Distribute file to multiple emails using ssis

I want to send an email to multiple email recipients.  The list of all the email recipients are present in a Flat File.  My SSIS package should get the list of email recipients from the Flat File, and send an email to all of them.
All the recipients would receive the same message.  How do I do this.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply and It is working fine for me however, it is not meeting my exact requirement.
Let me put more details here. My file structure is 'Email','FileName'. File Name is to attach to that email address.
I have managed to use Record Set Destination and For Each Loop but when I pass the Email variable to 'ToLine' it is not showing any To email address and the email task is in Error mode,... I can able to display the value of the Email variable in Script task
and can see the email address but when I use the same variable in Script task, it is not working for me. Please guide me in right direction.
Thanks.
Did you map the variable to the To property of Sent Mail Task as I suggested. It should be done in the expression tab of the Sent Mail Task. Also the variable used for setting email address value as well as the To property of Sent Mail Task should be set
to test value which should be in valid email format. Otherwise it will show a warning unless you set delay validation to true

  • Flat files data comma separated using SSIS.

    Hi,
    I have multiple flat files which come in comma separated columns. See example below :
    Customer Data
    CustID,FName,LName,Disease,Email,Phone
    12345,Xyz,Smit,Bronchitis, Asthma and fever,[email protected],80000000
    12346,Abc,Doe,fever Headache,[email protected],90000000
    12347,Klu,joe,Sugar, cough and fever,[email protected],12345678
    Please look at the ID's 12345 and 12347. The disease column has a internal comma space between. How do i remove the comma spaces in the disease column, so that it can be loaded from flat file to sql table using SSIS. ?
    Please help !
    Thanks

    Here is a full solution base on my post above (first option)
    1. create temp table (Give it a unique name):
    create table #T (Txt NVARCHAR(MAX))
    GO
    2. Insert all the data into temporary table. Each line in the text file, is a value for one column in a row in the table.
    -- I will jump to the table and use simple insert.
    -- If you have problem with step 1 then please inform us (this is simple bulk insert basically)
    insert #T (Txt) values
    ('1234435,Xyz,Stemit,Brfsdonchitis, Asthma and fever,[email protected],80000000'),
    ('12346,Agjdfjbc,Doge,fevhhhher Headsxdshhache,[email protected],90000000'),
    ('123447,Klu,joe,Sugar, cough and fever,[email protected],12345678')
    GO
    the result should be like this:
    Txt
    1234435,Xyz,Stemit,Brfsdonchitis, Asthma and fever,[email protected],80000000
    12346,Agjdfjbc,Doge,fevhhhher Headsxdshhache,[email protected],90000000
    123447,Klu,joe,Sugar, cough and fever,[email protected],12345678
    I use a SPLIT Function named Split_CLR_Fn. This is a CLR Split function that get input <string to split> and <string as delimiter,> and it return table with 2 columns ID, SplitData
    For example if you use: SELECT * from Split_CLR_Fn('text1,text2,text3,',') then you get result:
    ID SplitData
    1 Text1
    2 Text2
    3 Text3
    ** You can find in the internet several good functions, I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED NOT TO USE T-SQL FUNCTIONS but CLR FUNCTION. Check thi link to understand why:
    http://sqlperformance.com/2012/07/t-sql-queries/split-strings
    ** This is the best function that I know about and I use it, but I change the code a bit to return 2 columns and not just the SplitData as in this blog: http://sqlblog.com/blogs/adam_machanic/archive/2009/04/28/sqlclr-string-splitting-part-2-even-faster-even-more-scalable.aspx
    That's it :-) we are ready for the solution which is very simple
    Solution 1 (BAD solution but easy to write):
    select
    (select SplitData from Split_CLR_Fn(Txt,',') where ID = 1) CustID,
    (select SplitData from Split_CLR_Fn(Txt,',') where ID = 2) FName,
    (select SplitData from Split_CLR_Fn(Txt,',') where ID = 3) LName,
    STUFF((select ',' + SplitData from Split_CLR_Fn(Txt,',') where ID > 3 and ID < (select MAX(ID) from Split_CLR_Fn(Txt,',')) - 1 for XML path('')), 1 , 1,'') Disease,
    (select SplitData from Split_CLR_Fn(Txt,',') where ID = (select MAX(ID) from Split_CLR_Fn(Txt,',')) - 1) Email,
    (select SplitData from Split_CLR_Fn(Txt,',') where ID = (select MAX(ID) from Split_CLR_Fn(Txt,','))) Phone
    from #T
    GO
    Solution 2: better in this case since the format is constant (this is the solution I wrote about above)
    ;With MyCTE as (
    select
    Txt,
    SUBSTRING(Txt, 1, CHARINDEX(',', Txt, 1) - 1) as CustID
    , SUBSTRING(
    Txt
    ,CHARINDEX(',', Txt, 1) + 1 -- I start from the end of preview len
    , CHARINDEX(',', Txt, CHARINDEX(',', Txt, 1)+1)- CHARINDEX(',', Txt, 1) - 1
    ) as FName
    , SUBSTRING(
    Txt
    ,CHARINDEX(',', Txt, CHARINDEX(',', Txt, 1)+1)+1 -- I start from the end of preview len
    , CHARINDEX(',', Txt, CHARINDEX(',', Txt, CHARINDEX(',', Txt, 1)+1)+1) - CHARINDEX(',', Txt, CHARINDEX(',', Txt, 1)+1) - 1
    ) as LName
    , RIGHT(Txt, CHARINDEX(',', REVERSE(Txt), 1) - 1) as Phone
    , RIGHT(LEFT(Txt, Len(Txt) - Len(RIGHT(Txt, CHARINDEX(',', REVERSE(Txt), 1) - 1)) - 1), CHARINDEX(',', REVERSE(LEFT(Txt, Len(Txt) - Len(RIGHT(Txt, CHARINDEX(',', REVERSE(Txt), 1) - 1)) - 1)), 1) - 1) as Email
    from #T
    select CustID,FName,LName, Phone, Email, SUBSTRING(Txt, Len(CustID) + Len(FName) + Len(LName) + 4, Len(Txt) - Len(Email) - LEN(Phone) - Len(CustID) - Len(FName) - Len(LName) - 5) as Disease
    from MyCTE
    I hope that this is useful :-)

