Distinguish between 'Edit Page' and 'Customize'

I have a portlet/provider that needs to be able to distinguish between 'Edit Page' and 'Customize (Page)' (top level). In both cases you can add portlets, but I want to implement different logic for both instances.
Thanks,
Jan

Okay, so here goes!
Oracle Portal stores the way a portlet instance is shown/put on a page in the db-column 'wwpob_portlet_instance$.include'.
In the portlet 'register' call you can find out what the originating action was for this portlet to be placed on the specific page. At this stage only two possible values are interesting:
3: WWPOB_API_PAGE.PORTLET_CUSTOM; The originating action was [Customize Page - Add Portlet]
1: WWPOB_API_PAGE.PORTLET_BASE_SHOWN; The originating action was [Edit Page - Add Portlet]
For now this gives me a hook to process the two originating actions differently.
Please let me know if you know of any other (less hacked) way to do this.
Thx,
Jan.

  • Distinguishing between bookmark page and ordinary jsp

    If I bookmark a page in my project and close the browser , and again on restarting the browser
    viewing the same bookmark page without logging in,
    All the links should work.
    It is working , but problem arises here
    how to
    distinguish between bookmark page and ordinary jsp
    which is viewed with login

    The problem is not the bookmark.
    Review your JSP, you may find it does not check the session id.
    In this case, everyone can access the page without login.

  • Tab page and customization keeps disappearing

    For the last two days, my tabs page and customization keep disappearing. When I open a new tab, it is completely blank, with no preloaded sites. When I try to add items such as bookmarks, home, search, adblock, etc to the address bar, they appear as if they have been added but do not appear on the page, nor do they appear after I shut down and restart Firefox. I have refreshed multiple times in the last few days. At that point, I can see the tabs page, see the settings gear, and can populate tabs, pin them etc. I can also get the customization to work. Most recently, the tab page was there, and I could see sites loaded, but the images were missing and never appeared. Sometimes when I shut down the computer, the settings are all saved, but other times they all disappear and the process starts all over again. This includes when I close Firefox with the Exit command under File rather than using the red X option.

    Other users have reported problems with FoxTab recently: the reviews for it over the last 9 months are pretty blistering: [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/foxtab/reviews/]. I don't know enough about that extension to help with that.
    But regarding the built-in main toolbar, those are changes that Firefox itself should save. Our support article "[[How to fix preferences that won't save]]" covers many of the reasons that there might be glitches with that. Another common issue is utility/privacy/security software like Advanced SystemCare that has a home page protection/browser protection feature. This can roll back your changes between sessions of Firefox. You may need to disable that feature if any of your software has it.

    How to Differentiate between OA page and iStore pages?

    If the URL contains the JSP tag as OA.jsp or RF.jsp, then its an OAF application else if you see some custom jsp, eg, jftchrome.jsp etc, then the application is JTT/JTF based application:
    eg:
    OAF application:

    http://sampledomain.oracle.com:5000/OA_HTML/*OA.jsp*?.......

  • Distinguish between pure AS3 and Flex project

    Hey,
    how can I distinguish if I am compiling currently an AS3 or a Flex project (mxml vs. pure as)?
    I acutally want to look something up in the "evaluate" method of a GenerativeFirstPassEvaluator before doing the processing. So I need to know it there.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Best,

    MXML is converted to AS3 code as part of the compilation process, then the AS3 is compiled normally like the rest of the project. I don’t think that GFPE is run over anything but an AS3 tree. There
    may be a way to figure out where the original source came from, e.g. .mxml or .as file, but you’d have to interactively debug and scan the data structures — I don’t know off hand.

  • How can I distinguish between the first and the rest in Smartforms??

    Hello Vamshi,
    As per the OP's requirement he has to print 3 copies of the invoice. Which according to my understanding should be printed at the same time ? May be i am wrong in interpreting this.
    You must be knowing you can control the print params of the SmartForms in CONTROL_PARAMETERS where you set the NO_DIALOG & in the OUTPUT_OPTIONS pass the number of copies.
    I think the solution you have proposed the "Original Copy" will be printed only once. (Correct me if i am wrong)
    Every time the user prints the invoice again he will be getting a "Duplicate Copy". If this is what the OP wants the logic is perfect

  • Difference between editing stopped and stopCellediting

    Hai Friends,
    What is the difference between editingstopped and editingCancelled.
    and I would like to know the difference between
    (editing stopped and stopCellEditing).
    also
    the difference between
    (editing cancelled and cancelCellEditing);
    Pls help me....
    Regards,
    Ciya...

    editingstoppedThe value in the editor was saved to the TableModel
    editingCancelledThe value in the editor was NOT saved.
    stopCellEditinginitiates the Action of saving the data and removing the editor from display on the table.
    editing stoppedThe above Action has been completed.

