Displaying the header in the downloaded Excel sheet of BI Report
Hi Friends,
The BI report is mapped in the portal, there is a requirement to add a header part in the excel sheet which is downloaded from the Portal like displaying the company code and the date on which it is pulled out. How can it be done, please guide me.

then that is an excel formattng.. After downloading, select the MATNR column, use the Menu option Firmat> Cells> Number--> custom and enter '000000000000000000'.

As far as I know, using EXCEL_OLE_STANDARD_DAT directly is not very flexible and it doesn't have any coloring options.
However, if you use OLE manually in your code, you can get color.. check this sample program

Yes. We can do that. From your log display go to the menu LogDisplay--> Print Preview --> In next page
Menu System--> List --> Save as --> Local File
In this way you can do that.

You shouldn't use DataAttributeInfo as it is an internal object, if I'm correct.
Use IWDAttributeInfo instead of DataAttributeInfo and it should work

How to set the header of the file to excel type when writing it?
Hello,
I am using POI API to read an excel file that I have previously written using Java, but not using POI (I've written the file using Microsoft office xml and then writing it using FileOutputStream with an xls extension).
The problem is that when I read back the file I am getting this error:
The system was unable to upload the file: Invalid header signature; read 7311066695147732796, expected -2226271756974174256.
which means that the header of the file is not excel typed.
If I manually open the file and save it as excel POI is able to read it but I don't want to do this as this entire process of writing/reading the file should be automated. I don't want to use POI for writing the file because POI cannot provide me everything that I need when Microsoft office xml can.
So, my question is simple: Is there a way, using java, to set the header of a file to excel so that POI will recognize it as such?hi roy,

Hi, I use Crustal 11.0.
I have a cross Tab. I display the items on the left column and the months horizontally, the items are grouped by category field. The values are the sum of quantities are displayed for each month. Like this:

The problem, I want to add a page header for each page of the report.
When Crystal reports first displays my cross-tab in the designer, CR displays the cross tab in the Report header section. I d like to add text or image for each page and not only at the begining of my Cross-Tab.
If I just add an image or text at the top of the report designer, which is my report header, I get the image or text only on the begining of the 1st page of my report but never in the other following pages.
If I try to work around the problem and move the cross Tab to a group section instead, and then put the Image in the group header, I get what I want, but the problem is that:
The columns header: Jan, February....December are displayed for each group of my report and not only in the beginning of the report. I get something like this:

you could do for example in the wdDoInit() of the view
wdContext.currentContextElement().setPicture("picture.gif");
Now you assign this context variable to the Tab using the Tab_header's imageSource-Property. When you click on its value column, you see a button with three dots on it. If you click on this button, you will get all context nodes and attributes for this View. Usable variables are clearly marked, you now choose the one named Picture or what ever name you prefer to use. But it must correspond to the one set in the wdDoInit.
I think setting a picture (not necessarily for the tab-page) is done in one of the excellent tutorials. If you are a newcomer I strongly recommend doing some of the tutorials. I have learned tremendously from them.

How to have some fields in the header of the report

we would like to have some fields in the header of the report (every page but the first page), but Word won’t let you insert fields into the header. Are there any work arounds to do something like that?

Try this. Say if you want to insert a XML tag named TRX_NUMBER in header. Put <?TRX_NUMBER?> in the header. This will display TRX_NUMBER tag in header. -
Not show the header on the first page of a section
I am writing a manual that has about 7 chapters. Each chapter is its own section. I have been able to go in and create a header for each of these sections very easily. However, it's not quite clear how to NOT show the header on the first page of the section. For example, one of my sections is called "Personal Finances", so I have that in bold a the top of the page using Header 1. Because I have that, I don't also need "Personal Finances" showing in the top right corner in the header.
How can I make it so that it won't show on the first page of each section?

In the "Layout Inspector" under the "Section" tab, check the "First page is different" option while one of that section's pages is active/selected/displayed. Then add or delete the header as may be needed so that first page of section does not display the header and all other pages in the section do display. (I.e., what you specifically have to do here depends on whether or not you are already on the first page of the section when you make the change to the display "switch" and whether you are starting with a blank or non-blank header.) -

The header should include the number of records found in the table with a maximum begin date (begin_date is the column of the table)

Instead of printing it, try saving it as a pdf from the print menu, and then printing the pdf out.

(1) I need to allow an end-user to be able to add comments to files either when they are added to a library or after they are added. I didn't see a Column available for adding to a Document Library for "Comments".
(2) I need the same user to be able to add text/comments to the Header of the web-page that contains the library (above the library at the top of the screen).
When I (the SP Admin) add the "Content Editor Web-Part" to the top of the web-page that contains the Document Library, the Toolbar disappears. The Content Editor Web-Part would be ideal to allow the end-user to add comments to the Header, but I
really need the Toolbar available.
Is there another Web-Part that I could use for allowing comments to be added to the Header of a web-page without disabling the Toolbar, or is there a known-fix for allowing the Toolbar to be available and functional after adding a Content Editor Web-Part?

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to add Comments to Files in a Library and to the Header of the Web-Page.
(1)If you use the document content type in the library, it will contain the “Comments” field automatically. When you add the document, you can enter the conments. You can also edit the “Comments” field after the document added.
(2)If you add the add the "Content Editor Web-Part" to the AllItem.aspx Page, you can add the text to the web part as the Header.