  • Save file in multiple directories using receiver file adapter?

    Hi,
    Is it posible to save file in multiple directories using receiver file adapter?
    Regards,
    Ashish

    Well, there is a round about way to do that -
    The idea is to use multi mapping. 1:n mapping
    1) Map ur message to 2 different record set nodes. Since you want to use the same file both the mapping will look exactly the same. make sure that the filepath and filename are a part of the output payload message
    2) In the file adapter config. make sure the the file name and file path are from these payload fields. You can use a context object to refer these fields. Voila...the files are created in the 2 direcoties you mentioned.
    of course the simplest way is to route the same message to 2 business systems/services and write them out using 2 ccs.,

  • I am having problems attaching files to my email using the latest Firefox 13.0.1, Comcast is my internet provider, but I did not have problem with Safari.

    Why am I having problems attaching files to my email using Firefox 13.0.1.?
    I am using a MAC, OS 10.6.8, and have Comcast as my internet provider. I noticed after I upgraded to Firefox 13.0.1 that I am having problems attaching files to my email. I do not experience the same problem with Safari, but I prefer to use Firefox, as all of my bookmarks and passwords are saved there. I just like the way Firefox works better than Safari.
    I am a free-lance graphic designer and rely on my internet connection to my customers. I need this resolved ASAP!

    Could you start by resetting the zoom level on the page? To do that, you can either:
    * Press Ctrl+0 (that's a zero) on the keyboard
    * View menu > Zoom > Reset
    You also can use zoom to increase/decrease the size from there. This article describes the various mouse, keyboard, and menu methods: [[Font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages]].
    Any luck?

  • How to generate xml file with multiple nodes using sqlserver as database in SSIS..

    Hi ,
    I have to generate the xml file using multiple nodes by using ssis and database is sqlserver.
    Can some one guide me on to perform this task using script task?
    sudha

    Why not use T-SQL for generating XML? You can use FOR XML for that

  • Loading multiple .csv files into a table using SSIS

    Hi,
    I have a requirement where I have 200+ csv files to be loaded into Netezza table using SSIS.
    Issue I am facing is all columns have different number of columns, for ex, file 1 has columns A,B,C and file 2 has columns C,D,E. My target table has all columns from A to E in it.
    But, when I am using for each loop container, only the file for which I have specified filepath+filename in loop variable, that is getting loaded. Rest all files, no data is getting loaded from them and package is executing successfully.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Regards,
    VT

    if you want to iterate through files then all files should be in same folder and you should use file enumerator type within ForEach loop. Then inside loop you might need a script task to generate the data flow on the fly based on the avialble input columns
    from the file and do the mapping in the destination. So I assume you put NULLs (or some default value) for missing columns from the file

  • Issue converting multiple emails using Adobe PDF Plugin

    We have users that use the Adobe PDF plugin within Outlook to convert multiple emails into one PDF file.  They will select multiple emails, then click on the Adobe PDF tab within Outlook and choose Selected Messages, Create New PDF.  When the pdf is created, only the first email that was selected got converted into the pdf file.  It does not convert all of the selected emails.  I have tried it on my computer and it is not working for me either.  We are using, Windows 8.1, Office 2013, Adobe Acrobat Standard XI.  The users say they were able to get this to work before we upgraded.  Previously, they had Windows 7, Office 2010, Adobe Acrobat X.  Is this a bug?

