /i/ and then use #IMAGE_PREFIX# substitution.
This might help to access /i/
http://www.apex-blog.com/oracle-apex/accessing-i-using-ftp-170.html
Or use this to load images

Display descirption in BO link in Decision step instead of keyfields
Hi All,
I have created a workflow in Records management which is integrated with SRM for the approval of documents. I have a user decision step in my workflow which has many documents displayed as links during approval. For this i copied the std decision task and created my own task and added the business object 'DOCUMENT' ( multi line element). Now it is displaying the documents correctly. but it shows the link as 'BO: key fields' . In this case the key fields are combination of document class and document guid.
Now the requirement is to display the description of the document instead of keyfields. The description will be available as one of the attribute for the document BO.
Can anyone help on this requirement?
Thanks,
Sivagami RHi,
Assign "Description as your default attribute in your BO basic data...
this will work...
