Displaying Static Variable in Title view.
Hi,
I have defined a static variable bank with the value of 'Bank of India' in 10g and have to mention it in the title. How to define the variable in the title. valueof("bank"), @{biserver.variables["bank"]}, @{"bank"} don't work, then how to achieve it?

check with this one - @{biServer.variables['Variable Name']}
variable name should be in single quote.

all I am trying to create a reprot and the format of that report is

Displaying a presentation variable in a title view
Hello,
I've created a title view with the title:
Category Sales Last 12 Months for @{CountryRegion}
I also have a dashboard prompt that sets the presentation variable. However, the first time you run the dashboard page the title displays:
Category Sales Last 12 Months for @{CountryRegion}
instead of:
Category Sales Last 12 Months for
yet when the prompt is set within the dashboard to a value (e.g. Europe), the title correctly shows:
Category Sales Last 12 Months for Europe
I thought the title was supposed to not display the presentation variable definition at all if it is not set.
Please can someone provide some pointers on how to get the title to correctly show the value of the presentation variable in the title whether the value is set or not.

JohnYou can use the Replace function mentioned above only in column formula. If you do not want to use column formula to display this value, then you can opt for Javascript replace function. To implement it, you need to replace your presentation variable in text object with below code and ensure to check Contains HTML markup checbox.

How to display ETL run date in the title view of any report.
Hello Expert,
I have a requirment to show the ETL run date in the title of the report.
Eg: " Sales Vs target Report : Data loaded as on date: <ETL run date>.
The ETL run date is coming in the fact table.
I am working on the OBIEE 11.1.1.5. So pla help if it is possibe.

I tried to do the same. but unable to achieve. I did the following,
1. Created a init block with SQL which extract the value of ETL rundate ans associate with a repository variable (ETL_RUN_DATE). This init block was retriving the data.
I put the folowing in the Title as well as sub title view:
Data loaded as on date: (@{biServer.variables[ETL_RUN_DATE]})
I also tried to put Data loaded as on date: @{repository.ETL_RUN_DATE} this also didnot worked.
So could you please provide me the steps with actual syntax, then it willbe very much helpful for me.

Error at the Format title view
Hello,
Using obiee 11g, encountered few things
I created a title view in my answers.Now i go to edit the Format Title Viewi.e. there is a underline below that titlei changes the colour of it to green.
No problem works fine
Now when i again go to change the colour to red i see there the border colour is null.But the report works finw.When i try to change to red.
It gives a huge error.
At the end it shows this error msg

Same thing happens when i have a static text and when i try to add the font of a static text.
First time no problme but then whatever we added never will be visible and then when we try to change its gves error.

My only intention is Region = @{Region}{All} Industry = @{Industry}{All} i would like to make this appear little bigger so want the font size to be 14 and family as Arial.

Variable in Title of Answers-Report
Hi all,
in BIEE Answers reports I need to display a variable taken from a table, e.g. DWH_LOAD_DATE. I want to display this variable in the title or Static Text box but I don't suceeed with the @{variables.rep_var} notation in combination with a repository variable.
Does someone have a solution or workaround for this requirement? Any hints appreciated.

How to display a variable in the report?

i want to use one complex sql statement which will return only one value and i need to display it in report. i'm new to OBIEE. i thought of creating a repository variable to hold that value. but im not sure of how to display the variable in the report.

I need some input in creating a narative or title view as header information for a report
I am creating employee level reports in obiee 10g.
Table Data (My table view is something like this)

Header required to be displayed as a narative or Title view (all Fields are from my client dimension)

1) drag a text element onto the page, at a location in which you want the variable value to be displayed
2) On the left hand bottom page - go to the web item properties for the text element
3) scroll down to the specific properties for the item - in that uncheck the first two check boxes - display general text elements & display static filter values
4) in the next item in the properties (List of text elements) click once on the box where List is written and then clcik on the small browse button that appears.
5) in the window that opens, in the element type field, select variable/variable value as key (as per your requirement) and then under the element ID field type in the technical name of your variable that you want to display.
click ok and save your template and try executing it.
See if this solves your problem.

Using Static Variable against Context Attribute for Holding IWDView
Dear Friends,
I have a method which is in another DC which has a parameter of the type IWDView. In my view, I will have an action which will call the method in another component by passing the value for the view parameter. Here, I can achieve this in 2 types. One is - I declare a static variable and assign the wdDoModifyView's view as parameter value and I can pass this variable as parameter whenever calling that method or the second way - create an attribute and assign the same wdDoModifyView's view parameter as its value. Whenever I call this method, I can pass this attribute as parameter. What is the difference between these two types of holding the value since I am storing the same value i.e., wdDoModifyView's view parameter. But when I trigger the action from different user sessions, the first type of code (using static variable) prints the same value in both the sessions for view.hashCode() and View.toString(), but the same is printing the different values when I pass the attribute which holds the view parameter.
Clarification on this is highly appreciated
The problem I face is when I use static variable to get the view instance and export the data using the UI element's id, the data belonging to different user sessions is mixed up where as when I use Context Attribute, the same problem doesn't arise. As you have specified the problem that we face when we use static attributes, when end users are using the application .
Static means i have n number of objects but the static variable value will remain same every where.
when it is context attribute for every object i.e nth object you have a nth context attribute i mean nth copy of the context attribute.
so every user has a unique Iview parameter , when context is used and
when static is used , assume you have userA , his iview is set this intially and u have another user B , when he is using , since the variable is static and when you access this variable you will get the value of userA.

I want to display static data in table in web dynpro for java

I have to display static (textview )data in table . So what im doing is that i have created a node of name "table" then created its attribues and binded it to the table and in table, under "column editor" option of "text" is there where i can write the required text . But Im not able to do the same thing in other rows. i.e. im restricted to only 1st row. How to enter it in other rows. So i want that i should write some content in all the rows of table and display it in text view when i execute it. Its just like u r presenting an excel sheet in output form to the user .

ITunes 11 - why no cover in title view and no infos in artist view???
Guys really, you keep messing up iTunes from version to version. I think I will finally move to Songbird or other software.
Why do you always have to remove functions people use and like in iTunes.

In iTunes 10 you removed Covers from the list view and introduced album list view which was essentially the same, you just couldn't dynamically resize covers anymore! Totally useless. So ok.... got used to small covers and got over it.. it was faster in handling my huge library.

In iTunes 11 you rename list view to title, cover view to album and album list to artist. Remove the option to scale covers even from album view and oh..... you simply removed cover flow and the beautiful full sceen view of it... oh .. and in the new artist view I can only see title, artist, rating and the year....

Now I have NO view anymore which displays the information on tracks, like producers, comments and so on WITH a cover. Why can't you just add the option to titles view to show a cover column????
Or let people display more information in artist view....
Glad I have NO iphone so I can switch back to iTunes10 at least untill I found another software that doesn't make it's users angry everytime an update comes in.
Sadly, no official apple guy will read this and even consider thinking about changing stuff... but at least I did something for my frustration with writing this post....

I am guessing at least 90% of the posters here are aware of that. Although it sounds from your post like you personally just discovered it, that iTunes feature has been around for a long time.