  • How do I automatically update/distribut files to multiple machines at once?

    We use Vectorworks (CAD software) in my office and it includes, within its own application folder, a library of objects and templates.
    What I'd like to be able to do is update the files within this folder on each machine at the click of the button, preferably using my own machine as a master.
    Any ideas on how achieve this?
    We're running Mac OS X 10.4 on all machines (about a dozen) and have a server running Mac OS X Server 10.4. We also have Apple Remote Desktop.

    You can update file(s) on multiple machines using Apple Remote Desktop. Create a list (File > New List) and add the machines you want to update. Then use the "Copy" tool (Manage > Copy Items) to distribute the updated files from your machine to the target machines. There are several options for "Copy" and it depends on which version of ARD you're running.

  • File to multiple eMails id How

    Hi,
       I need to send each record(row) in  file to different email id.Each record has a record identifier.
       Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Thank you
    Monika Dietz

    Hi Monika,
    I can think of two options here:-
    1.You can either write a user defined code which will directly send each message to the specified email id.
    -For this you willhave to use methods defined for mails...we have a done a similar thing but sent the messages to a JMS queues - directly from a udf. You will not have to configure the mail adapter.
    2.If you are very sure of the number of records, etc...then you can probably do a message mapping for each email id and then use the mail adapter.

    The error on your code might be:
    BodyPart messageBodyPart1=new MimeBodyPart();
    DataSource source1=new FileDataSource(filename1);
    messageBodyPart.setDataHandler(new DataHandler(source1));
    messageBodyPart.setFileName(filename1);
    multipart.addBodyPart(messageBodyPart1);
    You don't need to create a new BodyPart, and apart from that you'r seting values on "messageBodyPart" but adding "messageBodyPart1" to your multipart :P
    Well see u and have a good one!
    p.s. i know it's a little late from the day you posted, but at least it might help somebody else :D .

  • Delete multiple files from multiple locations using config file

    Hello All,
    I am fairly new to .net and I have to make a windows application to delete files older than 90 days from multi ple locations. these multiple locations cant be hard coded and have to be configurable, also the number of days to delete the files have to be

    I think the answer to this would be an app.config file. but dont know how to use the same.
    can anyone tell me about this and if possible help me out with a code snippet.?

    Add settings like picture below.  Add the string by press the double dot icon.
    The use the code below
    static void Main(string[] args)
    int deleteDays = Properties.Settings.Default.DeleteDays;
    StringCollection folders = Properties.Settings.Default.Folders;
    foreach (string folder in folders)

  • .pdf file renaming when emailing using regular button

    Acrobate 8.0
    I have created a form which is to be emailed in .pdf form and then submitted using a regular button set to mailto (#58 posting).
    My problem is that when emailed the form takes on the original file name and I would like to have it take on a new name. The name can be in any naming convection.
    Any help is appreciated!

    You can create a Print Plugin Automator workflow that applies the Quartz filter to reduce the file size.
    When Automator opens, choose the Print Plugin option, add Apply Quartz Filter to PDF files, and then add a Move Finder items, Open Finder Items. Save the workflow and it will appear in the PDF menu.
    If you don't add the Move or Open action, you won't see the file. It creates a temp file that you must save. Somewhere on the Leopard Automator forums I have a post that has an Applescript to save the file.
    The Move action works well when you want to save the file in a standard location. You can change the Options on the Move Action to show when it runs so that you can pick the destination.
    If you use the Open action, you can then save as from the menu to save as you wish.
    I tested it with a word doc and cut an 11.8 MB file down to 303KB.

    Inorder to do this..I have decided to change the occurance of Idoc from 1 to 1..unbounded , in the xsd i have downloaded from standard Idoc.
    which i have a plan to map to the filed , based on that i need to create new Idoc.
    I have tried importing the modified xsd into external definition. but how i should relate it to standard idoc which I have mapped earlier?.
    Thanks,
    venu.

    HI Venu,
    <i>

    After changing the Idoc occurence , you have imported the xsd into external definition. So this will act as as new message type for you in the mapping.
    You can not use old mapping here.