  • A way to distinguish between 'Parent' keys and 'Referential' keys

    Hi,
    We use referencial keys to specify the FK to a parent table and also link to other tables... I need to write a script that needs to distinguish between a 'Parent' key and and a 'Referential' keys. In the database they both look the same, as they are both foreign keys...
    What's the easiest way to determine whether a FK is a link to a parent table or a link to an unrelated table..
    I hope this question makes sense...
    EDIT:
    Here's an example of the tables, and a better explanation
    CREATE TABLE PARENT_TABLE(
    par_id number PRIMARY key,
    par_name varchar2(200)
    create TABLE RELATED_TABLE(
    rel_id number PRIMARY key,
    rel_name varchar2(200)
    create TABLE CHILD_TABLE(
    kid_id PRIMARY key,
    kid_name varchar2(200),
    par_id,
    rel_id,
    CONSTRAINT kid_par_fk FOREIGN KEY(par_id) REFERENCES PARENT_TABLE(par_id),
    CONSTRAINT kid_rel_fk FOREIGN KEY (rel_id) REFERENCES RELATED_TABLE(rel_id)
    )Ok, as you can see the child table has 2 references but no way to tell which one is the parent table.. In our database we have this hirearchy of parent-child tables (where it's one-to-many relationships) where we consider a table a parent of other.. And also we have a ton of other foreign keys that link to related tables (many-to-many) relationships...
    Now i need a clean way of distinguishing between PARENT and RELATED table.. A more elegegant solution to a keeping a hierarchy table of parent, child tables.. I'm sure others have this kind of structure..
    let me know if there is more clarification needed.. Sorry for the confusion..

It's only your own business rules and usage that make one of the FK relationships to a "parent" while the other is to .. what, an "uncle"? ;-) Oracle has no way of knowing what your business rules and usage are.

  • Process flow between edit ,renderlistitem and show form in XML form builder

    Hi all ,
    i'm building from in xml from builder . i'm confused with the process between edit ,renderlist item and show froms .can any one please explain me the Process flow between those
    thanks,
    rajeev.

    Hi Rajeev!
    There is no process flow between those forms. They are seperate views of the same document, nothing more.
    The Edit form is always used if you create or edit a xml document based on the form.
    The renderlist item form is used if more than one XML document is shown, for example in a list.
    The show form ist used if the document should be displayed in full, eg by clicking on an XML document in a list.
    It is even possible to add more custom forms and display them. If you "preview" an XML document, you get the choice to display the document with all display forms available (default Renderlist item and Show). If you watch the URL when previewing a xml document you'll see an URL parameter selecting the form to show.

  • ADF 10.1.2 - a view page follows by edit page and create page

    Hi,
    I am trying to maintain a simple ADF application written by other people who left the organization.
    The structure of the application is that a view page listing the records of a table has edit and create buttons. Both edit and create functionality are currently implemented using an identical set of uix, UIModel and action.java files.
    I want to use different sets of uix, UIModel and action.java for edit and create functionality such that edit and create forms can have different features. I changed structs-config.xml to add a new page for the create form and created forward links to go from the view page to the create page and backward. I created a set of uix, UNModel and action.java files for the create form. When I debug the application, the edit functionality remains the same. I can go from the view page to the create page. But when I click cancel, I get:
    Warning: No Method onRollback and no actionBinding Rollback found
    Also, the create form also picks up some of the fields of the current record (similar to edit) but none of the choice lists work.
    The following extracts from struts-config.xml demonstrate a strange behavoir.
    <action path="/unitsEdit" className="oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataActionMapping" type="view.UnitsEditAction" name="DataForm" parameter="/unitsEdit.uix" unknown="false">
    <set-property property="modelReference" value="unitsEditUIModel"/>
    <forward name="unitsViewLink" path="/unitsView.do"/>
    </action>
    <action path="/unitsCreate" className="oracle.adf.controller.struts.actions.DataActionMapping" type="view.UnitsCreateAction" name="DataForm" parameter="/unitsCreate.uix" unknown="false">
    <set-property property="modelReference" value="unitsCreateUIModel"/>
    <forward name="unitsViewLink" path="/unitsView.do"/> <!-- I manually added this line. But it disappears if I click the backward link in the Page Flow Diagram -->
    </action>
    My questions are:
    1 Does ADF 10.1.2 support multiple local child pages as described above?
    2 If it does, what's wrong with my implementation.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Michael

    Hi,
    Actually, this is only a very small extract of an existent large application. We currently do not have resource to upgrade it to 10.3, let alone 11g.
    Please help.

         <jsp:directive.include file="/footer.inc"/>
    </page></pml></jsp:root>

    For a start, just "session" instead of "request.session" would work better. But why did you post this here and not in the JSP forum? Doesn't seem to have anything to do with Java programming.

    Try restoring to factory defaults/new iPod you have not yet done that. If you still have the problem that points to a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Distinguish between Office x64 and Office x86 versions in SCCM 2012 R2 Inventory

    I need to distinguish between SCCM clients who have Office 2010 x64 and those who have Office 2010 x86 version.
    I have tried creating a collection with query-based-membership looking at all computers with ARP64 Display name like Office 2010.
    I have also tried creating a report with the same query basics.  The query shows different machine lists than the collection looking for the same information.  Also, I am looking for the WinWord.exe path, which for x64 version of Office on Win
    7 x64 should be "c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 14".  However, I find that file in the "c:\program files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office 14".  So the query returns the machine as having Office x64, but the Office EXEs
    are all in the c:\program files (x86)\ folders instead.
    Should I trust the report for the inventory?  I have done a spot-check on some computers (18 of 222), and it's not always true that they have x64 version of Office installed.
    What's a girl to do?
    thanks,

    I suggest you create a compliance base line and deploy it to the collections. The compliance will check whether the clients are running Office x64. If not, it will report as non-compliant, then you can create Collection based on this info.
